The Chiefs are doing the IMPOSSIBLE and the NFL must take notes…
The Kansas City Chiefs are doing the impossible. And the rest of the NFL, they need to sit down, get their pencils out, and take some freaking notes. Let’s talk about that. Chiefs Kingdom, what’s up, baby? No gray here, tight end for your Kansas City Chiefs. You’re listening to All Chief Up with Mike and Steve Williams. Chief’s Kingdom, welcome in, baby. Welcome back to all chief up live stream. Let’s have a little fun tonight, ladies and gentlemen. Good to see everybody uh chatting it up already. You guys are getting it going. Appreciate y’all being here. Do us a favor. Hit that like button. It takes two seconds. It’ll help get this out to more people and we can have a good Chief’s discussion tonight. Mike, how you doing, buddy? I’m doing good. I’m doing good. Uh the guys are back at camp. They just they just got in tonight. Andy had a little presser. We’re going to jump into that in a minute. Uh we got a lot of stuff to talk about. A lot of info dropped today. We’re going to cover some of that. A lot of contract stuff. We got more stuff happened yesterday. Baby big news. Yeah. So, we’ll we’ll get on that in a minute. Uh before we get going, thank you guys for being here. Hit that like button if you haven’t already. Uh if you notice, we’ve got the uh the top fans thing going, the community top fans that that uh YouTube has rolled out. Um you get XP. They count XP. So, every time you talk in the chat, talk to somebody in the chat, you get XP. You get XP for donations, you get XP for super stickers, things like that. And uh me and Steve’s going to do a thing, man, to where every time whoever finishes number one at the end of each live stream, we’re going to take your name down and we’ll probably send you out send you guys out something like a poster or something. Um fun. We’ll do that. Something fun. So yeah, just uh have fun with it. Go off and uh see if you can get number one on the XP board. Uh if you have to, just keep spamming the chat. Nobody cares, I guess. Let’s go, baby. Mike, let’s talk about some fun stuff. What do you want to talk about first? You want to talk about that big fat contract or do you want to talk about what Andy had to say today? Let’s talk a little bit about what Andy said cuz I think he dropped a little bit of a bomb on people. They weren’t expecting this. He said as far as any of the injuries go, I can update you really quick. Uh Pup, the people that will start on the pup list, Christian Fulton will start on PUP, Jawan Taylor, and Trey Watson. So, those three will start there. Everybody else is good to go. Steve, a lot of people didn’t understand why Jawan Taylor was starting on the pup list. If you guys remember, like you gotta you gotta really rack your brain and get back to this one. Right around the draft, I don’t remember what day it was exactly, but Brett Vch was asked about the draft. He was asked about different things and he made a note that Jawan Taylor battled through a knee injury last year that cost him a little bit of snaps and a little bit of time. He tweaked it again, I want to say in the Texans game, cost him a little bit more time, and then he mentioned that he was recovering from offfield or offseason knee surgery. So, he actually let us know this all the way back in April. I want to say it was April 25th. Um, this kind of got swept under the rug. Not a lot of people thought anything about this. It didn’t make big news, but that was some significant news, and I think it’s surprising a lot of people now that they see that Jawan Taylor’s going to stop on the pup list. So, what do you think is going to happen at that right tackle spot? I’ll let you know what Andy said in a minute, but what do you think it’s going to be for the right tackle? Right. Well, I think it’s unfair for me to answer that because I saw what Andy had to say about it. But I do know that a lot of people didn’t account for Jawan Taylor having that offseason knee surgery. It was just a cleanup from my understanding. So really, it shouldn’t be like a lingering thing. It shouldn’t take too long. If you remember, I think it was last season when Harrison Butker had a knee clean up and he was out for about four weeks tops, something like that. It’s probably going to be something around that. They’re probably just going to start him back slow uh when he does come back. But I think by the time season gets here, he should be just fine. But what did Andy have to say about how he was handling that situation? Because I already heard it, right? He said Jawan Taylor’s out for the beginning of it. Uh referring to camp, he says, “We’ll just flip those two guys, Josh Simmons and Jaylen Moore, and they’ll work in there at right tackle. We’ll go from there. Andy Hec rotates all those guys.” Anyways, he did emphasize that out of the three heading to the pup list, Taylor is the closest to returning to the field. Uh he says, “Yeah, well, we’re hoping it’s relatively fast, just like you said, Steve.” So, he said, “I’ll tell you, Jawan is probably closer right now than the other two.” And I think the big one there might be Christian Falton. Like Christian Falton, we just paid this guy 10 million per year, 15 million guaranteed. Brett Beach actually gave him a decent contract out of all the corners in the free agency this time. He was a top 10 paid corner in free agency. I want to say he committed like number eight or nine. But Brett Beach didn’t give him just chump change. He got a decent amount of money here and he’s carrying all this Chargers baggage over with him where the Chargers could never stay on the field. And it seems that we’ve not even seen Christian Falton get out there and do anything. And he was supposed to be coming in and kind of securing that that CB2 role for us, Steve. So, do you think there’s anything to this? I think that’s more of a storyline than the Jawan Taylor thing, honestly. Yeah. Because I think that everyone was expecting Christian Fulton to be that number two. But maybe if he gets a slow start because of missing summer camp or whatever else might be going on. I think that that gives Jaylen Watson an opportunity to keep that number two position, right? If he’s healthy and he’s playing, then then maybe you see that just like we saw at the beginning of last season. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about per se because I think Jaylen Watson did a fine job last season before he got injured, right? So, it’s not like a huge deal and I do think Christian Falton will be back uh in a reasonable amount of time, but I’m not going to worry about it. But that could kind of switch things up, you know, because people really thought he was going to come in and take that. Right. Well, talking about the two, I’m with you. I think Christian Falton’s definitely the bigger story here. Um, I think he brings a lot to that CB room when it comes to size, strength, how Spags can maneuver things. Um, Spags actually with talking to Warren Sharp the other day. If you guys haven’t watched that video, please go watch that. It was so good. Got to watch it. That dude is so informative. Great information. Great. He give a lot of stuff, dude. And it was very impressive. But I’ll say this, we didn’t talk about this, but I was going to drop this nugget on him because I know he probably knows it anyway. Uh, Spags likes to disguise. He likes to disguise what his packages, his blitz packages are, his coverages. He disguises more than just about anybody in football. And did you know the number one guy he he disguises for out of every quarterback we play, Lamar Jackson? No. It was Jaylen Herz. Why though? Maybe we maybe overthought. He disguised it for Jaylen Herz and Jaylen Herz still was dropping dimes. So obviously it didn’t work. Something was weird there. something was off in that situation. I was going to bring that up to him because we talked about that a little bit and I want to see what he said. So, but that’s just a weird factor. But Spags does like to do this and I think Christian Fulton gives him a lot of flexibility because we don’t always have to put Trent McDuffy out on the boundary. He can now come in uh you know play in that slot that nickel row a little bit. He he flourishes there. But McDuffy’s going to be moved all over the field. I’m sorry people that’s like oh now he can just go to nickel and and play that. It’s like, no, he’s going to play everywhere, right? He’s going to play everywhere and there’s lots of packages. So, I think Christian Fulton is is the bigger story. And when it comes to Jawan Taylor, a lot of people’s like, oh, this may be the time that you’re going to see Jaylen Moore. He’s playing. I think that’s smoke. Anybody that’s saying that, I think is obviously just trying to get clicks or interaction from you guys because they know you don’t like Joan Daylor. That’s what pretty much, guys. Pretty much. Don’t fall for Don’t fall for it. Don’t fall for it. Shout out Kyle here. Been a member for 22 months. Says, “Let’s freaking go. Camp starting means the season is finally back.” That’s kind of when I think like the season really starts, right? Because the guys are actually doing, of course, OTAAS on team or uh uh onfield team activities and stuff