Is There Any Fixing The New York Yankees?
[Music] What up everybody? It is your boy Bad Dog back with another New York Yankees video. I went with the old school intro today. Also have a very bright shirt on if you can’t tell. It’s not bowling night, but I’m wearing a hammer shirt. Don’t ask me why. Anyway, thank you for clicking on the video as always. Appreciate it very much. If you want to do me a favor, hit the thumbs up because it helps. Consider subscribing to the content. I’m quite a character. I like to yell. I like to discuss. I like to do whatever it takes. But I am a fan. So, hit that thumbs up. Subscribing the bell. They don’t cost anything. If you do, if you are kind enough to subscribe, just make sure you click the bell for all notifications so that YouTube, if they actually do their job, you’ll know that I did a video or I go live. Um, the next few days, we’re going to do videos about the Yankees. Well, we’re going to do player things next. I want to do a video about Jeter. might piss some people off. We’re going to do a video about Aaron Judge. That might piss some people off, you know. Stay tuned for those. It might not either. I mean, I’m a reasonable guy. Anyway, some people say that I’m unreasonable when it comes to the New York Yankees and my expectations about the New York Yankees. And perhaps that’s true. Be it fair or not, I say it every time. The expectation here is to win championships. When you don’t, it’s a considered a failed season. Now, I know you can’t win it every year, but the fact of the matter is since 2000, the Yankees have won one championship. Okay. One in 25 years. 2001 to 2024. I guess that’s not quite 25 years. They’ve won exactly one championship. And this team right now, they ain’t winning a championship. Ain’t close to championship caliber. It’s not even close. The Yankees have reached the break. They are 53 and 43. They’re second in the AL East. And I still think they’re going to the postseason. I just feel like they’re they have to. I mean, there’s no great teams in the American League. Detroit’s pretty good, but I don’t feel like there’s any great team and I don’t feel like our division is very good. The Yankees may even end up winning the division. I I don’t think it’s a very good team or very good division, rather. But I do think that Toronto is better than the Yankees. And I do think Tampa Bay is better than the Yankees. I don’t know if Boston is, but I think Baltimore could actually surprise people at the second half of the season, too. Uh the Yankees just are not a good team. And I don’t know what’s going to fix them. Now, you can sit there go, “Bad dog, you’re crazy.” Like people say to me, “Oh, you’re crazy. just won the World Series last year, but that was last year and they didn’t win it, so who cares? Listen, man. I’m not in things for participation trophies. When I compete, when I’m playing whatever I’m doing, I want to win. I don’t I don’t do it just say, “Oh, I competed in it. If I’m going to play it, if I’m going to compete in it, I want to win.” That’s what I’m there for. If I’m playing Texas Hole, I’m there to win, right? If I’m playing a pickup game of basketball, those days are long behind me, I’m there to win. If I’m bowling, I’m there to win. That’s I’m there for. I’m not there to say, “Ah, that’s okay.” You know, I was part of it. That’s not me. I don’t want to say I’m part of the World Series. They didn’t win the World Series. They’re 53 and 43. And while that may not be a bad record, this is why the Yankees are extremely flawed. And I don’t know what’s going to fix it. The funny thing is, even though they have lost 16 of the last 21 games, we’re talking 37 games, guys, since June 3, they were six and a half games up in the East, now they’re two games behind. In 37 games, they’re 16 and 21. I know in in baseball, there’s ups and downs. It’s a long season. You have good streaks, have bad streaks. That is not a streak. That is a chunk. That is a quarter of a season. 16 and 21. Reminds me a lot of 2022. They got off to a great start and then they played 500 baseball the rest of the year. And the only reason they got to 500 baseball at the end of the year is cuz they won like 11 out of 13 or something. They were not good. And this year it’s the same thing. They’re 16 and 21 in their last 37. And out of those 37 I’m sorry, out of those 37 games, right? In nine of those games they’ve scored one run or fewer. That means zero or one runs. If you did that over a whole season, you’re looking at 40 losses immediately. Maybe we’ll say 38. Maybe they win a couple games one- nothing. I think they’ve won one game one nothing this year against Kansas City. Maybe they’ve won another one somewhere that I don’t remember. But when you do that, you’re already behind the eight-ball when you can’t score because you’re inconsistent. And and ironically enough, as bad as the Yankees have played and as the record is 53 and 43, there’s still a 12.7% chance to win the World Series. Isn’t that crazy? And if you want to bet on the Yankees going to the