The SCARY TRUTH About The New York Knicks SIGNING Ben Simmons
Like nobody on the Knicks outside of Jaylen Brunson could bring the ball up the court. That’s the only reason why they lost. Indiana puts pressure, you turn the ball over. Indiana puts pressure, then you extend your offense and now you know Carl Anthony Towns got to play one-on-one from the top of the key the entire series. I think Baron Davis made a very good point at the beginning of the video talking about how the Knicks need another ball handler next to Jaylen Brunson to take some of the pressure off of him. Now, they did go out there and get Jordan Clarkson free agency on a vets minimum contract, but the question is going to be, is that enough? Personally, I don’t think so. Clarkson is not a backup to Jaylen Brunson. He’s basically replacing campaign, but he’s not campaign. campaign was a good ball handler that could pass the ball, but against the Pacers, he fell out of the rotation. So, Clarkson, he’s kind of just like Deuce. I know they play differently, but I’m saying his type of role to where he’s going to be asked to shoot the ball, facilitate a little bit, of course, and yeah, that that’s kind of it. There’s no pure playmaking going on. Those guys aren’t taking the basketball up, whereas a Tyler Kick, for example, or who I’m about to get into is going to do that. And let’s talk about Ben Simmons. So, I’m not the biggest Ben Simmons fan, but I’d be lying if I said he wasn’t a great fit for the Knicks because he’s 6’10. The Knicks need more size. Even though they do need a ball handler, more size certainly will go a long way for the Knicks because the past couple of years, they just really haven’t had that. Seems like every team just is bigger, more physical, and stronger than the Knicks, more athletic. And that’s why Ben would be perfect. But you have to understand that he’s not going to be aggressive scoring. He’s not. He’s probably going to score five points if that a game. He can’t space the floor. And also come playoff time, is Ben going to be playable is the thing here. Whereas Lander Shamut was not only playable but very, very good. Who’s going to come down to the last roster spots between Shamut and Simmons right now? I think the Knicks are prioritizing Ben over Shammit. Obviously, I don’t have any sources in the organization, but from what I’ve read from SNY and Ian Begley, it seems like that’s exactly what’s going on right now. So, I’m looking at Ben Simmons. If he does get the roster spot, his ability to switch everything would be phenomenal. I think defensively and rebounding, which defense, a huge part of defense is being able to grab a rebound, which is why the Knicks were the number one defensive team. Not this January, but last January, the best month in Knicks franchise history was because they got every rebound. Like, defensively, if a ball hit the rim, Hartinstein or OG or Randall or or Mitch, right? I think Mitch came back by then or maybe a little I think Mitch came back a little bit later than that actually. But the Knicks were getting every single board. They could switch everything. Well, that’s what Ben does. You look at Tyrese Hallebert and you look at who’s out for the season. I get that. But you look at like Aaron Nesmith and and all these boys and Andrew Nehar when they beat us. If Ben Simmons was out there and a screen is set like Turner were to come up and set that screen, Ben is able to switch that and because he’s 6’10” with a massive wingspan, he can get a hand on it. he can get in the passing lane and then once the ball is shot, he goes up and grabs the rebound and then he can push it because he’s so athletic and he’s just going to make everyone around him better. That’s the thing. But also in half court and when the game starts to slow down, what do you get from Ben Simmons? And that’s kind of the problem because you look at a guy like Malcolm Brogden that Tai Jones is signed at this point. We don’t even know Brogden is going to get bought out. We’re kind of hoping he does because he’d be perfect here. You look at like those types of guys in the half court, they’re going to be phenomenal because they don’t turn over. They can shoot and they’re incredibly efficient. So, you have to decide if you’re a Knicks fan. Do you want the defense? Do you want the size and the length? Or do you want the smaller guard who won’t give you the defense but will be able to run the offense next to Jaylen Brunson or just in the second unit? Personally, I think the Knicks do need a legit backup guard unless they’re planning on using Tyler Kak. I’m not going to sit up here and be like, Tyler Kick just went absolutely off in the summer league yesterday. Clearly, he’s ready because the first two games I thought he was flat out terrible, but it goes to show that the Knicks should probably play him because he’s only going to get better. And by the time you get to the playoffs, well, Cole just played 82 games as the backup guard. He’s going to be ready to go. So, the Knicks have a decision to make. I I personally don’t think they’re quite ready to play Kevin McCuller. They’re quite ready to play Tyler Kick and Pomeier in these boys. And of course, I do think Muhammad Diwara will get that second round exception, but the only reason for that is because it’s cheap and the Knicks don’t have money. They’re they’re right below the second apron only because Yaba took a slight pay cut. Originally, he was going to take more money, but they would have put the Knicks in that second apron. So, that’s what Nick Knicks fans are going to have to decide down in the comment section below is what do they want? Me personally, it’s tough because I think Lander Shamut makes the most sense because he can shoot and he can defend, but also the Knicks did go out there and certainly bring in Jordan Clarkson. They brought in Yapilli, so they got some guys that can shoot and can score. So, do they go the defensive route? Do they go the playmaking route? I I would have honestly loved to see the Knicks be able to bring in both Ben Simmons and Lander Sham. I think that’d be pretty cool. Or maybe they want to bring in Russell Westbrook, right? Russell Westbrook certainly can handle the basketball. and he’s been in a lot of big moments, but once again, he’s sort of like the smaller Ben Simmons because in the half court, what do you exactly get out of Russ? If you’re pushing the pace, then yeah, Ben Simmons and and Russ are going to be good. But if you’re in a half court type of slow pace offense like the Knicks usually run, Lander Sham is going to be the move. So, I think Ben honestly, he can play