Baltimore Orioles @ Cleveland Guardians | LIVE! Play-by-Play & Commentary | 7/24/25 | Game #102

[Music] On a Saturday, her young Po called to see if she’d like to go to see a show, but Miss Kate said, “No, I’ll tell you what you can do. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crackers, Jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root root root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. [Music] Ky saw all the games, knew the players by their first names, told the umpire he was wrong all along, good and strong. When the score was just two to two, Casey Casey knew what to do. Just to cheer up the boys, she knew. She made the gang sing this song. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crack a jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root. Root, root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. for it’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. [Music] Greetings folks and welcome to live coverage of Orioles baseball where this afternoon the Baltimore Orioles will be playing the fourth game and final game of this four game series against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. How you doing everybody? It’s your old pal the bird watcher here. People call me BW for short. Uh the Orioles, it’s not pretty. It’s not a pretty time right now. It’s not been a good year. And uh lately, it’s not been a good uh week or two. Uh we have lost three straight here in Cleveland trying to avoid a 4ame sweep. Uh we are freef falling and news keeps getting worse as uh Felix Bautista has been put on the 15-day disabled list. uh retroactive to yesterday. He felt something wrong in his shoulder while out in the bullpen. He reported it. Uh they kept him uh out of action yesterday for good reason. Uh we didn’t we lost the lead and uh we weren’t uh in a position to use him anyway. But Felix Bautista uh is going to be on the DL. Who knows for how long? uh he’s going to get an MRI today to get a look uh a closer look at precisely what’s wrong and how long it’ll take to fix. But uh I guess there is a silver lining to the news. Uh I don’t think anybody in Birdland wants to see Felix Bautista to be traded. He has been heavily rumored as one of the oral players to get traded in in this trade window. Um, again, you don’t want to see any players getting hurt as a reason to be a cure for anything, but uh, the fact of the matter is he is injured. He’s on the DL. And, uh, I’m hoping that that status is going to prevent, uh, the team from making a deal with somebody. uh because honestly we don’t really know how long Bautista is going to be out and other teams that might be interested in him. Uh at least for right now, they don’t have a clear understanding about how long he’s going to be out either. Uh so we’re going to have to wait and see. We’ll probably get an update in the next 24 hours or so regarding the severity of the injury and what kind of loose timetable they’re going to put on this. I think we’re all in agreement. If unless it’s something very very minor in which he’s just on the minimum two weeks on the shelf, uh there’s probably not a really good reason to bring him back and have him pitch again for this season. Uh again, if we’re going to hold on to them, if we’re thinking about 2026, after having waited about a year and a half to get them back, uh after going down uh in what, late July, early August in 2023, we missed them all of 2024. Uh we had to use him sparingly to start this season. We finally got him up to speed. He’s been one of the few bright spots on the team this season uh and a very very important piece of a team that is contending, which we hope to be uh next year. So, I do hope that uh the Orioles handle the Bautista situation uh carefully, perhaps even more careful than they have with some other players. Uh but yeah, that’s the big news. All right, so pitching match up in this final game this afternoon in Cleveland is going to have Charlie Morton on the mound. He’ll be facing a left-hander by the name of Logan Allen. Uh Morton did not have the best start last time out after starting the season 0 and7. He had won his he had won six straight decisions and then uh last time out took the loss. He currently has a record of 6 and8 with a 4.06 06 erra and a 1.38 whip. Considering again how his season started, those are some pretty damn good numbers. Uh he’s done a lot to work his way back to respectability and could Oh, I’m looking I’m sorry. I’m looking at Logan Allen’s numbers. No wonder they look so good. Never mind. Morton is five and eight. So, he’s won five decisions in a row and then the loss uh last time out. He has a 5.58 erra. My apologies. I felt like low fours was a little bit too good. Uh 156 whip for Morton. Logan Allen is the one with the 4.06 RA 6 and8 record and a 1.38 whip. My apologies for screwing that up royally right out of the gate. Morton versus Allen. Uh the lineups for the visiting Orioles. Jackson Holiday will once again lead off and play second base. Jordan Westber will do the dhing in this one. He’ll bat second. Gunnar Henderson will hit third and play shorts stop. Raone Lauraniano will bat in the cleanup spot and play left field. Tyler O’Neal is in right field hitting fifth. Ramona Aras will bat sixth and play at third base. Kobe Mayo in the lineup again. He’ll play at first base and bat seventh. Dylan Carlson gets his first start in quite some time. He’s playing in center field. Uh he will bat eighth and Alex Jackson will do the catching and bat ninth. A few left-handers that you would normally see in the lineup. Uh Colton Cowser, Cedric Mullins, and Ryan O’Harn all seemingly getting uh the game off or at least to start the game with the left-handed Logan Allen on the mound. Uh for the Guardians, a couple of changes. Uh they’ve mostly put out the same lineup these first three games. Steven Quan will lead off and play left field. Angel Martinez will bat second and center field. Jose Ramirez is going to DH today. He’ll bat third. Kyle Manzardo is at first base and the cleanup hitter. Nolan Jones is in right field batting fifth. Daniel Schneman will hit sixth and play second base. Is it WDE Wilson? Wson? Will Wilson? Will Wilson is at third base hitting seventh. Uh he hasn’t played much this season. Just no homers, one RBI, and a 174 batting average. Brian Rochio will hit eighth and play shortstop. And Austin Hedges uh will take uh the catching duties over Bo Naylor for this uh early afternoon game after a night game. He’ll bat ninth. uh again doing the catching. Uh let me check and see if there’s some other notes besides Bautista worth mentioning. Uh your pitching matchups for the coming weekend in uh back in Baltimore against the Rockies. Dean Kramer will pitch tomorrow night. Trevor Rogers on Saturday and Tomyuki Sagano will pitch on Sunday. Uh, regarding Bautista’s MRI tomorrow, uh, Manscolino is quoted as saying he’ll meet with our doctors and we’ll have a better idea as to the severity of the injury. So, fingers crossed, folks. We just don’t want it to be a major major injury. Uh but any kind of injury that is going to keep Bautista out beyond the two weeks for the uh disable list he’s on, I say go ahead and uh go ahead and shut him down for the rest of the season. Let’s keep our eyes on 2026. this season. Uh, you know, it’s just it’s only going to get more difficult here for the next couple of weeks trying to win ball games cuz now if we do have a lead late, uh, we’ve traded Brian Baker away, that was our eighth inning guy, and now we’ve lost our ninth inning guy. So, some other uh, bullpen guys are going to have to step up and uh, take larger roles. Uh, I would assume Sir Anthony Dominguez would be the most likely candidate to close games. He’s got some limited experience doing it and he has among the currently active relievers in our bullpen probably the best peripheral numbers across the board on the season. So, I would expect um Dominguez to get most of the looks and save situations until Bautista returns. Uh otherwise, it’s probably going to be a committee approach leading up to that ninth inning. I don’t think we’re going to have a set eighth inning guy. Probably just playing matchups. A lefty, Sodto if needed, a righty maybe. Uh gosh, I don’t even know. Probably Kitridge. I’d probably put Kitridge and Sodto as my highest leverage guys leading into the ninth and probably put Dominguez out there to close it out. That would probably be the way I’d do it because honestly everybody else in this bullpen right now I don’t have a whole lot of faith and Yinier CanĂ³ has started to look a little better in his last couple of outings. So perhaps CanĂ³ can work his way back up into a more high leverage spot. But we’re just looking to get into a high leverage situation, folks, with the way things are going right now. Let’s just try to get into a lead and then see how this bullpen is going to play out. All right, let’s get this game up. We’re about 3 minutes away from first pitch, folks. Uh once again, I’m happy to announce uh I made it uh known yesterday if you weren’t here. Couple of things. First of all, congratulations to the channel for reaching over 100,000 hours of watch time uh since this channel started at the beginning of last season. Uh that is a crazy amount of watch time. Uh that’s a lot. 100,000 hours. That’s that’s damn near the length of a Ken Burns documentary. I mean, that is a that’s a lot. I think that’s I think that’s uh equivalent to watching all seven Police Academy movies 3,000 times in a row. I don’t know, something like that. Um yeah, and also I’m very happy to report, although the circumstances aren’t exactly uh happy. I guess I’m being a little bit selfish, but uh I’m not going to have to exit the country next month uh for my visa run, which means it looks like I’ll be able to keep calling games and keep the streak alive. Of course, fingers are already always crossed. Uh the streak could always end for any given reason. Uh health or internet issues, who knows? Uh, but at least I know that I got a shot to keep it going. I won’t have to worry about uh making plans to leave the country until October. And I got a feeling, folks, I’m not going to be missing any oral games in October. So, we’re good to go. All right. Apparently, this game is one minute away from starting. And yet, I’m still staring at the waiting waiting uh screen. Are we sure I’m watching the right ball game here? I’m going to go back and refresh this thing. I’m not confident. I mean, at this point, I should be seeing something. First pitch should only be one minute away. Might we uh win one of these four games? That would be nice. A fourame sweep. is uh not good. Am I going out on the limb by saying that? A four game sweep and not good. You got to win one. Just three days ago, I had this crazy idea of, hey, what if we swept the Guardians? That would put us level on record with them. All right, looks like we’re ready to go. Jackson Holiday is making his way into the batters box. And yeah, Logan Allen is making his 19th start of the season. He’s made one appearance out of the bullpen, 6 and8 record. And we are ready for baseball, folks. Final game of this four game series. First pitch is outside to Jackson for ball one. [Music] Holiday next pitch swings and hits a ball to first base. Manardo will take it to the bag unassisted for the first out in today’s contest. The Guardians defensively Quan in left, Martinez in center, Jones in right, Wilson at third, Rochio at short, Schneean at second, Manzardo at first, and Hedges behind the plate. Guardians wearing their home whites shirts and pants. Road grays for the Orioles. Here’s Jordan Westber. He did not look comfortable at the plate yesterday. And he takes a first pitch swinging a miss here. Next pitch swung on, hit hard, but stopped at third by Wilson. But he’s got nothing on the throw. It’ll been be an infield hit for Jordan Westber as Wilson did a nice job to stop it, but uh bit of a noodle arm there. That ball died on a bounce going over to first. Westber’s aboard with a one out single. Good to see Westber get a hit. He needs to get on a roll. Here’s Gunnar Henderson, folks. His name’s Gunnar and he’s dating my mom. Gunner takes a first pitch strike, a fast ball. He’s hitting 275 with 11 homers, 35 driven in OPS just under 800. 