postseason winning world series, what better place to do it than Bet US. Go over to Bet US. You can enter the promo code YouTube150. When you gamble, please do so responsibly. never bet more than they can afford to lose. I found it amusing that they’re a 12.7% favorite, if you will, to win the World Series, even though a really bad team. Why are they really bad? The funny thing is, if you look at statistics, and if you know me and you know my channel, I’ve said this and it’s usually about football that statistics only tell half the story. You look at the stats, the Yankee stats actually aren’t bad. They’re hitting I think 256 as a team which is a far cry where they were a couple years ago when they were hitting like 230 as a team. Okay, that that’s they’re better than that. But you also have to look at where they’re getting this from. Aaron Judge is hitting 358. Aaron Judge accounts for about 25% of the Yankee offense if not more. And he’s 11% of the lineup. Well, those are not good odds. All you got to do is do this Darren Judge. four fingers up there and they’re putting him on base and he can’t beat you and somebody else has to. I think Bellinger was a good pickup. He’s had a good year. I think Chaz Chisel’s got some power. Yankees have power. There’s no question. They have seven guys already in double digits for home runs over at the All-Star break. The problem with the Yankees is this. They don’t get it done in big spots. And there’s a lot of things that they do that don’t show up on the scorecard or they don’t show up at the box score. The Yankees seem like they make tons of errors every night, but they’re actually like above average in errors committed. I think they’ve only committed 46 errors, which might be like the 11th best in the league as it was somewhere in there. I don’t remember the exact statistic, but that’s not bad. But just because you don’t make a physical error don’t mean there’s not mental errors being made out there. Look no further than last year’s World Series. Look at that fifth inning. They committed two physical errors. Judge dropped the ball. Vulpi threw the ball away. goal struck. Cole struck out two guys in the base loaded. Mookie bats hit a weak ground ball to Rizzo and they stood there with their fingers up their ass looking at each other like are you gonna do it? Are you gonna do it? I don’t want to you take it. Bets is safe. Dodgers score and Dodgers go on to win the game. That mental error that doesn’t show up in the box score as a physical error cost the Yankees game five. I’m not going to say it cost the World Series. We don’t know what the hell happens. The Dodgers had a commanding lead anyway. They’re going back to LA. Not gonna say the Yankees are going to win the World Series, but they had a really good chance winning that game if they got out of that inning. I think they would have because the Dodgers would have said there was our opportunity and went by the wayside instead. They took advantage of it, which is what good teams do and they went on to win a World Series. The Yankees have too many of these gaps. They have too many holes. And it seems like when the moment is magnified the most, this is when they fail. They’ve left the second most runners on base in the entire major leagues. That is not a good statistic at all. You have guys like Anthony Vulpi, who I’m just going to continue to ride. I’m sorry. He’s not good. I don’t know what Boone’s obsession with Vulpi is. He makes bad throws. He makes bad fielding decisions. Like the other day, he ended up costing Yankees run because he threw the ball to first and the guy came around second base or, you know, he went around third and scored a two outs. Like, you got to eat the ball. You know, you’re not throwing the base run around. You got to eat the ball. Just keep it in front of you and make the next guy get a freaking hit instead. Stupid play by Bulpi. It doesn’t count as an error, but it ended up costing the Yankees a run. It’s things like that. And again, this happens at the most inopportune time. They come up with guys on base late in games. They don’t get it done. It’s just there’s so many inconsistencies with this team. How do you fix it? Well, that’s a great question, right? How do you fix the New York Yankees? This is why people ride Aaron Boon. You can’t just turn over an entire team. And Aaron Boon is not a good manager. And I’m not trying to defend Aaron Boon here. Aaron Boon’s a clown. Aaron Boon’s a mama’s boy. Aaron Boone is a wuss. He’s a wuss. He wants to cuddle everybody. He wants to be everybody’s friend. All right? That’s not a manager. Okay? That’s a babysitter. Are you babysitter? You freaking ball Are you big league ball manager? What the hell are you? The problem lies with Brian Cashman. I I’ve been saying this for 30 years. Brian Cashman does not get credit for the dynasty. He came here in 98. That core was already there. He added some nice pieces, you know, and he spent a half a billion dollars on Terara Sabbath and Bernett in 2009, you know, he brought over Matt Suie