multiple positions. He can defend multiple positions. I think he has the best opportunity to see the floor because if you look at Lander Shamid like where exactly would he even come in because back up one Clarkson and then Tyler Kolick and then at the two is Deuce McBride and then at the three I’m going with Josh R assuming Mitch starts at the four Yabisale and then at the five Aerrol Porty so there’s no room for Shaman but all of a sudden if you’ve got Ben Simmons well he can play anywhere he can play point he could play the four he can play the five so depending on his role Like if the Knicks go up against the Bucks or something like that, they’re going up against Giannis. Well, Ben Simmons can take that assignment. OG, as much as I like him defensively, he’s not stopping Giannis. Not to say Ben Simmons 101 is doing that, but you know, OG is about 67. Ben Simmons is 6’10. So, when you’re defending Giannis, having three more inches of size on him certainly will go a long way. Like, could you imagine Mitchell Robinson protecting the rim and then Ben Simmons on him? So that’s the thing about Ben Simmons is from a defensive standpoint, he certainly will take the Knicks to the next level. But in terms of just like 3 and D type of wings that uh the Knicks were seem to be lacking. The Knicks did not shoot the ball well in the playoffs. And that’s when you look at Landrew Sham. But if it does come down to Ben Simmons or Landrew Shamut, you got to ask yourself, would you prioritize? Do you prioritize just like the safe type of guy or do you want the upside? I know you’re probably thinking, this is just my opinion. And I’m not saying I’m right, but if you want the upside, I think it’s Lander Shamic because in the playoffs, if you have a guy that can shoot 40% from three and defend at a high level, that’s very, very massive. But if you want just the regular season stuff, I think Ben Simmons would be incredible in the regular season. I think he’d completely elevate the Knicks. But when teams are focusing on you and it’s slowing down, I I think Ben is almost useless. Like he can get stops, but it’s just going to the How do you run an offense with Ben Simmons out there, right? Especially because Josh Hart and Ben Simmons and you look at Mitchell Robinson, you know, Ariel Pory like there there’s a lot of liabilities of spacing the floor. So you could play maybe like Ben Simmons next to like cat. I think that could work pretty well. Now you have two ball handlers, Brunson and Simmons. I don’t know. But we’ll see. It’ll be very very interesting. And obviously like I don’t have Ben Simmons in a Nick uniform and tape to go over and things like that. Um, like for Josh Hart, I could look at his tape and be like, “Hey, look, the Knicks are actually running some off ball sets.” And it I’m sure Mike Brown can get creative. He’s very, very intelligent. Very good coach, man. He is the winning percentage he does for a reason. But just as a Nick fan, someone who watches every game and has for their entire life, I just I don’t know how I feel about Ben Simmons, honestly. I think it’s interesting. But yeah, let me know your guys thoughts.

Look I been saying this for months
Keep shammet and add on Ben
Reason why
Because look at this from this point
We have shooters
With bridges duce shammet and Clarkson
We don't have a back up point guard.
Ben is perfect fit
Why he can play all 5 positions.
I'm a pretty good knower of human being and I say go after Ben Simmons he's ready to comeback and show how he use to be as a beast he is knicks give him the opportunity to show he's back with revenge to show the NBA that he's pretty much the monster beast that people talked about as a professional exceptional player BS … Let go get him BS can guard 1-5 Knicks it's worth the the chance…
I need a team that tell Ben they don’t want him to shoot and want him to play his game cause he was elite a few mistakes but everybody makes mistakes
Shamet is not even worth being on the bench
Look i know ben simmons aint the sexy pick but it would be a good one if the knicks play him at center powerfoward or back up center. When you look at him on the clippers then use him strictly at the 5. Thats the only way i see him being effective for them. The shooting stuff is overrated because i think ben is a guy that does everything else elite but shoot and score. They already play with 1 non shooter in the lineup mitch and hart but again he pass better than them guys and is more mobile ill say ben defense is better than hart because he taller. Mitch is not a post scorer he cant pass the ball he not always quick or mobile enough. Ben at the 5 would open the team up in the half court because he can just set screens and roll to the basket
Simmons and Mitchell Robinson on the floor at the same time would be a terrible offense.
The NY Knicks might sign Ben Simmons and then cut Simmons way before the regular season starts.
The Knicks could find someone far better than Simmons to fill in the final Knicks roster.
The NY Knicks need a fourth PG for insurance, if any Knicks PG gets hurt
NO! NO! NO! Simmons is a head case…
Knicks need a playmaker Ben Simmons can pass
Bd just suit up you would be more than enough 👍
In Darth Vader voice "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Simmons is trash💯‼️‼️
Simmons is a head case. Get CP for a year and see how it plays out or get Westbrook and tell him to chill on wanting more minutes.
Why do yall keep listening to these people say stupid 💩 then reposting
Really nobody on the Knicks but Jalen Brunson can bring the ball up the court? Jalen was literally the only person who couldn’t get the ball up the court because of the full court pressure. Bridges and Hart had to bring the ball up the court. Smh bye
We all know Jalen and kat want to score ben gonna give them the ball
They need to defend the perimeter. Ben Simmons would definitely be an x factor not shamet he’s inconsistent in my opinion. They need to play kolek for sure. If josh hart could stop being inconsistent with his offense maybe we won’t be lacking three point shooters. Smh. We don’t need to Ben to be a scorer just effective on the perimeter. I believe he can make a difference. Everyone else got deficiencies. A lot of starters were very inconsistent so getting Ben should not be a decline if the starters start showing up. In my opinion. Brogdan, shamet, Clarkson can’t achieve double doubles anymore Ben probably could do it more than often if given the chance. I could see it clearly. LGK!!
I dont like the kmicks newmposotion on doing business with lebron, rich Paul and clutch sports one bit
When did this happen?
