Did Buffalo Bills END punter competition right before training camp? | Thoughts on surprise cuts
What is up everybody? Welcome in to the last pre-training camp edition of Shout a Buffalo Football Podcast. Ryan Talbin in the house. I am Matt Parino and we have uh a fun little final episode if you will. There was some Bills news today. Couple items of Bills news that we’ll get into over the course of the show. We’ll give our final thoughts on the Bills heading into this very exciting training camp. Hard Knocks going to be on the ground there in uh Pittsver at St. John Fischer University. Ryan Talbet, how are you, my friend? I am doing great. I’m excited for camp to begin tomorrow. Uh you know, the first few days aren’t in pads, but close to real football is coming back and a lot to report about. So, that that little, you know, I don’t want to call this like a dead period, but it is it’s a little bit of a period here where things drag. I’m excited for some real football talk starting tomorrow. Yeah. And it’s going to be exciting to really dive into some of these position battles, some of the, you know, some of the fringe roster guys that I think could make a little bit of a push to make the roster. Don’t forget about the daily updates from Bill’s training camp. You can’t be there, don’t worry, we’ll be there and we got you covered. Text 716-528-6727 or go to joinsubtex.com right now uh bbuffalo bills. Uh put in your phone number, you get a twoe free trial. By the end of training camp, you’re gonna be like, “Well, maybe I’m out of here because these guys text me too much.” Uh, we’re going to get after it over the next couple of uh weeks on the insider text line. And we’re starting it off tonight with an insider exclusive Q&A Q&A happy hour over Zoom with all of our insiders. We’re really excited about it. Yeah, pumped up for that. Always great when we can uh hang out with the insiders, have a Zoom, answer their questions. I see uh Pete here saying he’s hoping to pop in tonight to the Zoom. So, looking forward to seeing you there, Pete. It’s always a great time. And we have plenty to talk about on the eve of training camp. And like you said, the updates are going to be firing off. We’ll be sending videos to the insiders, sharing our thoughts as practice is going live and then a ton after practice as well. Shout is brought to you by Amtrak. Uh comfort, no middle seats, plenty of leg room, easy ease of travel, free Wi-Fi, no baggage fees, lots of discount offers, too. Ride Amtrak for an experience uh a fun and relaxing way to get to your destination. All right, Jake Kamarta is not going to get to his destination of training camp, Ryan, because the Bills released the punter. They signed him to a futures deal uh a couple of months ago after last season ended. And the thought was going to be he would be very much in the mix for the punter competition once we got to training camp. The Bills later added Brad Robbins, a veteran, played in 2023 for the Cincinnati Bengals, only going into his third season. missed all of last year with a oblique injury. He now remains as the only punter left on the roster and what we think is his job to lose. Now, I will say before I get your thoughts on this, just because we sit here today with one punter on the roster doesn’t mean that I expect it to just be Robin’s job and there’s no competition. The Bills could add a punter at any point over the next couple of weeks as they move through training camp and the preseason. They signed Sam Martin in 2022, obviously extenduating cir circumstances around the matter arises situation, but they signed him on August 31st after the uh Denver Broncos made final cut. So, this isn’t over. Like uh Brad Robbins is the punter as of now, but I still think even without somebody on the on the roster, there will be a competition and he’s going to have to earn it. Yeah, you’re echoing my thoughts. This is not just going to be handed to Robbins. uh despite him being the only punter on the roster as we enter training camp, someone’s going to come in at some point. There’s going to be cuts at the end of training camp and preeason where the Bills might say, “Hey, this, you know, we think this person really fits what we’re looking for. Uh could have a tie to to Buffalo’s new special teams coordinator, whoever it may be.” Uh you obviously worry a little bit about the holding when it comes to Tyler Bass, but it’s not like Robbins has a ton of experience doing that. So, I think between now and week one, there’s still a lot of room for maneuverability for the Bills when it comes to this punter position. And that’s not saying Robbins can’t win this job. He was better in the spring according to a lot of the people that were in the building watching the few kicks that we