MLB LIVE🔴 Miami Marlins vs Kansas City Royals – Jul 19, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO

John Shambi alongside Chris Singleton. The first half of the All-Star break is behind us and partner, it’s go time in the second half. And if you want to be playing meaningful games at the end of September, you got to put your head down and grind for the next eight weeks. It’s the Kansas City Royals taking on the Miami Marlins. All right, we’ll be back to get this one started after this. Just about set to go now. Starting on the mound in this one, Yuri Perez. Chris, how about a scouting report? Well, this guy’s just been filthy out there on the mound. Hitters batting under 200 against him, and they’re just having a hard time squaring up anything, doing any type of damage. The only way he hurts himself is if he gives up the free passes and surreners a rare home run. But outside of that, it’s going to be a tough job for the opposing lineup today. Jonathan India leading things off but takes a strike. First hit 14 misses off the play and a count one and two. See if you can go upstairs a little bit. Make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading to count one too. Don’t miss in the zone cuz that’s where you can get hurt. started after it. Appeal to first and yes, he offered at it. Now here’s Bobby Wit Jr. Seems like he’s making contact with everything lately. Hitting better than 350 this month. And first off is fouled off. [Music] There’s a strike. Oh, this guy’s so comfortable hitting with two strikes. Even a good pitch early in the at bat. If he’s not ready to pull the trigger, he’s not worried if he gets to an 02 count. Close one. Doesn’t get the call. And the count is one and two. I think he wanted that call on the upper part of the zone, but just didn’t get it. Now he’s just trying to get a better feel for how much it missed. So he can adjust his sights just a little bit. One down. Base is empty. The shorts stop takes the ball. This guy’s a fun guy to watch taken at bat. He just battles up there. He doesn’t take a pitch off at all. Makes it so difficult on the pitchers out there. You can tell they get frustrated with how long it takes to put him away. Popped up. Hicks and makes the grab. And there are two outs. And here now the lineup for the Royals getting guys across the plate. Not exactly a forte for them this year as their offense is in the bottom third of the league in runs scored. Boo. It becomes extremely frustrating and then what happens is guys press, especially in run scoring opportunities and situations. On top of that, I mean, you really make it harder on your pitcher. He feels like he’s got to be perfect to go out there and win a ball game or at least to put the team in a position to win a ball game. So, they’ve got to figure out a way to relax, get those runners across when they have them on and especially when they’re in scoring position. Little bit high and one and one and that’s fouled off. Two outs. Base is empty. [Music] Next pitch misses. Two and two. Two two the count. stays alive. And that’s in the dirt. [Music] And that one hammered. That’s back there. And out of here, a monster shot to right and the Royals take the lead. It’s one- nothing. Boog. His plan was to hit the ball hard and he was going to figure out the rest later. You can’t argue with those results. Looks like this guy was looking out over the plate, but he was ready to turn on the inside fast ball. So direct to the pitch. Absolutely blasted out of this ballpark. Two outs, nobody on. Now the third baseman, Mikel Garcia. Looked like it was a little bit up. Counts one and0. [Applause] Good zip on that fast ball at the bottom of the zone. If he’s there all day, it’s going to be a tough one for the hitters. That to right and that’ll do it. Royals strike first on this solo homer. It’s now a one- nothing ball game. It’s Major League Baseball and it’s on the show. Back here in Miami. And today’s starting pitcher, Noah Cameron. What do we have on him? Well, he’s been a real quality starter for his club. And coming into this one, what stands out for me is that right-handed hitters have really struggled batting below 200 on the year. It seems that they have a hard time picking up his release point and tracking the ball into the zone. So, we’ll see how right-handers do against him in this one. Bottom of the first, leading off Xavier Edwards. He’s going to finish with a new careerhigh in stolen bases. Chris on the ground to short with tosses to first. One gone. bottom half of the first. That exact time now for the Marlins lineup, a guy who’s been huge for them over the last month plus, Xavier Edwards. This guy had an on base percentage of over 400 last month. That’s just telling you he’s taking his walks. He’s getting his knocks. He’s finding some holes. Everything just going really well for him right now. But don’t overlook the fact that that happens because he’s having consistently good at bats. Jesus Sanchez at the plate and takes high there. One out. Base is empty. Foul ball. Lifted in the air left field. Pretty well struck. Ray makes the grab for the second out. Hey man, four pitches, two outs. That