Twins vs. Dodgers Game Highlights (7/22/25) | MLB Highlights

Tasker Hernandez bobblehead giveaway tonight. All the folks coming away with Teao bobbleheads as the Dodgers and Twins play the middle game in this three-game series. Yamamoto, it’s been the most consistent starter we’ve had. Yes, he had the shortest outing of his career against Milwaukee, but he responded against the Giants and that splitter was deadly against the Giants. One for 13 they were against it. He’s fifth in erra’s third and average against what a season he had. Here’s Buckton. You buckle up right away with this superstar leading off for the Twins. Another 3-2 swing and a miss. Strike three. Just ate him up and in with a fast ball at 96 for a game opening punch out. It’s 3-2 to Willie Castro. Fast ball rings him off and he puts KS on a one, two, three first. Where would this team be if it weren’t for Simeon Woods Richardson stepping up in a huge way here over the last few weeks? In those six starts, Simeon is 3-1 with a 1.47 RA. Truly one of his best stretches of his major league career. Now, Shi Otani’s first at bat. Otani has gone deep in three straight games. He struck him out 96. Boy, Sim fired up ahead. O2 goes up and inside. Otani is out number two. Will had two home runs last night. Two of the four the Dodgers hit this one. Slicing foul. Walner over and Walner measuring and makes the play. Boy, the moose. He’s an agile moose. And the inning is over. A one, two, three. Bottom of the first turned in by Simeon Woods Richardson. Was 0 for five last night, but man came so close to silencing this crowd. The two is the bouncing ball up the third base line. A chance for Rojos. Grabs it with a bare hand and eats it. And Carlos Koreah will be safe at first base with an infield hit. Runner stays and that’s ball four. So France a nine pitch plate appearance. So the Twins have two on. Absolutely imperative to seize the opportunities early against a club as talented as the Dodgers. And Walner highf fly to right and playable for Pah. Here’s the catch. Kareah will tag and the throw is caught off by Betts. So Walner with a lengthy at bat advances Koreah to third. France they put it first. That’ll bring out Royce Lewis. How good did Royce look last night? Three hits, a double, stole a base, and now an RBI chance right away tonight. Dodgers back for a ground ball double play. Chopped in the hole and that’s off the glove of Rohouse. It goes to base. Safe at second. Lewis is safe at first. Kareah scores and it’s one- nothing Twins. And a great job by Royce just putting the ball in play, getting the RBI, hustling out of the box. Son came off the base there. What a wild play that was. Now Harrison Bader since June 25th. He’s 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position. Six strikeouts in that run. Swings and misses. Strike three. Yamamoto blew it by him. A high fast ball. That’s out number two. Small sample. Vasquez. Good numbers here at Dodger Stadium. Only two games in his career. Four for nine. Yamamoto about to throw his 50th pitch of the game. Vasquez bangs one left center field. On the run goes. Alman won’t get it. That’s going to find the wall. France will score. Here comes Royce heading home and he will score sliding. Christian Vasquez delivers a two out, two-run double and it’s three nothing. Gets that splitter from Yamamoto. This one elevated. You mentioned the 50th pitch of the game. Leaves it hanging and Vasy gets the barrel right to it. Splits the gap past outman. Royce on his horse. Both runners score. Vasy on second base. And that is a beautiful thing. Bahz takes the walk. First two have reached and just like that they have the tying run coming up in the form of Michael Conforto. To the right side it’s France. He’ll get this one. Second for one. Korea’s return and they do get two. That is a huge twin killing and it goes 361 outstanding on all three legs of that particular defensive journey. Well to get out of this inning first and second nobody out. To get out of it without allowing a run putting putting up a zero after your team gets you the lead is big time stuff for Sim. This is a big at bat. swung on, pulled towards first base. France has it. He’ll flip to Sim. Sim steps on the bag. He beats the Comet to the base. And despite putting the first two men aboard here in the home second, Simeon Woods Richardson hangs a donut on the Dodgers. That’s back to back case for Yamamoto. Castro on first now. Two outs. Castro runs this time. Got a good jump and a better throw and he’s out. Well, in addition to leading the league in average and on base, he leads the league in caught stealing. As valuable as any catcher out there. Four pitch walk for Rohos to open the third. Let’s see if they can do something with the leadoff man reaching. They had the first two on last inning and couldn’t score. Caught by France and that’s a double play. How about a little moonwalk back to the bag and there you go. Ty France reached up and stole it out of the sky. And Simeon Woods Richardson has a lucky horseshoe hanging over his head right now. That’s the third walk for the Dodgers already. And the table set for Otani here with two out. Show struck out his first time and is now one for 16 in the day after his starts. Strike three at 94. So Woods Richardson after the mound visit a couple of walks with a double play and strikes out Otani for the second time tonight. Now the Dodgers have had some traffic, but Sam is up for the challenge. Backto back walks. That’s now five