saw, but he’s going to have to earn it. As you mentioned, this is not just a closed, you know, they’re not closing the book on the puncher job right now. Ryan, uh, we’re going to get into the rest of the Bills roster moves today, but we can’t go any further. Uh, I’m catching some serious flak for the fact that we have not mentioned the Bills are going to have a different helmet in week 18 this season. I mean, this has been like years in the making. I remember Sal Kapacio talking to uh, former executive for the Bills, Ron Rakuya, back in 2022 about why the Bills weren’t bringing back the red helmet at any point. I mean, Josh Allen uh kind of teased it right back at the red and blue scrimmage a couple years ago. Then he did blue, then he did black, and now that they’re going to be in the red, people are wondering like what’s he going to tease this year? But the Bills will be in the red helmet. Peak Welli, uh COO of the Bills uh announced it kind of with a teaser this morning. What are your initial thoughts on this? It felt it’s this has felt like years in the making, a home run. I mean, Bills fans from that generation that watched the ‘9s team, you know, that there it elicits so many memories from those days. To just run it back and see Josh Allen in that and some of these other modern Bills, I think is a a no-brainer. Yeah, it was a slam dunk. It was an easy choice for the Bills to make in their final season at High Mark Stadium. Uh, obviously, there were a lot there was a lot of reporting about an unveiling of a new helmet this on this day and then some back and forth. No, it’s not going to be read. Yes, it is. And sure enough, the Bills teased it uh with with Pete and in terms of his uh his bedroom there at training camp and you saw the helmet in his duffel bag. So, you had a good idea that it was most likely going to be announced today. And sure enough, it was. So, I’m excited about it. As you mentioned, I mean, those were the helmets that the Bills wore when I was growing up watching this team. They they started wearing them in 87. Uh, I was obvious I came along in the mid 80s, so that’s all I could remember up until 2011 when they made the change. So, yeah, I’m excited about it. I know there’s a lot of fans saying, “Well, I wish it was for more than one game.” I get that, but at least they’re coming back for one game. That’s better than none. And I think that there’s some there’s buildup to it that it’s in week 18. It’s the final regular season game. Uh, I believe is that is week 18 a home game? Yes. Actually, so obviously makes a lot of sense, right? like have the final game, send it off in true uh 90s, the the golden era of the Bills. Send it out in style. I’m sure all the 90s Bills will be in attendance. They’ll probably do something super cool with that uh before kickoff. Um a lot of emotions. I mean, that’s one thing like uh Matt Bove, our good buddy over at Channel uh 7, he’s done a series of shows on the new uh stadium, kind of saying goodbye to the old stadium. And I don’t think I even, you know, there it’s so long been in the making for this new stadium and the excitement is built that it’s almost like I’ve I haven’t really thought about how much emotions there will be this year as we go through this like goodbye tour in uh what I still like to think of as Rich Stadium. Yeah, it’s going to be very emotional. And again, that’s the final regular season game based on the way the Bills have played the last uh however many years. that you would like to think that there’s going to be a home playoff game after that. Maybe two or uh maybe two if they get the buy and maybe three if they they have to play all the way through. But um that’s still going to mean a lot in that final regular season game just like the the only preseason game this year at Highark. I know preseason doesn’t mean much to to many, but this whole final year, the the farewell to Highark, to Rich Stadium, to the Ralph, whatever you want to call it, uh it means a lot to a lot of fans. There’s a lot of sentimental uh fans in this fan base. There are a lot that are talking about how can they get their seat or seat from the stadium when it is done and over with this season. So, it, you know, even the red helmets mean a lot to this fan base. Uh the Bills made a couple of other moves. We mentioned that they released Jake Kamarda. They did so uh while also releasing wide receiver Kelly Akiari uh which was the UDFA out of Mississippi State who Ryan, we talked about it in during this the spring. Every practice that I went out to, I think I kind of mentioned to you either on the podcast and the insider chat line. It just it looked like he was struggling like he wasn’t ready for the moment, right? It’s like some drops, some um just you wanted more during