  16. Obviously a terrible take in hindsight and was almost certainly just said for views even back then, but it is wild to think how highly thought of Simmons was at the time. A lot of people thought he would be a superstar.

    I think after that no shot moment followed by the presser dude just mentally checked out of the NBA, and I don’t think he truly ever checked back in fully. If he did, it was past the point where he was physically special in the way he was showing during his rookie contract

An absolute must-listen for sports fans who like hearing someone talk but aren’t actually paying attention to the words. He is the Sean Hannity of the sports world, and he would probably take that as a complement.

  27. I mean this was doing too much, even back then. But the Ben Simmons hype was real and not entirely unwarranted. What’s weird to me is that sure he never developed a jump shot, but it’s like he lost everything else that made him great too. Never seen someone be an All-Star, even All-NBA level player his first couple of seasons, and then fail to reach those heights all of a sudden