and he and he added, you know, um Nick Swisser and whatever, but the core four were still there. The the main cord that Yankees were still there. The guys that won all those World Series were still there. Brian Cashman has no limits to how much he spends. That’s not the way you develop a team. It just isn’t. plugging guys in here or there. I know that baseball is, you know, out of all the sports, you really don’t depend on one another as heavily as you do in basketball or in football or in hockey. You literally have to depend on your teammate to get your job done almost every time. You got to depend on the quarterback’s got to, you know, expect the the lineman to block in front of him. He’s got to get the snap. He’s got to have the receivers catch the football. You know, all kinds of stuff like that. There’s a lot of playing off of one another. In baseball, it’s not so much, but there’s got to be some kind of unity there. And I feel like if you build prospects from the ground up and these guys come up through the farm system together, they get a rapport and they get a good chemistry. I think it goes a long way in the locker room. These are other things that we don’t see. How afraid is the locker room? Are those guys friends off the field? Is it cold in there? I don’t know. I’m not in there. What I do know is that this formula that Brian Cashman has done here since 2000 does not work. He throws tons of money at all these players. A lot of times they come in there, they underachieve. I’m not going to go through the list because it’s ridiculous. We’ll just say Jacobe Ellbury and we’ll leave it at that. Okay, the Yankees got to get rid of Brian Cashman. I hear all the time, we’ve heard for 25 years Yankee fans about these top prospects, top prospects. Wolfie was a top prospect. He’s a can’t miss prospect. The only guy that has a miss is Aaron Judge. I’ve said this forever and I hear all about these other guys and the miners, the Spencer Jones and the Lron and they get up here in their ass all the time. All the time. Cabrera Paza, they where are these people nowhere to be found. And as the parade goes by, these guys are 26, 27, 28. This is when the Yankees seem to bring up their their guys. And if they bring them up young, they’re not developed. I don’t know what they’re doing in the minor leagues. I don’t know if these guys just can’t play. I don’t know what it is, but it’s a total organizational failure as to why the Yankees do this year in and year out. Why do they win 90 games, 92 games? Because they can go out and spend $300, $600 million on free agents. I’ve said this before, too, and I’ll say this to them blue in the face. Tell them as blue as my shirt. If you gave the New York Yankees the Tampa Bay Rays payroll, the Yankees would finish dead last in this division every year. Fact. Fact. How is Tampa Bay, who has one of the lowest payrolls in baseball, always competitive? How How do they do it? Well, they play fundamental baseball. They develop their prospects. They bring the prospects up. They They figure it out. They play good baseball. They score runs when they have to. They make plays when they have to. They don’t have an Aaron Judge. No, they don’t. You know, they don’t have a Cody Bellinger. No, they don’t. They didn’t have a Juan Soda. Juan Soda is a big part of the reason we made the World Series last year, too. We don’t have them either. They still compete. The Yankees, they have to outspend everybody to to compete. They’re not even winning. They’re not winning championships. You’re not outspending anybody winning championships. Now, you can say the Dodgers do that. The Dodgers also have a lot of prospects that they brought up that are their own that have won these World Series with them. I don’t know how to fix I mean this the way I’d fix the Yankees. I don’t really know if there is a fixing it until Brian Cashman’s out of here because to me you got to develop your prospects. You got to bring them up. You got to develop them. You got to play good baseball. A lot of that has to do with Brian Cashman. A lot of it has to do with Aaron Boon. I say it all the time. Team takes up the personality. privates head coach or manager in this case. He’s hoham la dah. Give him an ice cream cone. I don’t care. Blow my bubbles. Blah blah blah. That’s the way the team plays. It’s blas blas. You know, it’s aloof. That’s the word I use. He’s aloof. That’s what he is. Just seems really stupid and and he’s, you know, he comes from a baseball family and he makes all these bad decisions and he I don’t know, man. He’s just not a good manager in my opinion. Shouldn’t be missing with this team. He misses every year. I don’t know what else to say. Anyway, if you made it 13 and a half minutes, you’re a legend. Enjoy the All-Star game tonight. Uh, and I will see you tomorrow. Like I said, it’s either going to be Jeter or Judge. And hopefully not too mad when I make the video. But if you are, hey, it is what it is, man. Take it. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday. And I’m gone. Peace.

