3 years ago today: Matt Carpenter goes off for 7 RBIs vs the Sox. His season OPS at that point? 1.406

God those weeks were so fucking fun
We should bring him back and have him play third

Marp getting injured destroyed our offensive rhythm.
Was at that game. Always fun seeing them destroy the Sox.
Man those were some amazing times. I was so excited to see him up and he got so much love from Yankees fans. Deserved it. Still love him
I was at his first two games for us at the Trop, first Yankee hit and RBI one night and first homer the next. I just thought oh that was cool and will be one of those “remember when this guy played on another team late on his career?” moments.
Never thought he’d go Barry Bonds for a month and a half. Man that was awesome
The Marp Linsanity run deserves an honorable mention in the Hall of Very Good.
Was a magical season with Matt
Good times. We loved the stache.
I miss Carp 🥺
Carpenter can play the highlights the rest of his life. I would still want to know where he would have ended up had he not gotten hurt. He was locked in that season as a part-time player.
The 2022 season started off so fun. We were 49-16 at one point. We got to the all star break at 64-28. Matt Carpenter was one of the best stories all year, and it was overshadowed by Judge suddenly turning into a demigod.
And then we finished the year 35-35 and got swept by the trashtros. This included a stretch where we went 4-14. Eerily similar to the 6-16 stretch we just had.
This entire stretch of the season was a fever dream
