The NEXT STEP For The Chicago Blackhawks #nhl #hockey #chicagoblackhawks

This is Connor Baddard and he is finally going to get some help from the Blackhawks. Well, maybe Chicago had a very quiet off season, making very few moves and adding nothing of significance. However, they have a good reason for this. According to reports, the Blackhawks were not happy with the veteran play they received from highly paid free agents last season. So, this time around, they wanted to try a different approach. According to Chicago’s GM, Kyle Davidson, quote, “We didn’t want to put any players in front of some of the young guys that we do think are ready.” Now, we have enough young players that there aren’t enough spots for all of them to play, but we do feel that a couple of them are ready to take a role and run with it. Essentially, what he’s saying here is that the team didn’t want to overpay free agents and instead is going to rely on their young prospects to fill the limitations of this roster. Hearing this should make the fan base very excited. Sure, the Blackhawks are going to struggle this year, but at least they will finally have their future prospects learning and growing at the NHL level. And hey, it may not be the flashiest move, but trust me, this is going to be a much better route for the organization compared to last year.

  1. I’m old enough to remember the rebuild of 2007-2009, and this is starting to resemble that. Too bad Misa didn’t drop to Chicago, that tandem of Bedard-Misa would have been sweet, almost like flashbacks to Toews-Kane of yesteryear. But if Frondell can develop quickly, he can become Bedard’s “ Toews “ partner in due time.

  2. Let's see if this pans out for them, I imagine they're gonna test run it this year and see which young guys can actually play and then next offseason I see them trading a lot of young guys who struggled for nhl ready players to fill their missing roles and push for the playoffs