01 is fouled back. It’s 0 and2. We can attempt to see if the scoreboard is working. Right now it’s just showing Westber coming up to hit. I guess it’s better to be behind than uh better for the board to be behind me than the other way around. That pitch looked like it caught the outside corner on 02, but the umpire says ball one. Gunner could have easily been rung up there. So he’s got a free swing. One ball, two strikes, and there’s a swing. It’s a foul ball. We’ll do it again. All right, let’s refresh this and see if it helps. Where are you? Where the heck are you? The one two to Gunner. First a check on Westber. He’s back. Hope everybody’s doing well in the Charm City chat. I’ll be checking in with you probably between this inning and the next one. Two pitch fouled back. We’ll do it again. Well, let’s try to get some names in here. Doesn’t look like it’s too big of a crowd right now. El Duterino, Matt Andrew. Yes, Hulk Hogan. uh Hulk Hogan passed away. Tell you what, folks, I don’t remember another time in my lifetime where so many like larger than-l life figures were uh leaving us seemingly every day. Uh Gunner Henderson strikes out. That is the second out of the inning. El Duterino, uh, Patrick Axeminster, Northern Grower, Froggy, Chilo, Edward. Here’s uh, Merone, Lauriano, BW, my friend, I am can see why. All right, I’m already struggling. BW my friend I am can see why the team is struggling with all the chatter of trades at the deadline and it may be messing with their mindset. Yeah I it’s not just your opinion Edward it’s my opinion too. I’ve been talking about this for probably about the last four or five games. Uh it’s you know a team in this much flux. It’s just really difficult when you don’t have an identity and you already have the problems offensively you’ve been dealing with all year. You got a clubhouse with players you don’t know where they’re going to be in in a week. Yeah, it’s just it’s really difficult to play winning baseball with so much so much in flux right now. Uh Raone Lauriano with a 1-1 count. There’s a snap throw to first and Westber just gets back. Austin Hedges nearly caught Westber off first base. It’s a 2-1 count on Lauraniano. Two down with Westber at first. Raone just threw a rock at me. Hey, Pigtown is here. How you doing? Slater De Brun has signed. That’s great. Everything I had read made it sound like he wasn’t going to sign. That’s That’s huge. Okay, so the Orioles, say what you want about the talent uh we picked up in the draft in terms of addressing needs for the team, but hey, we got a lot of good players and they’re all signed up. Uh, if that is the last good thing Mike Elias does, uh, so be it. Again, I will not take away from what Elias has been able to do in his years with the club in terms of drafting position talent. I mean, we’ve got countless examples. I say countless, I guess you can add them up, but uh, it’s a lot of a lot of good major league talent. There goes the runner. Or was he just faking a run? That ball’s crushed. Lauraniano deep center field going back looking up. That ball is gone. Bye by by Ramon Lauraniano loves it here in Cleveland. As a member of the Guardians, he had only two home runs against Cleveland in four games. He’s got three. It’s a two-run shot here in the first. Two nothing Baltimore. Raone Lauriano folks [Music] know. [Music] [Music] Here’s a line drive. Base hit by Tyler O’Neal. That’s down the left field line. He’s not going to test the arm. And good thing the throw comes back in towards second quickly. But O’Neal with a hard hit liner for a base hit. And the line keeps moving, folks. Well, all right. Pigtown says, “I believe only one guy is in signing a 12th rounder.” Yeah, whatever. 12th round, whatever. At that point, nobody’s complaining, right? Uh Ramon Aras, he goes after the first pitch, hits it to center. Martinez broke in and the ball is over his head. O’Neal will be able to round third and score easily as Ramona Reas. That’s the third double he’s gotten in a week on a ball hit to the outfield that the fielder could not judge. Aras is getting help from the baseball gods. It’s an RBI double. It’s three nothing Baltimore. 12th double for [Music] [Music] All right, Kobe Mayo coming up. Let’s get it all on there. Just spread it out. First pitch hits him on the hand. Unbelievable. Hopefully his hand is okay. Mayo doesn’t appear to be uh any worse for the wear. Manelino is coming out to talk about something. Manelino is a trainer now. uh holding the left hand of Kobe Mayo after getting struck by this pitch. Oh, it looks like it got him on the wrist. Just above the hand. Okay, that’s a little redundant. I think everybody’s aware that the wrist is just above the hand. Nicely uh worded there, BW. I tell you, the person who looks least concerned about it all is Mayo. Okay, so apparently they did not roll it a hit by pitch and we had to use a challenge in order to get that call. How did you not know we got hit? Whatever. We use the challenge and we retain it because we’re right. Right. Right. Four million. Okay. So, they had to overpay in order to do it. Oh, well, they’ve got the money to do it. Hopefully, he’ll be the be worth it. Uh here’s Dylan Carlson up now with two on, two out. I got to move his uh that ball’s hit towards center. Martinez, though, is right there. makes the catch. The inning is over, but the Orioles put a three spot up on the board. Two of them off the bat of Lauraniano. How many home runs is that? I think he’s now tied for the team lead with 14. I could be wrong. I’m about to find out. I have to go up to another page for that information because ESPN doesn’t provide it. Oh, actually, if I click on full box score, that should do it. That is home run number. Yeah, 14. I do believe that’s tied now with said Mullins for the team lead. Holiday might have gotten up to 14 by now. 14 is the magic number. We got a lot of guys sitting on about 12, 13, 14 home runs right now. But uh man, if Lauriano was given a chance to be an everyday player right from the beginning, he’d probably be closer to 20 home runs at this point. We go to the bottom of the first. Orioles three. Guardians are coming up. Nice three-run cushion for Morton to work with right out of the gate. Folks, uh just a friendly reminder, we’ve got 84 people chilling right now. Only 24 have hit the like button. 60 have not. Do you see why I have to bring it up, folks? When only about I don’t know, one out of three of you can remember to do this. I have to remind you. It’s what I have to do. So, please folks, uh, be kind and tap that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen. We’re in a commercial break right now. There’s nothing else to do. We’re waiting. Let’s get those likes up. uppidity up up. Yeah, it’s understandable. Again, I didn’t think we’re going to be able to sign to Brun, but uh if they’re going to overpay in order to get it done with all the pool money that they had built up for this draft, then go ahead and go ahead and pay him. He got his, we got ours. Let’s go. Uh here’s Steven Quan leading off the bottom of the first. And quickly the Morton’s ahead of him and two. Quan’s batting 285. And this pitch is hit on the ground to third. Aras throws. It’s a high throw, but Mayo able to keep his foot on the bag. They get the first out. Morton retires the pesky Quan. Here’s Angel Martinez coming up. And he helped the Orioles get an extra run in that top half of the inning by misplaying a ball in center. Not the kind of a play that he’ll get an error on, but he’ll tell you he should have made the play. 10 pitch is outside 2 and 0. Martinez is betting 252. Looks like uh the scoreboard is Not uh spoiling anything today. I don’t know why last couple of days I’ve been so far behind, but it looks like everything’s good today. Three 0 pitch to Martinez is called a strike on the outside edge. Yeah. So, Jackson is also at 14. So, that that’s the that’s the leaderboard. Mullins also has 14, I believe. And I think Gunner has 13 now. Here’s a fly ball down the right field line. It’s hooking foul in the count. Three and two. O’Harn or O’Harn has like 12 or 13. That 3-2 pitch is a little bit inside ball four. for a one-out walk by Morton. And the last guy you want to walk is the guy hitting in front of JosĂ© Ramirez. But it just happened. Here comes Ramirez. Can’t wait to not see I love watching this guy play. Just not against us. Jose Ramirez might be my favorite nonoral player in the league. and he hits a ground ball base hit into right field. He finds the hole. Martinez is going to go to third. Runners at the corners with only one out for the Guardians. Jose Ramirez does it again. Rising Rhino has joined us, folks. Say hi to him. [Music] Sorry, Rhino. I’m in the process of saying hello. Hold on. I’m almost done. I’m almost done saying good morning. Hang in there. Pitch to Manzardo. Curveball. There goes the runner. Throw down is offline. All right, shut up. Uh Gunnar Henderson looked more concerned about making sure the runner at third didn’t break home on that throw down to second. So Jos Ramirez add a stolen base to his box score already today. Again, he just does everything. Jose Ramirez does everything. Second and third with one out, 01 pitch to Manzardo is fouled away. It’s 0 and2. got a sinker at 97 miles an hour. Rhino, folks, be sure to check out Rising Rhino’s channel. Uh, he does a great job calling playbyplay. Football is his forte, but he does other things. 02 pitch. Swung on and missed. A big strikeout. What? That wasn’t an O-2 pitch. Or was it okay? Manaro has indeed struck out. He stood there at the plate for a minute. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Maybe Menzardo wasn’t aware of the count, but that’s a big second out. Runners still at second and third and a chance to get out of it with no damage. Here’s Nolan Jones. takes a curveball and a beauty. Drops to the bottom of the zone right on the inside corner for strike one. Jones is batting 223. Fast ball fouled off to the left. Jones was late and it’s 0 and2. One more strike for Morton to get out of this jam. Folks, I’m going to keep bringing up the like button until we get at least half of the people in the room to join in. There’s nearly 90 people here. We’re on 40 likes. Go ahead and tap that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen. 02 pitch. There goes a fake throw to second by Jackson. He wanted to see if the runner at third was going to break. Martinez is still at third. Ramirez at second. The one two to Jones. That ball’s hit hard but right at Mayo who makes the catch just off the ground. A low liner. Mayo grabs it and the inning is over. Wow. We got out of a tough jam there. Well done by Morton. We go to the second inning. It’s still 3 nothing Baltimore. Folks, I’m going to ask the Charm City chat to try to help me out here. Charm City Chat, those of you who have already hit the like button, could you perhaps try and convince those who haven’t, which is half the room, to just go ahead and do it? I really don’t know how else to uh convince. Uh, I have to bring it up for every game. I try to come up with new and clever ways to do it so as not to bore the ever living crap out of everybody, myself included. I’m running out of ideas. All I can do is just be blatantly honest. Uh, please hit the like button. You’re watching. It’s simple. That’s a simple task. I’d really appreciate it. I don’t know how else to I don’t know how else to say this to the 42 people out there that apparently just will refuse to do it. Okay, I’ll refrain. I’ll give you I’ll give you some time off. My goodness, folks. I’ve never wanted to get into dentistry and yet here I am on a daily basis pulling teeth. Get it? [Music] Thank you for your participation, everybody. Even when Queen Tanya can’t watch, she’s tapping the like button. That’s what I’m talking about. All right, we’re underway in the top of the second. Alex Jackson swings and misses at the first pitch. He’ll be followed by Holiday and Westber. Top of the order coming up. Oh, okay. Hey folks, sign in and then hit the like button. 