is an excellent base. Two down. Base is empty. And up next for Miami, Augustine Ramirez. He’s got pop, which is a little sneaky because he’s so comfortable with taking his base hits to the opposite field, but he can jump you if you make a mistake. Foul. Yo, one. Try to get him to chase on the change up that time. That one misses in the dirt. and down on strikes. And a nice inning of work there as he sets him down. One, two, three. Nothing to do for the Marlins. Still behind by a count of one to nothing. Back here at Lone Depot Park. Top of the second. And now it’s Salvador Perez to the play. Perez back to work and that one in the air center field. Ramirez makes the grab. One down. Almost a loud start to the inning on that first pitch. Man, he’s going to want that one back. No doubt. So, up next, Jack Leon. hammered down the right side but foul. Fouled off and they’ll do it again. [Music] got him looking as the fast runs back over the inside corner. Oh, just a beautiful fast ball on the inside corner for that backwards K right there. I think the hitter saw it all the way coming from that opposite arm angle. So, I got to think he was looking away and just got locked up by the hard stuff boring in on his hands. And a pitch on the ground right side to first. Third out and that ends the frame. Royals go down one, two, three, but they lead it one to nothing. And we’re back. Now it’s the DH Kyle Sters. Kyle Sters measures 6’2 in 215 lbs. And they went out and made a trade for him last season. Close but called a ball. And that’s ball one. And another ball. Ricky Holidayiday, our umpire behind the dish, known as pretty fair umpire for both hitters and pitchers. Yeah, I think that’s right, Boo. There is a little inconsistency on the corners of the plate. You can’t always be sure how it’s going to go with those borderline pitches as the game progresses. [Music] I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Into center is belt flying after this one. Can’t get to this one. So, a man on base to start the inning. When you flare a ball out behind second base, it’s really a tough spot for anyone to get to. And you’re never trying to do that as a hitter, but when you do, I tell you what, you’re yelling at it the entire way to get down. Otto Lopez digs in now. not getting the results he’s wanted at the plate recently under the Mendoza line so far this month. The shorts stop takes the ball close but called a ball and the count is 2 and 0. Good spot there, but didn’t get the strike at the knees and doesn’t seem too convinced by the call out there on the mound as he tries to get a better sense of the umpire strike zone. [Applause] Just off the inside edge. Don’t want to get beat by a fast ball in and he spits on that one. Rudder at first with no outs here. And that drops in for a strike. It’s a good change up to hit up in the zone. I don’t think he recognized it. I’m sure he’d love to have that one back. Next offering is in for a strike with two strikes. May see some movement over there at first base. Trying to stay out of the double play right here. Can’t connect on the curve ball. Struck him out. I got to think that was the plan all the way. He set him up with a high fast and then triple down low and get him swinging. Now, especially with how effective pitchers work up in the zone these days, that’s a devastating combination. And now for the Marlins, Liam Hicks. That’s inside. And that is ball one. Tying run is at first. Bottom half of inning number two. Fouled off. He was late. And a swing and a miss there. You tie a guy up like that, you’re feeling like you are in command. [Applause] The one, two, in [Applause] fou. They’ll do it again. Sters the base runner at first with one out. That missed by a lot and the count’s full. [Applause] Gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. And a payoff pitch. Knocks that one away. And we’ll do it again. Ninth pitch of the at bat. Due next and ball four to avoid. Well, that’s a nice job of grinding out that at bat side. A lot of pitches and ends up drawing the wall. Very gritty. Two on, one out. And here is Dane Meyers. And that one fouled off. gets the outside corner with that one. Back door him with a breaking ball. Just got the corner. There’s nothing you can really do with that. Got him swinging. Oh, that was perfect execution of that curve ball down and in. He gets it out of the danger zone and you really can’t do it much better than that. It’s in the zone the entire way so you have to swing as a hitter but then just falls off the table and almost hits you in the back foot. Graham Paulie the next up for the Marlins in for a strike. It’s 0 and one. Strike two. And there’s a real chance they get out of this without allowing a run. Gets a piece and stays alive. First and second, two down. [Applause] [Applause] Outside low. Going to count one and two. Well, that’s kind of what you expect in an 02 count. Excellent job of the hitter to have the plate disciplined to lay off of that pitch. Hard hit right side. India over to first in time. Inning over. Marlins strand a pair and it remains one- nothing and welcome back to the ballpark. All set for the start of