like that. But camp is where it really gets going. That’s when the battles start happening. They have to make cuts soon. There’ll be cuts in the next couple of weeks, right? So, I mean, there’s like Do they still do three phases of those or they pushed them all to the end? I know. You saw it one time. Okay. Well, that’ll be coming in about a month then. And we’ll be playing preseason football before you even know it, dude. So, it’s it’s pretty crazy. Super excited that it’s back, Kyle. Um, really happy about that, actually. Been getting real bored without football. Then Kyle comes in with the five gifted memberships, baby. Let’s go. Got that train rolling in. Let’s go. Oh, and then Justin Flanders right behind him with a gifted membership. Let’s freaking go. Appreciate you, brother. If you guys get one of those, make sure to thank those two legends in the chat for doing the Lord’s work. Hey, getting the season kicked off, right? Let’s go, man. See, this is kind of like this is just like Kyle said, this is kind of the first live stream going into the first week of camp. This is the Sunday they reported. Here we go. This is the season. We’re in full go mode at this point. This is where you mother truckers are supposed to be waking up and getting on this live stream, baby. Get nasty with it. Click that like button. Get these people back at it. They’ll be back. They’ll be back. They’ve been hiding. They’ve been hiding. Dude, who’s going to be the first guy in camp tomorrow that comes out and just horns everybody up? Any guesses? Peter Ortiz with this 50 bomb, baby. Let’s go. That’s what I’m talking about. He’s going to do it. Appreciate you, Peter. You’re freaking legend, brother. 50 bomb. Legend, baby. That’s how you start the day off right there. Peter doing the Lord’s work. Mike, if I was going to answer that question for real, I I do think Peter Ortiz is the first person to horn everybody up uh for camp, but if I had to pick one person, I would say it’s got to be an offensive player, right? There’s always like a wide receiver that comes out of nowhere and makes a crazy catch. It’s either going to be like the the unknown like like a Jake Brennan stool or it’s going to be Xavier worthy like on a deep pass, right? I think or Hollywood could be Hollywood. Hollywood could get it. I mean, Rasheed Rice does his I mean, we’ve got a really good receiving core. Let’s just dude, it’s great. Talk about being horned up. We actually got a good receiving core. This is a This is a great year because for the last three to four, we’ve been screwing around out here and couldn’t get a receiver to save our lives. And this year, we finally got a nice receiving core. Now, I know the NFL is going to drop the hammer on us here with the right suspension at any point, but we still got a pretty good receiving core here. Yeah, for sure. Appreciate the 50, Peter. And then uh Rob with the five bomb says, “What’s up guys?” Simmons/mor era begins. Plus you got Ace of Pole. I ain’t losing sleep over Taylor. Uh appreciate the five Rob. So that’s the thing like there is a lot of depth there. So I’m like no one’s really going to lose sleep if Jawan Taylor miss were to even miss a couple regular season games, right? No one’s going to like lose their minds or anything. But I do think if he’s healthy at the beginning of the season, that’s his spot. Is it just is um Asa pole’s interesting though. or pool. It it’d be Is it pole? It’s pole, right? Pole. Yeah. So, um he’s interesting because that’s a that’s a big dude right there. And I feel like he he could maybe be on this squad as a as depth, right? And Dalton Cooper as well. So, I mean, there’s a lot of guys pretty far down the totem pole there. Even Joey Lombard that we had on the show at guard and center, there’s some really good guys down there that could make this squad. And we have a lot of depth at offensive line. So, like not only are we, you know, happy that our receiving core is better than it has been, but honestly, I mean, with the outlook of what Josh Simmons could be, and if Jaylen Moore pans out to be pretty decent as well, I feel like our offensive line, minus the fact that Joe Tuni left, is really good, too, with a lot of depth, right? So, I feel like it’s going to be a little more secure. Look, I I think we forgot too that I think Wany Morris is a better right tackle than he was a left tackle. W didn’t do too bad when he come in and filled in. And look, a lot of people were saying, he’s out of shape. His body’s out of shape. He doesn’t want to play football. Boy, he released a picture today shirtless and he had pecs. He was he was getting a six-pack working like he looked he looked crazy for what you think. Wor freed the nips today, dude. He come out and he’s worked he’s busted his butt in the offseason. You can tell and I’m proud of him for it, man. Because he needs to do that. Round of applause for more. If you want a long-term career, get it together. Yeah. And so he looks pretty good. We still got Ethan Driscoll back there. They love the way he was able Right. Right. I forgot team. And so there’s plenty there. And like you said, Dalton Cooper is another dude that can play all five spots. Uh Hunter Norsad done really good at right guard last year. here. I think a Trey Smith would have walked. Hunter Nor Hunter Norzac could have possibly played right guard this year. I right there. So, I’m losing everything up here. I think my internet’s going out or something. But either way, uh I I do think there’s a lot there on the offensive line. And I think our offensive line’s got pretty good depth. Like you got to feel weird that we’re still rotating left tackle and left guard a little bit because of injury and now you got the right tackle injury kind of thing. But I think this is all like very minor stuff and they’ll get it together. Yeah, I’m super excited about the whole thing. Appreciate the five, Rob. And then we got Chief Royal Hawk been a member for 11 months now. Says, “Finally made a live stream on time.” What’s up, AZU crew? Let’s freaking go. Hey, way to make it on time, baby. I’m not on time for anything ever, if you guys notic. 11 months. Appreciate that. Yeah, let’s go. Um, I’m never on time for anything. If you notice, we started the live stream few minutes late, but that was for other reasons. Uh, but yeah, man. Mike, uh, if Mike’s volume’s a little low, can y’all let us know in the chat? I actually removed that weird echo cancellation thing that they normally stick on your mic when you don’t know it. And I think that’s why you’ve been cutting out. So, uh, we’ll see. But you guys let us know how the volume goes on that. Uh, let’s see. Shout out Perry with a 14 months membership. Let’s freaking go. Perry says, “Here’s here’s some gas for the best podcast for that ass, baby. Don’t forget it. Appreciate you, brother. We can use all the gas we can get, right?” Man, it’s pretty discouraging uh doing YouTube, right? you kind of get beat down cuz you work your ass off. Like I dude, I’m I’m serious. Like uh probably a good 60 hours a week that you’re just doing on content, right? Like editing everything. A lot and then of course like I work another job and stuff like that. And then you get these people, man, that you can’t please. You you just can’t do it. And it’s like, man, what is wrong with y’all? Dude, can I tell you a fun stat I seen today? Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s So YouTube uh if you do YouTube or what like you you may have known but when you release a video like you put a lot of time effort and you throw up a video they instantly will throw it up and they’ll say how like they’ll compare it to your last 10 videos. So it’ll say congratulations one of 10. They’ll throw out this confetti just makes you feel good. Yep. But then you do you work your ass off and you go on there 10 of 10 and it actively brings up like a middle finger and it’s like Yeah. So you just you hate it. But then what else discourages you about YouTube is the first thing it shows you is comments. And you would be like, “Why is that a bad thing?” And this is the stat I seen, Steve. Out of all channels on YouTube, it says that the majority of channels will have a 90 to 10 somewhere in that range on likes to dislikes. So people will like your channel and they’ll like your video. So that’ll be high. But it says when it comes to comments, you’re 80% more likely to get a negative comment. People will be rude to you as a comment, of course. So, the first thing they do is they show you that you got an eight of 10 video and then they show you 20 negative comments about everybody telling you how you suck at life. They’re like, but you go ahead and keep it going, baby. Keep motivation going for us. They don’t know how to do the motivation. I’m going to be rude to you right now. I’m cutting you off with a tube bomb from Sammy. And I also want you to turn your volume up just a little bit. It’s like where it always is. So, I don’t Well, that that setting was screwed up, so you need to adjust. They said it’s a little low. Sammy with the two bomb says, “Should we let Rice walk in order to pay McDuffy?” So, I guess that’s probably like the next talking point, right? Or like if you can add some drama, sprinkle some drama into what’s