$10 million seems high IMO. He had over 80 points but that was the first time. Maybe if he does it again and better? Idk. He’s a good player that’s for sure.

  1. As a canes fan who watched the first 400 games of his career, I can say that he is fully capable of being a $10M player, and I agree that there will be a team out there willing roll the dice with such a contract. Problem is, he can disappear at times during the season, which is something $10M players should never do.

Next year, he could score 100 points or 40 points, and neither would surprise me.

  2. I think with the way the cap is rising agents are going to continue to ask for bigger and bigger money.

  3. I’d like to see what necas does away from MacKinnon.

Necas is more of a puck carrying, play making winger. He can carry a line and I think he would do well with a scoring center like Nelson.

I don’t feel like Necas is fully utilized with Mack.

I’d prefer to see nuke with Mack as I believe he would put up 50 goals there if he plays 80 games.

Lehky and lande both play well with Mack so id try them both with Nelson and Necas and see how the chemistry is.

The trouble with rantanen was that he couldn’t carry the 2nd line and at 12M+, it forced the avs to load up line 1. A 10M Necas is ok if he makes the 2nd line a real threat because the last time they had a great 2nd line (nuke, burakovsky, kadri, lehky) was the year they won the cup.

  4. I firmly believe that Necas wants to play for a specific team and it just hasn’t come out yet. Or he wants to be in a situation where he is promised to play 2C or even 1C. I find it crazy that it seems like what he was requesting in Carolina was what he got in Colorado but still thinking about leaving.