the inning. So up now for Kansas City. Freddy Fine. And that one clips the corner. [Music] [Applause] Foul ball. It stays nothing and two inside. Just missed. Boo. He never moved cuz he never had time to. But that kind of velocity, you’d prefer that pitcher work away. Two balls, two strikes. Next one misses. Three balls, two strikes. That’s a good at bat right there. He was down early in that plate appearance. Works the walk. What a battle. It’s not always easy laying off a 3-2 pitch. And I tell you what, he earned that walk. Isbel. And now it’s Kyle Isbel. Fast is outside. Foul ball there. [Music] The one-1 chopper rolls foul. The one two. That one down the line and foul ball. [Music] And that skips in the dirt. [Music] Comes the 2-2. Isbel tries to check his swing. Now look to third. Eddie says Dave Lawrence. Jonathan India at the plate. Second base. Jonathan India. This one popped up. Foul ground first base side. And there’s two down. The batter number seven, shortstop, Bobby Wit Jr. And now here is Bobby Wit Jr. First time up was a pop out outside with a breaking ball. Get out of here, boys. First, he takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it. So, one left for Kansas City, but they hold a one- nothing lead. Set for the bottom of the third. Here’s the catcher. Nick Forzick Forz. This one in the air. Pasquantino under it. Puts it away for the out. That was a good pitch to hit right down the heart of the plate. Had pretty good timing on it. Just got underneath it a little bit. Popped it up. Xavier back to the top of the lineup at the plate. Xavier Edwards grounded out his first time. Oh, he doesn’t get the call. And that’s ball one. Now a drag bun third base side and it goes just fouled. That one missed. [Music] The two on the way. And there’s a ball. [Applause] right through there. Got him. He’s notched four strikeouts now. Well, just couldn’t pull the trigger on the fast ball right there. And I don’t think he was taking it, thinking it might be a cold ball or anything. I just think he was flat out frozen. Did not expect that location in my opinion. Sanchez at the plate for the second time as he takes ball one. Ripped to short, the throw to first. Marlins set down in order. And the Marlins down quietly. They still trail one- nothing. Back here in Miami, start of the fourth. Here’s the first baseman, Vinnie Pasquantino. Pasquantino. That one a little bit high. Ball one. swing and a miss as he was late that time. Well, these Royals do a great job, Boo, of just waiting for the right pitch to come their way. And I’m seeing very patient at bats out of him. He’s only given up one run, but the starter’s pitch count is starting to get up there. And that might be the best news yet for this offense. That one off the mark. Two balls, two strikes. You know, sometimes all it takes is getting to the next arm before an offense does any damage. And that might be the case today. Hard hit to third. Throws across the diamond. Lead off hitter retired in the fourth. The batter, the third baseman, Mel Garcia. And here is Mikel Garcia flyed to right his first time. counts. One and0. One down. Base is empty. Nope. Outside. He hasn’t wanted to challenge him. Both of those pitches off the plate away. Don’t expect anything down the hard of the plate. You may just have to be patient and take your walk here. Check swing called strike and it’s two and one. Base is empty. One away. Top half of inning number four. The next offer. He misses. Three and one now. That’s good pitch there. Billy had some run and finished little up and end just on the edge. And that’s one of those if you swing at it. Hit a broken bat as you jog back to the dugout. fights it off. He’ll see another slides for the stop, the throw, and they get the out. Just so impressed with the movement on that plate. Footwork was excellent. The arm strength was there. And of course, the most important part was getting the out. Two outs, space is empty. Salvador Perez steps in for the Royals. First offering misses badly for ball one. And another ball. Well, usually a high level of confidence when you’re facing a young pitcher out there on the mound. In this situation, ahead 200, he’s put himself in a really good spot. Two outs. That’s ball three. [Music] in for a strike. Three and one. [Music] That’s a walk. Went with another change up and missed the spot. One of the things about that two out walk, the base runner over at first base is going to have a very aggressive secondary lead. go all down the line or into the gap will produce a two out RBI and those are the best. That is if you are the offensive side of it. Tag Leon in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike in the air left field down the line. Meyers makes the play and that’s the third out. No runs on no hits, no errors and one left. We’re midway in the fourth. It’s the Royals one and the Marlins nothing. [Applause] Back here in Lone Depot Park, John Chabi and Chris Singleton with you. And leading off the bottom of the fourth, Augustine Ramirez. Miami. Got it started a little too early. Strike one. He’s pitching well, but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn’t work