The NBA Is NOT READY For This VERSION Of The Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets, they are going to be sending out a team this season that is arguably the best supporting cast Nicola Yokic has ever had. The Nuggets, of course, won the championship in 2023, and they’re looking to get back to that championship pedigree. And I mean, this team that they have put together, it is going to have a great chance of getting back to the top of the mountain as the Denver Nuggets, in my eyes, are a legitimate bonafide championship contender. We’re going to take a look at the team the Nuggets are going to be carrying on over into the season and why the NBA simply is not ready for this version of the Denver Nuggets. Nicole Joic has a supporting cast and that is a scary scary thing for the rest of the league. Do me a solid guys. Drop a like on the video. So, you look at what the Nuggets did this off seasonason. I loved every single one of their moves. Of course, they got things started by making the trade for Cam Johnson. And yes, they do send on over that unprotected 2032 first round pick, which right now looks to be one of the better picks in all of the NBA just because at that point is going to be 37 when it conveys. But the Denver Nuggets, they don’t care about the future. right now they care about maximizing Nola Ych’s prime and you had to do whatever it took to get him the talent to surround him with the supporting cast for right now. So Denver, they’re looking to maximize all of what’s left of Joic and they do get Cam Johnson who I believe is a better player than Michael Porter Jr. I mean defensively he’s going to bring it and then you look at him he’s a gifted shooter as well. He’s gonna add another creator off the dribble and he does have better defense than MPJ. And the 17 million difference in their salaries, that was the key here because this trade essentially opened up these several significant avenues that the Nuggets then explore. I mean, they immediately use some of that creative flexibility to add Yonis Valentunis, who right now looks to be the best backup center of the Nicola Joic era. And you don’t have to worry about Yonas Valentunes not playing for this team because the Nuggets have officially acquired him from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Dario Sarich. And you look at what David Adelman said, first time we have a backup with a similar skill set to Nicola Joic. So he sees Felon Tunis as a perfect fit for the Nuggets. And then the Nuggets, they absolutely crushed the minimum market with whatever money they had left. They brought back former Denver Nuggets champion Bruce Brown. This is the best spot for Bruce Brown. Of course, after he signed that lucrative deal with the Pacers when he first left Denver. He’s been a shell of himself, but if there’s one place where he can rejuvenate himself and look like the Bruce Brown of old, it’s in the system that he’s very familiar playing in. Of course, has a lot of experience playing with Jamal Murray, Nicola Joic. And then I really like the addition of Tim Hardaway Jr. This is exactly the sort of player they needed from off their bench. And you look at the Nuggets, I mean, they took the fewest threes in basketball last season. Hardway Jr. going to help this team with it shooting, with spacing the floor, hitting threes, and these are the type of players you want to surround Eola Joic with as Joic is going to attract so much attention. And you look at the Nuggets, they now sit in a very, very great spot. You know, from making the trade to Valentunis to Tim Hardaway Jr. to Bruce Brown, all of a sudden, like this depth chart looks very, very solid. Look at the Denver Nuggets depth chart going to last season and compare it to how it’s going to look going into this season. It’s night and day. There is balance and right now like this to me is a team that’s going to be up there. Like they are going to be one of the best teams, arguably the best team in the west. Like you got to think the Denver Nuggets took the OKC Thunder to seven games and it was literally the Nicola Joic show. That team almost beat the current NBA champion. Now you have these pieces in play where you do have that depth. You do have that bench. something that was significantly lacking on the Denver Nuggets. Having a capable bench unit, having a capable backup for Joic, that’s going to alleviate so much pressure off of Joic because now he could actually get some rest. He can actually sit down. He doesn’t always have to be on the floor. You have Murray, you have Brown, you have Johnson, Gordon, Joic. That five alone is one of the best fives in all the NBA. And then the bench, you’re going to have Brown Straw. He, you know, took some significant strides forward. I think he’s going to continue to get better. Tim Hardaway