Your results from day 1 – while Michael Barrett got the highest-upvoted single comment, just edging him out on total points was Geovany Soto. Paul Bako was 3rd with the most total mentions (by my count), and Henry Blanco and Koyie Hill round out the top 5 as the only others with more than 100 total votes.
Onto day 2! Who is the most "Some Guy" first baseman to play for the Cubs?
Rules reminders:
- There's no set criteria for a Guy to be remembered – they're players from the past that you don't think of that much, but occasionally pop into your head, usually to get a low score on Immaculate Grid. Generally, they're not too good or too famous. If we're talking about the Bulls, then Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen aren't Guys (nor is some random G-leaguer who played one game for the Bulls), but Randy Brown, Jud Buechler, and Bill Wennington? Definitely Guys.
- Post one (and only one) nominee per top-level comment, and vote for the ones that you deem to be the most "Some Guy".
- Nominees should be primarily (or at least largely…utility players are welcome too) known for playing the position they're being nominated for.
- No rule set in stone for how long they had to have spent on the team, but this is "oh yeah, I remember that Guy", and not "who??"

Three words:
FRANK
THE
TANK
(Schwindel, it should go without saying.)
Hee-Sop Choi.
Eric Hosmer
Mark DeRosa. I remember being impressed that he started at every position other than catcher, pitcher, and center field
Hector Villanueva. Yeah, I missed nominating him yesterday for catcher, but he played 26 games at first. So, he’s a guy.

I know it’s a very recent player. But Frank Schwindel and his 2021 season is going to be an all time “remember when…” conversation piece.
Frank Schwindel. For one glorious year we had a dude named Frank the Tank. I loved all the photos of him that popped up all over Chicago. Dude was taking it all in.