out for success, but you can never predict baseball. That clips a corner. keeps the event going with a foul ball. [Music] Ca strikes him out for the second time today. That’s tough. You see it well. I mean, that was clearly open out of the strike zone, but that’s one of the hardest things. But when you see a pitch out of the hand at eye level, that discipline to remember I can’t hit that pitch. If I can see it really well at eye level, I can’t catch up to that pitch when a pitcher’s got this kind of velocity. And the batter now, Kyle Sters off the mark there. Ball one. Swing and a miss. There’s that change up. One and one. [Applause] That one well upstairs. Two balls, two strikes. That’s down and in. [Applause] Strike three. And that’s two in a row. Chris, as we look back at the pitch sequence, you hadn’t seen that curveball at all. How tough is it to adjust to something like that with a bunch of break when you haven’t had a look at it yet? Yeah, I mean, you’re dialed up for something firm. You never want to take a called third strike as a fast ball. So, you’re going to be a little anxious before you recognize the pitch. And right there, clearly didn’t see what was coming. Lopez takes a ball as he stands in for the second time. Two down. Nobody on. Tap foul at the plate. The 1-1 is fouled off. fans. Another and that’s three straight strikeouts. Miami down in order. They trail here one- nothing. New inning getting started. And to the plate for Kansas City, John Ra. Rave goes 5′ 11 in, 27 years old, and he was a fifthround pick back in 2019. Ball two swing and a tapper that rolls foul. That one missed. There’s a swing and a drive. Ramirez on the move and it’s a one hopper off the wall. Should be extra bases and that’s a leadoff double. These hitters today are so great with handling velocity. They’re seeing high speeds day after day and a nice job of turning that one around. runner in scoring position. No outs. Freddy Fine steps in for the Royals. Worked a walk in his first trip to the plate. Line drive. Base hit. Coming home. He’ll score. It’s an RBI single and they take a two-run lead. Went up there looking to be aggressive and got something he could handle. I could watch base hits like that one all day long and so could every hitting coach in the league. Just a nice line drive into center field. And now the center fielder Kyle Isbel 0 for one. He struck out swinging last time. Runner takes off heading down the line and that will drop foul. [Applause] The next pitch misses and now it’s even one and one. Meanwhile, activity in the bullpen. Calantrol, the right-handed sinker baller. He looks to be readying himself. Junk also throwing. [Applause] [Applause] to third. Paulie, here’s Edwards for one. Back to first and that is a double play. They made that double play look so easy, but it was far from routine. That’s the one thing about big leaders. They make tough plays look simple. Here’s the second baseman, Jonathan India. Old for two in this one. Swinging a foul back and that’s out of play. [Applause] Fast ball on the inside corner for a strike. Two down, base is empty, but one run across and we’re in the top of the fifth. [Music] Flew open a little bit with that front shoulder, but was able to slow his back down just enough to make contact with that pitch. Keep the at bat alive. Fights that one away and the count remains 0 and2. That’s foul off to the right side. Keeps the AB going. Swing in a liner. Base hit out into right center field and that keeps the inning alive. The batter number seven, short stop, Bobby Whit. Bobby Whit Jr. steps in for the Royals. He’s one of the faster guys just by pure sprint speed in the majors. Over to first and he’s saved. And there’s a strike. Good heater at 98. India leads off first with two down to the inning. [Applause] Hammers that one deep left field and forget it. A two-run homer and they add a couple more. It’s 4 nothing. That’s a swing that’ll boost the wind probability for sure. So, Singy, this is a little bit of a surprise. A guy known for line drives going over the fence. Well, if you’re a little too early, you’ll get some elevation in the ball to get out of the ballpark. For him, it’s kind of a mistake. But you know what? When you have such a good approach, every now and then you’re going to run into one. Now, the Marlins manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move to the pen. Yuri Perez done for the afternoon and he’s not going to be happy with himself. New pitcher on the mound in a moment. Now pitching forward. They hand the ball over to a new arm. Calantrol still pretty early in the ball game. So this bullpen has some work ahead of him. Best case scenario might be if he can come in here and get several quick outs. Kind of bridge the gap that starter left for him. So two away with nobody on. Vinnie Pasquentino steps in for the Royals. He’s already homerred in this game. And that one a little below the knees. One and0 [Applause] on the ground right side out number three. Two-run shot for the Royals this inning. It’s now a four nothing ball game. You’re dialed into the show. And we’re back. We head to the bottom of the fifth. And at the