And it’s going to start here with this matchup between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres’s. The Washington Nationals, no starter confirmed the time this video is being recorded for the San Diego Padres’s. I am seeing Dylan CE listed as the starter here. Now, unfortunately for a lot of the matchups entering Friday after um as this video is being recorded or these videos are being recorded, excuse me, uh there’s still a lot of blanks left on the uh starting pitching sides. So hopefully we can update those for you Friday morning when we do have, you know, more of a uh an idea of who’s starting, but these are just the initial looks that we’re looking at. And you know, for me, I see the Washington Nationals here going against Dylan CE. When you look at CE and just sort of how CE entered the All-Star break, you know, he wasn’t great. I think that’s just sort of putting it nicely. You know, entered giving up four runs on four hits on the road at Cincinnati. Went at Philadelphia, four runs allowed on on eight hits over six innings of work with four strikeouts. At home against Arizona, gave up six runs on five hits over six uh innings of work. So, he’s had his fair share of issues and it hasn’t necessarily looked like the Dylan CE of old the the Dylan CE that I’m sure the San Diego Padres’s were hoping they were getting when they acquired him, you know, prior to last season. But the thing is is that even though CE has struggled, he still is, you know, that pitcher that has a great repertoire, a lot of strikeout potential. So, he’s top 10 in baseball and strikeouts and faces a Washington lineup that is really not anything special against right-handed pitching. I mean, entering the All-Star break in the month of July so far, the Nationals second worst in baseball in isolated power against right-handed pitching. Their team OPS numbers are bottom 10. The batting average at 238 is just below league average, but still nothing special there either, and I think that they could struggle here against Dylan CE. Now, deise does have an 0 and6 record and a 6.27 erra on the road, but I think that Washington could be a spot where Case could maybe improve on those numbers. Now, on the other side, you’ve got the Padres’s who in the month of July were terrible offensively in terms of, you know, their their their numbers. I mean, this is a team that in the month of July is hitting 200 against right-handed pitching. Their team OPS numbers are some of the worst in baseball, second worst. Their isolated power numbers are just outside the bottom five. and a 233 BabIP is second worst in baseball. So for me, I’m just I’m not interested in backing the San Diego Padre. And that’s only against right-handed pitching, believe it or not. You know, the numbers have been solid against lefties, but over a a short sample size. I I this Padres’s lineup for the better part of the last month, month and a half, has really been ineffective against lefties. So I’m not interested in backing the Padres’s here. I’m not interested in backing the Nationals against Dylan CE to be honest. So, I’m going to roll with the under in the first five. I think if there’s any runs that are scored in this game, it’s going to come later in this game. And if the Padres’s are going to want to break through, I think it’s going to have to be against this Nationals bullpen that, you know, has a 6.17 staff erra in the month of July. So far, you know, I if you’re not interested in playing a first five or you’re you’re a little bit weary on the side, maybe go with the Nationals team total under if you think that they’re not going to be able to break through against CE or this Padres’s bullpen, which has been sort of the shining light of this Padres’s team over the last couple weeks. I mean, uh, bullpen RA top five in baseball in the month of July at 2.45. So, for me in this one, I’m going to roll with the under in the first five in in this one. I like I said, I wouldn’t be opposed to a team total under for the nationals here either. and that’s going to be my free pick.
