Fire is the definition of meh
During her rookie year, I saw Jackie Stiles at a Red Robin. Without thinking I immediately stood up, knocked over ever water class at our table, blurted out “Jackie hello”, and sat back down. Boys, I played it *smooth*.
when the Fire win 10 consecutive WNBA titles everyone will be stoked
The lamest thing they could have done…
It’s definitely a reference, but not a name. No capital F in Fire. They’ve teased the two team colors but Fire is not the name.
Real OGs only know the Portland Power. Bring them back!

The brand is being revealed tomorrow at an event at the moda center. They’re not gonna undercut the whole thing by posting it in a random unsuspecting instagram post the day before lol.
I remember back in 2002 when I was a little kid some Portland Fire players came to speak to my P.E class.It was kinda neat…or should I say FIRE🔥
Hopefully it’s not Fire. It’s just uninspired. Embrace being the Rose City and pick something rose related.
I still like Rip City Roses.

Portland Embers! Or Portland Phoenix? I’d take either of them over the pioneers. Damn that list of options was bad. (I’d kinda rather the phoenix, just for the chaos we could have playing against the mercury )
Absolute fumble of a name. Generic, unoriginal crap.
Not a fan of just reusing the name but it’s overall solid and works great in tandem with the (probable) rivalry with the Storm
