The Houston Astros won game one in Arizona and they’ll be just a slight favorite here in game two. Houston is minus 112. The total sits at 8 and a half and I think the bookmakers have this one very wrong. We’re going to talk about it. We got Framber Valdez going for the Astros and Eduardo Rodriguez going for Arizona. Uh, Valdez 10 and four on the season with a 2.75 ERA and Rodriguez has struggled three and six with a 5.94 ERA. And if you look at the batter versus pitcher matchups, the same story unfolds. Arizona is batting just 143 over 56 at bats against Valdez. And Houston’s batting 302 over 53 at bats versus Rodriguez. That is a small sample size, but Rodriguez has bad numbers in his last five starts. Bad numbers at home. He’s just been consistently bad all season long. And uh it’s a matter of Houston’s ace versus a back of the rotation guy for Arizona. Uh if you look at the uh if you look at the weather, that’s not applicable because it’s an indoor stadium. Look at the bullpens. Houston ranks third in erra by reliever, 3.28. Arizona, one of the worst bullpens in the majors. They rank 26th with an team erra of 4.89 among their relievers. So another huge advantage for the Houston Astros. Uh you you look at home away splits uh 25 and 23 on the road for Houston, 26 and 26 at home for Arizona. No real advantage there. Obviously just a oneame difference. Uh so we’re not going to give any any advantage there. Injuries, some big injuries in the lineup for Houston. Uh Pñena and Alvarez out. That said, the pitching staff has been very thinned out for Arizona. a lot of their relief pitchers as well as their closer. So, I’m gonna say that that is almost a wash. Uh, you look at the recent form, Houston’s two and two since the All-Star break. Arizona’s 3- one. Small sample size. We’re not assigning an advantage based on that. Uh, situational, it’s game two. They played game one last night. Neither teams traveled. No advantage. And the, uh, park factor, it’s in a dome. No, no real advantage there. Uh, you look at the history though, Houston is seven and three in the last 10 meetings, six- one in the last seven meetings. They’ve won four straight at Arizona. I see a ton of advantages for Houston here. They’re priced at almost a pick price. This is a big playon situation for the Houston Astros.
