Brutal. Such bad baseball for so long.
Dewitt should sell the team to someone who actually lives in St. Louis and cares about the team

Getting out scored 16-10 in a series vs one of the worst baseball teams of all time isn’t very good is it
100% done. Even with the fedde move. Im not watching a team that doesnt fucking care if it loses series to the worst teams of all time. Seeya next year. Maybe.
Just lost a series to one of the worst teams of all time. Shame.

Imagine losing a series to the worst team in history.
Closest the Cardinals came to scoring today was the 2nd pitch of the game when Donovan hit one 3 feet foul home run distance.
I’ve switched my baseball fandom to other MLB teams who play like they want to win games. The Cards have stopped trying.
Fermin should play tomorrow and Masyn should get some rest. Burly deserves to be off his feet as well.
The Cardinals are now one game over .500 and a negative 4 run differential. Far cry from the good feeling a couple weeks ago leaving Cleveland 9 games over looking forward to pounding the Pirates.

Who knew how important Erick Fedde would be to the offense?
Two articles the last two offeasons really laid out this organization’s rot:
1. That interview from one of the last two offseasons where Mo was praising Gray for asking about things he’d seen elsewhere, like pitching labs, and Mo saying “We don’t have that. Why don’t you tell me more about that?”
2. Katie Woo talking about how the major league payroll and the player development payroll are one budget.
You want balance but clearly they shorted the long term one to get butts in the seats and now it’s all come crumbling down because the attendance sucks as much as the prospect pool, the last two first round picks notwithstanding. Now we’ve got to pray to Ruth someone can actually teach them because who the hell knows?
Yikes.
Man that marmol sure is a coach of all time
How did we totally lose the ability to evaluate and develop talent? How!!!???!! This is one of the cornerstones of The Cardinal Way. Maybe THE most important tenet of our beliefs. Unbelievable how we got here and have LOST OUR WAY.
Rockies fans are being reminded to not get too excited about winning this series because after all it was just against the Cardinals.
It’s safe to say this team over performed in the first half and is now regressing.
We saw the ceiling, a fringe playoff team. Now this floor is capable of bottom 5 team. The rotation is atrocious.
If you thought those three shutout days in Pittsburgh were the low point…
My theory on the way this season has gone . The cardinals F/O and ownership are doing this on purpose to create a environment so toxic that the players with no-trade clauses will actually waive there no trade clauses. The cardinals knew going into the season that a full rebuild will be required to be competitive in the NL central. In the off season Arenado, contreas and gray were asked about their no trade clause and incidated that they wouldn’t waive their no trade clause or would only go to select teams. This would delay a full rebuild and continue the stagnation the team has been in for at least 3-4 years.
There is no rationale for having Mozeliak be in charge of decisions related to the roster/trade deadline this with bloom replacing him next year. Many examples this season what appears to be self sabotage to this team: examples Garrett Hampson, Ryan vilade, Jose Barreo, when better alternative( Thomas saggesse) was playing a majority of the year in AAA and most the most recent example of the prolonging the decision to DFA Fedde until recently. No team that has any hope to contended would make these decisions. These decisions have caused friction between the team and the front office and seems to be a boiling point. With the friction in the clubhouse plus the prospects of yet another losing season this will now be a breaking point the players with no trades: ( Arenado, conteras, gray) to waive them during the deadline and allow for the full rebuild to begin
This would be a bad look overall for the organizations future when it comes to signing free agents or being listed as no trade destiniation for top talent. This is why Mozeliak is still in charge and it has been made abundantly clear that he is still the top decision maker when it comes to roster moves. When the season ends Mozeliak will be the scape goat for the season and Bloom will get a team with no large contracts and will be able to take over with a blank slate
It’s the Rockies first shut out since last season. Over 200 games
Be glad they’re in Colorado. Nobody needs to suffer through this in a hot and humid ballpark. We’re suffering today in Wisconsin, too. Just gid rid of Mo and start over. Crazy thing, the spell check reads his name as MO (Missouri).
Given the last few games seems prudent to trade Nado if possible or even if not give Gorman the bulk of the playing time rest of season. Re commit to the runway nonsense they spewed. Give crooks a shot. And when it’s time promote JJ for an end of season taste
HAHA
This team packed it up the moment Mikolas gave up 6 dingers at Wrigley and management shrugged it off.
2 straight games with a lead off jack for JJ Wetherholt
Wow
Second homer of the day for JJ!
Hey! Remember when I said like 30 minutes ago that JJ hit a leadoff Jack, well he just did it again.
We could have had Tommy Edman.
I guess 3 home runs in a row for JJ was too much to ask for
I swear, I can watch a random MLB game and there’s like a 40% chance Aroldis Chapman is playing. Dude is everywhere
