And it’s going to start here with this match up between the Miami Marlins and the San Diego Padres’s. The Miami Marlins sending out Yuri Perez for the start in this one. No starter confirmed for the San Diego Padres’s at the time this video is being recorded. Hopefully be able to update that for you on Monday’s morning show. But like I said, we do know here is that Yuri Perez is getting the nod for the uh for the Marlins. And Perez was fantastic in his last start before the All-Star break. Seven innings of three hit shut out baseball, no walks for the second consecutive outing. And you know, the thing with Yuri Perez is that he had a bit of a rough start to his tenure this season where he gave up the four runs on four hits against the Pirates on the road. But, you know, he started to really increase his workload and now it’s like I said, he’s back to being sharp. 21 strikeouts in his last three starts only to the one walk and the one home run that he’s given up as well. And now you take on a San Diego offense that has not been overly consistent offensively. You look at their numbers in the last 10 games against right-handed pitching. They’re hitting just 214. The last five, the numbers have kind of shaped up to 247. And the Padres’s did do a good job of taking two or three from the Nationals on the road to start the second half of the season, but I’m still not 100% sold on this Padres’s lineup. Now, again, obviously, it’s going to be interesting to see who they throw out here. And if it is a lefty that the Padres’s throw out here, I don’t love the Marlins as much. But just on the surface, just given what we know here, I do like what I’ve seen from Yuri Perez. And I do like this Miami lineup and what they’ve been able to accomplish. I mean, they took two or three from the Royals before falling short in Sunday’s series finale. This is a team that is still battling to get back to 500 and they’re only, you know, six games off the pace as we enter, you know, the final what, 60 games of the season. So, this is a Marlin team that I don’t think is going to make the playoffs necessarily, but they could still make a respectable run and still, you know, be able to provide some value. Now, it’s crazy to me to say that they provide value laying 126, but you know, there I think they’re favored in this matchup for a reason. I think the Marlins, you know, have the better, you know, will likely have the better starting pitcher here. And I’m pretty sure they’ll have the better bullpen as well. I mean, you look at the month of July so far, the Marlins have the best bullpen erra. And they had the best bullpen RA in baseball, I should say, entering the All-Star break. And if you look at their numbers in the month of July out of the pen, you know, they have the league best RA of 1.75 in relief. The Padres’s bullpen RA still top five at 2.65. But I said, I’m impressed with what Miami’s been able to put together. I think they can get the job done in this one.