the individual periods uh when he competed in the uh the team drills, wasn’t able to really stand out. And listen, they’re going to funnel this is a winning organization. This is a Super Bowl contending organization. They’re going to funnel in players to push those fringe roster spots because that’s what good teams do. And I felt like this was always going to be the ultimate outcome. They go out and they bring in uh David White Jr. He’s a wide receiver UDFA that signed with Jacksonville last year. Um he went to Western Carolina. He was injured all last season. So he’s he’s getting back into the NFL. And then they go out and they bring in a tight end in Matt Soal. Uh this is his ninth NFL spot. Most recently with the uh Pittsburgh Steelers in camp. He played a game for the New England Patriots in recent years. He was a UDFA uh I believe in 2019. So, for the most part, camp bodies, but you know, they will funnel guys out and they’ll work guys out and they’ll take a look at it and they’ll see uh how it goes. Yeah. And you know, there were two other players I believe the Bills worked out or gave a try out to yesterday. Part of this too is just evaluating in case an injury pops up at camp, they can go back and and then maybe sign one of those players. And I know it was three tight ends, one wide receiver. They signed another tight end here, but there’ll be workouts throughout camp where the Bills are evaluating players for in season, for training camp the preseason. It never ends. And when it came uh when it comes to David White Jr., the Bills did do some homework on him last year when he was in the draft. Uh they talked to him, met with him a few times, showed some interest. He went undrafted though, went to Jacksonville, and then he tore his ACL in June. So, uh, he’s a little over a year removed from that, but there is some intrigue in terms of his size, speed combination, the route running, and what he can do, but he’s still a very raw prospect. But it doesn’t hurt to kick the tires on a player like that at this point. Uh, knowing full well they’re buried on this depth chart, but it’s an evaluation technique, and uh, they’ll get their reps, they’ll get their opportunities just like a lot of other young players do at training camp. And when it comes to the tight end, I I felt like the Bills had a pretty solid or full tight end room, but they wanted to add another one into the mix for uh reps, maybe keeping, you know, Dawson Knox fresh, not having to overwork him. Uh or Concaid, who knows how they’re they’re going to maneuver this, but they wanted a tight end for some reason, and they added one to this roster. Um David Trillesio uh over there always calling me on my BS. Um, I titled the episode Bill’s End Punter Competition and I said, “Oh, don’t worry. It’s not over yet.” Uh, in the first few minutes, it’s it’s I should have rewarded it. It’s over for now, right? Like Brad Robbins is the only quarterback or uh punter on the roster. So, right now, it’s his job to lose, but I I just know how the Bills operate. like if if we get two weeks into training camp, right, and they don’t like what they’ve seen from Brad Robbins now that they’ve kind of handed him the job before camp, and this is a guy that was a sixth round draft pick. I know that a lot was made about um Kamarda being a fourth round pick for the Buccaneers. He w he didn’t play well last year. No. So, if you go back to Robin’s rookie rookie season, oh my god, the Cats, dude. You’re killing me with the Cats out there. just absolutely brutal. Like, you know, every episode is it Shadow? I can’t remember the name. No, Midnight. Midnight Shadow. Whenever I’m doing a podcast lately, he’s up here. Drives me. He’s always crawling around you and crawling all over you. Brutal, dude. I know. I know. Maybe you need a cat next. David also calling you out on that. Beth says cats are fun. So, I mean, I guess that’s part of the the charm of the the something, but you know, I think Robins, the other piece of this, too, is like they signed Kamarta before they hired Chris Taber to be the new special teams coordinator. And if you you have these two guys on the roster, you get an entire spring with both of them. Taber is able to kind of take a look at both of them. They both kicked in the NFL. None of them are coming into the league uh without doing it before. And I think it’s just one of those situations where maybe Taber is comfortable with Robins. He’s liked what he’s seen and he wants to maybe build that rapport between Tyler Bass and and and Robbins and he’s comfortable from a punting perspective with what uh Brad Robbins brings. Yeah. And that’s just it right now. This was somewhat of a competition in the spring. They saw enough out of Robins to say we’re going to start