PGT: A team taking on water like the Titanic – and the dreadful ghost of .500 beckons ever closer… [F: 3-8]

  1. Not much good to say about this one. Probably the worst Rays game I ever attended.

Need to turn it around quick because if we play like this for the next 10 days, it’s a pretty easy decision to be made about what we’re going to do at the deadline (even though we probably aren’t making any moves anyway).

  2. Rays starting pitching continues to collapse, with more meatballs served up fresh every night. And the Rays offense is back to their 2024 ways of never hitting with RISP.

The one hit by Walls is nothing when you consider how many runners were left on base both before and after that. Good on him for getting that hit though.

The Rays literally cannot help but be the worst team in baseball every July.

It’s the goddamned White Sox. Losing 5 of 6 against them last year was supposed to be a fluke. Fucking show up and beat the literal dumpster team of the AL for once, fucks sake.

Morel continues to prove why the Paredes trade might be the worst in recent Rays history.

  3. Rasmussen, Junior and Aranda are the only non-expendable players to me at this point

  4. I accepted the rays weren’t going to be good this year. Then June happened. These motherfuckers had to get my hopes up

  5. Obviously the whole team is mostly terrible atm but Josh has been very disappointing this season. Another year where he’s gonna wRC+ in the 90s. Not entirely his fault, but a letdown after how hot he was in 2023

  6. When rich hollenberg spent the whole pregame show saying the white Sox are the worst team in the al and their offense is awful terrible abysmal I knew we would lose lol like stfu dude

  7. Disheartening to say the least. I hope I’m wrong but this feels like an inflection point of the season. I’ve been a proponent of not getting too emotional for a single loss, but this one feels different. No bad luck or flukey bullpen loss, just a straight up thumping from one of the worst teams in baseball.

We can’t use the “oh they just need to get to the all star break and rest up” excuse anymore. Starting 2B and SS both can’t stay in the lineup. And we continue to struggle to beat last place teams. The next two games become must wins IMO if they want to show the FO that this team is worth investing in at the deadline. 3-3 or worse against BAL and CWS is not good enough after the poor showing coming into the break.

It’s such a shame because this team had everything in front of them for the taking going into that series in Baltimore at the end of June. Just go .500 for the next couple of weeks against a piss poor schedule and we’re buyers at the deadline for sure. Now selling seems more likely than not 🙁

  8. This team is just a joke, half the team is made of glass, the other half has their heads up their asses!

  9. cant win without Brandon Lowe apparently

White Sox were gifting us bases with walks and errors almost every inning and bats couldn’t get it done. Bullpen looked solid though if you’re looking for a positive from tonight.