plate for Miami, Liam Hicks. Hicks. Cameron back to work and first offering is fouled off. You know, these Marlins just lacking discipline at the plate in this ball game. Chasing pitches has been a big part of the story. We’ve seen it quite a bit today. It’s been tough for him to make contact at times and it just doesn’t look like they’re seeing it very well as a group. Making four strikeouts in a row just cruising along. He had him out in front which isn’t easy to do against a hitter like this. Known for using the entire field just couldn’t sit back long enough on that one. Meyers in the box for the second time. One ball, no strikes. And on the mound, you know, confidence has to be pretty high with all of the swings and misses. He’s had them eaten out of the palm of his hand pretty much all game. [Music] The Fish down by four. Last half of inning number five. Swing and a miss. That is strike two. Man, he really sells the change up with that arm action. That one just misses. Really good take, especially with two strikes. That misses the zone and it’s three and two. Well, I think the key I mean if he can get through one more inning, anything after that, a hitter or two is bonus, but they should be lined up good enough to get to the finish line. A great back and forth that play off some really close pitches and somehow found a way to keep the bat on his shoulder right there. I’ll tell you right now, I couldn’t have done it. in the air left field, Ray. And there’s two away. Come on. The catcher number four, Nick Forz. Now it’s the Marlins catcher, Nick Forz. 0 for one so far. And a good fast ball to start him off. That’s strike one. That clips the corner. And a bat like this is almost over as it begins. In this situation, you have no idea what the next pitch is going to be. You just got to hope that you can make contact. Two outs. Foul ball still 0 and two. Now this one gets away from the catcher and now a man into scoring position. That’s a tough spot for the catcher. Boo. No chance of stopping the outside pitch and now the runner moves up. Those moments can be really frustrating. and a swing and a miss. Beat him with a fast ball. Marlins leave one. They’re on the short end of a four nothing score. And welcome back to the ballpark. Top six now. It’ll be the cleanup hitter for the Royals, Mike El Garcia. And that’s through there for a strike. And it’s 0 and one. Movement in the bullpen. Anthony Bender getting loose out there. Number 66, a left-hander also throwing ball. I got a ball. One strike. The one-1 is fouled off. And that’s in the dirt. Two strikes. All right, Miami. Pitch is in the dirt. Three and two now. That one misses. So a lead off walk now Patty designated. So a man aboard and now the DH Salvador Perez. He’s 0 for one. Runner runner runner runner on the go. Swinging a foul straight back. Come on, Miami. That’s a little bit low. Pickoff throw. Garcia back on a dive. So, a foul ball makes it one and two. [Music] just missed. Really good two- strike pitch right there. Surprised he was able to spit on that thing. Swings and misses. Struck him out. You know, varying speeds can be just as useful for a pitcher as movement. As you see right there, it really wasn’t a great location, but the fact that the velocity change had the hitter off balance and that’s all you got to do sometimes. This one smoked out to left. Drops for a hit. He couldn’t run it down. Throw into third and into second with one away. That’s a double. Love how he let that ball travel, trusted his hands. Nice job of going the other way. So, two in scoring position with one out. And next up for the Royals, John Ra out towards right center. That’s well struck. One hops off the wall. Should be extra bases. The run comes in to score from second and it’s now a six-run lead. He was all over that one. A welldeserved double on a great swing. Got everything going on time. He stayed balanced and he squared it up about as well as you could possibly ask. Man at second with one away. Freddy Fine steps in for the Royals. A walk and he’s also singled. And first offering is fouled off. One out and a runner at second. [Applause] Ball inside. [Music] [Applause] So a foul ball makes it one and two man at second foul ball still a one and two Now base knock right field coming home. Here’s the throw to the plate. It’s off the mark and he scores and they’re pulling away up by seven now. Manager out of the dugout and he’s going to make a change. That’s it for Calantrol. We’ll be back in a minute with a new arm on the mound. Now pitching the pitcher now, Valente Beooz. Well, they need someone to stop the bleed and keep the score right where it is. Seems like a tough task today with the way this lineup is swinging. So digging in Kyle Isel up the middle. There’s one. He’s out. And it’s a double play to end the inning. Three runs, three hits, no errors, and no one left on. Top of the order. two up in the home half of the six. It’s the Royals seven and the Marlins nothing back here in Miami. Bottom of the six and now it’s the switching second base Xavier Edwards. Edward late on that fast ball. I think he was sitting off speed there. And that one clips the