left with the contracts, I think this is where it lies. And here’s my thing. I think a lot of things play into that. First of all, I think Caroff’s getting paid today, which we’re going to talk about here in just a little bit. Huge. I think that had to be done. I think McDuffy’s next in line here. Do I think they’ll pay Rice? Probably. As long as he can stay out of trouble, gets through all this. They might. Uh, but at the same time, it really just depends like how good is Jaylen Royals? Like h how good are some of these other guys? And what can they afford to do? Because Brett Beach can pull rabbits out of hats, but I mean eventually the money will run out, right? Like no matter which way you you you twist it. But that’s probably the next though with Trey Smith. So with Trey Smith, initially we thought it was going to go from 23.4 off the tag to his first season going 25 million, but it actually does not. He actually got it down to 14 million. So he saved $10 million this season by restructuring that contract for him. So that went a long way. The George Carlos, we’ll get to that contract in a minute. But when I break down what happened in that one, you’re going to see how that contract right there is magical. Like I do not understand why George even signed that bad boy because he loves it in KC, baby. That’s Yeah, I think so too. And I think that is the difference in finding good kids with good work ethics and want to be here and build something for for everyone rather than just take personal accolades and I think George was perfect for that. He’s the spokesman for it. Yeah, for sure. And I think that we talked about that actually like George is the type of guy that that would take a team friendly deal and I think he did do that. We’ll talk about that more. Definitely did. Uh, but should we let Rice walk in order to pay McDuffy? I think that’s kind of up for debate, right, Sammy? I don’t think that you can say yes to that. But I also if that is if that’s what Brett Beach decided to do, I don’t I don’t know that you can get mad at it either. So, it really just depends. I I don’t think they will. I don’t think the two things are mutually exclusive in any any way. Um, a lot of people, Steve, said that they don’t know if McDuffy will happen this year. They think that it’s such a weird contract and McDuffy held so many cards that they think it may get pushed back on next off season. I think that’s what Brett Vich is trying to do here, right? Because who’s going to be the more expensive one? It was obviously going to be Trent. So, I I think what they decided to do was they put the fifthear option on both the guys. So, we have him for this season and next season regardless, right? And then he went ahead and got Mc uh he went ahead and got Caroftus done after he got Trey Smith done and he kind of kicked the can of McDuffy down the road a little bit, right? But that might give him time, right? That’s that’s three guys that that got really good contracts and that’s three guys that we were worried they weren’t going to be able to retain and now you got Trent McDuffy and they can kind of kick the can down the road a little bit. Like I said, like he’s still under contract for next season, too. So, there’s time to get their finances in order and maybe move a few things here and there and get that deal done as well. And if Brett Beach can somehow come out of all this with long-term contracts for Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, Nick Bolton, George Carlos, and Trent McDuffy, I think that’s when you start having to recognize Brett Beach is probably the best GM in the league, right? He’s pulling off stuff like that. Congratulations. You just summed up right there in that little speech you just had at the very end. The exact reason that we titled the video the way we did. The Chiefs are doing things right and nobody else is doing it this way. The Chiefs have now drafted epic draft classes for two and three years in a row. They’re building these guys up with good coaching. They’re putting them in good situations and they’re finding a way to get them on team friendly deals long term. No longer are we we are not pulling the Jared Allen anymore where we didn’t want to pay him big money and let him walk and watch what he did down the road. Like they got it done with George Carlos and it’s done. And in a minute we’ll get to the contract and we’ll break it down a little bit. You’re going to see how great that contract was. It really is a good contract. Brett V deserves like he deserves his wife better be nice to him tonight and a lot goes into that. Right. You have to continue to be able to draft well and develop your players and I I thought that was a cool thing that Warren brought up in our episode. Like Mike said, if you guys did not get to watch that video, highly recommend it. That guy had some great information. It was a good outlook uh for the Chiefs, a very positive one with a lot of critiques as well. And it’s from the outside looking in. He’s not a Chiefs fan. So, it was great information. I want to say this. We heard from Warren Sharp’s agent. And believe me, when you guys commented on that video, he read those comments. Like, he seen how you all interacted and they let us know that you guys were very football knowledgeable. You guys asked good questions. You guys made good comments. They seen that and they said that they would love to come back anytime and talk more football. So, see, you guys help the community, help us grow. That’s why commenting on videos, good positive stuff like that helps the channel grow, man. It really does. And they see it, too. Absolutely. But every once in a while, you still have to complain about something. You still have to give us some negative stuff. It wouldn’t be a good day if you if everything was too good. Don’t worry about it. Right. Uh, shout out our boy K Wayne. 21 months membership says, “Daddy trucker.” Where you at Wayne? Another trucker earlier. And K Wayne got offended. He’s daddy. I see. I see. I forgot. I forgot. Uh, shout out KW. We’ll be seeing you soon hopefully. By the way, we’ll talk about that in a minute, too. Uh, Greg Goodwin with the five bomb says, “Are these big contracts going to hurt us down the road? I love these guys, but too expensive.” Uh, so, uh, I honestly I was on the fence about the Trey Smith contract. Love Trey Smith. I don’t know. I don’t necessarily like resetting the market for a guard. Uh, but I do understand why they went that route because I mean, you’re trying to protect Patrick Mahomes. Trey Smith’s really good. He’s solid. He’s been here. U, he’s just a good kid. And then on top of that, he’s a good player. Um, I think it’s just having a little bit of stability there. It’s like guys that Mahomes comfortable with. Uh, so I get it. I do get that. This car Loftess deal we’ll talk about. It’s a much better deal. It’s a much better deal. Uh, but appreciate the five Greg Smith though. The way the Trey Smith went Greg is Trey Smith after two years. Brett V kind of has a little wiggle room to either renegotiate, restructure, push something. They could even get off of Trey Smith if they wanted to in two years. Now, I’m not saying they will, right? But he set that up. This George Carlos deal is sweet once I show you a few things that was uncovered. Good to see you, Greg. Uh KT Lee been a member for 20 months says McDuffy can make so much more money elsewhere. That’s probably true. That’s a possibility. Uh I I I want to talk more about these contracts when we get to the George Car contract stuff, but you do make a good point, uh KT Lee. And then Perry with a two bomb says Vich got ahead of the defensive end market unlike McDuffy in the corner market. That’s also a point that I would like to bring up in a minute and try to discuss that out and talk about that more. Uh but appreciate the two bomb Perry. Then we got two from Rob here says, “Let’s pray Skymore doesn’t make this roster.” This man hates Skymore so much he’s praying to the Lord Jesus that he doesn’t make the NFL roster. I know. Are you you’re you’re condemning this guy to the practice squad or something? Is the practice squad like the pit? Is it the equivalent when we see the back of the pit? Well, we could pull you back out of the pit sometimes, too, and see if you can act right. Or we can put you back in the pit. It might start in the pit. The practice squad. We did that today. We uh you know like when you’re playing war zone and you and you die and but you go to the prison and then they do a jailbreak and everybody come back in. Yeah. They do a jailbreak and everybody comes back. We did a jailbreak today. If you were in the pit, you got out of the pit. I didn’t do it yet. Didn’t do it yet. But we’re going to do it soon. We think we just want to see how many slapnuts can still act like a human or continue to be a slap. Plus, we have we have a lot of moderators. We have a lot of moderators now. I’ve noticed that. And they do a good job. So, we got to give them something to do. That way, if they’re acting like Slapnuts still, they can they can put them back in the pit. You know, it’s what’s better than sending somebody to the pit once, Mike. Look, I feel like, you know, slapnut last year, I’ll give you a