Did KD Blame Kyrie For Brooklyn Nets’ Implosion?
Are you guys on KD’s or Kyrie side on who takes the blame for what went wrong in Brooklyn? So KD hopped on the mind of the game podcast with former Nets head coach Steve Nash and a lot of people are saying that KD is trying to point the finger at Kyrie. When you think back to our time in Brooklyn, what do you think of? I had just signed that deal. you had just signed a deal, but I feel like we were secure, but everything else around us was going to like it was just so much stuff going on around us. I feel like we were locked in on the same page and understand like we trying to do something special here, but and I felt like your hands were tied a lot because you had to as a coach, you got to deal with so much. You didn’t get to coach as much as I wanted to. That’s what it was. I didn’t think we didn’t get the full Steve Nash like I wanted. You know, there’s going to be a response. Kyrie tweeted that he’s going to respond to all that in his next live stream. So, I’m going to be sure to watch that because, you know, there’s always more sides to a story. But to me, all of y’all are the blame. KD, Kyrie, James Harden, and Steve Dash. You guys got to own that disaster. You got the coach and the players you wanted at the franchise that you wanted. You created that. So, what happens after that or during that is on you guys. But what we thought was going to be a super team and a renaissance in Brooklyn basketball set that franchise back for years. But I’ll be sure to make sure to hear what Kyrie says for my next morning take.
On the July 17th, 2025 edition of the Morning Take, Brandon London reacts to Kevin Durant and Steve Nash discussing why things didn’t work out for the star-studded Nets in the early 2020s.