01 pitch fouled back by Jackson. It’s 0 and2. So Cade Straoud, a right-handed reliever, has been called up by the Orioles to replace the injured Bautista in the bullpen. Jackson gets ball one, one and two, leading off the top of the second. Next pitch up and away. Two balls, two strikes. Jackson’s hitting 188. He hasn’t had too many at bats. 22. Oh, that was a nasty back door sweeper that just caught the bottom outside corner of the zone. That pitch was off the plate all the way in until it wasn’t. Jackson goes down looking. One away. And now here’s another Jackson Holiday. [Music] Jackson Holiday. First pitch is ball one. That one’s foul back. One ball, one strike. Did anybody claim Fetty? Uh, not that I’ve seen, but I’ll admit I haven’t done a whole lot of research. If there’s any news that’s happened over about the past 8 hours, I haven’t seen it. I got very fortunate. I laid down for a nap around 4:00 in the afternoon over here and I slept all the way up until my alarm went off to call the ball game. So, I basically had a night’s sleep in the late afternoon into the evening. So, I feel pretty refreshed. And honestly, now that I know that I don’t have to leave the country next month and be awake for that whole thing, I might just switch up my awake hours here for the final couple months of the season and just be a fullon night owl. Maybe wake up at 10:00 and go to bed at like 2:00 in the afternoon. Here’s a swing and a miss by Holiday. He strikes out. Two down. I got my coffee here. I’ve got I’m well rested. Feels strange. Here’s Westber swinging a miss. Westberg with a base hit his first time up. Infield single. Came around to score on the Lauriano home run. And the count now one ball, one strike. West is that way. Swing and a miss. One and two on Jordan. Danjo. Another name for NDJ 5775. Well, thank you, Dan Joe. That’s a lot easier for me to pronounce. Here’s a fly ball to right. Should end the inning. Jones is waiting on it. Takes a step back the other direction. makes the catch. Inning over. Nothing happening here for Baltimore. We go to the bottom of the second. They lead it three to nothing. Danjo is the newest Magic member, folks. Message for you, son. Look at those binoculars. Nice binoculars. Nice binoculars, folks. Becoming a Magic member has its privileges, but uh I’ll be honest, the perks are more about uh the the good feeling, the good vibes that you have knowing that for just 17 cents a ball game, you’re helping to support the channel. Uh otherwise, yeah, you get some binocular emojis next to you to let everybody know you’re a Magic member and some special emojis available to you. If you’ll take a look there, Dan Joe, in fact, uh I think there’s been enough in recent memberships with the growing number of members, YouTube allows for additional custom emojis. So, I think maybe tomorrow with this early game, between now and tomorrow night’s game back home against the Rockies, I’m going to take a look into those emojis, try to add a couple of more. We need to because uh well, first of all, one of them is a mountain and we might not have a whole lot more use for that for the rest of the season. Hey, if you’ve got any emoji suggestions, feel free to pass them on. Uh it’s a bit of a crapshoot out there when you’re looking for the special emojis, the custom emojis out there. Not all of them import correctly. I I did a lot of tinkering with these emojis. I spent more time on it than I should have uh producing limited results. This is not a fun topic, is it? Why am I talking about emojis? I don’t know. The point is I don’t know what the point is. Uh we’re going to the bottom of the second inning. Charlie Morton’s first pitch to Schneean is a called strike at the knees on the outside corner. Danielneman, [Music] that’s a long last name for just two syllables. Swinging a miss and two. Scotty boy stopping in just to say hi. Tony’s here saying hello from hot south Baltimore. Lazy Bum says he’s only a fan of McDonald’s breakfast. The rest of the menu is uninspire uninspired. [Laughter] Brown ball hits softly. Could be trouble. Holiday with a glove flip to first and it’s in time. Nice recovery by Mayo who initially tried to make a play on the ball. He gave way to Holiday. covered the bag and Holiday knew he only had one chance and that was to flip it right out of the glove. It all worked out. Nice impro improvd uh defensive play there between Mayo and Holiday. One down here is Wilson and he takes a big swing and a miss. Wilson batting just a buck 74. No homers, one RBI. With numbers like that, I would be feeling pretty uh annoyed if I were batting eighth or ninth in the order. You mean to tell me I’m hitting below this guy with these numbers? One-1 pitch to Wilson is a curve ball that bounces in there. Two and one. Scotty Boy checking in from miserable Yankee land. I know it’s miserable. You’re going to be in the playoffs. You just came off a pennant last year, man. Oh, man. Folks, being a Yankee fan, just imagine a life of misery. Yes. Than less than a year removed from winning a pennant. We haven’t won one since 83, but they’re miserable. Swinging a miss. Curve ball. Got him. Down goes uh who was that? Wilson. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Wilson strikes out on a Morton curveball. Yeah, I would hope Mayo is going to be an everyday player once this trade deadline is over with. Uhoh, Rochio fly ball to right. That one’s going to stay up. Playable for O’Neal probably 10 ft in front of the track. He makes the catch and the inning is over. Morton gets through two innings. This one a lot easier than the first. We head to the third now. Three nothing Baltimore. All right. Yeah, a mayo a special mayo emoji I think is a definite I’ll I’ll make a note of that. Mayo emoji is is going to be added in. Your Yanks helped us quite a bit this week with your crap. How are they helping us? How How is your team not doing well helping the Orioles? We’ve already dug our own hole. I don’t think anybody else playing badly is going to make a difference in our season. Unless we have an opportunity to play you 40 more times and go 35 and five. Is that possible? Otherwise, I don’t know what uh your I don’t know how one has to do with the other, but I appreciate it. I guess the help. Oh gosh. Uh right. I think it’s time to have a lucky. I’m in the mood. What are we going into? Bottom of the or top of the third. All right. Uh one second, folks. Uno momento. Gracias port. This is great ice. Gunner Henderson will lead it off for Baltimore. Takes a first pitch fast ball for strike one. His name’s Gunner and he’s dating my mom. That pitch off the plate. Two and 0. That’s what I mean, Scotty. Boy, you’re still playoffbound. Uh, I don’t see a scenario where you don’t make the playoffs. It may be only as a wild card team, but I’ve been saying it now for years. In this age of the wild card, it really doesn’t make a whole lot of difference. Uh if you’re a team that is World Series, uh this ball’s hitting the center field, backing up as Martinez. He’s on the track and he makes the catch with the glove over his head. Gunner Henderson with a ball hit to the deepest part of the yard. It’s a long fly ball out. One away. I forgot what I was going to say. something about the Yankees. Oh, yeah. I mean, just basically outside of maybe not winning. Yeah. If you’re a team worthy of winning the World Series, then you ought to be able to get through the wild card round. If you can’t get through the wild card round, you probably aren’t a World Series caliber team. So, I don’t I don’t even think there’s a whole lot behind winning the division anymore. It certainly means a lot less than it used to. Lauriano on one pitch grounds to shortstop. Rokio will throw him out. There’s two down, but BW with our sloppy play. We’re not going anywhere. You are going somewhere. October. Now, you might get knocked out in the first round by somebody you’re playing, but you know, come October, the regular season’s over. You wipe the slate clean. We’ve seen it every year. Some teams get hot at the right time. other teams do not and it can be an entirely different situation. You could be in fourth place by August, but with the way the wild card is structured, fourth place in the AL East might still be enough to get in the damn October. Scotty, you can sit here and tell me all the ways the Yankees might not possibly make it to the postseason, but you know you are. you’re getting in. So, just just hang on for the ride. Don’t count on it. Okay. Maybe you should be an oral fan then. If if you really want a guaranteed no chance at the playoffs, join us. Here’s a line drive base hit to right field for Tyler O’Neal. His second hit of the ball game. And you can see the guys in the dugout encouraging him to turn on the faucet. O’Neal does not get the message, but that was a nice swing from Tyler going to the opposite field. Second line drive base hit for him today. Here is Ramon Aras. He goes after the first pitch, fouls it back. It’s 0 and one. Aras doubled over the head of Angel Martinez. His first time up. 0 and2 now after a cut and a miss on a fast ball. Scotty, there’s no such thing as a second favorite team in the East. This is a division. Every other team that isn’t your team in the AL East should be your sworn enemy, including us. There’s no second favorite within a division. That is a conflict of interests of the highest order. One, two, pitch inside. It’s two and two. I mean, you’re allowed to do whatever you want to do. But holy cow, I would not be advertising that fact to either team. Don’t tell Yankee fans you like the Orioles and vice versa. Uh two- two pitch to Aras. Oof, that was close. Knee high on the outside corner. We get the benefit of the call. That’s a full count. No, I’m not. Ground ball to short. Rokio on the run. Makes the play and the inning is over. Nothing doing here for Baltimore in the top of the third. They’ve got three runs on five hits though in the first three innings off of Logan Allen. We go to the bottom half of the inning. They lead it three to nothing. All right, folks. Uh, I’m going to open up the back door so I can enjoy a lucky. I will be right back. Enjoy a little bit of Captain Chesapeake while I’m gone. [Music] We’re not winning the division, Scotty. It’s not happening. [Music] He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Bay. Well, folks, it’s time to panic. I can’t find a lighter. Oh, there it is. Okay. All right. There you are. Folks, tomorrow night, head on out to the yard and get you a floppy hat. And no, I’m not talking about uh a prophylactic. I mean, one you wear on your head on on your top of your head head. Showing bunt is Austin Hedges for some reason. and he fouls it to make it 0 and one. We’re in the bottom of the third. The second catcher on the Guardians, Bo Naylor getting the afternoon off. This ball’s lifted to left field. Lauriana will have a play. One down. Hey, we retired the number nine batter, folks. How about that? Number one. Number one. Number one. If everybody in the AL East goes on a 20ame losing streak and we play 750 baseball, do we have a shot? Uh given those parameters, yes. Uh, unfortunately, uh, the teams you’re talking about have to play each other, so they can’t all go on a 20-game losing streak. Steven Quan hits a ball deep to right, and that ball is going to go. It’s a home run to right field. It just makes it over the wall into the first row of stands. The Guardians are on the board on a home run by Quan. That’s just his seventh of the season. Under 100 miles an hour off the bat, but he squared it up and got enough on it to get it out of here. Straightaway right field. There’s probably about 5 ft of platform between the wall and where the seats start. made it into that first row of seats. Here’s Angel Martinez. He takes ball one. I got wishful think. I’m wishfully thinking about what her ball outside is 2 and 0. I love to think wishfully. [Music] I dare to dream. 200 pitch. That one’s lined past Holiday’s glove into right center field. Backto back hits for the Guardians. A home run and now a single. Better than a single followed by a home run. But now we got to deal with Jose Ramirez again. Just like that, the Guardians are sending the tying run to the plate in the form of Jo Jose Ramirez. My goodness. Here we go. Ramirez already has a base hit and a stolen base and he takes up and away for ball one. Crowd making a lot of noise. They pretty much expect Ramirez to produce in this situation. There is a breaking ball. Actually call it a change up off speed pitch in there for a strike at one and one. Ground ball could turn two. That would be nice. Morton with a check on Martinez at first. He’s back. third baseman Aras is playing basically a shortstop right now. Heavy shift on for Ramirez to pull another check on Martinez. That’s the second check and Martinez is not on his feet yet. He gets up slowly. and is bent over at the waist after sliding back in. He might have hurt himself there. Or is he just trying to fake us out and then going to try and take off on us? Don’t you try to fake us out. One the count on Ramirez. Martinez at first and this pitch is fouled back. Two strikes on Jamm. One ball, two strikes. Pretty loud crowd. There goes Martinez. And the pitch is fouled back. still one and two. So Martinez is fine. He’s trying to trick us. Oh my body. Oh, I’m in pain. I won’t be running. And like hell you won’t. Another one, two coming to Ramirez. Curve ball hit in the air. That ball is gonna find a hole in no man’s land in left center field. Shallow left center. Another dinker man. Jose Ramirez. Martinez goes first to third on the hit. It’s the same situation as the first time he came up. First and third. Ramirez probably going to think about stealing another base. Even when he doesn’t hit the ball hard, he finds a way to get on base. Tying runs are on for Kyle Manzardo. He struck out his first time up. That was a big strikeout. Morton checks on Ramirez. He’s back. Three to one