Devin Booker Re-Signs With The Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker signs a contract extension with the Phoenix Suns. The Guard signed a 2year $145 million extension and Phoenix will have Devin Booker under contract until the 2029 2030 NBA season. During his prime, Booker has been more like a top 25 NBA player than a top 10 one. And while he should still be an allstar contender, by the time this extension kicks in shortly before his 32nd birthday, it’s more likely that Booker will be a comp complimentary piece than the centerpiece. the Suns have made him. Burger’s loyalty didn’t translate into any kind of discount and the Suns are taking a considerable risk by agreeing to this extension with so much time remaining on Devon Booker’s current contract. The Suns have been holding on the straws to keep Booker in the fold and he would have been silly to decline an extension like this. Booger gets the financial security for two more seasons, getting paid more than 70 million per year after he turns 30 years old. The Suns get their best player on the team under contract for longer, but if a trade comes about, Booker’s price just went skyrocketing up. So even though Devin Booker is on the decline, he will get still get paid like a top superstar. So congrats to the Phoenix Suns and Deon Booker.

“I want you to think about what Devin Booker got here. He essentially agreed to a one-year extension. He agreed to giving the Suns one more year because he got a player option in the deal, which I would not have thought was a guarantee, and he promised the Suns one additional season and guaranteed himself $140-something million