Baddog is a passionate fan who was born, and raised in the state of New York! I am A HUGE sports fan.
Baddog has a very strong, passionate, roller coaster ride of emotions personality which can sometimes lead to rant and rage videos, about his favorite teams, which many seem to enjoy. This channel is that of a fan, and nothing else.
My videos are done from that of my own perspective and views as a fan. I am a HUGE New York Yankees, New York Giants, & New York Knicks fan.
I do video, and live stream content covering The New York Yankees, New York Giants and Los Angeles Lakers, which has also lead to the nickname “LakerDog”.
You may ask yourself, “If Baddog is a Knicks fan, why does he do Los Angeles Laker content?”
The Reason for this is because I have a family, and because of my work, and gym schedule, streaming all of The Knicks games would be impossible, so I began covering The Lakers in late 2018, because most of their games are played at 9:00PM EST, or later.
Hopefully you guys & gals will find my content enjoyable and will continue to come back for future content!
If you do enjoy it, please make sure to subscribe to the channel, and click the bell for notifications. Also, please like, and share the channel if you would be so kind. Hope to see you on the channel!

Aaron room should be fired and general manager Brian Cashman should be fired too damn it
I feel like if we hang onto Jones he'll be the next Joey Gallo, if we trade him he'll be Jay Buehner… and yeah, 100% on your Cashman take.
Volpe is batting .214..Automatic outs and lousy fielders don't belong in pinstripes..Neither do lousy managers that make bad decisions that lose games like Boone..Same old song and dance in Yankee land. The Yanks were gifted last year with early exits from Detroit, Baltimore, and Houston.Doubt that's happening this year. The Yanks might not make it in, time will tell.
Also player development members of the player development of be fired
Yankee training corps should be fired
Yankee training corps should be fired
so Boone now that jazz hit the seams off the ball how about batting him 4th and Volpe 3rd. both are superstars right Boone
My choice for manager would be AROD. People don’t realize how smart of a baseball man he is. Just ask CC Sabathia.
The Fix. Get Cashman out. Get anyone that helped him convince Hal he knew what he was doing gone with him. Start over with a young thinking person as the GM. A GM who has a combination of a Baseball IQ, analytic IQ and the smarts to know the difference between the two and how to implement that in hiring a manager and coaches. Once that is in place keep the obvious worthy players pitchers and pen personnel and in 2 or 3 years we have a cohesive team with working parts in all areas and real Baseball leadership.
You could field a playoff team with all the players the Yankees traded to other teams. Why would you give the Red Sox a starting catcher, who is better than Wells?
I'm curious, what does everyone make of Gleyber making the AS game as….. A second baseman?! 😮😮 Does this say something about how the Yankees organization handles their talent? Or is it a case of a change of scenery? I suppose it could be a bit of both.
Sorry to say BadDog…there's no fixing this trash heap. They get completely shut down by southpaws, they can't hit, they can't field, they can't run the bases…Volpe is a disgrace, Peraza can't hit himself out of a paperbag, HR or nothing….bullpen is on life support…..no heart…no motivation….no fundamentals…..just a horrible watch and with Cashman and Boone running this circus they are going down in flames!!
Bad dog is the best . Love your shirt . I was PBA back in the early 80’s bowled a 300 with the black ureathane hammer at Garden City bowl seaboard classic. Anyway your last few rants were so enjoyable and so true . Keep em coming. We boo because we want to clap. How true Mr Jeter.
The reason you’re the best bad dog is because you’re very knowledgeable and say the truth. Most pod host don’t even know the deeper stats like I do and you do. I can’t wait for the Judge podcast. Cause I know you know what I know. The Volpe thing is so beat up now there is nothing left to say except we wait to see what they do off-season. Cause I can assure everybody he’s our SS the remainder of this year.
At least some of the problem is they Yankees rather have home run hitter with shitty batting average then guys that get on base, their defense is ify and to be fair they are missing 2 of their 3 best pitchers
I don’t agree with you on everything when it comes to the giants but I am totally with you on the Yankees and Boone gotta go
Firing Cashman should be plan # 1.That guy corners himself steady with bad contracts .
If there were a way to fire Steinbrenner, I'd say fire him and get an owner who cares about baseball and not just high finance. Things are different with Cashman. Him, we can fire. Until the Yankees do it, we'll see more of the same sad pretense of baseball.