Baltimore. We’re in the bottom of the third. The Guardians are threatening with runners at the corners and one out. First pitch to Manzardo is off the plate by half a foot at least. Ball one. Just another incredible season for Jose Ramirez. My goodness, that pitch is outside. It’s 2 and 0. Nervous times here. Would love to get a double play ball. Two pitch low and in. Not even close. It’s 3 and 0. Morton has not come close to throwing a strike in this atbat and he’s in danger of loading up the bases. Three 0 pitch. That is not close. It is a four pitch walk. Not a single pitch within half a foot of the strike zone. I mean, was that a pitcher round it? You kind of hope it was. Otherwise, Morton has gone completely wild. Here comes Drew French to have a chat. Bases loaded, one out, and Nolan Jones is due up next. I can tell you right now, Chilo, they’re not going to warm up the bullpen yet. If they weren’t going to get the bullpen ready for an ineffective Brandon Young in a similar spot, they’re not going to do it for Morton. They’re going to hope that the veteran can get out of the jam. I mean, let’s look at it this way. Okay, we let the runner at thirds come in to score on a ground ball, fly ball. It’s still a 3-2 Orioles lead and then get that third out and get out of here. I’ll be happy with that. Here we go. Base is loaded, one down. Nolan Jones first pitch top of the zone. We can’t get the call on the fast ball. It’s one and0. fouled back. One ball, one strike. Let’s keep this ball on the infield. Infield is playing back. Hoping to turn two. They will give up that runner at third if it means getting the second out. One-1 pitch swung on and missed. A curveball that dipped below the zone. Two strikes on Jones. Come on. We need a big punch out here or a ground ball. The one two hit in the air. Foul. Morton’s on 46 pitches right now. Another one two hit in the air. left field. Lauraniano backing up. Still backing up and he will make the catch against the wall and left. That ball gave Lauriano trouble out there, but he was able to recover. Just stuck the glove out at the last second to make the huge catch. A run will score on the sack fly. But like I was saying, this is the situation that I think we can all uh we can all live with it if we can get out of the inning right now. What a man. It looked like that ball would hit off the wall. Maybe the wind knocked it down at the last second. Lauraniano able to recover. It’s 3-2 Orioles now. First and second with two down for the Guardians. Here is Schneean and he goes after a first pitch. Popped up shallow right. O’Neal waving everybody off. Makes the catch and the inning is over. Okay, not all that bad. It sucks. We give up a couple of runs. We’ve lost a three-run lead. It’s down to a one-run lead. But you know, it could have been a whole lot worse. You know what could have been a whole lot worse? We head to the fourth inning. The Orioles lead it 3-2. And Chile said, “Go to the bullpen.” Come on, Chilo. Baltimore, you are seeing history being made today. Come on now. I tell you what, if Chile was the manager, he thought Sparky Anderson had a quick hook. Chilo would be pulling a pitcher out while he’s in his pregame warm-ups. [Music] Hey, that practice pitch was was was outside. Get him out of the game. I’m just It’s just a daily check-in and teasing with Chilo. How you doing, buddy? How you doing? Oh, folks. Hey, might we get to 3100 subscribers today? I don’t know. If we get to 3090, we’d have a chance. Let’s wait for that number to get to 3090. Only five games on today. I haven’t taken a look at the out of town scoreboard. Light day in baseball. Yes, sir. We’re the only game on right now. Next game won’t be on for another 4 and a half hours, folks. I should be pulling in mad numbers. In fact, we’ve got a nice crowd here right now. 114 people. All right, that number just went down. It’s still over 100. Here’s Kobe Mayo leading off. He goes after the first pitch, hits it to right and it’s right at Nolan Jones. One away. Mayo lines out to right field on one pitch. Folks, do tap that like button if you haven’t done so already. Please. The thumbs up at the bottom of your screen. We’d like to get to a 100 likes. It’s just how we like to do things. We’re in the 70s now. We’re well on our way. Here’s Dylan Carlson. Takes a first pitch strike. He’s 0 for one. Carlson, a switch hitter, batting from the right side against the lefty Allen. Pitch outside. One and one. This is a tapper foul. Two strikes on Carlson. Folks, tomorrow night we’ll be back in Baltimore beginning with a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies. Folks, if we got a chance to get some W’s this weekend might be the time. Head on out to the ballpark if you can. Pitch fouled away. Still a ball and two strikes on Carlson. The Orioles are going to give you some giveaways if you go. Oh, a terrible swing by Carlson on a fast ball at the top of the zone. He strikes out. Two down. Floppy hat giveaway tomorrow night. Jordan Westber bobblehead on Saturday. Thank you for your stinking likes, everybody. And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. Alex Jackson takes high for ball one. I offer you the opportunity to join me in glorious battle. Join us, folks. Subscribe to the channel today. There’s no commitment, no obligation, and no salesman will visit your home. Jackson fouls it off. It’s one and one. Two down, nobody on in the top of the fourth. This one’s popped up on the infield. Who wants it? Second baseman Schneman will make the catch right next to Rokio. The shorts stop and the inning is over. The Orioles have gone quiet since that three-run first inning. It’s a recipe we’ve seen a lot this year. They’ve got to learn how to put more than one inning of offense together in a given ball game. Three-run lead is down to a one-run lead. We go to the bottom of the fourth. Three to2 Baltimore. All right, folks. Uh I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere. Thank you. There’s the one two behind to right center field. There’s a base hit and that one gets away from Jazz. Another run is in. More bad defense from the Yankees. It’s seven nothing. Jazz couldn’t handle the throw coming in from the outfield. And just like that, it is a seven to nothing ball game. Just [ __ ] take the whole team off the field, man. Take the whole team off the field. Take the whole team off the field. Take them all. Get them all [ __ ] out of here. I’m so done. I I can’t even look at this anymore, man. I can’t look at this [ __ ] anymore. This is pathetic. This is This is This is truly disgusting. This is disgusting. Stick a fork in the Yankees. Head done, baby. Stick a fork in the 32 pitch. Hit in the air to right field and deep and the Mets have taken the lead. [ __ ] this team. Geez. Potty mouth. H maybe uh maybe our buddy is right. Maybe being the Yankee fan is tougher than anything. I tell you what, that’s got to be tough. 27 rings. Tell you what, bottom of the fourth, Wilson at the plate. Curve ball from Morton’s in there for a strike. Wilson struck out his first time up. That’s right, folks. No fbombs in the chat. It’s only uh Yankee announcers who are allowed to drop the fbomb because that’s news. I’m only I’m only relaying the news. So, you don’t have to censor the news. It’s It’s a news item. 02 pitch foul back. still ow and two. Don’t worry folks, if you love to curse, we do have opportunities to let it all loose. It’s called the earmuff eighth inning. And if we have it in play today, I’ll let you know. But right now, we got a lead. Pitch foul back going too. Hey, speaking of Johnboy, man. Oh, man. If you guys are aware of Jon Boy and Talking Yanks or whatever that show is where they’ve got Aaron Boon on there to do an interview on once a week basis. Here’s a pitch fouled away. It’s still 0 and2 on Wilson. John Boy Media and Aaron Boone have had some uh confrontations in their interviews in the past, but boy, the most recent one. It’s uh pretty funny to check out. Aaron Boon not happy. I’m sure he’s happy to get the paycheck, but uh he’s not happy with the questions he’s got to answer. Uh 0 and2 on Wilson. Swing and a miss. A beautiful curve ball from Morton. Sit down. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? [Music] Wilson retired. Here is Rokio. Grounded foul first base side. Hello there, Warog. Welcome in. We’re the only baseball game on right now. So if you like baseball, you’re in the right place. So 0 and one the count on Rokio. One out. Base is empty. Bottom of the fourth. Check. Swing. He went. That’s 0 and2. Swing and a miss. Another curve ball for a strike out. Second of the inning for Morton. [Applause] Well, you all come back now. You hear? Hey, thank you, District Nation. Appreciate it. Once again, we’re the only major league team playing a ball game right now. If you love baseball, you’re in the right place. Austin Hedges goes after a first pitch fast ball, swinging a miss. Two down, nobody on in the bottom of the fourth. The Orioles ahead three to two. trying to salvage one win out of this four game series. Here’s a sinker low and away. The count even up in one ball, one strike. Edges flew out back in the third inning. 0 for one. That pitch way outside. Very nice district. Very nice. Very nice. 2-1 pitch. Hit in the air and going to get out of play. Two and two. Morton trying to retire the number nine batter. Easier said than done for the Orioles this season. This pitch foul back will do it again. Still two and two. Oh, that’s good. Caffeine. Another two- two pitch. Curve ball in the dirt. Full count. Let’s find a putaway pitch here. You don’t want to walk the number nine batter to bring up Steven Quan. 32 curve ball called. Strike three. Well, y’all come back now. You hear Charlie Morton strikes out the side in order and every strikeout comes on the hook. Three curveball strikeouts for Morton. Very nice. Very nice. We go to the fifth inning. It’s 3 to2 Baltimore. Folks, Charlie Morton, his uh trade value is rising. Morton here’s a who? Orton hears an offer from another team that’s looking for an arm. All right, three runs on five hits for Baltimore, two runs on four hits for the Guardians. The Orioles will be sending up the top of the order. Holiday, Westber, and Gunner. Let’s go. I’m the only live man right now, folks. It’s me or it’s uh I don’t know what’s what’s shaking on YouTube right now. It’s me or watch one of those how’s it made videos and watch a half an hour video on how they make uh pizza rolls or something. You guys ever watch that stuff? How how it’s made? Rhino will be on tonight covering the Canadian Football League. Jackson Holiday first pitch is a strike knee high on the outside corner. Folks, we are in the top of the fifth. Actually, apparently it’s a one and one already. Here’s a ground ball. Second baseman over to first in time. Holiday is gone. [Music] 65 pitches from Allen. One out in the fifth. Jordan Westberg is coming up next. He’s dhing today. One for two. Which way is West? Well, West is that way. Here’s a tapper foul right near the the box there. Left side of the uh batters box. 0 and one on West. Are there 12 teams below 500? There could very easily be just 11 teams under 500. It’s not always an even 1515 split. One two pitch to Westber is up and away. Two balls, two strikes. This pitch is hitting the air to right. Jones looks like he’s got it. Heading toward the foul line, stops and makes the catch. Two down in the fifth. The Orioles again have gone stone quiet since the first inning. Gunnar Henderson is 0 for two. First pitch is inside. fouled back. It’s one and one swing and a miss. And Gunner, something happened on that swing favoring his right hand. Hopefully he’s okay. Henderson back in the box. He’s got a one-two count. Two down, nobody on pitch. Fouled off to the right. We’ll do it again. The one two hit on the ground. Base hit to left field. Gunner goes opposite field on the ground. He’s been doing that a lot this season to good effect. The shift is always on heavy for Gunnar to pull. Every time he hits the ball on the ground to the left side, he’s got himself a very high percentage chance of a base hit. And he gets another one here. Two out two out single. And that’ll get Lauraniano up who’s already homered today. Raone just threw a rock at me. First pitch to Lauriano. Strike knee high. Come on, Raymon. [Music] The 01 just kissed the outside edge with strike two. Tough pitch. Lauraniano’s in the hole. Two down. Gunner at first. The O2 to Lauriano. Low and away. Tell you what, the crowd the ballpark here just making a constant hum. There is noise in the ballpark, folks. Andrea has returned. the guardian angel of Charm City chat to gift another Magic membership. Here’s a ground ball at third base scooped up by Wilson. He has no play at second. Goes to first in time to win the inning. Lauraniano grounds out. Gunner is left stranded. This game is half over. The Orioles are still clinging to a 3-2 lead. Andrea is back, folks. Let Andrea know how great you and you uh appreciate uh the generosity there. Message for you, son. Message for you, son. And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. All right, Andrea does it again. Nice binoculars. Nice binoculars. Quickly becoming a cult favorite over here on the channel. All right. Uh what’s going on? I don’t know. I’ve lost my train of thought. Oh, somebody was asking whether or not I would uh do a live stream during this uh next week or so with the trade activity that is expected to happen. Uh let’s just say I’m going to play it by ear. Depending on the timing of a trade or the major impact or lack thereof of a given trade, that’s probably going to decide whether or not I go on. I could very well uh do a impromptu stream at some point over the next week, maybe more than one. It just depends again. So, my advice to everybody out there would be at least for this week, if you don’t have the notification bell set on your uh subscription, I would probably go ahead and turn that sucker on. I promise I won’t bug you with a notification unless it’s to go on the air to talk about a big trade. All right, we’re in the bottom of the fifth. Morton facing Steven Quan. First pitch is outside for ball one. The next pitch, same spot, 2 and 0. Quan is one for two. He homered his last time up. Swinging a miss on a pitch way inside. Wow. You normally don’t see Quan misjudge a pitch that badly. 