So, the Sharks are pretty intriguing because as alluded to, uh they do have a lot of money at their disposal. Now, it only takes a couple moves for them to sort of make that not a weapon anymore. for a team rebuilding like uh like San Jose who were terrible last year and probably aren’t going to be good for a couple years in my personal opinion. I think making a trade for Douggee Hamilton definitely makes some sense from a financial perspective. Like they have the young assets, they have the draft capital, they have the ability to take on his entire capid which could, you know, lower the price at the end of the day. But is this the best course of action for their timeline? Now, you can sort of argue both sides of this. Like Douggee Hamilton is when healthy, you know, one of the better defenders in the NHL. Like offensively speaking, can be probably a 50 60 point guy as alluded to as well. He can be a leader on a relatively young team. Uh he’s a big right shot defenseman, which a lot of teams sort of look for. And he can run a power play. And with how much skill this Sharks team has, you know, recently drafting Michael Misa, second overall, they have Mlin Celabbrini, they have Will Smith, uh they have other young good, you know, good young players on this roster as well. The Sharks could definitely use a player like this and they have the assets to make it happen. So, it’s a little bit inconsistent because you can make that argument that he makes a lot of sense, but also too, this team to me is not, you know, a Douggee Hamilton away from making a playoff push next year. Now, could they be by year two or year three of this deal? Absolutely. But does Douge want to go over to San Jose and play for a bottom feeder or does he want to compete for a championship? I think if Douggee had a choice, he’d probably want to stay in New Jersey and compete for a championship. But the Sharks make a lot of sense from a from a a financial perspective. It’s just the timeline. I think it’s a little bit too early. Uh but could this be a move that could happen? I guess only time will tell.
