Marlins vs. Nationals Game Highlights (6/15/25) | MLB Highlights
This is awesome stuff here before this father’s day affair at Nationals Park. The video tributes got some little ones throwing out ceremonial first pitches to their dads, the Finnegan family , the Williams family. We got them all here. Look at this. This is adorable, Josh Belvin catcher for his daughters throwing out a first pitch. Great stuff. Mackenzie Gore on the mound today. This is a guy that has always had the physical capabilities of an ace Ramirez. Now five for 11 in the series is aboard with one out here at the top of the first inning Lopez do up. Now a line drive to left center field down for a base hit for Otto Lopez. Wood cuts it off going first to third is Ramirez and the Marlins are in business. Here is eric Wman one for four with an RB I in the middle game yesterday, the 31 swinging away , he lifts it out to right field pretty deep. Alex call working back. He makes the catch shy the warning track but that is plenty deep enough to play Augustine from third base, a productive out for the second time this year and the second time in just over 630 days. Yuri Perez is on the hill for the Miami Marlins one away now and CJ Abrams batting third of the order stands in. Third baseman has dropped back the pitch swinging a line drive to the right field line that’s down for the base hit Cole speeding around second on his way to third Abrams on his way to second job waiting on a curveball there and was able to hook it down the line and fair. And so Abrams one for one in that spot and with a leadoff walk, the Nationals have an early opportunity to get on the board. And now Luis Garc-a Junior, he kicks, he fires garcia swings and grounds one right side runner breaks for the plate run will score the throw to first by Edwards in time to get Garcia for the second out of the inning , but he picks up his 29th run bat of the year tying the game as call scores Abrams over to third with two out and Josh Bell coming up, it’s now Miami one and Washington one from, I want a ground ball to the back end of the second baseman Edwards diving stop. He pops to a knee, he throws to first and Wagman held the bag in time for the final out but the Nats played a run to tie it. Dane myers leads off the top of the second inning facing Mackenzie Gore one one pitch Myers rips down the left field line that is deep and that is gone. Dane Myers. Dane time drills the ball down the left field line and he went hunting the hottest bat for the fish. Takes another run on Gore’s Ledger Myers, his fourth homer on the year and it’s 21 fish brings up javier Sano waving swing and a mess at an elevated fastball. And so Noah has struck out the first strikeout for Mackenzie Gore. Here is sanchez from the left side, the kick of the pitch swinging at a mess. He struck him out a fastball up and in out of the zone, but Sanchez could not lay off. So now, Augustine Ramirez who single to left center two on two out. Now the pitch swing and a miss, he struck him out with a 96 mile an hour fastball to end the inning. Here is Kert Ruiz Ruiz hitting 2 52 10 doubles, two homers, 23 runs batted in the Ruiz swings and lines one to center that’s going to fall in for a base hit. Ruiz a two out single, the second hit and Jose 10 will come up the third baseman in the ninth spot in the order one to two into left center field. Myers and Hernandez are converging Dane calling for it. Dane cuts in front of Eriberto Hernandez to make the catch one away three walls, two strikes on Wageman. Here’s the pitch he got him on a curve. So Gore has strikeout number four. Gore needs the out here runners lead 2nd and 1st and the 22 pitch check swing did a fouled tip off his bat. Yes, it did. It clipped the bat. So that is strike three and Gore able to strand a couple as he gets strike out five, alex Cole. So it’s called wood and a call left side, it gets by the third baseman and makes it into a safe at first on a very high throw. Lopez did all he could after hustling to the ball and should be a base hit all the way for the Nats leadoff guy who’s on again at second. What? At first two down now for Josh Bell, a switch hitter from the left side to third base picked up by Sano takes a step, throws across the diamond to first in time, but the nationals can’t score no runs ahead to left Augustin ramirez leading off the fifth facing Mackenzie Gore three one pitch, ramirez swinging away. He lines it into right center field that gets in for a base hit. Augustine has a multi hit day. That’s a leadoff single to open the top of the fifth. The batter, Otto Lopez retired Eric Wageman will stand in delivers swinging the ground ball to short Abrams to his right. Has it to second to garcia relay to first. That’s a 643 inning ending double play barker. This is his 24th appearance of the year 2 to 0 record of 4.55. Er, a James Wood first to face him that would cut on and missed fouls held on to by the catcher Fortes and backer went to the sweeper and a hit by pitch, puts a runner on with one away Luis Garc-a Junior. Now the pitch swinging a line drive base hit to right field, Abrams speeds around second, he heads for third. Garcia will make the turn and hold as Jesus Sanchez gets the ball into second base that one. A blistering drive by Abrams off baker. The Nats have runners on 1st and 3rd. Josh Bell has bounced to second bounced to third. Bacher fires garcia runs again that a bouncing ball over to third seo plucks it on to second for one on to first in time for the double play. Baker rolls the ground ball when he needed it. Most is pitching in back to back days here for Washington facing 91 and two in the Marlins batting order here in the seventh showing. Bunt nick Fortes. He pushed Bunson towards third. Here’s a throw to first and it’s not in time. Infield. Bunt base hit for Nick Fortes. That’s his second hit of the day. He’s two for three on the inning starts with the little small ball. We’ll see if the Marlins continue to play a little small ball potentially here in the seventh to try to scratch across another run and now Edwards showing bunt a little push on to third. Here’s the throw to first and it’s not in time there. A pair of bunt base hits for the Marlins to begin the top of the seventh inning at bullpen. You talked about 29th in baseball. Why not keep applying the pressure? Here comes Augustine Ramirez, the kick of the pitch chopper slowly hit past them out racing and Abrams quick trigger to first and they get the out there and now the Marlins have 2nd and 3rd with one away for Otto Lopez and the 30 fastball is high ball four. So Lois works around Otto Lopez and here comes Eric Wagman who is bounced into a team high seven double plays this season 21 in the air to center field Hassell circles around it comes in and makes the catch Fortes tags. Here comes the throw, not in time, throw back to first, not in time there. A sacrifice fly for eric Wageman. That’s his second sack fly of the day. And the Marlins have a 3 to 1 lead. Do your job. If you’re not at the plate or in the field, you’re coming to the plate. ST had a responsibility and he did so perfectly. And now the potential tying run coming to the plate and CJ Abrams in the bottom of the seventh inning, Miami three Washington one chopper hit towards third Soha charging under the grass scoops to his left side, snaps it on to first for the outs retired in the seventh inning and there’s one away. Now, josh Bell winding the pitch swinging to drive hit well to right field that’s over the head of Sanchez and one hop off the bullpen fence bell around first makes the turn trying for second and the throw is off line. He’s in with a pop up slide, third double of the year to second base. The nationals will bring the tying run to the plate. The two two pitch is cut on and missed Tyler Phillips got a change up off the outer black and Lowe chased it. Robert Hasselt. The third is zero for three today and the first pitch in on Hassel’s hands, it’s a little flair and a pop up over to short Otto gloves it and that in the inning, Freddie TNO, welcome back to the major leagues. First one away. Righty hitting call is one for three with a walk today. 22 from a ground ball right back to the hill could be two on the second for one X is throw to first in time for the game ending, double play, an exciting way to end it a fun way to end it. And that is a sweep. Marlins lock up their first series sweep on the year.