camp with him. Uh but they’re always going to be looking. Like I just mentioned earlier, every position there’ll be some tryyouts or most positions there’ll be tryyouts throughout the summer. And it would not surprise me at all if on the transaction wire during that first week or two of training camp that we see some punters were brought in for a try out or a workout uh on an off day. It’s what the Bills do. It’s what every team does. I mean, you went through that transaction list yesterday. There were teams trying out five receivers and different, you know, defensive ends for other teams in Dallas, for instance. So, it’s just what good teams do. You’re evaluating. You’re looking to upgrade your roster. You’re looking to uh see what’s potentially out there if something were to pop up during the summer. What does the uh what’s the title say now, Dave? H Dave, you there? What’s the title say now, buddy? Yeah, I changed it. Pulled a fast one on you. How do you like those apples? Huh? Now it all fits together. the magic of technology. Boom. No, we’re just getting into we’re ramping up, Ryan. We’re ready to go right now. Training camp tomorrow. I’m so jazzed up to get out to the dorms. I would say two weeks ago, I was like, “Ah, man.” Like the dorms. I I remember like the my back sleeping on those cotss in the room and us jamming into those that that little little shot in the dorm room. But the closer we get, man, starting to feel like taste that uh um black raspberry shake at the Pittsburgh Dairy Farm. I mean, it’s going to be good stuff, man. I can’t wait. I’m excited to get there. I’ll I’ll be coming in Thursday night. Uh I’ll be there for Friday and Sunday’s practice. I’m hoping Fridays is okay. I see a lot of thunderstorms in the forecast, so hoping the weather holds out that day. But I’m excited to be there this weekend, and I’ll be there again uh next. And then the final day too where we have a little shindig going on. I love it. Uh more talbit is what I always like to say during training camp. Let’s get him up there. All right. So next up here, let’s go to Landon Jackson. I know everybody was a bit worried about the development last week when he went on the active pup list. I reported that the expectation by the team was that he’d be ready to go by then. The Bills activated him today, so he will be ready to start practice tomorrow. How important do you think that is for him? He obviously spoke over the weekend and kind of quelled any concerns. I think it was Train Wreck Sports that caught up to caught up with him at Mafia Con, which we were so bummed to miss this year, but it looked like they had a great event. Um, what do you make of this development and how how much are you looking at Landon Jackson? Like where do you kind of stack him up on the depth chart? Like if you go over to uh rlads.com right now and you take a look at the depth chart, right now Landon Jackson ranks behind Greg Russo and Michael Hoy um at left defensive end. We don’t know how that’s all going to shake out now, but that basically makes him a third stringer right now. Is that where you have him? And what does he have to do over the next couple of weeks to maybe move up that depth chart outside of the fact that we know Michael Floyd is not going to be there? Like take that out. I I mean like to really truly earn some type of role to start the season. Yeah. I I mean, first of all, him coming off of this active pup list is big for him because the more reps you can get as a young player, the better. Uh we know that this is a great opportunity for rookies to showcase themselves. And it’s going to be a big summer for Max Harrison. It’s going to be a big summer for TJ Sanders. It’s going to be a huge summer for Landon Jackson because, as you mentioned, you look at the the pecking order on this team. They already have their starters in mind between Russo and Bosa, but after that I I really do feel like it’s a crapshoot and partially because Hoit’s not going to be suspended at the start of the year. But if Jackson can come in and get off to a good start, show a little bit of uh pass rush juice and be good against the run knowing his responsibilities. There’s no reason for him that he couldn’t by the end of the summer leapfrog Hoy with the Bills knowing full well that Hoit’s going to miss those first six weeks of the season. That could play into the the depth chart as well. Uh when all is said and done, I mean, the opportunity is there. There’s AJ Epanessa that you already know uh that the Bills like well enough. His spot on this roster is pretty well set in terms of the depth. There’s the Javon Solomon. He’s a little bit of an X factor in terms of this competition, too. So, when you look at this room though, there’s there’s a great opportunity for