corner and that skips into the dirt. fouls it off. Still one and two. That one is upstairs. [Music] [Applause] [Music] liner base hit and the leadoff man aboard. That’s right. The right fielder number seven. Dominant performance for him today. Boo. Just two hits allowed so far. No runs across either. And he’s had an answer for just about every hitter he’s faced. So I don’t think this hit is going to knock him off his stride too much. And now the right fielder, Jesus Sanchez. And the first pitch misses for ball one. Well, here’s a good opportunity in this inning to get on the scoreboard after that leadoff hit. And hardly order coming up right behind them. This is where they need to get going. Nobody out. Runner at first. That’s a ball. Bullpin action for the Royals. Taylor Clark getting ready to go. Lorenzan getting loose as well. Let’s keep it going. He swings and fouls one off. battling here as he fouls it away. Up and in. Three and two. Yeah, he should get a pretty good pitch to hit here with three hole hitter coming up if he’s walked [Music] and ball four to a board. Just missed his spot on the inside right there. Now batting center fielder Augustine. Augustine Ramirez the next up for the Marlins. Ramirez having a really nice first season in the big leagues. Definitely a rookie of the year candidate. In there for a strike at the bottom of the zone. Well, in this situation with runners on, you got to get ahead in the count so that you can dictate the rest of the at bat. Nice job right there. Miami ball that’s outside. So a foul ball makes it one and two. [Music] Just misses the mark outside the zone. No outs. Runners at first and second. Spoils that one and it remains two and two. Popped up right side and the infield fly rule called. Now batting the designated hitter Two on with one out. Kyle Sters the next up for the Marlins. One for two. And first offering is fouled off. The lefty closing in on 100 pitches. Two on, one out. Just missed. and misses inside. Could be some action here on this next pitch. Couple runners on. Probably a challenge pitch coming. Come on, you can do it. Runners at first and second with one gone. Come on, Miami. Hit on the ground. Might be two. The flip. There’s one out to first. Not in time. Great effort there. Oh, he’s doing a nice job of keeping the ball out of the air. Lets the defense work behind him with another ground ball. Good execution. Otto Lopez the next up for the Marlins who’s 0 for two with a pair of strikeouts. First pitch just misses. Ball one, no strikes. Breaking ball misses down and away. Struggled a little bit in this one. Couple of strikeouts earlier, but doing a much better job in this at bat to get ahead and find a good hitter’s count at 2 and 0. This one lifted in the air left field. nabs it and that will end the inning. Make it six shut out innings for him out there. Now it’s the Royals seven and the Marlins nothing. Back here in Lone Depot Park and now Jonathan India India there’s the strike up high going to one. Well these Royals simply put are producing a lot of quality swings. They have five extra base hits on the stat sheet so far and that tells me they’re seeing the ball out of the pitcher hand really well. Tosses to first and the lead off intercept down to open the seventh. Bobby Whit. Bobby Whit Jr. the next to hit. He’s already homerred here in this one. [Applause] With all those extra base hits, it’s easy to think we’re going to see that trend continue the rest of the game. They seem to be really locked in at the plate. Fast ball for a strike. I got one ball, one strike. All right, Miami. That one back up the middle and it gets through. So they get a man aboard with a one out single. The first baseman number nine, Vinnie Pasquantino. So up now for Kansas City, Vinnie Pasquantino. pulled hard, but it’s a foul ball. [Music] Swinging a ground ball and that’s a fair ball. Whit around second coming home. He’s safe and it’s an eight run lead. Comes through with the RBI. Wasn’t able to elevate that one, but he sure hit it hard enough to get through the infield. There’s not a whole lot of time for the defenders to react and try to make a play when it’s ripped like that. One down. And next will be the cleanup hitter, Mike Garcia. [Applause] First pitch misses. [Applause] Man at second and a foul ball. [Music] the 1-1. That’s ball two. He’s getting a little frustrated out there on the mound getting hit around a little bit. Let’s see if he can settle himself down. Runner at second here. One gone on the ground and that’s just foul. [Applause] swing and a high-fly ball to left. Meyers makes the catch. Two down. Now batting the designated hitter, Salvador Perez. Next is the designated hitter, Salvador Perez. He’s a catcher by trade, but the DH here in this one. drilled out towards left center field. That’s well struck. Forget it. Salvador Perez leaves the yard. His 14th of the year. And they add on. It’s 10- nothing. That’s their third home run of the game. They’re having a lot of fun at the plate in this one. They’ve got the long ball working for them on autopilot. A good hitter gets pitch recognition early. He saw exactly where that was going to be. The