First, the Superbowl this year is being hosted in San Fran (Goffs hometown) and by NBC which Mike is host of.

There is something that just resonates with his voice and Lions football over the past couple years, primarily his call in our first playoff win vs the rams.

As well as all the games he hosted for us over the years like at Houston last year, opening night vs KC, vs GB in 2023 to knock them out of the playoffs.

And this year he's hosting our games against the two past Superbowl champs vs the eagles and chiefs.

Maybe it's just me, but this year, feels right.

  1. I thought for sure you’d mention the fact that he and his family have lived in Michigan for like 25 years but alright

  2. Last I checked, Tirico has lived in Ann Arbor for years. This was brought up when he was on the call for Detroit’s first playoff win since the 90s a couple years ago. It would be fitting.

If it’s not Tirico, my dream would be Kevin Harlan on a Super Bowl. Guy was electric for the games I heard him on last year and his work in NBA is stellar too.

  3. I am not a Tirico fan, his Mahomes glazing is tiring, remember when he called our win over the SB champ Chiefs a win with an asterisk?

  4. You mean the asterisk he insisted we place on our win over KC on TNF because Jones and Kelce didn’t play that game?

  5. Nah id rather not have someone tell me out win needs an asterisk because *insert player name here* is hurt. I actually liked tom brady and he seemed to really like the Lions, every game he did with the lions he was nothing but compliments the whole game and telling us fans how pretty we are lol i love mike terico too but that comment really rubbed me the wrong way.

  6. I’d imagine us winning the Superbowl and saying and Detroit for the 1st time ever your lions have done the impossible the Detroit lions are Superbowl champions

  7. He could even say that the Lions Super Bowl win should have an asterisk and I wouldn’t be mad.

  8. Now Collinsworth may be a buffoon, but allowing Tirico to call the end of the Lions’ first playoff win in 30 years was a class act.

I still want him to shut up 95% of the time tho.

  9. Huge Lions fan and Michigan native living in the Bay Area. Don’t call it San Fran

  10. I always pictured Joe Buck with the game winning call. His call of the Cubs ending their curse was legendary. It’s only fitting that Joe calls the Lions as well.