Jr. again, some much needed shooting in that bench unit. Peyton Watson, I think, is going to get, you know, continue to get better as well. And then Valentunis, there was a moment in time there where you thought that the Nuggets were going to miss out on Valentunis, but the fact that he is on this team, I think is going to make a big difference. So you look at the Nuggets, I mean obviously looking at it just from a overall lens perspective, the biggest thing is going to be injury, right? Jamal Murray’s missed some time. Even Cam Johnson has injury history. You know, he’s never played more than 66 games in a season and that was four years ago. And MPJ’s best ability was availability. However, if health is on this team’s side, the Nuggets, they’re going to be a lot better than they were last year. Valentunis again is arguably the best backup center has ever had. And then the Nuggets, they are getting the better player in Cam Johnson if healthy on both sides. They added two excellent shooters. Something that this Nuggets team desperately needed after ranking just 28th in the league last season with 12 made threes. And then of course, you know, they have veteran Bruce Brown who knows this locker room inside and out. So, it seems like Nicole Joic is a fan of all the moves because according to ESPN’s Brian Winhorse on the Hube Collective podcast, he said that uh Mr. Joic has not spoken on the record, at least in English, about this that I’ve seen, but I was told through secondhand that Jokic was very pleased with the Nuggets moves. So, Joic is a fan and you look at how this team is going to, you know, stack up on paper. I think we could see the best Nuggets team we have seen to date. And also, we’re about to see the best version of Nicoola Joic because he is going to have guys who he plays well with. He is going to have help, you know, backing him up. He is going to be rekindled with Bruce Brown. Like Bruce Brown, no coincidence, he played his best basketball ever playing alongside Joic. I do think Bruce Brown could get back to that level that he once was at. And you know, you have more shooting now with the additions that you made. Can Jamal Murray stay healthy? That’s that’s another big question mark. But obviously, you know, that tandem with him and Yokic is still one of the top in the game. So, I love what the Denver Nuggets did this off season. And I love that the front office didn’t just sit back and waste away another offseason as they did an off seasonason ago. They recognize Joic being an all-time great player already, best player in the NBA still, in my opinion, they had to go out and do something. And not only do they ace that trade for Cam Johnson getting the better player, but then that allowed them to have financial flexibility to then make the ensuing moves that now puts this team in a perfect position to compete for the NBA title. So, I think it’s going to be the Nuggets or the Thunder or even the Rockets if they click. But this Nuggets team, like again, look how far they took the Thunder with an incomplete team this past postseason. Now you do have a complete team. There’s no excuses. This team’s going to be expected to contend and compete and win a title. Like that is the expectations going into the season. This is a championship contender and I’m excited to see what Jokic can do with a competent complete roster. So let me know your thoughts. Are you looking forward to this Nugget season? What was your favorite signing? And how do you think the Nuggets are going to fare? Let me know your thoughts, guys. Drop a like on the video. Subscribe to the channel if you’re new. the nuggets made the best moves this off szn
Peyton Watson has the potential to be one the top defensive players in the league, his offense is horrendous. That can change he is a smart kid and seriously athletic.
Get rid of fragile Murray
The best part, is the depth chart shown doesn't even include Jalen Pickett at PG or Daron Holmes at 4/5.
Murray is making way too much money
You are assuming all the players getting better or the same as a year ago. Valanciunas will regress. He is getting old. He is a defensive liability. Bruce Brown is no longer the same guy as when he won the championship with Denver several years ago. Jamal Murray is not the same player. Injuries really took a toll on him. They may be top 3 teams, but maybe not contenders. Houston Rockets will be up there with the addition of Keven Durant. It’s going to be OKC, Houston and Denver. I’ll throw in GSW in there as they are never out with Curry on the team.
This is how easy it is to build a contending team around jokic. Just get him roleplayers who can shoot, cut and defend. That's basically it.
Unlike lebron who's forcing teams to mortgage their future to build a superteam around him and still can't win most of the time.