2-1. Curveball fouled back. two two- two pitch to Quan. Breaking ball. That one’s crushed to right. It is going to leave the yard. It is the second solo home run of the day off of Morton by Quan. He only had a half a dozen homers coming into the day. He’s got two in the first five innings here. This game is tied up at three. Both home runs were hit less than 100 miles an hour off the bat. And yeah, this uh the storyline of this game is looking awfully familiar and not in a good way. Here’s Angel Martinez. He takes outside one and0. Brand new ball game tied at three. We’re in the bottom of the fifth. Martinez lifts one deep to right center. Long run and Carlson will chase it down out there. Tip of the cat to Carlson. He had a lot of ground to cover and not a whole lot of time to do it. That ball looked like a double off the bat. Big catch there for the first out of the inning by Carlson. Jose Ramirez is up with one out, nobody on tie ball game. And the first pitch is a change up. Nicely located by Morton to get strike one. J Ram is having another day. Two for two, including a stolen base. Next pitch is a little bit outside apparently. One ball, one strike. 74th pitch of the afternoon coming up here from Morton. Foul back one and two. Another pitch low and in. And down to the ground goes Ramirez. He is sprawled out. Apparently hit by the pitch, I think. No, not he wasn’t. It’s just ball two. Well, wait a minute. Now he’s given his Oh, yeah. That hit him right on the leg. Scoreboard had put up ball, too. But that’s a hit and pitch. Hit by batter. Ramirez will take first base on a hit by pitch. He’s reached all three times. Alex Jackson talking to Morton right now as Kyle Manzardo will wait to hit next. Bean ball time. Why? Somebody was asking yesterday about hitting a batter. Wh Why are we suddenly wanting to hit batters? What are the Guardians doing wrong? I don’t want to hit a player. For what reason? This pitch is high to Manzardo for ball one. Check on Ramirez. He’s back. Want to know the countenardo? There goes Ramirez. The pitch is popped up. Ramirez. Well, oh my goodness. Aras had a play near the tarp on the third base side. The ball though is going to bounce out of reach. He tried to backhand it, but he missed it. Hopefully that’s not going to come back to bite us. That ball wouldn’t have been an easy catch, but it was catchable. Swinging a miss. A big cut by Manardo. The count now one and two. Well, that’s an outlet of frustration for a team that uh I don’t have any respect for. Honestly, I I don’t I understand what you’re saying. I’m not saying it hasn’t happened and that other teams do that sort of thing. I don’t want to be a team like that. If we’re getting our asses handed to us and if we’re making mistakes, uh, that’s our problem. If the Guardians were doing something to show us up or run up the score or, you know, bunt when they’re up by eight, do do something to kind of insult us. Even then, I could at least consider it. But the Guardians are just playing good baseball. There is no reason to hit one of their players. Uh, this pitch is fouled away. It’s still two and two. There’s no good reason anyway. That would just make us look bad. Two- two pitch to Manzardo. Curveball called strike three. Throw down a second. is in time. It’s a strike them out, throw them out to win the inning. My favorite kind of double play, folks. [Music] Yes, sir. Strike him out. Throw him out. Ramirez caught stealing. Menardo strikes out. All right, the Guardians have tied it up, but we end the inning quick. We head to the sixth inning, tied at three. All right, do up for Baltimore. Tyler O’Neal, who’s already two for two, Ramona Reas and Kobe Mayo. Chew on that, Cleveland. So, the four games coming up later, Toronto will play Detroit. What a matchup that is. Both teams on 60 wins. Toronto a half a game ahead simply by losing one less game, having played one less game. Uh, but it’s pretty much a battle for the top spot in the American League between the Blue Jays and Tigers tonight. Uh, the Padres’s and Cardinals will come on later. Houston will play the Athletics and the Mariners and Angels will be playing later on as well. But yeah, that uh Detroit Toronto ball game, that’s that’s a pretty pretty marquee matchup. Let’s see who’s pitching. Eric Lowour against Reese Olsen. Okay, so it’s not exactly their aces going headtohead, but both of these guys have erra under three. Actually, both these guys put heading up some pretty nice numbers. Blue Jays and Tigers coming up later tonight. I might have that game on in the background while I’m chilling. All right, Tyler O’Neal is up. First pitch is outside for ball one, folks. Popeye, it’s two for two. Ahoy there. Anybody home popped up. He’s going to be two for three. This pitch or this pitch, this ball is near the first baseman, Manzardo. And wow, Menardo looked like he was ready and next thing you know, he had to take four quick strides toward third to make that catch. Nearly an accident on the infield there, but that is out number one. Here is Ramon Aras. I have a brother. Ramon strokes one to left. Come on, get back. Get back. Oh, it’s caught up against the wall. Aras hit the crap out of it. That ball jumped off the bat, but it dies right out there in front of that tall wall in left field. Caught out there by Quan for the second out. Here’s Mayo. That pitch a foot outside, ball one. Come on, Kobe. Let’s get it all on there. Just spread it out. We’re still waiting on a home run off a non-position player for Kobe Mayo. That ball’s hit to right, right at Nolan Jones. And this inning is over real fast. Orioles offense. It’s the same old story, folks. We we we put it together for one inning. Sometimes we’ll get couple of runs, sometimes we’ll get three runs, but uh we can’t seem to score in more than one inning. And when we do it in the first inning, it’s even more frustrating cuz it’s sitting there with an early lead and just watching it slowly evaporate. How many times are we going to see this same story, folks? Six innings for Logan Allen now. 84 pitches. He could come out and pitch the seventh. He very well could. The Orioles have not drawn a single walk today off of him. Just another indication of being a little bit too aggressive, not making that pitcher work enough. I cannot wait for an entirely new offensive philosophy to be put into place cuz I can’t stand this. And it reminds me back to when the Orioles were healthfully putting up runs and we had a gentleman here in the Charm City chat in the first season of this channel. Every time we’d hit a home run, all he had to say was one thing. Home run dependent offense. Home run dependent offense. As if for some reason we should uh not be happy with the runs we were scoring back when this offense was one of the best in baseball because we were just hitting too many home runs. I’d love to know his take on the offense these days. Yeah, we’re not dependent on the home run. We don’t have a guy with 15 home runs yet. Uh so, what do you think about the offense now? We are in the bottom of the sixth. Nolan Jones to lead it off. First pitch swinging, fouls it back. Morton is still out there. That was his 82nd pitch of the afternoon. If he can get through this inning without giving up a run, that’ll qualify as a quality start. Swing and a miss. It’s 0 and2. Curve ball hit hard but right to Mayo at first. He will take it to the bag unassisted. One away. Nice work there by Mayo. Mayo has looked pretty uh good over there at first base. I think that’s the spot for him. Third base asking him to get off a lot of throws and make more athletic plays. I think he’s just not built for that. But first B, he’s got a first baseman’s build. It’s a natural fit, I feel. Here’s Schneman curve ball in the dirt for ball one. Schne is 0 for two. Another curve ball in there for a strike. One and one. Lots of curve balls from Morton today. Sabrowski, a lefthander, is warming up for the Guardians right now. Another curve ball swung on and missed. It’s one and two on Steamman. One, two pitch. Low and away. Two and two. We’re tied up at three in the bottom of the sixth. One out, nobody on for the Guardians. And the 2-2 to Schneeman is way up and away. That ball got away from Morton. Full count. Payoff pitch swung on, fouled off to the right, bouncing off the dugout railing of the Orioles. 90 pitches now for Morton. Seth says he’s tired of losing. I feel you, buddy. That pitch is high. And that is ball four. Long at bat for Schneean. He works a one out walk. Morton is now into the 90s on pitch count. Time to keep an eye on him. And the Orioles should at least have somebody. Getting a little loose out there. Here’s some shots of some Orio fans in the crowd. I gotta tell you, I’m not sure any of them could pass a presidential fitness test. Here’s Wilson. He’s 0 for two. First pitch swinging, fouls it off to the right. Wilson has struck out both times up today. Snap throw over to first by Morton. But Wil uh Wilson the runner is back. Who’s over there? Schne Corbin Martin is up in the oral bullpen. Meanwhile, there is a sinker that drops in on the top of the zone for a strike. Morton has had trouble with the top of the order. One three hitters are five for seven. The four through nine hitters are 0 for 12. Ball hit on the ground at third. Nicely handled by Westber to second for one. Over to first. Two. a double play. And I’m sorry, that’s a reus at third base. It’s a double play and this inning is over, [Music] folks. We get a double play ball. Charlie Morton goes six innings, gives up three runs. That is by definition a quality start. It is the It’s the most unimpressive way to get a quality start. Minimum amount of innings, maximum amount of runs to give up, but uh it’s still a quality start. That’ll go down in the uh stat book. All right. Allan Pile says, “Sorry I’ve been gone for a while. It felt like I was bringing the O’s bad luck early in the season. Oh, Allan, don’t put don’t put all that pressure on yourself. I feel some way the same way. Some way sometimes I feel the same way. There have been uh games where I went to go start the stream knowing I wasn’t feeling good. I was mentally checked out or physically just hitting a wall. And uh it feels like every time I’ve ever started a ball game not feeling good, uh the team would go on to lose and I felt like I was to blame because I wasn’t ready. I was doing something wrong. But don’t put that on yourself. Garrett says if he sees Wolfrin come out today, he’s going to lose his mind. I’m with you. This isn’t exactly a murder. Okay, Axeminster, I think you’ve made a point like six times now about the low batting averages on the Guardians. I I think the point has been made. I think you’ve put a fine point on it. Here’s the top of the seventh. Dylan Carlson takes up and away for ball one. Carlson’s 0 for two. Next pitch foul back. One and one the count. Jackson and Jackson to follow Alex and then Holiday. Logan Allen still out there here in the seventh inning. He’s got a 2-1 count. to make it 3-1 now on Carlson, folks. Three- one. Maybe Allen should have ended his day after six. Next pitch. Carlson hits it to left, but it’s going to hang up there for Quan, who