chance to fix yourself. Get it together. And I’m also going to make Kay Wayne and everybody work for it over there. Uh Sammy Joe with another two bomb says wide receiver six battle this year. Thornton Moore Nico Badger 100%. I think you could throw Matt Delena in there and maybe Jason Brownley. They’re both doing well too. Uh but you definitely hit like the main ones I think. I think it’s Sky Moore and uh Taekquin Thornton, maybe Nico. Nico because of kick returning. I happen to personally think that I don’t I don’t think that special teams alone is enough to get you on the roster this year. But maybe I’m wrong. Uh, but Taekwon Thornton and and Sky Moore are definitely going to be uh nipping at the the the heels of this 53man roster. It’s going to be one of those guys more than likely. Now, Badger or Delina or even Brownley could probably come out of nowhere and maybe do that. And it wouldn’t surprise me because they’re all really good players in their own right. Badger is very intriguing just because of what he was able to do at Florida. Uh, and he kind of got overlooked because of uh Chim DK, is that who it was? Yeah. Um, so I mean, yeah, I don’t know. We’ll see. It’s gonna be a fun one to watch, Sammy. Yeah, it’s gonna be awesome. I think Delina I like the way Delina plays. I think he’s got the biggest uphill battle. Obviously, Jason Brownley’s been in the league. He played with the Jets last year, right? He makes some pretty good plays, man. Jason Brownley made that team as a UDFA or he was a seventh round picker. UDFA won. He made that team. So, Brownley’s got some game. So, I I would I think Brownley might even be above Elijah Badger right now. Yeah, man. It’s going to be fun to watch play out. Uh, shout out Chief Roy Hawker here with the five bomb says, “Where in the world is K Wayne?” We might have to play that a little later if Kay Wayne sticks around for a little while. And he also says, “When is the next membersonly live stream?” Uh, so if you guys noticed, our members only live stream last month kind of got just it’s been insane. So, we kicked off this new membersonly video series. Uh, and we’re going to do the membersonly for June here soon. What we’re going to do because of May is we’re just going to incorporate it into the the June one, but we’re going to do two giveaways on that one. So, we’re going to do two giveaways and then we’ll get and then it’s going to be monthly. Of course, it was just we’re trying to kick off that new video series because we want to give the members more stuff. Uh so, I think we’re just trying to get our feet under us with that. Hope you guys are enjoying it. I know at least one person’s not, but um the rest of you guys, I think that you guys like the extra content. And uh we’re going to try to continue something weekly for you guys, members only video, at least until like uh we can’t have guests as much anymore. And then we might do like a second season of that video series. And uh we’ll be doing a members only live stream here towards it. Probably sooner than later though because we’ll be at camp at the end of July there. So uh yeah, be on the lookout for that. Chief Royal Hawk, let’s freaking go. And then uh the trains rolling back in, baby. Let’s go. Peter Ortiz with the five gifted memberships. Let’s go, Peter. Welcome to the ACU crew, whoever you are. Peter doing the Lord’s work. Appreciate it. Yeah, man. Hey, man. Um so, look, if you’re a new member now, you can go back and watch those members only. They’re kind of they’re fun, okay? They’re fun. Just a little fun extra. But yeah, we are going to do the new the new uh members. Probably going to be this week. We usually tend to do these at the end of the month. Yeah. If you guys have been with us with a long time, we usually try to do them at the end of the month. What happened last month, there was just a lot got thrown at us and it just kind of got pushed off and we were like, “Look, there’s no point.” Yeah. I just explained all this. Yeah. And we didn’t want to be like uh just coming on and like jipping people. So, we’re going to do doubles or whatever. So, it’ll be fine. Uh just hold on to your hats a little bit and you might receive a new hat or something. Appreciate you, Peter. If you guys got those memberships, uh thank him in the chat for being a legend. put some legendaries in the chat. Yeah, let’s talk a little bit about camp coming up. But first, camp coming up next, let’s see, August August 1st, August 2nd, August 3rd, we’re going to be in the beautiful city of KC. We are. And let’s Hey, let’s let’s jump into that here in just a second. I want to get these other two super chats real quick. Uh we got Reverse with the two bomb says, “Loving the vids this off seasonason. Let’s go.” Super 60. Uh we’ve been putting a lot of work into the offseason content. We got a freaking grueling schedule right now trying to get content out to you guys. It’s been hectic. It’s been crazy, but I think we’ve been putting out a really good amount of content. So, I hope you guys are enjoying it. We’re also in the works. We’re also in the works for something else that’s kind of cool. We’re trying to work we’re trying to do things with sponsors that’s maybe opening the door for more sponsorship opportunities. So, we kind of got some of that on the back burner. Nobody knows about this either, but like it’s coming fast. Yeah. Just just put it this way like uh if you guys think we’re slacking in any area, you’re wrong cuz uh we’re busting ass over here at all. It’s crazy. It’s every day. TGZ with the two bomb says, “No more greasy taco fingers can finally thumbs up the bid.” Let’s go, baby. Do you have some tacos? Sounds good, actually. It does. Appreciate the two. TGZ. And then Sammy with another two. Uh says, “Our draft picks and UFAs look great. Great class.” Honestly, I do think this has been one of the best draft classes. Like u of course it’s all um you know the prospects, right? We’re it’s speculative. We don’t know yet, but like I feel better about this draft class before the season starts than I have a lot of the other ones. I think the last time I felt this good about a draft class was Trent McDuffy and George Caroftus and all them. So, I’m pretty excited about that. And then shout out Witchie. Been a member for 10 months now. Appreciate you, Witchie. You’re freaking awesome. Let’s go. And uh yeah, man. Let’s talk about chew with the crew and then let’s get into the George Carlos contract. How about that? Yeah, for sure. So, April April August 2nd, not April. There’s two A months. Okay. And and I missed it. Yeah. August 2nd, we’re going to be at Zarda. Two of the crew. And if you notice, it looks like uh Kelsey and Mahomes and Andy may be there. It looks like they’re they’re on. Mahomes is hiding behind the car. Do not assume those three are going to be there because you will be highly disappointed. But yeah, it’s August 2nd, 7 through 9, uh 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Look, it’s always a fun time. We meet everybody. We hang out. Everybody comes. You can eat if you want. All you got to do is go to the the place, order, get your food. Like nobody’s like, you know what I mean? Like it’s not like this crazy thing. It’s very informal. Very informal. It’s just a good time. You get to meet everybody. Um I mean everybody will come out, talk to each other. It’s a cool time, man. You get to meet Some of you guys, A lot of you guys have been there. You can you can ask them in the chat, man. It’s a good time. Yeah, it’s great. It’s going to be fun. We’re going to do that this year. That’s going to be August 2nd. It’s going to be a good time. Um, so be sure clear your schedules. That’s a Saturday night. Just come on. In case you didn’t know, I this flyer is funny right here. Yeah, Steve’s making you better get your ass to the chew with the crew. Andy says, “When and where?” And Mahomes says, “Hey, this is Art of Barbecue.” I want to know why is Kelsey being so freaking aggressive over it, though? Cuz Andy wasn’t gonna go. He don’t want Andy to miss out. He’s friends with him. Chill out a little bit. He’s just looking out for his boy. He’s looking out for his boy. Okay. If you think so. It’s a little wild, dude. But okay. Yeah. So, that’s going to be something fun. But let’s jump in, man. Let’s start talking a little bit about uh some of this contract. Let’s kick it off yesterday, though. Let’s go to the Omar Norman lot contract. If you didn’t know, a lot of the second round picks are starting to sign. This is what Over the Cap is showing. And all these specifics are not completely out. So these are like estimates. They even shown this. Um he’s going to get about a 4year $7.2 million deal, about a 1.8 annual average salary, and he got about a 1.8 signing bonus. Now, if you notice over at the right side guaranteed, there is no number there. We don’t know exactly what he got guaranteed, but if you want to look at history compared to now, history says it’s between three and a half and four million. I’m under the assumption because of all this stuff they may have give him a little more there. So out of that seven he may got maybe five to five and a half. So that’s the Omar Normalite thing Steve. And are you surprised that all these second round