Are the Dallas Stars ready to take the next step?

So when you’re a team that goes to the conference final year after year after year, often times that’s a standard of success that they want continued. They keep the head co not here, not the Dallas Stars, Pete Dbor, remember the pull of Jakeer and the disagreement and the discussion that followed. Well, Pete Dbor was relieved of his duties. Glenn Gullatson took over. We had an interview with Glen Golitin after he accepted the job. We sat at this desk and asked him about that high standard. You’re taking over a job where the expectation is you go to the conference final at least and he gave all the right answers. We know he’s been a coach in this league before. In fact, started his head coaching career as the Dallas Stars bench boss and then obviously had the time at Calgary. It was fascinating to see just how these guys are the most competitive humans on earth. Glenn Gullson not only acknowledged it, he relishes this chance. I really loved his comments, too, because here’s the thing. This is so interesting to see a coach fall into a circumstance like this, right? Because you rarely see a coach coaching a successful team, depart from that team and have somebody new come in. But I think Gullison takes the exact proper approach. Remember the key phrase, Tony, change the trajectory by just two degrees. Change it by two degrees. And that for a team like Dallas could be a really big step forward. I’m bullish on this team. Have been for a while. Um, when you look at the top three lines they trot out, you might even extend that to all four lines. I don’t know that there’s another team as deep in the Western Conference and they continue to be that way. Keep your eye on this piece as well. Remember, Rantin is a deadline transaction. What’s this team look like now? Yes, you’ve subtracted Mason Marchman, but the contribution I think really had come short for Mason Marchman. Branton is there from the start of the season forward with a good track record already part of the regular season. Um, you know, was there for the entire stretch through the postseason of course, but integrating Ratin for an entire 82 games. I think that bodess well for this roster. So, I’m strong on this group. More on that to come as we talk about how they sort out next year. I mean, they’re they are a good hockey club. We know this and and Stu said it. I mean, what what’s it going to look like with Miko Randon there a whole season? we know about is how long he’s going to be there a very long time. So, settling in. Uh I think they’re going to miss Mico Granlin. I I I think in some regards, but they’ve got guys there. Can Wyatt Johnson take that next step? Like we all he can flying into this? He’s clutch in the playoffs. He looks like he’s a budding superstar. Can he keep that going? Can he take another step? I think that’s going to be huge on where this team finishes. And Jason Robertson has shown the ability to be a horse. I hope he’s on the Olympic team, but I digress.
