Golden State Warriors TRADE Jonathan Kuminga To The Phoenix Suns? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Golden State Warriors be trading away Jonathan Kaminga to the Phoenix Suns this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from Fadeaway World.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Golden State Warriors receiving Grayson Allen, Rice O’Neal, Nick Richards, and a 2029 second round draft pick, and the Phoenix Suns receiving Jonathan Kaminga. So, the future of Jonathan Kaminga in Golden State is still up for debate this off season. All signs point towards him probably finding a new home prior to opening night, but uh the longer that this kind of goes on, the more likely that he actually stays in Golden State uh to start the season. But if Kaminga was traded a couple weeks ago, the favorites I would say would have been the Sacramento Kings. But now I would sort of focus on the Phoenix Suns because they’ve been a team that’s reportedly been interested in keeping tabs on Jonathan Kaminga and his trade value this off seasonason. So the Suns are a team looking to add some talent to their roster. Uh they moved off of Bradley Beal this off season as well as Kevin Durant and are sort of heading into a different direction uh for the 2025 26 season. So, with new players on the roster, uh, such as Dylan Brooks, who they acquired in the Kevin Durant deal, as well as Jaylen Green, adding another guard to the mix in the form of Jonathan Kaminga is a bit of a log jam. So, maybe if they wanted to pivot off of Jaylen Green, flip him elsewhere or say, the same could be said for Dylan Brooks. Maybe get a player that could help you in the front court, then this trade makes a little bit more sense to me. But what this trade doesn’t really consider is that the Suns don’t have a lot of draft capital at their disposal. with what they would be doing here, sacrificing a lot of their um you know, I guess their depth and getting a good young star player. So, I kind of see both sides of it where I would actually probably bank on Jonathan Kuminga going to Phoenix and blossoming into a superstar, trading some other players and kind of going about the roster that way and then maybe if you’re able to flip players like Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neal, Nick Richards and keep some of that draft capital is not a terrible idea. Get a little bit younger and maybe you never know, maybe you trade Dylan or maybe you trade someone like Deon Booker down the road. I guess only time will tell. Now, from the Warriors perspective as well, this trade makes a lot of sense. Like, Kaminga doesn’t fit there. And if they want to get a little bit deeper, go on a bit of a championship run, maximize their window while their players are still, you know, playing at a relatively high level, but they are a little bit older. Jimmy Butler, of course, Klay or um not Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green. Adding Grayson Allen to the mix, a good two-way player. He’s hard to play against as well. Royce O’Neal, you know, a stretch three, a three and D guy. and Nick Richards as well for the front court. This trade makes a lot of sense. It makes the Warriors deeper, fits their timeline better, but so does the Suns. So, kind of a win-win trade here, but if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with Golden State just because it makes this team deeper. And for the Phoenix Suns, the next question mark to me would be a bit of a log jam in their back court. So, what happens next? But, uh, pretty good trade as always. Leave your thoughts.