picks waited this long or do you think they held their ground? They’ve changed the way this is or do you think they were just being influenced because their their uh agents kind of just had a lot to lose? Well, I think it was two things, right? And we brought up one of them. Brett Vch gave guaranteed money to the first pick of the third round with Ashton Gelotti. Ashton Gelotti got one and a half million dollars or 1.25 million, I can’t remember for sure. He got some guaranteed money. And then the Texans also were the first to sign their second rounder and gave them guaranteed money. So that kind of put a wedge in there, right? So you had all these guys in between and they wanted some guaranteed money and I think they all held their ground rightfully so. I I’m all for the players getting what they deserve. So, I like it. And I think once one started to sign another one, another one, the floodgates opened. If you noticed, a lot of it got done like last uh let’s be honest. I think Friday, I think the Chargers, they’re fun to hate. Their arrival. Uh they drafted Trey Harris out of Miss Trey Harris kind of did a lot for the calls. He plainly come out the day before camp and said, “I am not coming if you do not give me this contract.” Like he was going to and they had Mike Williams retire like right before that. So, I think they were just like Mike Williams kind of their cause a little bit, man. They may have given them a little kickback somewhere. But, yeah, for sure. So, I think the only the only team that’s still not signed their draft picks that they need to get done is there’s a few, but the one that’s glaring is the Bengals and Shamar Stewart. So, that whole drama thing, we’ll see how that all plays out. Leave it to the Bengals front office to be a bunch of slapnuts. But, what do you think about Omar Norman lot though coming in, man? I think he’s going to be really good. I’m very um excited to see what he’s going to bring, man, because he’s got all the intangibles. I really like it. I think he helps a lot. I think he’s going to help Chris Jones a lot and and maybe not initially his first year. It may take him a year or two to get going, but I really do think he’s got a lot of intangibles. Yeah, for sure, dude. I I really like Omar Norman Lot and I know you were a big fan of him going into the draft and uh I think that was one of the first players that you brought up to me actually was Omar Norman Lot and you’re like, “Dude, I love this kid. He’s a little undersized, but he’s explosive as hell. His first step’s crazy, and I think he could be what they’re looking for in there to replace I honestly valued him at a late first round pick. Yeah. Yeah. Which was a little higher than I even thought, but I also liked Omar Norman a lot, but Mike was a little higher at that that point. Now, the more I watch the knee injury stuff come out, you start watching the Senior Bowl and stuff like that, and this dude’s insane. Like, uh, I totally get it. And um I think it was a great pick by the Chiefs. And I I do think that there’s some question marks around him because he didn’t play that many snaps in Tennessee and they don’t know how good his run defense is and you know this and that. And I just don’t think it’s anything to worry about because I mean he’s a professional now, right? So he’s going to get a lot of snaps. Uh and granted he’s going to have to get his conditioning up and he’s going to have to be in shape. All that will come with it, right? That’s what camp’s for. That’s what all the workouts in the offseason are for. I think Omar Norman Lot’s going to be very intriguing to be in there beside Chris Jones because Omar Norman Lot gets such good pressure so fast in the middle that with Chris Jones beside him, it’s going to make defenses or I’m sorry, offensive lines like just hate life sometimes. And then you’re going to have your guys on the outside, uh, you know, like George Carlos and those guys that I think could really do some damage as well because you’re going to see a lot of penetration on the inside this year. I really do believe that. It’s gonna be fun. Yeah. Uh the Omar Norman lot thing, uh he actually addressed that. If you remember one of the first press conferences he had, they asked him about why he didn’t play so many snaps and he basically said it. He was like, “Look, dude, we played under a weird system where their defensive coach wanted to keep everybody fresh.” And he said they had six NFL starting caliber defensive tackles and so they just rotated them. That way they would all stay in Tennessee and be and be good. Because you got to remember Omar Norman Lot transferred in from Arizona State. He was really good at Arizona State and he played all four defensive uh uh line positions which means he went both sides and he went inside outside. He’s a Spags guy made over. He’s also a hustle guy on the inside. Like he is running down plays 40 and 50 yards down the field if you watch some of the Arizona State tape. Right. Well, just like Ashton Gelotti, right? The high motor and and that’s what George Caroftus is, guys. And that’s why he’s been so successful. I just think if they could get some guys with that type of motor and that kind of like work ethic, it could be a really good defensive line, man. It’s going to be exciting year on both sides of the football. Um, real quick before we keep going, Mike, uh, shout out Peter Ortiz. He’s a top fan right now, uh, by quite a huge margin. Uh, I’m not sure how they weigh these things with the XP, but Peter’s kicking ass right now. So, I just thought I just thought I’d throw that out there. Why is he number two? Oh, Kyle’s in number two and then Chief is number three. That’s where we’re at right now. For some reason, my leaderboard just goes from one to three. Doesn’t even show number two. It’s like Kyle. That’s weird. Yeah, mine says Mine’s got Kyle on there. Okay. Well, at least not Kyle. I’ll know he’s there in spirit on my end. I just thought they they kicked him out. But dude, let’s get over to the George Caroftus contract. If you guys have been living under a rock today, the biggest news, something’s going on. George Caroftus signed an extension today. So, here we go. Albert Brer says he agreed to a 4-year 88 million extension per source. The deal max has a value. So the deal has a max value of 93 and that is new money, hence new money. Okay? And we’re going to get to that in a second because a lot of people this went over their head. He’s going to get 32 million fully guaranteed at signing and then there’s a possibility to make another 30 million fully guaranteed and those are injury guarantees. So, if he stays healthy, if he plays snaps and this and that, that is going to roll over into a $62 million fully guaranteed contract. So, he goes on to say this, the totality of the deal is 105.5 over six years. The Chiefs have George Carlos’ rights. So, they have his rights through 2030. Brett V, baby, right? This is an average of 17.5 million per year, which illustrates the benefit of doing it early. He got in on the market early. McDuffy’s next. Logically, he’ll he’ll do this blah blah blah. So, here’s the thing about the Mc So, this is the George contract. What? Hey, round of applause for Brett Beach, ladies and gentlemen. Look, that’s a master class. And I’m telling you right now, the extension does not kick in until after his rookie deal is over. Insane, bro. So, he’s going to make 4 million this year. Okay. Then he’s gonna get his $15 million fifth year option and then he gets four more years. Okay. So it’s basically a six-year deal worth is going to be a chief baby. That’s all you got to know. So it’s basically about six years 112 about 18 to 19 million somewhere in that range. And dude I’m telling you right now it is such a steal. And I’ll bring this up. In the year 2026 with this contract, the first year this contract goes into effect. Basically, essentially, George Carlos is going to rank number seven in the NFL in total guaranteed money at 62 million. And that’s coming if he fully stays healthy because that was part of the the deal that we just heard explain. I I don’t know if that’s him staying healthy to get it. I think that he actually uh there’s like an injury clause there like if he gets injured or something like that, he still gets the 30 million. Yeah, exactly. But I mean, it’s going to it’ll come in on the contract. It don’t initially hit it now. So So it’ll hit it in 2026. And so at 62 million, he’s number seven. So he is already three spots away from going out of the top 10 defensive ends by the by the year of 2026. So we’re talking next year, George Carlos is only the seventh highest paid on guarantee. This is not average annual. Okay. I started to say because I I think he’s 10th on average right right now. So, I’m just trying to say guaranteed money cuz this is the only thing the Chiefs owe you is guaranteed, right? When you get to 2030, he’s at number three, right? He’s going to be at number three. But if you look, all the contracts have disappeared except for Miles Garrett, Nick Bosa. And do you want to know why? Because Brett Vch has essentially done this contract before all these next guys are going to renegotiate. He’s done the wave. So essentially by 2028 2029 George