challenge, not get over anxious and come out of your swing. He stayed on it and got all of it. Now the Marlins manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move to the pen. Valente Beayoo won’t go any further and as he heads for the dugout, we’ll take a quick break. New arm on the mound when we get back. Now pitching. So, the Marlins go with a new arm. Number 66. I think it’s got to be a little tough coming in out of the pin when your guys are trailing so big on the scoreboard. Just doesn’t have the same intensity to it. But he’s got to find a way because these batters count the same for his stats obviously regardless of the score. Base is empty with two away. Jack Kaggle Leone getting ready to hit and first offering is fouled off. Two gone. Base is empty. But three runs across here in the top half of inning number seven. Brown ball to the right side. He takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it. But they strike for three in the inning. Two on this two-run home run. It’s now 10 zip. Major League Baseball is on the show. We’re back in a new pitcher here to start the bottom of the seventh. Taylor Clark. Compared to Sundays, this is a pretty low leverage appearance for him. So, it should be fairly free and easy out there. Still have to keep yourself sharp and attack the strike zone. Hicks stands in here, takes ball one low, and that’s off the outside edge. Two balls, no strikes. Highf fly ball lifted in the air right field. Kaggle Leone puts it away for the out. Up next for the Marlin. And up next for Miami, Dane Meyers. He is struck out and he is walked. Strike one. Fast for a strike. Quickly into an 02 count. Both pitches were down in the zone. I think you set your sights a little bit higher cuz you’ll have a tendency to chase if you look down in that area. That one in the dirt. It’s a ball in two strikes. [Music] Just missed. [Applause] And they’ll do it again. The Marlins with a lot of ground to make up here in the bottom of the seventh. Swing and a ball drilled in the air towards right center field. Isbel calls it in. Two away. Now batting the third baseman, Graham Paulie, the next up for the Marlinsley. Come on. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. Ball one there. Next offering upstairs [Applause] and that’s outside. First pitch strike from the pitcher, but then no panic at all by the hitter. very patient, showing good discipline. Now he’s in the driver’s seat with a 3-1 count. Ball four. Tried another curve, but couldn’t locate it. Maybe a little loss of focus on the mound right there. Pretty much gifted him first base with a quick free pass. Runner at first with two away. Nick Forz the next up for the Marlins. That one misses. That’s five straight. One ball in the dirt but kept close. And another ball. That one finds the zone. They’re now three in one. That’s a slider for a strike. 3-2. Two out. Runner on first. Lot of movement in the infield. Hitters got to stay focused on the pitch. So now two on and two outs. Go. A breaking ball in that 3-2 count kind of tells you that that’s the pitch he has the most confidence in right now. Just couldn’t find the strike zone. Edwards. So back to the top of the order. Xavier Edwards now at the plate. One for three. Swing and a miss. Nice change up. Oh and one outside corner. There’s the strike. Man, I’m pretty impressed out there on the mound right now. I mean, these are tough spots where pitchers really got to bear down. Those last two pitches were well executed. And that one upstairs, ball one. Pretty standard high 02 fast ball right there. If you’re smart, you’ll look for something down in the zone, but not too far. Don’t want to chase that breaking ball in the dirt. Paulie on second. Forez at first. Two out of the inning. Hey, you got this. This one in the dirt. [Applause] That one misses and the count is filled up. two walks in the inning already and he just doesn’t seem comfortable out there like he can find the right mechanics and then repeat them. India over to first in time. Inning over. Marlin strand a pair not looking good. They’re down 10 nothing. And we’re back. We go to the eighth and to the plate for Kansas City. John Ra. First pitch doesn’t find the zone. Miami’s bullpen with some action. Anthony Bender up and loosening in the pen. Swing and a highfly ball out towards right field. hauls it in for the out. The catcher number 34, Freddy Ferine. Freddy Fine steps in for the Royals. Miami. And the first pitch misses for ball one. Ball one. No strikes. Highfly ball down the left field line. Meyers hauls it in and there’s two away. Just pulled off of it a little bit right there. That front shoulder coming open instead of staying closed. If he does that, he’s going to be able to go up the middle the other way with some authority instead of a fly out to left. Isbel stands in now and watches strike one. This one smashed down the right field line. That’s a fair ball and it’s getting into the corner now. He’ll turn for second and he’s in with a standup double. Now batting the second baseman, Jonathan man at second here with two away. Now it’s the second baseman, Jonathan India. Ripped on a line to