Royals vs. Marlins Game Highlights (7/20/25) | MLB Highlights
And on the mound for the Marlins is Jansen Junk, who jumpst started this winning streak for the Marlins by tossing seven scoreless sittings in a six nothing win over the Orioles last Saturday. You know, appearing in his 26th Major League game, his 13th Major League start. He has been so consistent with his entire repertoire off the mount. 11th appearance of the season, sixth start for the Marlins. Jonathan India. Is that Nick? It sounded like there was a clicking sound before it popped and it looks like it hit him. That ball took off at four seamer after having a hitter down 0 and two. Jansen Junk allows a base runner and now Bobby Wit Jr. Bobby Wit hits one high in the air out to straightaway center. Meyers is trotting over to right center about 10 ft to his left and he makes the catch route number one that keeps India at first base. Now Junk seeing Vinnie Pascino with a runner at first. Ground ball right back to Junk. Fires it down to second. They get one turn to first. A little low. Dug out over there by Eric Wagman. Two in a double play. That’ll go 163 to retire this side. They were the first. Chris Bubich makes his first start since appearing in the All-Star game. Good for him. It’s been really fun listening to him in his interviews the past couple of weeks and he’s really sharp obviously, but his pitching can be sharp as well. And that’s what they’re hoping for today. All right. One pitch, one out. That’s exactly what you want to do. See if you can do that every time up. Here’s Augustine Ramirez. 3-2 is up the middle and a base hit rolling into center field for Augustine Ramirez. A one out hit. Stands at first base and now it’s Otto Lopez. There’s ball four and the Marlins have two men on base and here’s the cleanup hitter Eric Wagaman this afternoon. Not hit very hard and the play is to first. So two down and the Marlins get two in scoring position. Second and third with two away for Kyle Sters who will indeed face his old teammate and Chris Bubich. Both were all star this year. And round one between the buddies goes to Bubich and the Marlin strand two in scoring position. Adam Frasier. He leads off and he rips this on a line to right field. Sanchez coming on. He dives and he makes the catch. Boy, this is a tough play because it’s a hardline drive, but it has top spin and it’s sinking. Sanche went back about a step and then had to regroup. Stayed with it and was able to hang on. Here is Fairmine the catcher. One- one is popped up right side. That is staying on the infield dirt. No. Drifting just onto the outfield turf. Xavier Edwards at second underneath and he makes the catch for out number two. Isbel making him work. 3-2 is popped up. Should get him out of the inning. Shallow right. Wagamman is there. He’s got it. And the inning is over. Slider Jansen Junk faces the minimum through three. Scoreless. First start in eight days for Javier Senoha. And he grounds it softly up the middle. India’s got it on the backhand. Throws it to first. Not in time. Not going to get him with the speed of Senoha. Second hit of the ball game for the Marlins who have the leadoff man on base here in the third. Edwards now three out of eight in this series. On the ground to Garcia and the Royals get the out at second base, but that’s it. Great recovery though. Now roll up a pair. Now Augustine Ramirez and Bubich strikes him out. Two down and that’s Bubich’s first. Here’s Otto Lopez. He walked in the first inning and he grounds it out to Garcia. He’ll go down to second base and that’s the inning. And at the end of three in Miami, no score. Bobby Jr. fly to center field in his first at bat. Liner the other way to right center over the leaping second baseman Edwards cutting it off in the alley is Meyers and Bobby will slide feet first into second with his 33rd double of the year. Oo have their first hit of the day. Now Vinnie, he grounded into an inning ending double play in the first. And now a line drive into right center field and that’s down. And Junior is going to be held. He was not sure if that ball was going to drop or not. And so he wasn’t full speed as soon as Vinnie got a base hit. And so it’s first and third with one out. Garcia hits it into center field. That’s plenty deep enough. And Junior comes down the line and the Royals lead one- nothing in the fourth. That’s how you get it done. Okay. The top of the order. Guys getting them on. Get him over. Get him in. Now runner at first, two down and the batter is