Caroff is probably will not even probably be in the top 15 guaranteed defensive ends the way the market’s going to reach that right especially with the TJ Watt thing. So this proves how good of a deal this is for George Carlos. We are getting a stud edge rusher that’s got a lot of ceiling left to get to right and he’s not even going to be a top 15 guaranteed player probably by 2027. Insane massive which means George could probably hold out. No. Insane. Insane. It’s an amazing deal. Now, the first question that comes to mind, George got an extension and the first thing everybody wants to say is, “Well, how much cap space is that leave us for this season?” To my understanding, it doesn’t affect the cap this season because it doesn’t even start until two years in until his rookie deal is over. And that includes So, we still have around $20 million in cap space at the moment, even with all these deals done. Like, Brett is killing it. He could maybe if possible. I know McDuffy’s going to be a bit of a challenge there, right? Because the corner market is hot right now. Everybody’s It’s been going crazy. JC Horn, Derek Stingley, Sauce Gardner, all these guys that just keep resetting the market, resetting the market, resetting the market. And McDuffy deserves to be paid about the same as those guys. He really does. Uh to me, he’s the second the third best corner in the league right now. Uh, we’ll say three just to not sound like a homer, but I I think that he’s up there and he deserves that kind of money. Now, can Brett Vch work some of his voodoo here and get him to do something like George did because I didn’t even see that coming. I’m just going to say like I thought first of all, shout out Pretty Ricky because he called this again right after the Trey Smith. He said they’re already working on one with George. Uh, and they were. So, the thing about it is could they possibly go ahead be in some in talks with McDuffy and have something lined out for the future that we’re not even thinking about? Because I thought I thought, you know, George the extension like like I said, pretty Ricky brought that up right after the Trey Smith thing. He was like, “Hey, it’s white boy summer. The edge rusher George Koffus is getting ready to get paid.” Right. Because a lot of people thought it was going to directly go to McDuffy next, right? So he he said that and and I was like, “Okay, they could do that. That that’s smart, right?” But I didn’t realize that Brett would be able to pull off something like this. I thought that this was going to be something different. To me, George gets paid a pretty good amount. He’s somewhere around 18 annual, like 62 million, 63 million, whatever that was. That is great money. That is generational generational wealth. I’ll tell you what blows my mind, Mike. I’ll just throw this out there. The fact that Trey Smith is going to make more money annually than George Caroftus is almost mind-blowing to me. And not because compared to an edge rush. Exactly. That’s it. You don’t even have to say their names. You can just say, you know, guard and edge rusher. And the fact that we were able to get Caroftus for that money, dude. That just that that’s like uh that goes to show you what kind of a player George Carlos is. He’s he’s going to be a loyal guy. like he he’s loyal and he’s not greedy and he he’s gonna take a team friendly deal and he did and it’s just it’s awesome. The thing about it is is George got paid. So there’s a difference there’s a difference between getting paid and just wanting to be a horse’s ass like Tyreek Hill was. He was going to get paid plenty to be here. Exactly. And instead he chose his fate and he cries about it every other week. So it’s like look take the big money because it’s still big money. You don’t have to get $3 million extra dollars, okay? like you’re going to be fine with your 62 mil guaranteed and the deal’s worth like 115 or something like that or 105.5, I don’t remember what it was, right? But still, you’re going to make a great living here. And George Carlos has a lot of upside, Steve. He comes alive during the playoffs. Uh he’s good. He’s a relentless motor. He’s young. He’s still just 24. Do you realize he is younger than 24 guys? He’s younger right now than 24 guys that was just drafted back in April. Bro, it’s insane, dude. And we got him on a second contract for this money. And people’s out here still saying this is a bad contract. We paid them too much. Dude, anyone saying that literally just should stop talking about Yeah, wake up. If anybody says it’s a bad contract, look, don’t listen to him anymore. Look, man, I haven’t looked around the Chief Space. I haven’t looked at other creators. I haven’t really looked at any of the news sites, anything like that, any of the writers. Uh, but if any of if any of them are trying to sell you that this was a bad thing, right? I don’t think anybody is going to try that. Look, look at look directly into my eyeballs. Don’t ever watch another minute of their content because they are idiots. Just do not. Yeah, because this is crazy. Nobody’s going to take that stand. Surely nobody’s going to take that standing. If they do, good go. Just don’t don’t listen to them. Uh, Mike, what else we got going on, my man? I know there’s a couple more things that Andy talked about today. Yeah, I think the other big one was just the Rashi Rice thing. People asked him about Rasheed Rice. Uh they asked him how the team was going to handle going forward and what he thought about the suspension. So Andy said this one. He said as far as Rasheed goes. Uh it’s obvious news. We’re going to progress as normal with him. So they’re just going to go as business as usual. They said he’s going to go in. He’s going to take all the reps that he would usually take and then they’re going to rotate like they always do. So he says depending on what happens here in the future whoever needs to play will be able to step in Skymore and they’ll know what they’re doing and be in good shape to do it but we’re just going to like I said progress as normal. And so then he went on to say this uh he was asked about his suspension to the NFL and he said he has not been in any communication with the league at this point and he says no I don’t have anything on the Rashid Rice suspension. Right. So they’re they know it’s coming. Uh, I want to say Matt Derek or somebody come out and said that somebody inside the team expects two to four games, but they’re going to go into camp. Rashi Rice is going to take all of his reps. They’re not going to sit him. They’re not going to do nothing weird. They’re going to let him come in, take his reps. They’re going to rotate. They’re going to find the best six, seven receivers, whatever it is. They’re going to get him prepared, and that’s that’s going to be it. It’s business as usual, right? Dude, I I’m just really excited about how everything’s playing out right now. I’m gonna be honest, like uh it sucks coming off a Super Bowl loss. That was a gut punch. Uh everybody wanted to see the three repeat happen, but like the way that that this team is still just business as usual, still looking big picture, still looking at dynasty, still looking at the entirety of Patrick Mahomes Krier and the way that Brett Beach is building this roster. Dude, I’m just excited. And I I think that like the Rashi Rice thing, even if he gets suspended, it’s just a little blip, right? It’s just like a little a little hangup, but nothing to even worry about. Like this thing’s just setting up great and I’m really excited for this team, dude. I can’t wait until camp kicks off just to to get it rolling. If the Eagles losing to the Eagles, so so if it took a blowout loss to the Eagles to put us in a bad space, right? I think that for me, the offseason could not have went any better. Like because if you think about it, we went in not knowing how these injuries were going to play out, what was going to happen with Rasheed Rice. We didn’t know what the wide receiver room was going to look like. