And uh it’s going to start here with this matchup between the Miami Marlins and the San Diego Padres’s. the uh the Miami Marlins sending out Sandy Alcantra for the start in this one while Lee Padres will counter with Dylan Cease. And you know the thing about Dylan CE has been that you know he hasn’t necessarily panned out in terms of being the ace level pitcher that the Marlins or sorry that the Padres’s pardon me were hoping that they would get when they picked him up at the trade deadline. I mean, you know, for me, CE is still, you know, has the potential. I mean, you go back to his best and his his, you know, peak days with the Chicago White Socks. And, you know, there were some pretty strong years in there as well. But the thing about Dylan Case now has been that, well, you know, he’s had his blips and, you know, he’s given up in his, you know, before his last start where he went five and a third innings, four four hit shutout ball with 10 strikeouts against the Nationals. He gave up a combined 14 runs, 13 earned over 16 innings of work with seven home runs against the Diamondbacks, the Phillies, and the Reds. But I still think that CE can be a solid option here. I think he’s has a decent shot at pitching well against a Marlins lineup that, you know, in the last two weeks has done a decent job of hitting against right-handed pitching, hitting .305. You know, their team OPS numbers are solid guy. Keep in mind that the Allstar break is factored in there. So maybe it’s a sample size of nine to 10 games, but still I think that CE could be a solid option here. Um yeah, I think that the Marlins still not a team, you know, I’m eager to back in terms of their level of consistency. You know, they’ve been able to win games and, you know, they’ve been sort of on that, you know, win three in a row, lose three straight, sort of a very streaky team. And unfortunately for the Marlins here, I just have a hard time backing Sandy Alcantra. He’s not the Sandy Alcantra that we have come to know and expect the last few seasons. You know, the thing with Sandy is that I’ve kind of just been I was waiting for him to kind of turn the corner. Thought just yet. He had just, you know, rough first couple starts of the year and now it’s just regressed back to the Sandy of old. Now granted, the Marlins have been able to to split his last four starts despite Alcontra posting an 8 8.61 erra over that four start stretch allowing 22 runs over 23 innings of work. But I still think that Alcantra, you know, gets roughed up here. The Padres’s in the last two weeks, including the All-Star break, have been a bottom five team in baseball against right-handed pitching in terms of batting average. Their team OPS numbers, you know, haven’t been anything special. Neither have the isolated power numbers. However, it is just hard to back Sandy Alcantra just in the form that he has shown for much of the season. The Padres’s bullpen, I think, is on par with what the uh the Marlins have been producing over the last couple weeks. So for me, I just until I see Sandy Alcantra, you know, if I see Sandy Alcantra really string some wins together, that is that is if he’s still a Marlin, you know, after the trade deadline here. But I think that, you know, until he shows me that he’s rided the ship and, you know, got it back on track that it’s it’s just hard for me to get there. So, I’m going to roll with the uh the San Diego Padres’s in this one and that’s going to be my free pick.