is playing relatively deep. He goes back a few steps and makes the catch in front of the track. One down. Carlson’s retired Alex Jackson. Queen Tanya says, “We need the hat.” Well, I think the hat might be uh might be uh not too far away. Jackson goes after the first pitch and fouls it back. He is 0 for two. strikes a strike out and an unassisted uh or is that a pop out to first base swing and a miss? It’s 0 and2 pitch and on the ground. Fair ball down the left field line. Jackson just finds the fair ball. He just finds fair territory. It is a one out double down the left field line. Big hit for Austin Jackson. Now you get Holiday in the top of the order coming up. Come on. Splash it up on that extra base hit. was taking a bath. And that’s that’s going to knock Logan Allen out of the ball game. Guardians were getting another lefty loose probably for this spot. Here he comes with Jackson Holiday and Gunner Henderson, two of the next three batters from the left side. So, the Guardians make a call to the bullpen to bring in another southpaw. Orioles have a chance to get the lead back after a one out double by Alex Jackson. All right, we’ve got a break in the action, folks. We get to 100 likes yet? We’re almost there. What do you say we break 100 likes before this game resumes? We got 95 and we’ve got the numbers in the crowd right now to get it done. Folks, if you have not hit that like button, please go ahead and tap that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen. We are just four away from breaking triple digits. And uh we like to do that around here. It helps. Just four more likes will get us there. All right. And in terms of subscribers, we are three away from 3090. So if you want to see that number change on the sub count up there in the top left corner of the screen, we’re going to need three more subscribers to come on in today. Come on in. The water is fine. You’ll be all right. I’m also on your Discord, so you know I’ve been on there for a while now. Same. I subscribe to your channel. Thanks, Allan. Hey, uh, any of the mods want to throw up the link to the Discord. If they haven’t done it already today, feel free. Eric Sabrowski is making his ninth appearance for the Guardians. Left-hander against Jackson. Holiday first pitch swinging. Pops it up to straightaway center. Martinez will backpedal and make the catch. It’s deep enough to allow Jackson to tag and get to third base, but there’s two out in the inning now. We still need a base hit or something from Jordan Westber. Well, West is that way. We have passed 100 likes, folks. Thank you so much for helping out and I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. Big, big thanks. Here’s Westber. We need a big two out hit. He takes a curve ball low and in for ball one. Come on, folks. A friendly reminder, nobody in chat cares about your bet except you. The count is one and one on Westber. Couple of right-handers getting loose for the Guardians right now. One-1 pitch, swinging a miss. That’s a ball and two strikes. Come on, Jordan. Runner at third with two down. The one two to Westber. Up and away. It’s two and two. Nope, Swissa. Nobody cares. Just you. [Music] Two-2 pitch to Westber inside. Full count. Come on, folks. [Music] Three balls, two strikes, two out. Go ahead, run at third base. The payoff pitch to Westber. taking low and in ball four. [Music] I’m walking here. I’m walking here. All right, folks. Gunner is coming up in a big spot. [Music] I think it’s time, folks. How you doing? [Music] The first pitch to Gunnar Henderson. Outside ball one, folks. [Music] Two down, first and third. The one pitch swung on. Hit down the left field side and slicing out of play. One ball, one strike. Come on, Gunner. Gunner. Gunonna. Gunner. One-1 pitch. Breaking ball crushed down for a base hit into right field. Coming in to score is Jackson going to third base is Westber. The Orioles have taken the lead here in the top of the seventh. A two out RBI single from Gunnar. It’s four to three. Hat Magic. [Music] a man. [Music] That’ll do it for the lefty Sabrowski. Called to the bullpen for the second time in the inning for the Guardians. as the Orioles lead it four to three. Two down with runners at second and third and we got a break in the action folks. The Orioles gave up the lead and got it back. Showing a little bit of moxy out there. I think it’s time for me to enjoy a lucky. I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere. All right. I mean, you know, I’m a Lucky Strike fan from way back. Do you believe in me? Oh, wow. Here he comes. Let me show you what I mean now. By the first thing you do is get right up in their face. You point the finger. Then if you can’t get close enough, you turn the hand around and kick some dirt. And then if he’s just a sprite, you get over here and you put dirt all over the thing. You throw the half down. You pick it up. You throw it. And you’re so bad you throw them out the game. You’re out of here. That’s the way a major league manager should. I learned something. [Music] Swaging up ass. [Music] Oh boy. Oh boy. It’s bacon. You never heard of Baltimore style. This is great ice tea. We’re on a mission from God. Folks, we are in the top of the seventh. Festa, a right-hander is on in relief. He’s facing Lauraniano. Two down, runners at second and third. First pitch is a strike and the next one is high. A fast ball makes it one and one on Lauraniano. [Music] pitch. Swinging a miss. Best snuck a fast ball past Lauriano. Lauraniano has three home runs in the series on three different games. He could get player of the week if he keeps it up with a hot series against the Rockies this weekend. One and two the count. Pitch outside. Two and two. [Music] Base hit with drivein two. That ball’s hit in the air left field going out as the shorts stop Rochio and he’ll make the catch in shallow left. The inning is over, but the Orioles get the lead back. They get it back. We hit the seventh inning stretch time, folks. The Orioles have a 4 to3 lead. I can’t think of a better reason to throw some cakes on the griddle. Get them cakes up in the chat, folks. Thank God. Come on, folks. Where is that oral pride? Thank god I’m a country boy. Are you a country boy or aren’t you? Thank god I’m a country boy. Are you with me or are you getting me? Thank god I’m a country boy. Thank god I’m a country boy. Are you with me or are you getting me? Thank god I’m a country boy. I knew you were with me folks. Let’s go. [Music] [Music] He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Bay when Folks, nobody gives you live playbyplay more with more entertainment and style for a last place team than your boy, the Bird Watcher. We are in the bottom of the seventh. Morton is out here to continue to pitch. He had 94 pitches coming into the inning. And he’s got a first pitch strike to Brian Rochio. And a curveball called strike two. That pitch was outside, maybe even low. Rokio can’t believe it. It’s 0 and two. Swung on and fouled back. Still 0 and2 on Rokio. Four to three Baltimore. We’re in the bottom of the seventh. We might see him only face two batters. After that, it’ll be Steven Quan, the lefty bat, top of the order. Might make sense to have a guy like Gregory Sodto, ready for that spot. We’ll see. 0 and2 on Rokio. Swinging a miss on the curveball. Sit down. Well, you all come back now. You here? Well, you all come back now. You here? Hit the bricks, pal. You’re done. You get nothing. You lose. Good day, sir. Well, when you I say when you got to go, you got to go, folks. Austin Hedges shows bunt and fouls it off to the left. What the hell is he up to? It’s 0 and one on the catcher. One out, nobody on. This pitch is hit in the air to right. Should be easy for O’Neal. He’s waiting. He’s got it. Two down in the seventh, folks. Charlie Morton one out away from seven complete innings. Hello. Hello. 101 pitches for Charlie and he’s going to face Quan. Pitch outside by over a foot. Ball one. Quan is homerred in the last two at bats. That’s why I was pretty sure we’d just go to another guy in this spot regardless of what Morton did for the first two batters. He’s two and0 now on Quan. I can’t blame him for being timid and wanting to throw a strike. make it three and 0. I mean, if you’re going to wind up pulling Morton after walking Quan, couldn’t you see him walking him happening already? There’s a strike. He gets one in there top of the zone. 3-1 count here. You want to be careful, obviously. pitch. There’s a strike. Morton gets back into it. It’s three and two. One more strike. We get through seven innings. I hear you, George. But Morton might just get us through here. Here’s the payoff pitch. Way up and away, there’s ball four. Way up and away. There’s ball four. The switch hitting Angel Martinez is coming up. Back-to- back switch hitters are coming up in fact. And Manscolino is now making a call to the pen at this point. Are they bringing in Martin? You’re not bringing in Corbin Martin. No, you’re not. No, you’re not. You’re not bringing in Corbin Martin. What are we doing here? No canoe. No kitridge. Not even a sodto. Corbin Martin, folks. One-run lead. You got Martinez coming up and Jose Ramirez on deck. I hope he can. I I’m going to root for him to succeed. Obviously, this is not the guy I want to see coming out here right now. At this point, we just need to get a win any which way we can to stop the uh bleeding here. So, if it means having to stretch one or two arms and make them unavailable tomorrow night, so be it. Again, let me remind you, we’re playing the Rockies tomorrow night. Hopefully, a team like that we can build a lead on where we don’t have to rely on our best arms to close it out. So, go ahead and tax our best guys. We need this win. Not Corbin Martin, man. I don’t care if the Rockies have won two series in a row. That means nothing to me. Again, I want the bird in the hand. I’m not worried about two in the bush. Give me our best pitchers right now. Oh my god. I hope we can get through this. Oh, come on. Charlie Morton, six and two/3 innings, three earned runs. He did walk four batters, five hits. Corbin Martin’s numbers look okay on paper. 2.70 RA. He’s only made a few appearances. I will uh I will hold on to hope here. First pitch to Martinez. Popped up. Hey, now on the infield, foul ground. Third baseman Oras has got it. And the inning is over. Corbin, I knew it all along. Do you believe in me? I always had faith. Do you believe in me? Oh my god. So Ramirez is left out on deck. Thank goodness the inning is over. We go to the eighth. Orioles 4, Guardians 3, BW Exhales. Kobe. Hey man, he talking about Kobe in Dallas. Oh man, come you got to help me man. Hey man, welcome to Flatsoms Paradise. What was that? It was bad. It had nothing. No fire, no energy, no nothing. Come on, come in. We need one out. Coin, we just need one out. Coin, come on, man. Come on, Coinb. All right. Thanks, Corbin. Thank you, Corbin. I’ll never doubt you again until, you know, next time. All right, folks. Two subscribers away from 3090. What do you say? Come on. Sub it up. We’re We’re gonna keep growing. We’re like the plant from Little Shop of Horrors. We’re Audrey, too. We’re mean and green and we are bad. We’re just going to keep growing and take over the planet. Said just give in. Sub it up. Join the cult. Kool-Aid optional. Top of the eighth inning. Jacob Junis is on the pitch for the Guardians. Right-hander making his 39th appearance. He’s got a 3.51 ERA. Let’s see. Let’s go over to the scoreboard here. Is it working? Tyler O’Neal is at the plate. He’s got two hits on the day and he’s got ball one right now. There’s a slider for a strike. One and one. Ahoy there. Anybody home? Folks, get those Popeye emojis up in the chat if you’re a Magic member. Let’s make some use out of those emojis. Come on now. They look like this. It’s one and two on O’Neal. That ball’s lifted into left center field relatively deep going out onto the track. Martinez makes the catch and takes a little hop into the wall. All right, enough with the Popeye. It’s over now. I was trying to get everybody excited. I flew out to left field. One away. Here is Ramona. He’s got a double today. He takes a slider on the outside edge for a strike. I have a brother Lemon RBI double. Back in the first pitch inside, one ball, one strike. We’re in the top of the eighth. The Orioles ahead by one. Breaking ball in there for strike two. [Laughter] Hot take from Garrett Family Aquatics, folks. Here is a soft grounder to short. Rokio will wind up and fire it over to first in time for out number two. I’m rooting for O’Neal as long I mean look I don’t want another player to not get at bats because O’Neal is just going to play every day because of his contract or whatever I but I want you know if he’s going to be in