St Louis Cardinals vs Arizona Diamondbacks (7-18-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

[Music] of games on the docket here. Our third one, 955, 956. We’ve got an Andrew Andre Palante and the Cardinals at + 114. And Brandon F and the Diamondbacks -25. This total of eight and a half with some juice to the over at minus 125. Kenny, what do we think here? two uh look two surprising teams in different way. The Cardinals have been really really solid. They don’t strike out a lot. They’re getting good innings from some of their you know complimentary pitchers outside of Sunny Gray. Liberator’s been okay. Palante has been chewing up innings. Then Diamondbacks we’ve talked about all the injuries to their pitching. They have this excellent lineup. All this debate are they going to trade Euini Suarez to the Yankees or are they not? What do we think here? Diamondbacks Cardons. Can you end this one? This is one dude I I gotta be honest, I have absolutely no fuel for. I I think like handicapping the Diamondbacks, I think the next couple of weeks is just gonna it’s just going to be awkward for for lack of better words. I mean, they’re they’re very publicly shopping. I think a a good portion of their lineup here. I know Gallons Gallon’s on on on the block. So, I think when you’re a team like that that’s like, you know, what, you know, two years removed from from a World Series and your World Series appearance and now you’re you go, you’re selling at the trade deadline. It’s just I I don’t know how a team reacts to something like that when a season’s going off the rails. So, I’m certainly not going to be backing them in any spots. I just I’ve never been a Palante guy. He’s also somebody that I just never seem to get right. Um I feel like every time I attack him, he does okay. So, this is a game that I I truly could not [ __ ] tell you. I have no idea. But I’m not back I’m not backing uh the diamond backs. Yeah. And I’ve seen some people are saying they’re they’re having lag issues or whatever with YouTube. It’s not on our end. Sometimes YouTube’s weird or it’s on just hit the refresh button. That should fix that for you. Uh certainly not over here. This is actually brand new engine, new computer. I just had to buy my computer crapped out of bed 20 minutes after uh our show on Monday. So this is a brand new system here running uh running hot. But yeah, hit just just uh refresh and that should fix that lag issue uh some of you guys are having there. BDub, what do we think on this one here? Cardinals, Diamondbacks, what do you think on this one? You know, I I put out Arizona and the Dodgers as as my parlay yesterday afternoon. Um and the so Arizona’s the first leg of the base winner parlay. Uh, but that was, you know, they had Mel Kelly uh scheduled to pitch uh overnight and I don’t know why it’s changed. I haven’t really seen any news on it, but maybe it has something to do with the trades things. Anyway, they they they slot FO in uh Kelly I think was like a 70 base winner, so 30% better than average. And F’s just uh 9% better than average. He’s been super disappointing. Uh so the model really I I think it might have been like minus 180 on the overnight. Now it’s – 134. So, which is right where it is in market. But just to avoid confusion, I went with the Dbacks. I think that there’s some encouraging things about FOD. As inconsistent as he’s been, you look at his BBK, it’s 0.20. That’s a last 17 median. Stuff plus, which is a recent number, a last 30 uh days is 60 in the 63rd percentile. And then when you’re comparing these two pitcher strikeout percentage over the median, you’ve got FOD at 22.6 65th percentile. Uh, Palante 17.9% adjusted strikeout percentage, 22nd percentile. So, I think we get a little bit of an edge with the starting pitcher. Uh, but we have a really big edge from an offensive standpoint. Uh, the Diamondbacks third in baseball versus the Cardinals 21st in baseball. And the Diamondbacks bullpen has been much maligned and I think for for some good reason. But the way that I rate things, uh, they’re not as bad as you may think. 18th in baseball. The Cardinals do get the edge. They’re 12th in baseball. But I think it’s still good enough for the first leg of the base winter partly, which is what I’m going to make it, Kyle. Yeah, for me this is tough. These two teams, I like backing them. Uh especially the Diamondbacks are one of those over teams. They’re like an American League Orioles. Great lineup. Shitty pitching. You know, those teams can be fun to watch and fun to back at times. Uh for purpose, if I had I would lean the Diamondbacks here just because I’m not a big Andre Palante guy. But for purposes of the show, B-Dubs locking in the first leg of the base winner parlay.
