Jalen Williams on how life has changed since signing a $287 million extension: “It’s surreal… it’s wild because it happened really fast, like within the span of three years, my life is completely different. But yeah, I mean, it’s cool. I’ve been fortunate enough to retire my parents.”

Everybody liked that
Both of Williams’ parents served in the United States Air Force
retire mine too bro
I like to think if my kid ever earned millions of dollars I’d be honored that they gave me so much that I’d never have to work another day in my life….but would also have zero idea what to DO afterwards. Outside of traveling to their games what else is there to do? Both my wife and I just waking up in our 40’s/50’s with no responsibilities? Sounds like a dream that I’d enjoy for a few months before I guess finding a gym to work out in everyday and a support group of other adults who retired early to bullshit around with.
It’s easy to state you’d travel the world but what do you do after that???
He continues on this trajectory and he’ll be able to retire his brother with his next contract
Hey it’s me, your mom
It’s sweet he’s looking after his parents
he knew he was retiring his parents back in college lol.
I like the energy of the interviewer
I like this guy. I wish he played for the team i root for
Hey its me, Jalina Williams, your auntie – please check your spam folder
Glad he was able to do that for his parents.
He seems pretty down to earth and humble. I like him.
Funny enough you can retire my parents with only 90k usd here in the Philippines
I really hope he has excellent financial advisors
It’s 229. He need to make all nba next year
he can retire 50 parents with that money
More like “Its pretty nice that my great, great grandchilden will never have to work a day in their lives.”
The money in the NBA is out of control.
Humble dude- very likeable! Curious though why/how he’s doing clothing shopping in Japan. I’m 6’2 and struggled mightily to find clothes that fit me there, so I can’t imagine how hard it must be for him to find clothes that fit. What am I missing here?
[Files paperwork to adopt Jalen Williams]
Me and my friends were just having this convo.
Who wouldn’t give enough money to their at least immediate family to have them all retire.
That’s best like probably probably 3 to 5 mil each. Unless you have a MASSIVE family. That’s not too bad
He’s got another year before he sees that money.. he’s still on his rookie deal so the extension hasn’t changed one thing, unless he’s borrowing off of his future earnings which would be stupid.
What a noble goal. Can’t be many things more rewarding than taking care of those you love.
I love how J Dub seems as annoyed with that interviewer as I was
It’s the most natural thing on earth but I still just fucking love when players get their big payday and buy their moms houses and stuff
take care of your chickens my friend
Great young man. His parents deserve it.
I always feel really happy for these guys when they get paid like this. Gotta be an amazing feeling
The OKC young guns seem to be smart and sensible lads. The way they handle themselves outside of the court, I mean it’s really easy to root for them.
I’ll always admire guys for taking care of their parents. I wish I could do the same.
nicest TMZ reporter
This is awesome but NBA salaries are getting out of control (even compared to other sports)
My current favorite nonpacer. Well, him and jaylin williams
Williams was the biggest surprise for me on the OKC this year, what a killer
I hate that the Thunder has likable players.
My favourite player that’s not on my team
Just wanted to compliment the questioner. He wasn’t super paparazzi like and seems down to earth himself.
Bro who more chill JDub or SGA
Hes still on his rookie contract no? Not that a 1st round rookie scale contract isnt life changing
Yessirrrr
Totally deserved!
Hey Jalen I could use like 1% of that if you’re down <3
This interviewer hasn’t driven on Oklahoma roads,