the lineup I want to see him succeed. We’ve we’ve got we’ve got some incentive for this guy to to figure it out while he’s healthy. Uh Ryan O’Harn is up to pinch hit with two down and looks at a called strike. I mean, if we’re ever going to see O’Neal leave within the next three years, he’s going to have to start hitting whether we can trade him or if he opts out of a his contract to test free agency, which is how his contract is set up, then uh that’s our best chance to wave bye-bye to the guy if you don’t like him. So that would be my advice. You can moan when you see his name in the lineup, but once the game starts, you should probably root for him to succeed. This pitch is fouled away. It’s two and two on Ryan O’Harn. That pitch is a little bit low and inside. Full count. Lights on. Let’s turn and burn. Foul away. Still three and two. Birdland doesn’t seem to like the way I play baseball. Maybe I should stop going to the gym so much. Another 3-2 pitch fouled away. It’s still a full count on O’Harn. Two down, base is empty. Another payoff pitch up and away. That is ball four. It is a pinch hit walk for Ryan O’Harn. I’m walking here. I’m walking here. All right, I think Dominguez is our most likely candidate to close games. Although he’s up now in the top of the eighth warming up. So if he’s coming on for the bottom of the eighth, then who is our closer? Kitridge. That ball hits Carlson. A slider breaking low and in. catches Carlson on the leg and he will get a free pass to first base. Just gra Well, maybe not grazed, but it didn’t hit him flush. Just above the knee on the left leg there. There’s enough meat there to absorb that hit. He’ll be okay. Two on, two out. And Colton Cowser is going to pinch hit here for Alex Jackson. Folks, get those cows up in the chat quick. [Music] Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to the bench for some big lefty bats. Ryan O’Harn has already made it on with a walk. And now the milkman with two men on base. a chance to add on to this one-run lead. We need it. Come on. [Music] I am a brother. [Laughter] [Music] All right, first and second, two down. First pitch to Cowser is way outside for ball one outside 2 and 0. I’m starting to get good at this. Pitch taken all the way. Two balls, one strike. Cowser’s average coming into today, 222. Two-1 pitch outside. [Music] Three and one on Cowser. The pitch swung on and drilled. Stay fair. That ball is a foul ball. Oh my. A line drive down the right field line. It just hooked foul. That would have been one of the shortest home runs in terms of time in the air. That ball would have been out of here in under two seconds. Just missed it. It’s a full count. Runners will be off here on the payoff pitch. Here it comes. hit on the ground to second over to first and the inning is over. [Music] All right, the Orioles cannot score in this top half of the eighth. Sir Anthony Dominguez is making his way out to pitch the bottom half of the inning. The Orioles lead it four to three. We’re going to the bullpen. Oh boy. Just another day at the ballpark, folks. Jose Ramirez will come up to lead it off for the Guardians. Yikes. Three, four, five hitters coming up for Cleveland. I will be right back. Don’t go anywhere. Thank you. folks. Today’s game is being brought to you by absolutely nothing. No sponsors, no gimmicks, just a guy trying to build a YouTube channel and is asking for folks who have not subscribed to go ahead and subscribe. Please, it’s free. There’s no commitment, no obligation, and no salesman will visit your home. you are simply helping this channel grow, making it easier for you to find next time you want to watch some Orioles baseball and uh it helps YouTube to say, “Okay, let’s push this channel out there to some more people that haven’t found it yet.” That’s what it’s all about, folks. Subscribe to the channel today. All right, Sir Anthony Dominguez is on the pitch. Jose Ramirez is on the hit. Here we go. First pitch is low for ball one. No wiggle room. Just a one-run lead here in the bottom of the eighth. Next pitch swung on and missed. A nice splitter from Dominguez. Ramirez was way out in front of it. The 1-1 swung on, hit on the ground to second base. Westberg over to first in time or excuse me, Holiday. Sorry, my mind was wandering back to yesterday when Holiday was dhing and Westber was over there. Holiday makes the play. That’s the first out in the eighth. A big out. Jose Ramirez retired. Hopefully that’s the last time we see him today. Here’s Kyle Manzardo. Chances are if that is the last time we see him, we win the ball game. If we see him again, it’ll be in a spot where they’re gonna have a chance to win it. Uh, one and0 on Manzardo. By the way, we’ve had a few changes on defense. Jacob Stallings is now catching. Ryan O’Harn is over at first base and Colton Cowser goes into the outfield. The count is 2 and 0 on Manzardo and that is high ball three walks are not what we want to see with a one-run lead late. 3 0 pitch there we get a strike top of the zone. So Mayo, Carlson, and Jackson, the bottom three of the order to start the game are all now out of the game. O’Harn, Stallings, and Cowser have come in. That is a base hit into center field by Manzardo. A line drive on a 3-1 pitch. Puts the tying run on for the Guardians with one out. Nolan Jones is up next. He’s 0 for two. I guess we’re gonna look at Kitridge as the closer. I don’t know who the hell else are we going to consider. Don’t tell me Sodto is a closer. I want to use him in lefty lefty matchups. Not as a ninth inning guy, though. Unless it happens to be three straight lefties in the ninth. But even then, I’m not thrilled about it. Uh Jones has an 01 count. 0 for two with a sack fly. Swinging a miss. It’s 0 and2. Class is up again for the Guardians. He’s already featured twice in this series. They’re going to try to make him go three straight days. That’d be something. This pitch is fouled away. Still 0 and2 on Jones. Ground ball could get us a double play and end the inning. 02 pitch. That one is grounded but foul off to the right. Once again, folks, the Orioles will return home after this ball game. Flight back to Baltimore with plenty of time left in the day and a night game tomorrow. So, some recovery time and then the Rockies are coming in. This pitch is high. One ball, two strikes. One and two, the count. Runner at first. That’s in the dirt. Two and two. Dean Kramer will be on the mound for us tomorrow. And uh Dino has been uh having himself a really solid season all things considered. Kyle Freeland, a left-hander, will be on the mound for the Rockies. Two- two pitch. That one is swung on and missed. Jones goes down. Two away. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now, you hear? Well, you all come back now, you hear? Dominguez getting it up there at 99 miles an hour. Two down for Daniel Schnean. First pitch, bottom of the zone, called a strike. And we got help from the ump there. That looked an inch low. 0 and one. This pitch is blowing away a splitter. Nean not interested. It’s Manardo over at first base with two down. The 1-1 to Schneeman. That’s in the dirt. And Jackson, where is it? Excuse me. Stallings is in there now. Had trouble finding the ball there for a moment, but it was right there in front of him. And runner at first. Manardo not going anywhere. Two balls, one strike. This will be the 19th pitch from Sir Anthony. That ball’s hit out to right field and it’s going to drop in for a base hit. Manardo can only stop at second base. First and second with two down, but the tying run is now in scoring position for Cleveland. And Dominguez is going to have to throw 20 plus pitches to get out of this inning. hopefully with the Orioles still ahead is four to three, but the Guardians are threatening. Let’s see if they go with a pinch hitter here. They are. It’s going to be Carlos Santana. The veteran first baseman switch hitter is up to pinch hit. comes in to hit for Wilson who went 0 for three. Drew French is out to talk to Dominguez. Stallings is in on the conversation. Crucial moment in the ball game, folks. Santana is going to pinch hit with two on and two out. Folks, we’ve got a moment, little break in the action here. Go ahead and hit that like button if you don’t mind, folks. We’ve got plenty of people watching. We can get those likes up to 150 before this game is over. If you are watching, please, one little act of kindness, hit that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen. It helps out the channel. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the call. All right, we’re back underway. Here comes the first pitch to Santana. And it’s in there for a strike. A curveball from Dominguez. Head-to-head, just two for two. That’s all Santana’s done off of Dominguez. Two hits, both doubles. Good grief. 01 pitch check swing. Did he go? No. Said says the third base umpire John Bacon. Oh boy. Oh boy. It’s Bacon. One ball, one strike from the belt. The pitch. Swing and a miss. A curveball from Dominguez. One more strike gets us out of this inning, folks. Come on. [Music] One ball, two strikes, two out. The pitch, check swing in the dirt. Did he go? No. Bacon, you bum. Even the homeplayed umpire asked for an appeal emphatically. Could not get it. Damn you, Bacon. Two and two. The count. The pitch that bounces in there. It’s a full count. And with two down, the runners will be off. Oh boy. Hang on to your hats, folks. We have maxed it out. Two down, full count. Tying run at second base for Cleveland. Go ahead, run at first. Dominguez leans in, gets the sign, the payoff pitch to Santana, swing and a miss on the yaker. A curveball that broke below the zone. A big strike out and the Orioles keep the lead as we go to the ninth. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You here? Well, you all come back now, you here. Hit the bricks, pal. You’re done. You get nothing. You lose. Good day, sir. Well, when you I say when you got to go, you got to go. How about this? Peace. Dope. Now get the hell out of here, folks. Exhale. We move on to the ninth. A one-run lead. Can we get a little insurance? Would be nice. Trying to escape Cleveland with one win in a four game series. And we were here for it. Come on, folks. Hey, the likes are almost at 120. Keep it going. I think we can get to 150 with a little bit of help. With a little bit of luck, with a little bit of luck, we can get to 150 likes. With a little bit, with a little bit, with a little bit of blooming luck. Come on, folks. What do you say? What do you say? We’re at 121. We are cooking with gas, folks. We got a couple of new magic members today. No super chats yet. No super chats. Haven’t had one of those. It’s okay. No pressure, but just saying. Just throwing it out there. Hey, top of the ninth. Four runs, eight hits, no errors for the Baltimore Orioles. Three runs, seven hits, no errors for the Cleveland Guardians. We got the top of the order. Jackson Holiday first pitch swinging. Ground ball to second. Schneman over to first. One down. That’s not Schneean. They made a change over there. Schneean has moved to third base. That is Angel Martinez at second base making that play. Martinez started the game in center. He’s moved to second. Schne has gone from second to third to replace Wilson who was pinch hit for by Santana. Santana’s out of the ball game. And a new right fielder out there. Rodriguez Jones was in right field. He’s now playing center field. So, a host of changes for the Guardians. Jordan Westber’s got an 01 count. And quickly, it’s 0 and2 after a foul ball, folks. Westberg. Well, West is that way. I just unsubscribe. Okay. It’s kind of hard to type that in because you have to subscribe in order to type. So the yoke is on you. One and two on Westber. Pitch. That’s a called strike three. And Westber can’t believe it. Manelino, where are you to bark at the ump for that terrible call? That pitch was low and outside. And Westber gets rung up. I mean, maybe it’s at the bottom of the zone, but it’s definitely outside. Folks, grab that ump. Grab him by the legs. Go grab that bee bag. Hold him down. Not the beast. Not the beast. My eyes. Yeah. Take it up. That’s what you get. Here’s Gunnar Henderson. He’s got an 01 count. Make it one and one on a pitch up and in. Come on, Gunner. His name’s Gunnar and he’s dating my mom. Two down, nobody on. One- one to Gunner. Swung on and out of play. Foul. One and two. Last chance to add on to this one-run lead. I think somebody had written that uh they saw Sodto getting loose. That should be interesting. One, two, pitch upstairs. Two and two. Come on, Gunnar. I think I failed to mention the lefty Kobe Allard has come out to pitch in this inning. He came out to start the inning, got the first two batters out. This pitch is fouled away. Still two