Michael Jordan expressed a desire to bring Chicago multiple titles during the 1996 Championship parade – “I want us to be remembered as champions, not once, not twice, not three times, not even four times”.

  1. Wait. Was LeBron quoting this at his Miami debut? I might look at that in a whole new light

  2. Well I don’t think we would have remembered him as a three time champion considering this was his fourth

  3. I just learned yesterday that LeBron’s ‘taking his talents’ quote was actually referencing Kobe’s, and now this lol

  4. I guess the difference is that MJ already won some titles when he said this. LeBron didn’t win any yet at the time.

  5. In the 58 year franchise history of the Bulls…they have 6 titles. All with MJ.

    That’s pretty amazing.

  6. mike “all these guys behind me who have never won a championship before”

lebron “get me some guys who have won before”

  7. This is not comparable to LeBron’s infamous “not one, not two” speech at all. Context matters.

This was after the 1st three-peat by any team since the merger, after the 72 win season, during the championship parade.

Jordan was seen by many as the greatest athlete ever at this point. He could say whatever he wanted.

  8. He has won his 4th for the city so he’s saying they will win at least one more…he won 2 more

  9. “Winning a championship is what Chicago is all about”

We used to be… But now we got fans who just want to be entertained, make the play in root for try hards rather than talent…..

The state of the Fandom needs to be revived. We need to go back to being all about being championships… Because the NBA world has almost already forgotten.

  10. I mean its not the same as the other guy “not 1 not 2” because Jordan already won 4 at that point , he is just saying he wants to win more than what he already won. One thing to say it and another thing to actually do it

  11. This was after winning 4 championships. With the team he started with, and he also delivered on going beyond that. That’s why he’s the GOAT.

  12. You have the GOAT and he makes the bulls a world wide phenomenon, then Jerry brought it back down to a poverty to mid at best team. Cause he cares more about Baseball which he can’t even do that right. Chicago sports are literally dynasties followed by the nastiest drop-offs.

  13. MJ spoke in a more humble manner saying he hopes. LeBron said it like he was guaranteeing it. And in the end MJ delivered 6 to Chicago. LeBron only brought 2 to Miami.
