What do you mean? We’re never going to lose again
They’re really about to clear $40M off their already embarrassingly low payroll and you KNOW that’s not getting seriously reinvested this offseason
It’s going to end up being all of them, minus Bednar and Reynolds. I have nothing to back that up with and zero information that would lead me to come to such a conclusion.
McCutchen clearly is not leaving or being traded, so he doesn’t count.
Who cares- the Steelers are in camp! The Succos can pack it in for 2025 now!
All but Cutch. Nutting is hoarding money before the 2027 lockout.
IKF, Bednar, & Heaney from that list. I think less key pieces move than people expect.
I can see a salary dump of all or most of the list. They’ll sell it as letting the young players get some MLB experience. I’m convinced THERE’S NO HOPE!
IKF
What I have come to live with in the current era of Buccos: take the names that absolutely should not be traded and those who have the most potential and expect them to be on the trading block. I think this year everyone not named Skenes. But in a few years. It could be everyone.
I still remember waking up to Cole going to the Astros after they had just won a series in return for a Robert Wholeys Fish sandwich and a tour of the Southside fake burger king.
2013-15 is such a distance memory now. The faint promise of hope glimmering along the Allegheny ignited a fire in this city. Fuck Bob Nutting.
If they trade someone like Keller and they take treat it like a salary dump I am going to be extremely pissed. Just because his contract is an “albatross” to the pirates does not mean in any way that it actually is an albatross.
He should be able to return a serious package. Good quality pitchers with term are a very valuable commodity. Giving him away because Bob is desperate to shed payroll would be a travesty
Why trade anyone if your goal is to own a profitable, but perpetually losing, MLB team? If Nutting wasn’t comfortable with an $86.4 million payroll, these players wouldn’t have these contracts.
Keller 100% will give you the best return. Package him with Bednar or Hayes and I think we get two solid bats.
Not a fucking Quinn Priester for nick Yorke (pirates lost this trade by a wide mile btw).
These players must be gitty with the opportunity to compete for a title! 🫤
I hope the league puts in a salary floor
I’d trade IKF and Heaney for sure and probably Bednar too and sell high. Probably keep the rest.
They might be able to get a few low level lottery prospects for Cutch. If they can, they should move him if he allows it