him to to work his way all the way up to second team this summer. Definitely. And I think that the preeason is so such an interesting time for Jackson specifically because I think there’s going to be games if not the third, maybe a couple like Greg Rouso and and um Joey Bosa probably not playing a ton in the preseason. Epanessa, you can play him. But if he’s going to be that depth, that depth like with um Michael Hoy out for a bit, maybe you want to kind of hold him back in these preseason game, which now gives you the opportunity to truly evaluate all of these guys. I mean, we’re going to take a look at a Javon Solomon, Landon Jackson, um rushing duo in a lot of these games, and it’s going to be really important reps, but it’s also going to tell you how ready these guys I I don’t know. I can’t remember. Can you remember an example of any camp where a young player, first or second year player, had a kind of unexpected run of production during the preeason that ended up vaultting them into a bigger role to start the season on the defensive line? I’m trying to think of one and and I can’t really think of one. This might be a very unique opportunity for Jackson, specifically because of the Hoy thing. Yeah, I I’m just trying to think of someone off the top of my head. I mean, you you had your feel-good stories of guys that made the roster and earned a depth roll, like a Justin Zimmer kind of comes to mind. He But but no one in terms of huge starter snaps or even uh anything close to that. So, no, I mean, and I’m maybe I’m missing someone. I shouldn’t sit here and say that so matterofactly, but off the top of my head, I cannot think of anyone necessarily in that spot. But yeah, it’s a you go ahead. One guy I’d probably throw into the mix, but again didn’t didn’t check every box because he didn’t have a major role, but it was probably Kingsley Jonathan, right? Like somebody that like had himself a really good summer, earned a roster spot when nobody thought that he would, had a couple of games here and there, but I mean for Jackson, this is a draft pick that and I don’t even remember like how much did AJ Epanessa play as a rookie? I feel like it wasn’t a ton. That was when they had they had the monster numbers back then. That was like the Mario Addison year. Let me see this percentage of snaps here. All right, guess percentage of snaps played for AJ Appanessa in 2020. Let’s play a little trivia game. Um, let’s go 23%. Wow. 31% for AJ Appanessa. So, he played a little bit more than than maybe you would have thought. Um, some people commenting on on our Funko game here. Um, this is uh this was a gift from Ryan. Um, look at that guy. Let me see if I can get him in there. There we go. Look at he’s got the uh he’s got the uh coffee, the Starbucks, and he’s got his little notebook. Look at this guy. There’s mine. My wife got one. What do you got in your other hand there? Got a phone. It’s just empty. Just empty. Just the phone. It’s disappointing. I would have like had the coffee in there, too. Yeah, that’s I do love a good coffee cuz I always Dude, I always pick let’s let’s go into a little bro mode here. Do I ever leave you hanging? You always hold brewed up when I make a run to Starbucks. You always text me like, “You want anything from Starbucks?” Absolutely. And then you know you know the order. No, no, no. That was years ago, Ryan. Now I just show up with your order. Okay. I don’t need to text you anymore. I know. Uh venty cold brew, splash of cream, coconut milk. Oh, I thought you do the coconut milk. I either just a little splash. You’re getting new coconut milk every time. Is that not the order? I like it. It’s good. All right. Anyway, couple things. Uh, real quick shout out and then we’ll give our final thoughts before the start of camp. Um, Mark says, uh, Matt, they’re in Pittsver, but, uh, give Rochester it’s its props. We’re going to be in downtown Rochester on August 7th, so we’re giving them all the props. Park Avenue, um, is that considered downtown Rochester? It’s in Rochester. It’s in the city of Rochester, I believe. Uh, Park A. So, come on out. Uh, we’ll be at Dorado. Uh, we’ll do the live show there. Uh, Wing Nuts is coming up. It’s going to be anything or everything that you would come to expect of our live shows, we’re going to do it up in a big way. Do you love Shout at Buffalo Football Podcast? Want to buy some swag to support the show and get decked out in our official gear? Check out the brand new Shout store for apparel, headwear, and much more. The link is in the description right now. It’s been running on the the ticker here all day. Ryan, did you order anything yet? Did you get yourself a new shout shirt, the new logo and all? I have it in the cart. I have the polo and I have the t-shirt. So, those