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to sign all of these players. Think about it. We ended up getting Nick Bolton back. They tagged Trey Smith and saved some time there. They were able to sign Christian Fulton in the offseason. He got the best left tackle he could get in the offseason, then turned around and got the best left tackle in the game to fall to us, right? He wraps it up with a great draft class. He comes out of it. He gets Trey Smith resigned. He gets George Carlos extended. Like we look all of our receivers, Rasheed Rice come back healthier than we thought he was going to do. Uh Hollywood Brown got resigned back in the offseason. We got him back this year. We were able to pick up Jaylen Royals at the end of it. And and then dude had a great offse. Brett Beach getting ahead of these contracts because I mean like literally all ears to the ground. anybody that, you know, gets any kind of rumblings from the team. They’re trying to get Trip McDuffy done before the season starts, too. And if they were to be able to get all that done, it it’s just insanity. Now, like worked overtime this off season. I I I tend to think they’re going to try to kick that one down the road a little bit. And here’s why I believe that. Uh not because McDuffy don’t deserve it. Uh not because it can’t get done. I think McDuffy now obviously longer it takes though, Steve, it’s going to be a lot more money. Is it though? So that’s that’s what I’m getting to. Like I think that McDuffy’s a hotter commodity than George Carlos. I mean overall you’re talking about the top a top three corner in football and corners are going for a premium right now. But like I said earlier, dude, they’ve been on a tear just resetting the market, resetting the market, resetting the market, resetting the market. Maybe if you give that time to cool down, just simmer a little bit. Maybe a you don’t have to reset the market, right? Maybe you just get a fair deal done somehow if you just let all that cool down because if you’re going back to back to back to back like Sauce Gardener just got paid, right? So, so maybe we don’t do that contract right this minute that way we don’t have to compare it to that one. Do you know what I’m saying? Like maybe maybe I don’t I don’t know how that works. I don’t know how much that plays into it. But uh if they don’t get McDuffy done before the season starts, it’s not going to surprise me. But it’d be really cool to see him do that to get all this done. Yeah. I well I think to your point I think a lot the numbers are always going to be there. If you negotiate next year and not a single corner signs it S Gardner did they’re still going to look for that contract of course but it’s not as fresh and it’s not as like uh I I don’t think McDuffy’s this type of guy but a lot of guys in the NFL are like oneuppers right they they have to like TJ Watt had to get1 million more dollars than Miles Garrett and did he deserve it? Absolutely. Now should they have paid him that much? I don’t know. He’s kind of old. I don’t know. Not at that age. No. Right. But I think he did earn it. Um, but I don’t think McDuffy falls into that category, guys. I don’t I don’t think McDuffy feels like he has to make more money than Saul Gardner. I don’t think it’s a pissing contest with Trent McDuffy. He seems like a kid with a good head on his shoulders like Car Loftess who just wants to be in a good situation and I can see him being a loyal player that would do a team friendly contract. If you can do it, man, if if he does something like that, that’s that’s going to go a long way. It’s going to go a long way. Could you imagine being in Kansas City, eating the finest cuisine of barbecue, playing with Patrick Mahomes, playing with Steve Spagnolo, playing with George Carlos and Nick Bolton and and Chris Jones? I mean, come on. You can’t even forget him. Did you even say Travis Kelce? Listen. Well, not yet. I was getting to it. You got T you got you got Andy Reed, the best coach. You got Travis Kelce. You’ve got all these guys, okay? just this dynasty that you’re a part of and that you’re helping build, but for a few extra dollars on the back end, you’re going to take yourself to some [ย __ย ] hole like Detroit. Like, come on. There’s no way. I am not I do not in any way think Trent McDuffy’s that guy. I think Trent McDuffy will sign for what Trent McDuffy thinks is fair. And I don’t think he’ll try to reset the market. Now, look, the the Chiefs could do it just to be nice to him, but I don’t see them doing that with a corner. I honestly don’t. They want to give a fair contract, right? And he’s earned every penny that he gets. Nikki with a two bomb thinks that he’s going to reset the market no matter what. Um, so we’ll see. It’s a possibility. Well, he’s got several ways he can reset the market, right? Like you could do high average annual, you could do guaranteed. I think they want the guaranteed is what it is. That’s what that’s the big the big thing right now with players. And it makes sense. I get why they want that guaranteed. So look, George made about 60ome million guaranteed, right? What was it? 62 63. Yeah, 63 total. So, look, McDuffy was drafted probably what 10 12 spots higher. Mhm. I mean, I would I could see McDuffy getting about 73 75 78 million somewhere in that range. Guaranteed. Yeah. Uh, sorry, I missed this one somehow, but she had the two bomb. It says, “Team friendly. We should let George retire here.” 110%. I think I think George is going to be a lifer. I do. like he just seems like a very loyal dude and I I think that there’s a lot of things that kind of played in our favor with the George contract, right? because not only is he something about him and his uh attitude uh just him as a person like if you ever watch any interviews you see any behind the scenes stuff uh on top of like the work ethic and just the way he plays the game just 100% passion always 110% balls to the wall high motor it’s just he’s also like really good friends with Chris Jones and Chris Jones ended up like this u I mean there’s a lot that plays into that. And I think that that’s the kind of thing that this team, that’s a culture they have to have to continue to do what they’re doing at this level because even the New England Patriots didn’t have it like that. They just didn’t like they did a lot of stuff with a lot of lower level players. Uh they didn’t have like huge names other than like the Randy Moss year and stuff like that. But I I think there was even that 10-year gap with the the Patriots where it was tough for them to achieve what Brett V is doing right now. And uh I just think it’s great. U Sammy, appreciate the two. And to your point with Trent McDuffy, I I just think that um I I’m with you. I I don’t think he’s going to be a guy that’s out there trying to get the highest paid contract. I think he wants what’s good to be good for him and the team. And I I think that it could it could be a good thing. Hopefully they can get it done soon, though. That’d be great. That’d be awesome. Yeah. I I don’t really know how when they’re doing it or I just you you gotta just trust Brett Ree at this point because honestly I didn’t think the Carlos thing would have been this quick and that leads you to believe that they could have been working on this all summer long, right? Like there was probably talks all summer. I don’t think it was something coming together in a day or two. And just before we migrate off to Trent McDuffy talk, uh I saw where uh Lone Wolf in the chat said that you saw what they did to Legarious Sneeed and Tarvarious Ward when they wanted to be paid big. So hopefully they will want to pay McDuffy. And and I’ve said this a lot if you’ve watched any of our videos or anything, but I’m still going to bring up the same point that I’ve brought up a thousand times. Trent McDuffy by by all means is a higher tier of a player than those two. Uh I think they both had some really good years, but just from the get-go, Trent McDuffy’s a a different tier uh of player. I think they invested more in him. They they got him in the first round. They traded up in the first round to get him. So they already invested more. Legerious Sneeed was a fourth round pick safety that they converted to a corner. So they got their money’s worth out of him easily. They got way more than what they could have ever dreamed to get out of Trent or Legarerious Snee. And then Chararius Ward was a UDFA, right? So it’s like I don’t think that they cared. They didn’t have to pay those guys, right? Like they invested nothing in them. If a fourth round pick is the most you invested between the two of those, then you can let that walk, right? And sometimes when you look at a player like Legarius, Mike, I think it was pretty obvious to me and you even like he’s not going to play at this level in a different system. He’s not going to do it. He’s also an injury-prone guy. He could have problems. And what happened? He went to Tennessee. The system’s a little different. He didn’t play at that high of a level. And then he’s been injured a lot, right? So, I don’t see that with Trent McDuffy. You see a guy that, you know, knock on wood, you know, was pretty durable kid. I like Legerious Sneeed, but you kind of hit the nail on the head there. There’s a Legius Sneeed view from a fan perspective of almost like this guy was like, prototypical corner, can’t do any wrong. And then if you look at it from a purely football perspective, a front office perspective, and look at it from a backed away, take the fan out of it, take away that leg was a cool guy, like him. But all those things you said, he was a converted safety to a corner. He he led the league in uh penalties, holding penalties. He he led the the team in missed tackles every single season. Yeah, he allowed more catches than any other corner his first three years in the league, right? He allowed the most catches when you threw his way. So later, Kyle, he he had this he had this beautiful like season that came together on a contract year where he just this was like the epic thing that happened and he was playing through an injury that whole season too. So that made it even more special. But look, he culminated into that fourth or fifth year of just greatness. And Brett V and everybody from an outside perspective when you take your fan hat off, you could almost see that like I don’t know if this guy can play any better than this. He’s going to get all this money. He’s got a knee injury