  1. If the Angels are “serious about winning” and decide to be “buyers” at the deadline with this dumbass as manager I will cry. Why is TA going back out in the 7th with 80 pitches for the 4th time through the order? By the way Dietmers was fresh and waiting. This loss is 100% on Ray Montgomery and his horrendous BP management.

  2. I’ve said multiple times this year: never let Anderson pitch in the 7th.

  3. Being within a game of .500 is a guaranteed loss at this point and it’s frustrating to watch

  4. I’ve seen this game play out like 10 times this year. I’m sick of watching this shit happen all the time. The team isn’t ready and needs to sell but likely wont at the deadline. whatever

  5. The entire game comes down to Ray Montgomery putting TA out in the 7th to “save the bullpen”. Ray has no feel for the game. TA had already walked 4 batters and given up a ton of hard contact. Hes just not a guy that can go deep into games. Then he gets left in to put on yet another batter. You can’t consistently give relievers unclean inning… let alone runners on first and third with no outs.

  6. That sucks. They get 5 over last 2 innings on 3 hits. Mismanagement by moron Monty and bonehead defense. Need to get one of the next 2 and get the fuck out of NY.

  7. Ward peaking right at the deadline. Great opportunity. Don’t blow it.

  8. This game seemed so simple. And 3 run lead late and you have Reid and Jansen fresh and ready. Why get cute with it? So frustrating

  9. Tired of the announcers mentioning that Ray is doing a good job keeping the team together and managing it. It’s quite the opposite. Pitching decisions taking the team out of the game again tonight

  10. Anderson went too long. I don’t care his pitch count. He should never have come out of the dugout in the 7th. And even if he did he should have been pulled after the first batter got on. This loss is on game management.

  11. I think TA deserved to go back out there, but he should’ve been taken out after he walked Alvarez after getting ahead 0-2. Then again, I didn’t expect him to give up a hit to their 9 hitter with a .581 OPS either. There’s equal blame to go around on TA, Monty, the bullpen, and Moncada’s defense.

It’s a win we turned into a loss, but it’s still one loss at the end of the day. The same comments I’m seeing today were being said after that loss to the Phillies on Saturday. Only reason to panic a bit is if we get swept since that’d make it a losing road trip. There’s still a chance we win this series and forget all about this game. Besides, the upcoming homestand vs our division will show us more about where we’ll be going into the deadline.