Salvador Perez. And Salvi lines it into deep left center field and over Sters and it sticks in the wall and Sters was ready to grab it and then decided to put his hands in the air. Now the Royals want to see if he attempted to reach for it before he put his hands in the air. If it is deemed to be wedged in the wall, that’s going to cost the Royals a run. Oh, bummer. In any case, second and third, two outs. Kaggs grounded a second. His first time. He’ll swing and line it toward the alley in left center field. That’s down for. It’s going to go all the way to the fence. Vinnie scores. Salvi scores. Kaggs drives in a pair and the Royals lead it three to nothing. So, the fourth hit of the inning in the third double of the inning and the Royals lead this game three zip. So, Kaggle Leone at second as Adam Frasier is do and that is lined softly into center field. Myers is there. He’s got it and the inning is over, but the Royals get three. Freddy Fine junk delivers and Fine strokes it towards short sharply to Lopez. He scoops it up, shuffles and throws to first way high. It sails into the camera. Well, that’s out of play and Fine’s awarded second base. So, an error on the shortstop. Otto Lopez immediately puts a runner in scoring position for Kyle Isbel. There’s a nice punt by Isbel and the throw from third will not occur at all. There was no play. Runners on the corners, nobody out for Jonathan India. And that’s ripped to the gap in right center field and is going to go all the way to the wall. And Jonathan India will drive in two. And the Royals have a 5 nothing lead in the fifth inning. 106 exit vloget gets away from Ramirez and India goes to third. Don’t stop. Pile on. And he’ll take a walk. And for the second time in the inning, the Royals have first and third. And nobody out. Nobody out for Vinnie Pasquantino. Now Vinnie is going to drive in a run. India back to third base to tag. And Ster’s throw is offline. And now Junior is going to move up to second base. This looks familiar, doesn’t it? Playing Royals baseball. That’s what we’re talking about. Get hot before they head into the Windy City. Salvador Perez leads off the top of the eighth inning. Salvi hooks it into the left field corner and off the top of the wall and gone. And for Salvador Perez, that is six home runs over his last 10 games. We opened our show looking for a bus driver and Salvi was in one of the top candidates. And he continues to really attack that baseball with his barrel that’s elevated up around the belt. He knows how to turn on it. You can hear the crowd roar for Sally. How about this young man right here, Andrew Hoffman getting a chance to shut her down. Fast ball lofted softly on the infield. Two hops to India. He gloves, throws to first in time for the out. One away. One up, one down for Hoffman. That brings up Arberto Hernandez. 32. Misses low and away. That’s a walk issued by Hoffman. With Hernandez aboard, that’ll bring up Dave Meers. Rolled back to the mound. Hoffman off the bump, grabs it, lobs it over to first, and that’s the only out he gets. That was the only out he could get. So Myers is out. That brings up Jesus Sanchez. Runner on second with two down. 3-1 misses inside. Ball four. Second walk of the inning. The seven run advantage issued by Andrew Hoffman. And now Shenoa. Ground ball right side. And that’s bobbled. Everybody is safe. E4. And the bases are loaded for Xavier Edwards. Shallow center. Tough play. And it’s going to fall. Marlins get a pair and it’s seven to2 now. They always say walks will come back to bite you. Both walks they they seem to do that. So should Ramirez reach a potential tying run would be on deck and that is a safe situation. And that is blistered out towards the gap in left center field and this will roll all the way to the wall. Ramirez will play two more. All of the sudden there is a save in it this afternoon. And here comes Matt Quataro. He’s got to bring his closer into a game that was 7 nothing with two outs in the ninth. Estz is seeing Otto Lopez. There are two men gone in the bottom of the ninth inning. Ground ball left side in the hole. Tough play. Whit bobbles it. Here we go. The tying run is coming to the plate. Boy, that’s all you want to do in a situation like that. Get that tying run to the plate. Pinch hitter Wagman out. Liam hits into the ball game off the left field line and Rave is there in foul territory. Kami Hammy Ha. And I don’t know what you were so worried about. We had him all the way. Yeah. Woo. I can breathe now and soak the can
