And it’s going to start here with this matchup as we head to Dyken Park for a match up between the Houston Astros and the Athletics and AOL West match up. You have Jason Alexander listed as the starter for the Houston Astros while the Athletics will send out Luis Severino for the start here. And you know, Severino had a nice bounceback outing last time out. It was five innings of two-run ball on the road against the Cleveland Guardians. And you know, it’s all well and good. thing is though is that it’s the Cleveland Guardians for an offense, you know, that that for the most part in the month of July was really struggling. Yes, the Guardians, you know, surrounded the All-Star break before and after by playing some good baseball and winning a fair number of baseball games, but you know, still I’m not really buying into Luis Severino. You know, he has been better on the road, but we also can’t forget that he only struggled at Kame Park. He struggled at Yankee Stadium, giving up seven runs in each of those two starts. And now you face a Houston Astros team that’s coming off a series win over the Arizona Diamondbacks that gets back home and where they played their better baseball this season by a fair margin and you look at their numbers against right-handed pitching in the last two weeks, including the All-Star break, but you know, still a decent uh team OPS number, a decent isolated power number. The uh the Babupip is solid. They have a high strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, but again, Luis Severino for me has just hasn’t been much of a strikeout pitcher. And while you know the Athletics have had decent numbers against righties all season long, you know, even when they were in the midst of that horrible losing slump, I believe it was back in um late May, early June, they were still hitting the ball well, it was just the pitching that was letting them down. And I’m not going to just blatantly forget the fact that the Athletics, you know, with Luis Severino on the mound in terms of team record this season are just six and 15. And you go back to May 11th, you know, over the course of Severino’s last 13 starts, this is still a an athletic team that’s just two and 11 in Severino’s last 13 outings. Far more often than not, he’s putting his team behind the eightball. And with Jason Alexander on the other side, Alexander not necessarily a world beater by any stretch of the imagination. He’s only pitched 15 innings this season, but I think he can be good enough in this start for me. The Athletics just not as strong in the bullpen either. I think the the Astros have a huge edge in the bullpen, too. And like I said, just I don’t like betting against this Astros team at home, especially when we’re getting a great price with them. So, I’m going to roll with the Astros here. Like I said, just I’m not buying into Luis San Marino after one one decent outing.