are two things I’m getting. And uh I know the family’s looking at those clear bags because when you go into the stadium or any stadiums now, those help. So, there’s a clear bag option. Uh I feel like I have way too many coffee mugs or else I would consider that as well. So, yeah, there’s a little bit of everything there. So, go check it out. Um, yeah, we’re really excited about that. We’re also really excited about uh the National Comedy Center. We were out there a couple weeks ago and we just had a blast. Jamestown, New York. The National Comedy Center is the perfect day trip or weekend trip for the entire family. One of the most interactive museums in the country. Uh, it’s a museum experience like no other. Ryan and I experienced it firsthand. Featuring comedy’s biggest hits and greatest legends. It’s a day filled with laughter. So, make sure you make the trip. Uh, we still got plenty of time. It’s open year round. They have acts that come in all the time. Ryan, we love the comedy center. We absolutely love it. I’m hoping to get back there again in late August, uh, right after, you know, training camp before the regular season begins. One more stop. I heard the office stuff is now there. I’m big fan of the office. So, they have suits of Jim and and Dwight and, um, a few other things there I’ve heard. So, I got to go check it out. I gotta tell you, uh, I have a new training camp, um, idea for how I’m going to do my note, my notebook. Like, usually I write it in a notebook, physical notebook, and then I transfer that into the the the text line digitally. I’m actually going to write out of the interface on my phone. So, you are literally going to get if you become an insider today, the actual notebook of notes on the insider text line all training camp long. You are not going to want to miss this one. It’s going to be awesome. All right, let’s get into final thoughts here. We got about four minutes left. Uh we’ll go we’ll go quickfire. What are your big If we were going through our All right, top storylines of camp, what do you got for me? Can Max Haristston lock up a starting job opposite Christian Benford early in training camp? That’s my top storyline. Uh Shawn McDermott, he’s gone on record saying, you know, no, I don’t just hand jobs to rookies. They have to earn it. But he’s also not against the idea. The Bills drafted Haristston in the first round of this year’s draft. They only brought in familiar faces that know this defense and Trey White and Dne Jackson. I think the opportunity for Haristston is huge here early in camp to maybe lock up that starting job. I think one of the top storylines is obviously James Cook, but I’m going to take a different spin on it. I I don’t necessarily think it’s going to be about does he show up? I the reportedly he is and like how much will he hold in. I don’t really think that’s going to occur. I’m more interested in the daily vibes around James Cook. Like is is he going through the motions? I I was on a radio hit today in Albany. Uh, I do the their show out there every once in a while. And apparently Cook was in town. I think he did a tour of um camps and he might have done one in Albany and and had done some media. And the host of the radio show there basically said like, you know, he was just he looked he sounded miserable. He was very short. I’m like, well, you got to give him a little bit of grace. He’s not super talkative to begin with. Um, but I I’m very interested to see like does does James Cook show up? Does he show up ready to compete for a Super Bowl and and whether it’s the good bride tour or not, can he put aside the desire for a new contract and show up uh for and play football? I think that’s something that’s going to be worth monitoring over the course of the summer and into the season. And to me, that’s the big James Cook piece of this and I love that. And you know what, maybe if there is a silver lining of Hard Knocks being in Buffalo or well, St. John Fish University to cover the Buffalo. Um, it might be James Cook, you know, hey, I’m going to put my best foot forward and I’m going to I’m going to look good on this show because we’re in this contract talk. I’m going to look like I’m going to go out there and be a leader. Not look like a leader. He’s going to not just act out the part, be a leader. I’m going to put my best foot forward and in case something doesn’t happen with Buffalo, uh there’s there’s going to be all this footage of of me just kind of pushing through and not going the route of other players. and and you know, we’ve talked about this before. He’s not a player that can necessarily hold out because of being on a rookie contract and needing to get that acred season, but we’ve seen how sometimes there’s holdins where players come, they