and two on Gunner. He is two for four today. Another two- two pitch inside. Nearly hit Gunner on the hands. That’s a full count, [Music] folks. Let’s get up to 150 likes. We’ve got plenty of people here to do it. We’re the only ball game in town. Welcome to the Orioles Bird Watcher channel. I encourage you to subscribe. And Dwarfven Darkness says, “Unsubscribed again.” I’m not sure what you’re up to, Dwarfven Darkness, but some things are starting to annoy me, so I’m just going to give you a little bit of a timeout. All right, buddy. Take care. Really appreciate it. All right, we got an 01 count on Raone Lauraniano. Raone just threw a rock at me. outside. One ball, one strike on Lauriano. [Music] It’s really no reason to type unsubscribe into my chat twice while also, I don’t know, putting in about 15 messages in a span of a minute. So, uh, you can go ahead and take a break there, Dwarf & Darkness. Not sure what’s on your mind today. [Music] There’s a called strike that looked a bit outside. One and two the count on Lauraniano. Two down with a runner at first. The one two pitch up and away. Two and two, folks. [Music] Two balls, two strikes, two out. Lauraniano at the plate. Home run today already. Pitch swung on, hit on the ground to short. Rochio backhands, throws off balance. That is just in time according to the ump. Pretty close looking play at first. The inning is apparently over. Gregory Sodto is about to enter the ball game to try to close the door on a one-run lead. Ladies and gentlemen, hold your freaking breath. Close the door. Close the door. Close the door. My goodness. Gregory Sodto, we need you. [Music] I can understand the call here. I think Sodto is only going to face three batters. You got the switch hitting Rokio. You got the number nine hitting catcher Hedges. And if you don’t have Sodto out there, they would bring in the betterhitting Bo Naylor to face a right-handed pitcher. And then you got the lefty Steven Quan. They’re not going to pinch it for him. So, I get it. Based on matchups again, the Orioles are now without Felix Bautista. He is on the disabled list for 15 days at least. Uh but yeah, this is a situation where I think you got to get a guy like Kitridge up ready to come in if uh Sodto can’t make this save with a three up, three down inning. But I can see why you’re bringing him in for these three batters. I can see why. Will it work? We will find out here in a moment. The Orioles have out hit the Guardians 8-7 and have this one-run lead. Sodto is making his 45th appearance. He’s got an erra just over four. Bottom of the order here for well 89 and one I should say for the Guardians. Here we go folks. Hang on to your hats. I know I’m hanging on to mine. Couple of Guardian batters waiting to hit are watching Sodto take his warm-up pitches. It’s not mountain man time, Charles. We don’t have the mountain. He is on the disabled list as of today. It is closer by committee for the foreseeable future. Here we go. Brian Rochio is going to turn around to bat right-handed for the first time today. First pitch to Rokio is low right out of the hand of Sodto. That pitch always going down for ball one. David Fry is on deck to pinch hit for Austin Hedges. There is a strike. So Fry would come on to hit and then if the game were to go extra innings, Bo Naylor would come on to catch. Somebody remind Charles what I just said. This pitch is fouled away. It’s one and two on Rokio. He is 0 for three today. Oh, by the way, folks, it is the ninth inning. The hearts should be flying. Those heart emojis need to be flying in the chat. We got a count of two and two. That pitch is outside. Now, for some reason, I can’t see these emojis on the uh chat screen. I got up. But hopefully you guys are tapping those hearts. Two- two pitch. Grounded foul hit hard on the left side. It is still two and two leading off the bottom of the ninth. Four to three Baltimore trying to end this losing streak. Two two pitch. Swing and a miss. A slider at the bottom of the zone. That is the first out in the ninth. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Well, you all come back now, you hear? Well, you all come back now, you hear? All right, we got a tough couple of outs to get here. David Fry. He’s had a bad season in 34 games, hitting just 167, but this guy made the All-Star team last year and generally hits lefties pretty well. First pitch, beautiful, 98 miles an hour on the outside edge for strike one. Bry has not hit lefties this season. Just 162, so forget all that. Swinging a miss on a pitch in the dirt. It’s 0 and2. Come on, Sodto. [Music] Two strikes. Keep those hearts coming, folks. The pitch in the dirt again. This time, Fry lays off. One ball, two strikes on Fry. Pitch outside. Two and two. That missed by a foot. Hang in there, Charm City chat. Two two pitch coming. Swing and a miss. A backoor slider. And if he didn’t swing, it would have been a called strike three. Unless this ump screwed us. Fantastic pitch from Sodto. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Well, y’all come back now. You hear? It comes down to this. Sodto versus Quan. And Quan has hit two home runs on the day. Here we go. First pitch over the plate but low for ball one at 99 miles an hour. Quan has not gotten a hit off of Sodto ever. He’s 0 for seven. Excuse me. Grounder to third. Aras throws off balance and keeping his foot on the bag is O’Harn to get the final out. What a play. Marius gets the final out and the Orioles have won a game here in Cleveland. They hold on to win. Final score four to3. It’s a win for Baltimore, [Music] folks. Es [Music] something magic happens, folks. That’s the magic of Orioles baseball. When the game is on and BW’s here, we’ve got Charm City chat waiting to cheer. When the team is down, when Michael sucks, we keep on watching any we don’t give a darn. Magic. Magic. Magic. O R I O L E S. [Music] Something magic happened, folks. [Laughter] Boy, did you think I was going to rhyme with some some other word? This is a This is a PG-13 channel. That’s right. We’re back to 12 games under 500, folks. Baby steps. Baby steps. And what do babies do other than start to walk? Well, they crap their diapers a lot. So, the analogy still works. Some days we’re crapping our diapers. Some other days we’re taking a step. Today was a step, a baby step. Final score, Orioles four, Guardians three. Charlie Morton with the win. Logan Allen the loss. Gregory Sodto gets his first save of the season. I think uh for Baltimore Morton six and two/3 innings, threw 107 pitches. Did as much as he could do. Corbin Martin. I was so scared. They brought him in just to get one batter. He threw one pitch. Got that final out in the seventh inning. And then Dominguez threw a scoreless eighth. And Sodto with the scoreless ninth. Carl Schaefer sending in a super sticker. Folks, Carl, let’s start a run right here. What do you say? Message for you, son. And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. Folks, it’s been a long time. There’s been an Allstar break. BW sure could use a couple of tips today. I’m not going to I’m not going to fake it. If you’re feeling generous, go ahead and uh send a super chatter sticker on the way. Or hey, just give somebody else a magic membership. Hook somebody else up. But the channel could use a little help today. Hopefully a win like this will inspire a little bit of additional generosity out there. Okay, let’s look back at this uh box score here. So Martin got a hold. Dominguez got his 13th hold. First save for Sodto. Morton is now six and eight. Lauraniano hit his 14th home run of the season. A two-run shot. He’s up to 43 RBI. So, he is right at the leaderboard and both in homers and RBI. Again, where would he be had we had this guy playing every day from the jump? It’s been a really nice season for Lauriano. The Orioles did leave nine men on base. That isn’t uh too good, but the Guardians left seven themselves. Uh Austin Jackson, excuse me, Alex Jackson, uh had a double, his third. Aras also with a two bagger, an RBI double back in the first, his 12th. And uh yeah, we did turn a couple of double plays. And yeah, that’s about uh all she wrote. Gunner with a two-hit day. Tyler O’Neal with a rare two-hit day. Eight hits in total. Couple of walks and that pretty much tells the story. Uh once again folks, we’re the only game on right now. I don’t think I have anywhere I can send you. And I don’t know what to do with myself because again, I I was able to get a lot of sleep in before calling the game here. Normally, I would be jumping right back into bed and getting a few hours in before the sun comes up. It’s only coming up on 3:00 a.m. here, but I’m wide awake. I don’t know what to do with myself. Uh, here’s a tip for you, BW. Buy a plunger before you need a plunger. Thanks, Chilo. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I really, really appreciate it. Uh, you mean we still have a chance? 20ame win streak coming up. It’s not impossible. That’s right. Nothing is impossible when it comes to math. As long as there’s math that checks out, which means, are we mathematically eliminated right now? No. Will we be next week? No. Even if we lost the next seven games, we’re still in it. But come on, folks. Uh, I’ll tell you this again. I’ll make, you know, I don’t I I don’t want to uh put a damper on the day, but just so nobody starts getting uh delusional out there, let’s just keep in mind that the Orioles have basically let it be known in no uncertain terms that we will be selling players during this trade deadline, not not uh stocking up and strengthening the team. So, not only is our team going to lose some potential impact players like Orion O’Harn, they’re going to lose that bat in the lineup. That’s going to hurt. But all the teams that are ahead of us that are contending and are buying, they are all going to be at least theoretically strengthening their teams. So, we’re going to get weaker, they’re going to get stronger, and we’re already way the hell behind. So that’s why that’s why in the first couple of months of any given baseball season, you can’t really do anything to win or to put yourself in a position to lock in a postseason birth. you have to keep winning, but you can unfortunately start off so badly that basically uh you’ve played yourself out of contention just a couple of months into the season. And unfortunately, that’s been the case for the Orioles this year. We see uh some signs uh here and there, a couple of win streaks where it looks like uh you know there’s a reason to hang in there, but uh again the math is not on our side despite the fact that again we’re not technically out of it. I just want to put a little bit of sobriety into the conversation, folks. Again, enjoy the victory today. I will. I had a lot of fun calling it. It was a close game. It’s the kind of game that we’ve seen the Orioles lose a lot this season and it was uh nice to see him hold on. So got the save. An unexpected uh treat there. All right, folks. So come on back for tomorrow night. We are back for some home cooking, playing the team with the worst record in baseball. At least I believe that’s the case last time I checked. So, even though the Rockies apparently have won their last two series, I’m still going to lean into the larger sample size of the fact that over the past couple of seasons, they’ve been playing sub400 baseball. They are not a good team. Uh hopefully the Orioles can take care of business and at least win two and win the series. Uh Dean Kramer will be on the mound tomorrow night to get things started for us. All right, that should wrap things up. And again, that game tomorrow night, uh we will go on the air here at 6:50 p.m. East Coast time. All right. I want to say thanks to the mods in the Charm City chat for once again helping out and keeping the chat nice and charming. Big thanks to Oh, by the way, we hit 3090 on the sub count. So, for tomorrow, folks, we come back home and we hit 3,100. Deal. Good. We’re hitting 3100 tomorrow. Uh, thanks to the mods for the work they do in the Charm City chat. Thanks to the uh super sticker brought in there late. Thanks to Andrea for coming in and gifting another Magic membership. Thanks to everybody for hitting the like button and subscribing, folks. It may not be our year, but uh there’s going to be plenty of reasons to watch and hang out here with me. We’ve got a nice thing going here on the Bird Watcher channel. I look forward to coming back and calling my uh uh 2664th consecutive game tomorrow. I think that’s what it works out to. Working my way to 2131 or something. All right, so take care. Have a good rest of your Thursday and I’ll see you on Friday night. Until then, this has been the bird watcher and the hat and we will chirp at you later. Take care everybody.