tonight. And that matches a season high. Talked about this last night. Can’t give this Dodgers offense a free 90 ft. Three straight innings the Dodgers have had the lead off man on. Haven’t been able to do anything yet. Pah up there as the tying run. Now Pah pummel a ball left field. It is gone and we’re tied. Andy Pahz has gone deep in backto back games. He’s up to 19 on the year. A three-run blast. We got a new game. Now the walks. You’re living so dangerously against this lineup and this team at this ballpark. And just like that, the lead is gone. Eddie P has hit one home run in his previous 22 games. He’s homered in both games against the Twins. And Yamamoto, even though he’s at 92 pitches. Nobody was warming in that pen until just a moment ago. It’s a ground ball to Freddy Freeman. Snares it on a short hop and he steps on the bag all by himself. That got on Freddy in a hurry, but he dropped down to a knee to field that low liner and record the first out. Strike three swinging. Yamamoto beats Jeffers with the fastball. And that has been the money pitch tonight for Yoshobu Yamamoto. And Willie strikes out. So Yamamoto his best inning comes likely in his last. A one, two, three fifth. He strikes out two more. And Pasperius, he can’t throw it over right now. Yeah, something’s going on here. He’s got no grip. Two walks in a double here in the inning. Not used to seeing him this scattered. Base is loaded. Nobody out. Here comes Royce Lewis and that’s another walk. Third of the inning and the Twins regain the lead. He just motion to Dave Roberts. There there’s something going on. Something going on with that right leg. Various sleeves with an injury. Here comes Alexis Diaz making his Dodgers debut. One in, three on, nobody out. And Harrison Bader’s coming up. And Bader check swing tapper third base. Rojos will bare hand throw and Bader is out as a run scores. Fine play by Miguel Rojos with his bare hand came in down the line and Bader is out as France scores. It’s 5-3. Now the infield is in as Vasquez bats runners at second and third and one out. Line to left field a base hit. Waller scores. Lewis will be held as the throw comes in from Conorto. So Vasquez swinging away. He drives in his third run tonight and the Twins have a 6-3 lead here in the sixth inning. So second and third, two down now. Has Song Kim Dodgers trying to chip away in the sixth. Kim into center field. It’ll knock in two to get him back to within one. A little two out burst. Kim knocks in a pair. Six to five in the six. Third straight walk for Klein. And the bases are loaded for Royce for the second time tonight. Gardo Enriquez making his Dodger debut. Check swing tapper first baseline. It’s going to bounce. Enriquez bobbles, throws away into right field. Keep that arm going. Tommy Watkins. Two runs are in. Walther’s going to score. Lewis will stop at third base. Walks. Miscues. Twins capitalize. It’s 95. That is not the way I expected the Twins to score some runs right there. Enriquez says, “I got it.” But then he doesn’t got it. really want to bare hand that. Tries to glove it. Throws it past Freddy and Royce is on his horse all the way to third. The bases are cleared. Cory, I’ll say this. This has got to be the sloppiest inning of baseball in the big leagues all season. And Anthony, he’s going to come out of this game. This is This is something right here. The Twins had Duran and Topa in the pen. Whoever comes in is going to do so with a 3-2 count to Andy PZ as Anthony will leave here in the eighth inning. It will be Durant right now with a four-run lead. A man on, nobody out, eighth inning, and he inherits a 3-2 count to Andy Pahz. Pah rips a base hit to left. Wow. 102 and he pulls it over Koreah. The potential tying run is on deck. Michael Conforto, he doubled his last time up. Well, Durant has done exceptionally well this season with that spinker is induce a very high ground ball rate like that. There’s one, two, double play. Number three on the night and there are two out here in the eighth. Freeman scampers down to third. A huge double play. That was a tailor made double play ground ball for Duran who now needs one more out to finish the eighth. Royce Lewis from the grass throws him out. Job well done, Joan Duran. And the Dodgers Strand Freeman. Ninth inning, Twins by four. And a leadoff double for Korea. Fourth time he has reached tonight. Good night for Ty France. He has been on three times. Also has scored three runs. And if the Twins can push a couple runs across and you can sit Durant down, I mean that is massive. And France sends it high and deep to right center field. This one is back to the track to the wall and off the wall. Boy, late break from Kareah. Takes a big bounce back into center. Kareah is heading home. The throne to the plate is not in time at Tai France with a runcoring double off the wall in right center. And the Twins have a tense spot here at Dodger Stadium and lead by five. Joan Duran indeed is coming back out. So he will try and finish off the Dodgers here tonight. This should be fun. Duran Otani with two down ninth and smack the other way. Bader’s back. Goodbye. What a marvel. Show Otani off Yan Duran. For the first time in his career, he’s gone deep four games in a row. And now the Dodgers down to their last strike and the pitch is swung on a miss and this ball game is over. Smith strikes out and despite the Otani blast in the ninth, Duran finishes the job and the Twins win at Dodger Stadium for just the third time in franchise history.