don’t do much or anything at all. Or you have the Trey Hendrickson case where I I think I’m definitely on Hendricks’s side in this in terms of the whole long negotiation. He just said, “I’m not going. I’m on my way to Florida.” He posted that today on social media until this gets figured out. Cook can come put his best foot forward. uh be a leader and then if it doesn’t work out in Buffalo, there’s gonna be a lot of teams that watch this program because I don’t care what anyone says, every team is going to watch this uh for evaluation purposes for a lot of different reasons. And that can help him get a payday elsewhere if not Buffalo going forward. The other the other it’s not so much a training camp storyline, but it is a summer before the season starts storyline, and that is do the Bills pull the trigger on a big trade? Like we’ve talked about Trey Hendrickson a lot and you know over the course of the off seasonason you bring him up there they’re they’re not any closer to a deal. They’re really stuck on some of this stuff. There there’s a path to it. I I saw Greg Thompson from cover one. Shout out to those guys. Him and Aaron Quinn do a great job over there. Uh put out a a little bit of a a scenario of what the Bills would have to do moneywise to fit the contract. And you can always figure it out, right? like you’d always figure out a way to get something done to maybe go allin and I think the Bills have a really good roster. Jeremy Fowler uh put out a series of stories and one of them was how executives around the league ranked rosters around the NFL and the Bills I think came in fourth uh behind the Ravens and the Lions and the Eagles and I think that’s about where they’d they’d fall in. I think a move for a Hendrickson potentially vaults them up a spot or two, maybe all the way to the top depending on how much you think a difference maker he can be. And to me, that’s one other storyline. Like I agree with Brandon Bean’s premise that you’re never one player away. But when you have this top tier, top five quality roster to add a potential allpro difference maker where you’ve fallen short every single year rushing the the quarterback. I think you have to consider that and let the chips fall where they may if you can make the deal happen. Yeah. Listen, the Bills, there’s maneuvers that they can make. Um, one of my favorite shows is called Arrested Development, and there was a saying, there’s always money in the banana stand there. You can always find money. You There’s always a way to do so. And when it comes to the Bills, I agree. They’re they’re not just one player away, but in the back of their mind, they watched that Super Bowl and they saw the way that the Eagles Dline wre havoc all day long. And I I think in their mind, Bosa, if healthy, can help provide something in that area. And a lot of these young players that they drafted, uh TJ Sanders coming in and providing depth on that defensive tackle position, Ed Oliver maybe having more help in the middle on the outside can kind of unlock him again. uh some young players, but if you want to go over the top, if you really want to create as much talent as possible off the edge, uh a Hendrickson would be a home run. Do I think it’s going to happen? No. But Brandon Bean will always call. I’m sure he called a few months ago when all this started with Hendrickson, uh just as most teams did at that point. And that doesn’t mean he’s not going to revisit it again. Not anticipating it, but you never know. He’s always out there looking to swing the bat. All right, those are our final thoughts. That’ll do it for this episode of Shout. I’m telling you right now, don’t waste any more time. RIP Puntapalooza. Sorry Joe B.
🦬🏈❤️
Punter has me a little worried going into this season. Special teams matter.
Teryl Bernard
I’d like to see them sign destroying
The red helmet was never good. They were not always good with them and the one version with the blue face mask was hideous.
I disagree, the red helmets are 🔥🔥
It’s Rich stadium
Haha the Cat
Has Tops hit bottom?
I don't get the love for the red helmet. It's boring, and ugly. It doesn't stand out in any way. Bills are smart. One and done, and back in the mothballs for 10 more years. Still love the classic grazing red buffalo, with white background. Josh has commented positively about that helmet several times. Would instantly become one of the leagues best helmets if they brought it back full time.
Should wear red helmets for season
Love that we get the Red Standing Buffalo twice this year. Was hoping Chase Claypool would get a look see at WR. He apparently is healthy again. The Cat was offsides!
Bass needs to go imo
Bad idea for the last game because Josh will probably sit as we have everything wrapped up for home field..