This team has no fight. And no one player on the roster has enough balls to call out the rest of the organization.
You think Jeter would have taken this shit without freaking out in the locker room?
100% on everything you said it's correct.
No fixing stupid. Doing the same thing, expecting better results
So glad the rays owner sold. Maybe they'll spend money
Dog. I’ve listened to this pod 4x . I feel like I’m listening to myself . NOBODY says it like you and just so point on. I’ve always said it’s not how many hits and Home runs you get it’s
“ when you get them” makes all the difference in the world . Home run or bust all or nothing and no clutch .check this stat out . Last 68 PA with a runner on 2nd and nobody out they have 0 RBI. Think about that and why does that say!
When the yanks and giants are pissing you off, watch Reasons "the hit" in Denver, always gets me back in a good mood.
Volpe has pictures of Boone cheating on his wife with Suzyn Waldman
I will never understand how Boone hitting ONE HOME RUN in 2003 as a backup player in a tight spot qualifies him to be the coach of the New York Yankees. He can’t run a gas station much less a major league team with the pedigree of the Yanks.
Get rid of Boone he's been failing long enough now it's time to make a change me with cashman he's a failure as a GM you need new blood the way this Yankee team is constructed they are not built for o championship now and the window maybe closing on for some players
it's not just Boone, the entire org is sticking w Volpe…they seem to hold on to players too long:
Sanchez, Gallo, Hicks, LeMahieu
Boycotting the all star game because no soto 😮
2028! I will keep saying this every chance I get: this team will not change until after the '27 season. Boone will have a job until '27. The Yankees will do a soft rebuild after the '27 season. Brian Cashman mismanaged the payroll for many years and Cashman has set limits on how much he can spend. He HAS to get that payroll below $300M, but they are so top heavy that it's just about impossible. When you ask yourself 'why,' just use 'payroll' as the answer.
Can the Yankees be fixed? Not likely, but if they can they have to renounce at least the last 50 years of being a disgusting bush league franchise that only buys "championships". Scout, draft and develop players. They haven't "won" a championship since before the free agent Era. That's about 50 years. 1996, 98, 99 00? BOUGHT!!! 09? BOUGHT! Do something besides opening up the checkbook! Although I hope they don't. Can't fail enough!!! #fucktheyankees
Is there any fixing the NY Yankees? LOL Um. NO. Of course not…. so long as Cash and Hal are running the Organization. At least Hal will spend some money. And he'll oversee the bringing in of some great talent, and great players. But Cashman is awful. He brings in the wrong talent – at the wrong time. He's obsessed with 32 and 33 year olds. LOL He holds onto talent until it has no value any more. He gets rid of good talent too quickly. In reverse of the moves he should make. He has no feel for it. People talk about The Yanks winning the 2009 title. LOL With 70% of the Team that Stick Michael built. Cashman is a joke. He makes himself the B1ch of all of MLB – every single year. At the trade deadline every year, and in the Winter. You have to know MLB GMs look at him like a lil' bich. It's hilarious. He gets his lunch eaten…. just about every year. The only thing saving him from total disgrace is the franchise's money. The ability to go sign free agents. That's it. And even then… he is incapable of building a winning roster. He lets the little computer nerds in the front office run it. He's not a baseball man – and neither are his little computer minions. The guy is a joke. But…. he will NEVER be held accountable. Never. Also – for those of you who disagree. Then why is the same ole' $hit every single year? Why are we one of the worst situational hitting teams every single year? Can't ever hit with RISP. Leave tons of runners on base – esp in scoring position. Excellent Bull Pens most seasons. But roster full of holes, and usally not great starting pitching. Better lately… but injuries. He signs old players to long, destructive contracts. Absolute RELIANCE on the HR. I mean… damm. Same ole crap. Every. Single. Season. And yet… he gets a pass for 20 years. Ridiculous.
Teams go through slumps but this is a pattern every year with the Baboone led Yankees.
Sorry Baddog, Genius Cashman is stuck in his ways and inflexible. Hold on to all of the prospects. Have the players swing up, do not worry about ks and do not stress fundamentals. I have said it before and I will say it again. Even if the Yankees finished last, the Yankr=ees will do the same thing and expect different results. Fill in the blank. The definition of ___________________________.
