Ben cheringtons trade run from 2020-2021 is one of the worst in pirates history.

  1. Most of the guys we traded away were on expiring contracts or just not very good themselves for us. The issue is probably more the moves we didn’t make. Outside of maybe 2 trades here, I’m not sure what we’re whining about. We were never going to pay Musgrove, so flipping him for a future all star closer is pretty good.

  2. Neal Huntingtons Archer and Cole trades are 100x worse than anything here

  3. Half the guys we got are gone or I haven’t heard of and one is on the lifetime ban list💔

  4. The only phone call Cherington should be allowed to take is the one telling him to clear out his office and turn in the keys. With each new embarrassment you think it’ll be enough to get some changes made and it’s just silence. Brown and Wehner barely talked about the game today, they’re just bullshitting with each other (actually quite enjoyed it) and reminiscing about Adam Hyzdu and Ross Ohlendorf. Guys in the studio are so awkward trying to find words for what they’ve seen. ANYBODY ANYWHERE would have blown this thing to smithereens by now but… nothing. The players know it too.

  5. So many of these trades you see guys coming back who don’t project as power hitters and are basically “Utility contact guys”. I’m so tired of that player type on the Pirates, because look where it has gotten them. The philosophy of getting guys who can “play anywhere” but not hit has led to a historically bad offense.

  6. This is the opposite of GMJR pens run in 2015/2016 where trade was perfect. All but 1 here is a disaster lol

  7. The Stallings trade was completely unnecessary. The others I dont lose any sleep over

  8. Yeah they’re terrible, but the big thing I noticed is that we never traded for anyone who was already being paid any amount of money. Pretty difficult to build a team when you can’t trade for anyone who isn’t being paid league minimum.

  9. The Bell trade – dude just came off a huge season and no doubt was shit when they traded him (he was at -0.5 WAR). Bell then proceeded to more or less put up similar production as soon as he left. I wasn’t a fan of the trade then and it rates as absolutely terrible. He was the first 1B we had developed in decades and we traded him for nothing.

  10. I was done the moment i heard Imanaga almost signed here but didnt because of refusal to put performance bonuses in his contract.
At least, thats what has been said here in Japan.
Yea even Japan knows BC is shit and gives this organization shit for wasting McCutchens career.
