It’s all about professional baseball. It’s how we were raised. Billy, uh, I was really more excited for Billy establishing himself. Uh, because he had a go get this. There’s a lot of expectation on him and, uh, and a lot of pressure on him. All of a sudden, he got things together. and he was one of the best second basemans that I played with. So, I was really happy for him coming up and uh we were looking forward to actually trying some double plays and doing things as uh as teammates more so than brothers and and dad. But he he did learn however not to call dad dad on the field because, you know, I made that mistake when I first came up and that was one of my little bits of advice from Billy said call him 47, call him Rip, call him Cal, don’t call him dad. Now, from the standpoint of all three of you together, I think the first time together ever, you know, where, you know, you could be in this room. I think we had a little bit of a spring training opportunity. Bloom and cheese. Hello. Welcome in. We did a couple things at the same time. Uh, but but Billy was four years younger than I was. So, uh, in any level of amateur baseball, he was just the agents were too too great. Um, I would used to always pick Billy on a team in a pick playground situation. uh if I was one of the team captains and would choose my teams, I would choose Bill really and make sure we team and I try to put him under my wing and take care of him a little bit. But at this stage, he’s a broad man getting to the big five where we are. So it was really weather delay. We just got to sit here and hang it out. This probably was the first time we played together that night. It’s a game against the Minnesota Twins. Frank on the members of the game. Well, I remember I hit Frank Fol pretty well and uh I didn’t remember that I was Hey, we’re just a couple views away now. I’m sure those uh that 0 for four was a hard 0 for four where I hit a couple balls hard against him. But trying to explain to Billy that Frank was one of the game’s best pitchers and he came up with his change up and he’s going to throw his change up fast counts. So try to wait on him. That’s a tough thing to tell a young hitter. I don’t think Billy had any hits either. So uh Frank Wlet I think some gem of the game beat us that night. But uh it was good to get out there on the field and be teammates. Yeah, your dad probably beat you a few ground balls before the game, the two of you. What’s that like knowing you know the timing factor at second base, you know, you got to throw over there in case of a possible double play. Well, I guess looking back in my history, I don’t know if I had like 40 different second base or something. If they’re waiting on lightning, they could be a while. Times you had to go through. It could be a while. The communication between brothers was much easier. It’s almost seemed like you could do it without words. and uh we we really quickly got to know each other and where we liked the ball and uh it was just a matter of executing through that point. So there’s a lot of excitement in practicing um and it was a different game because of all the uh all the uh extra we got a lot more Orioles games coming up this week. We got Yankees games, Phillies games, all kind of stuff. In some respects once the game starts, you’ve done this stuff many many times over again. It’s just a matter of it’s an extension of your practice. We talk a lot about excessive media coverage of sporting events. Was there a lot of media coverage that night that you can remember? Uh I don’t remember. Uh I remember a certain excitement for me um that was my brother and the excitement for him to do well. I wanted to him to establish himself.