center. Dives. What a play. One of the most fun and exciting things you can do as an outfielder. You lay out, you make a diving catch, and you end the inning. That gets the team fired up in the dugout. And welcome back to the ballpark. Ready for the bottom of the eighth. Now the number two hitter Jesus Sanchez. Clark back to work. That one finds the zone. That’s strike one. All one’s the count. And that one missing low. One and one. [Applause] Swing and a foul out of play. [Music] That misses now. Two and two. Two balls, two strikes. Blows the high heat past them. That’s a strikeout. Augustine Ramirez the next up for the Marlins 0 for three in this one and a swing and a miss. Oh and one and that misses and the count is one and one. Base is empty, one away near the bottom half of the eighth inning. That’s a ball to the right side. He takes it on his own. Two up, two down. Now batting the designated hitter, Kyle Stworth. And now here’s the Marlins DH. Kyle Sters. That one finds the corner. That’s strike one. Had a breaking ball. Misses outside. Two down. Dominion on fights that one away. Still one and two. In the air out towards left center. Makes the catch in and over. back here in Miami. We go to the ninth. So up now for Kansas City with Bobby Whit Jr. [Applause] Check swinging a ball outside and that’s ball one. [Music] [Applause] on the ground to first. Hicks. He steps on the bag and they get the leadoff man in the ninth. The first baseman number nine, Vinnie Pasquantino. And next up for the Royals, Vinnie Pasquantino. [Applause] And that one misses up and in. And that’s ball one. [Applause] And another ball. [Applause] Pitch misses. Three balls. No strikes. [Applause] And there’s the automatic [Applause] late swing. Fouled to the left. [Applause] That’s ball four. Tried another fast ball but missed the spot. Up next for the Royals. One gone runner at first and now it’ll be the cleanup spot for the Royals. Mikel Garcia. Pitch misses and it’s one and0. And that one pulled foul man at first. One away. [Applause] And the slider just misses. Nasty back door slider. There’s really nothing you can do with that if you swing at it. So, it’s a good take by him. Highfly ball on that one. Curling foul down the right side. [Applause] Two down and a foul ball. He stays alive. Pasquantino at first, one gone. [Applause] Pitch misses there. Three and two now. And it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again. [Applause] and ball four to a board. Second walk of the game for him and he’s been really patient at the play. A game plan that he’s sticking to. He’s just not going outside of what he’s looking for up there. And next is the designated hitter, Salvador Perez. And first offering is fouled off. Little early on that fast ball. I’m sure the pitcher taking a note. Look for an offspe pitch on this next one. in the air. Foul off first. [Applause] Hicks makes the grab and there’s two away. The right fielder number 14, Jack Kagle. So, first and second with two outs. And to the plate for Kansas City, Jack Kaggle Leone, one for four with a double. [Applause] just missed [Music] [Applause] and that one sliced foul. Two on, two outs. Swings through that. One ball, two strikes. [Applause] That’s off the inside corner. And now two balls and two strikes. [Applause] Spoils a two strike pitch. And he’ll see another [Applause] swing at a line drive. base hit it to left field. The throw in now a dive for the tag and he gets it. Royals strand a pair but they’re still in front 10 to nothing. [Applause] Now pitching for back now as they hand the ball to a fresh arm to start the bottom of the ninth. Michael Lorenzan. Well, he hasn’t pitched in a while. Coming on here after five days rest, so he should be rested, but we’ll see if he has any rust to shake off. And now Otto Lopez 0 for three with two strikeouts and a fly out. Pitch misses inside and that is ball one. [Applause] Oh, that pitch is out. [Applause] Hit hard on the ground to short. Whit over to first and the leadoff man retired here in the ninth. The first baseman number 34, Leah Liam Hicks. The next up for the Marlins. [Applause] And a fast ball clips the outside corner for a strike. [Applause] And ball one. What [Applause] [Applause] do you got? Checks his swing, appeal to third, and he couldn’t hold back. He’s rung up on strikes. So, the bullpen doing a nice job backing up the effort from their starter. Yeah, we’ve seen some pretty excellent pitching out of this staff so far. I mean, they’ve come in ready to do their job and get outs. They’ve been pretty tough to get to in this one. And first off is fouled off. [Applause] Two outs. They’re down to their final strike. One strike away. Missed with a change up. Now one and two. [Applause] Popped up foul territory behind the play. And that’ll do it. The Royals take this one in a blowout. Well, we saw complete domination in this one. The offense exploded for a blowout and then the pitching staff nails. Locked down the opponent. This team did everything right today. 10 zip your final in this one. For Chris Singleton and our entire outstanding crew here at MLB the show. I’m John Shami saying so long. What the move?
