The Pittsburgh Steelers Are WAY BETTER Than Everyone Thinks… | Steelers News |

With NFL training camp less than a couple of weeks away, the Pittsburgh Steelers are gearing up for a massive season. And let me tell you this, throughout all of rookie mini camp, OTAAS, and mandatory mini camp, there has been a lot of Pittsburgh Steeler players that are positioning themselves to potentially break out this season that could potentially change this organization now and for the future as well. And in this video, I wanted to kind of break down and explain why I believe not only the addition of Aaron Rogers, but more importantly, what they have done to this roster is going to place them in a position to shock the world. Okay. Now, before we dive into the video, I do want to ask a question or I want you guys to comment down below actually. Two players that you believe that could break out this year that could be an X factor for this team. It could be a rookie, a secondyear player, a veteran, maybe someone they just traded for. Who are two people that you think could be huge for the Steelers going into this season? With that being said, let’s break down why this team is about to shock the world. Now, the biggest thing about the Pittsburgh Steelers right now is their quarterback situation. Obviously, you draft Will Howard, but you also bring in Aaron Rogers. And a lot of people, man, did they not want Aaron Rogers here in Pittsburgh. But also, there are a lot of Steelers fans who did right now. I believe that he was the only player that they could have gotten to make them a contender, I guess you could say. Do I really think that they can win a Super Bowl? I don’t know. It’s going to be tough, but I think they have a chance, and I think this is their best chance. Now, look at this play here. The defense is going to drop back into what we call a cover four defense here where you got your four quarters or yeah quarters, right? You got your uh flat, your seam flat, you got your uh your mid read, and then you got another seam flat over there as well. Right now, essentially what we’re looking at are these safeties. Now, I feel like towards the end of last season, Aaron Rogers started to do a really good job getting into a rhythm here. It took him a little bit, but he did get into it. The first thing he’s reading is a safety as he’s going towards the middle of the field, we kind of generate a one-on-one opportunity. Okay. Now, whenever you have a DK Mechaf or Garrett Wilson in a one-on-one situation, those 50/50 balls are really more like 6040, 7030 balls, right? So, you throw this up, but look at the the catch here by Garrett Wilson. Unbelievable. DK Mechaf is a player that I think is going to have a tremendous tremendous amount of um potential with Aaron Rogers. I think these 101 situations is where they’re going to spend a lot of their time. But you also have a guy like Calvin Austin, right? And you know what? Let’s just look at it. Calvin Austin, Robert Woods, DK Metaf, Roman Wilson are the four guys I think that will be really, really good uh going into the season. However, there’s been a lot of talk maybe Keenan Allen comes over here, plays with the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’ve heard he wants to be in LA. We’ll see whether or not that’s true. Um, but man, if you add a Keenan Allen to this roster, a route runner underneath runner, a route runner to Aaron Rogers offense, it’s going to be phenomenal, right? Alongside DK Metaf and Calvin Austin, you have three guys, one 50/50, more like a 60/40 uh catch guy. you you would have Keenan Allen, insane route runner that you can, you know, have short intermediate routes with. And then Calvin Austin, he can take a top off a defense by just using his speed. And then again, you have Roman Wilson and Robert Woods, two guys uh they think can have really big seasons, especially Roman Wilson, man. They think uh Roman’s in for a big big year. If they don’t go Keenan Allen, uh Roman Wilson could just be the next man up. Now, let’s not get it twisted. Even though they have a new quarterback, some new weapons, right? I mean, you add John Smith as well alongside Pat Frymouth and Darnell Washington. They have so many weapons, right? But the one and most important thing is going to be the offensive line. Last year, they ranked 29th in the league, almost dead last when it came to stopping teams from getting to the quarterback. 9.1% of the time their quarterback was getting sacked. That is terrible. That is terrible. Right? So, they’re going to have to fix that. And let’s be honest here, their offensive line is filled with high potential players, but very young players. First round pick back in 2023, Roger Jones. Second round pick, Zack Frasier. I believe he’s going to be one of the best centers in football. I think he’s got that potential and I think year one for him was really good. If he could build going into year two, watch out. Right. Mason McCormack, same thing. I thought he looked good last year. Had a lot of development to do. Uh did he do it? We’ll see. Right. Revitano, first round pick of last year. Three of your starting five offensive linemen are draft picks from last year. That shows you how good or how good potentially Omar Khan is at drafting. Okay. So, I am excited about this offensive line. Isaac Smile, we know how good he is. Rodri Jones, right? These guys got some work to do. But if this offensive line can continue to build on what they were doing last year, it will be a step in the right direction, which is what you want to see. But let’s talk about the newest weapon that I am, you know, kind of I’m obsessed with. I think this is going to be a huge huge piece of their team next year. Let’s talk about Caleb Johnson. But one of my favorite players on this Steelers team right now is new running back Caleb Johnson. I believe this dude has the potential to be a freak of nature. Okay? I believe he’s got all the ability in the world to be a threeown running back outside of his pass blocking ability. Okay? And you guys are going to sit here and say, “Well, that’s a big part of it. You need to be able to block for your quarterback.” ranking 29th in the NFL in terms of protecting your quarterback last season is just not good enough. Right now, what I love about Caleb Johnson is one, he’s got an insane work ethic. The habit of wanting to get better and grind every single day is there. He’s got that ability. He’s got that mentality, right? But ultimately when it comes to pass blocking, he’s got one of the best mentors you could even think think about having in Jaylen Warren. Okay. And every single day of mandatory mini camp, OTAAS, and rookie mini camp, they established a routine. Okay. The routine was improve pass blocking. Go work at it every single day. That’s what they’ve done. and they said they’ve already seen insane improvement out of Caleb Johnson. Ultimately, I am super excited about DK Metaf joining this Pittsburgh Steeler team. I do believe he adds a new dynamic to this offense, very similar to George Pickkins, and I wish they still had George Pickkins. I know he’s a little bit of a headcase at times, but that duo would have been insane, but they wanted to get off it. They did. DK Mechaf was a very similar replacement, but adds that dynamic back to the offense, right? And right here, they’re going to run basically a little curl, have some priest that motion with the tight end. We’re going to slowly run and then boom, we’re going to dart up this field. Now, they’re kind of in a switch thing here where Kyle Duggar, number 23, at the bottom of your screen, is supposed to be in a deep zone, right? And you can see Christian Gonzalez has a kind of a midfield zone here. So, he starts to switch. Kyle Duggar never switches in time. And boom, it’s too late. DK Meetaf is a huge wide receiver, but if you don’t position yourself the right way, he will beat you every single time. Look at this. Just blows by the defense. Again, this is a great option for Aaron Rogers. Now, defensively is where I think the Pittsburgh Steelers did a lot of good things. And I could probably sit here for a good 15 to 20 minutes talking about everything they’ve done with this defense. However, I’m not going to do that in this video. Talking about Derrick Harmon, why Black, right? Jack Sawyer, Darius Slay, Juan Thorno, Jaylen Ramsay, who they just traded for. I think that’s a major addition to Darius Slay, Joey Porter. I mean, this is going to be huge, right? Then you have Cory Trice and Beanie Bishop. Man, this team got a lot better. And Bran Eckles as well, I think could be a big player for them.