that could be lingering and there’s just no point to do this. And I think if but the fans really were just And they were able to get a third round draft pick out of him. Yeah. And you got a third look, fans even thought that was too low. And it’s like come on you for that. That was the fan in people, right? And we tried to That’s what I’m saying. The fan in people tends to to just value Legius way more than he probably first of all to and I I agree with everything that you said, but I’d like to point out that I we’re not trying to take anything away from what Legarius Sneeed did last like the season before. Not at all. It was a great season. Epic season from Sneeed. I mean, if you think about the things that Sneeed was able to accomplish then that season and then like some little points in the season like the I mean, he saved the AFC Championship game, right? With that punching that ball out with with uh Trey, what’s his name? Z. Like, yeah, dude. Like, just an epic season by him. And I mean, LJ’s always going to have a spot right here for Chiefs fans 100%. I mean, epic season, but when you look at it big picture, you got to take all that out, right? And I I think that’s what happened there. And I do think it was the right decision by Bert Beach. Yeah. And I mean, if you look at it, even even like you said, the kid that ended up going to San Francisco, that was the UD. Travarious Ward, right? Travarious Ward. I feel like he probably played his best ball here. And I think they knew that. He played he played pretty good in his second contract, but not like Right. I don’t think it was worth what they paid him. Right. Exactly. I don’t I think that you get to a a point where you get and they’re like, “Look, it can’t get much better than this, so we cannot pay more. We can’t do it.” You seen it with Brandon Carr. He ended up going to Dallas and sucked, right? Yeah, for sure. I mean I mean it’s just it is what it is. But I think Trent McDuffy’s a little different. Yeah, I think so. He’s also been super reliable, too. That’s what I was saying. Curse him or anything, but he’s been very reliable games. Knock on wood, Steve. Hit hit your head. I got it. The woodiest thing I know, probably. Hey, I don’t know, baby. Somebody might have gotten to the blue shoes. It’s about time in here. Let’s go. Got the Terry with a gifted membership. Let’s freaking go, Terry. How about it? Appreciate you. You got that membership. Make sure to thank Terry in the chat. Uh, thanks for the support. And then we got Rob with another five bomb here. Says Bash Brothers, George and Ashton. That’s another thing, too. Like Marcus Dash, we had him on a episode recently and he kind of thought maybe they wouldn’t pay George if Gelotti panned out. Well, now you can kind of see they never were in that headsp space whatsoever. They want both of those high motors, right? And like if Ashton were to pan out as good or better than George because here’s the thing, George I think was more pro ready than Ashton, right? 100%. I think was more pro ready than Ashton is. Uh they both have the same kind of motor. But I will say that Ashton is more athletic. Like he’s faster. He’s got a little bit quicker uh quicker than George. He’s got kind of the same bull rush moves and stuff. So, I mean, there’s a there’s a chance that he could turn out just as good as George. And if that were the case, bro, this defensive line is gonna be nasty for a few years, right? Ashton was not the backup plan for George. Ashton was essentially the backup plan for Charles Minhughue. So, if he don’t get it together this year, he ain’t getting a big contract. Right. Well, I mean, that’s that’s a whole another conversation for another day, brother. And then on top of that, Mike Dana, which he got paid a decent amount, right? Yeah. But I mean, come on. And and it looks like Felix is never gonna pan out, right? Sammy with the two. I would love to see Felix, that’s another conversation for another day as well. I would love to see it, dude. He has all the tools. He had all the tools, man. Uh Sammy with the two bombs as top three quarterback and a number one slot. Pay him. I totally agree. And if you go back, the Chiefs gave a pretty fat contract to Kendall Fuller just to be a slot corner. Do you remember that? Wasn’t that long ago? How much they paid him, but it was it’s a pretty good contract. And he turned around got another good contract with I think the Commanders. Uh so I mean there’s value just in that alone, right? But not only is he the top slot corner in football, but he also is just damn good even on the outside. And that’s something that Kendall Fuller didn’t even do. So I think McDuffy McDuffy deserves what he gets. It’s going to hopefully it’s going to be here in Kansas City for sure, but people are going to want to pay him 100%. Yeah, he signed he was part of the Alex Smith trade when we pulled him off. Um, and we ended up signing him for four years, 40 million. Yep. So, they paid him a pretty good chunk. He only played here for two years, though. Yeah. Yeah. It was only a couple years. But, man, super excited about camp getting started. They kick it off this week. So, uh, that’s going to be freaking awesome. Uh, I know everybody’s excited. I know we’re excited, Mike. Uh, be on the lookout for all kinds of content this week. We’ll be doing the same schedule as usual. Uh, but hopefully we’ll have a lot of fun stuff to talk about, man. It’s like it’s a little bit different. We’re not looking for stories. It’s not speculative speculative. It’s not um a look at it. I mean, maybe it could be some contracts if we get McDuffy going, but it’s gonna be about football is what I’m trying to say here. Like things that happen on the field, we’re going to be able to talk about. It’s going to be fun. Before you know it, you you have uh preseason starting and everything like that. Uh but before we jump out of here today, I just want to say I appreciate you guys. You guys are freaking awesome. Thanks everybody that’s donated, gifted memberships, and all that fun stuff. It looks like Peter Ortiz is going to be the top fan of the day. Uh it’s going to be very tough for someone to take that from him in the last few minutes this live stream. Uh he absolutely slaughtered it. Uh so shout out Peter Ortiz. I think we have your shipping information, but go ahead and email it to us anyway. Uh just to make sure that way you don’t get lost in the sauce. Um but yeah, real quick, we will be in Kansas City uh August 2nd uh for two with the crew at Zarda and Blues 7 to 900 p p.m. Central time. Uh, so make some plans, jot it down in your calendar, get your pencils out, pencil us in, come hang out with everybody, and have a good time. Very informal. You don’t need to bring anything with you. You can order food when you get there if you want to. You don’t have to. U, but yeah, it’s going to be a good time. Everybody be hanging out, having fun. So, hope we can have a good turnout this year. Uh, I’d like to see it be the biggest one yet. So, if you guys can make it, would love to meet everybody and just have a good time. Right. I also think uh Lance and his brother Trevor from the Spoken are supposed to come so you guys can meet them too. And I think Buck and Bob are going to try to get out there. Yeah. I mean, I’m sure you guys have watched some of their stuff. So, yeah, there’s going to be some people. Last year, Cole swung by for a little bit. No guarantees on that one. That was wild that we got Cole to come out. Like, yeah, I was like, there’s no way Cole’s gonna not work for a little bit and come out, but he did. We We suckered him in. So, uh it is what it is. But it was fun. It’ll be a good time. So come out. Melissa, is that you or is that Bucky? You uh But we also when you come there, we usually try to give away posters and different things. So we’ll have even like some door stuff, some prize, not prizes, but like just giveaways that we’re just going to give people. So yeah. Yeah, we’ll have all that good stuff. It’ll be fun. It’ll be a little bit of uh community building. I like it. Yeah, for sure. I appreciate you guys. Do us a favor. Hit that like button on the way out if you haven’t already. and all that fun stuff. Also, if you didn’t catch that video that we had with Warren Sharp, I I highly suggest that one. I keep bringing that up because uh you guys should go check it out if you didn’t. There’s some really good stuff in there. A lot of nuggets from Warren, man. He’s a very analytical guy and I thought there was some really valuable information in that episode uh that that no one in the Chief Space has been talking about and I think that you guys would get some value out of that. So, so go watch that video and uh we’ll be back with some more content coming up this week. So, be on the lookout. We’ll see you then. Go Chiefs. Go Chiefs.
Brett Veach & the Kansas City Chiefs are not only drafting excellent year in & year out, but they have now figured out a way to not only develop their talent, but lock them up long term with the Chiefs! With Mahomes’ amazing contract & the willingness of their biggest stars buying in to TEAM FIRST contracts, the Chiefs are building a runaway train that the NFL is going to have a hard time stopping for YEARS!
