MLB LIVE🔴 Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels – Jul 24, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO
just about set to go now. So, here’s the lefty Tyler Anderson. Well, it hasn’t been a great year so far in terms of erra, but he’s had some decent games and there have been some flashes of greatness, if you will. We’ll see today if he’s able to get ahead of hitters and perhaps get some swings and misses, put himself in a position to bring that erra down because, you know, in the back of his mind beyond the W, he wants to have a better earn run average. Ready to go now. Here’s the veteran shortstop JP Crawford. And that’s in for a strike. And that’s how this game gets started. Swing and a miss. And that is strike two. Fast ball is outside. See if you can go upstairs a little bit. Make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading to count one, two. Don’t miss in the zone cuz that’s where you can get hurt. The wind of the pitch. Chop back up the middle. Needto on the run. Throw to first in time. Got him. And now we check out the Mariners lineup. One guy leading the way offensively for this club right now. Dominic Canzone. Tops on the team in batting average. Boo. A guy who’s showing off some excellent bat-to ball ability when he digs in at the plate. You know, that’s useful if your team needs to get an inning going, get a leadoff man on, but it’s also incredible to have a guy like that in the lineup because he’s a run producer who can drive in runs if you’ve got guys on base already. So, he’s a huge piece in this lineup. Julio Rodriguez in the box with one away as he takes ball one and another ball and downstairs and a four pinch walk. first base. He did not take the bat off his shoulder the entire at bat. Called Cal Raleigh will hit next. Definitely scuffling at the dish lately. Under the Mendoza line so far this month. No ball, one strike. Raleigh working on a massive campaign right now. Putting up some big home run numbers. Rodriguez over at first with one away. swing at a liner foul off to the right. Well, we’ve seen him flex some impressive power this season and there’s still a lot of time to go. If he can keep up this pace he’s on, we could be in for something really special. [Music] [Applause] Gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. Mad at first. One away. fights that one away. Still one and two. Swing and a miss. Struck him out. He’s really good hitting the baseball the other way. So, credit the pitcher for having him out in front of that pitch. Clearly, he had him full. [Applause] Now it’s Randy Rosarena. Left field. Ward makes the play and that is that. Mariners leave one. And now the Angels will get their first opportunity in this one. No score. Major League Baseball is on the show. Back here at Angel Stadium and on the hill, the big righty Carlos Vargas and Singi. It’s unique these days, but he’s more of a pitch to contact type of guy. Yeah, Boogie. He doesn’t rely too heavily on the strikeout. He knows he needs to miss barrels, get some soft contact, let the defense do work behind him. And I think a guy like that can keep a good tempo. Don’t give hitters time to adjust or think. They can move through a ball game and you look off, they’re in line for a quality start. We’ll see what he’s got in this one. Zack Nitto leading things off and takes a strike. Here comes the one foul ball there. [Music] [Applause] That’s a hit. So, a man on base to start the inning. Back against the wall with two strikes, but found a way. Anytime you rip a line drive the other way, you feel really good about what you did at the plate. You trusted your hands. You let the ball travel and you took the barrel straight to it. That’s great work right there. Nolan Showell the next to hit for the Angels and that one fouled off. backed off the plate that time. Well struck right field. A dive and he can’t haul it in. Lead runner makes the turn at second. Throw comes in. Runner stopped. Second and third. Nobody out. Man, those are the types of hits where you don’t feel any vibration in your hands whatsoever. Such a good feeling. Nice line drive to the pole side. Met it out front, but just stayed through it nice enough and ripped it into the off. And now batting Mike Trout. Golden opportunity right here. That’s off the mark. And that’s ball one. Sing. Maybe some nerves getting the best of him in the first. Well, it’s hard to know exactly if it’s nerves or not, but he just doesn’t have it right now. Those hitters on the other side, they’re going to say it’s nerves and use that as a competitive edge to try to jump on him even more. [Applause] This one in the air center field. Rodriguez settles under it, brings it in. Runner tags from third. Save it though. And the misplay cost them a run on the board first. It’s one zip. So many times that one gets out of here and into the seats, but he’ll take the sack fly RBI. Good job to get that run in from third. So here’s the cleanup hitter, Taylor Ward. And Singy, we already know he’s going to finish the season with a new careerhigh in home runs. [Applause] First offering misses badly for ball one. And a swing and a miss. There’s that slider. No, there’s a certain point where you have to commit to what you think you see. And he guessed wrong right there. Nasty slider with just terrific bite at the end. Swag and a miss. The velocity blasted it right past him. came inside with that two- strike fast ball nicely and just bunched him up on the inside part of the plate. Couldn’t get around on it and catch it out front. Many times if you do, it’s a foul ball. And you know, a lot of pitchers, they really don’t like working inside with two strikes because they do not want to hit that batter. And when they’ve got him up against the ropes, got to figure out a way to put them away. Did a nice job right there. Here’s Joe. First pitch misses. One ball, no strike. [Applause] [Applause] just missed. Two will count to a guy like this at the plate. You’ve got to throw a pitcher’s pitch. Don’t just try to get a strike. He could make you pay. Right through there for a strike. [Applause] fouls one off. Two and two. Man at second. Fights it off. He’ll see another. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. Got him swinging. Inning over and it could have been worse. One run, a pair of hits, no errors, and one left on. Second inning coming up from Anaheim. It’s the Angels one and the Mariners nothing. Back in Anaheim, all set for the start of the inning. The batter now, Jorge Palanco. Anderson measures 6’2 in 35 years old. A former first round pick back in 2011 and takes low from ball one and another ball. Joe McDonald doing the home play duties here. Well, Joe’s an interesting one. I’m always trying to figure out what exactly his zone is. Feels like it kind of moves around from game to game, sometimes inning to inning. And a foul ball makes the count two and one. Yeah, I think that’s fair. I don’t think he’s ever off with his balls and strikes, but yeah, I don’t think it’s easy to define what his zone is. Like you said, that one fouled off. Two and two. [Applause] This one smoked out to left and there’s one down first base. And stepping in for the Mariners, Luke. He’s someone that you might not describe as having elite level speed, but he can absolutely move and it is a factor in his game. Ball one, no strikes. This guy’s definitely a plus runner, but what I love about him is that he goes all out every single time. Never takes a break. It’s guys like that, even though they don’t have the elite speed, the fact that they’re consistent with it, they make moves on the base paths. And that one is downstairs. And that’s ball three. No strikes. And that’s in for a strike. One out. Base is empty. Fouls one away. And now three and two. [Music] [Applause] Liner caught second. From up here, it looked like that liner might be splitting the gap in right center. It’s one of those atom balls you just have to live with as a hitter. Dominic Kzone up next for the Mariners. [Applause] All right, Angel. And first offering is fouled off. Two out. Space is empty. Swings and misses. And that’s strike two. [Music] [Applause] And it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again. [Music] [Applause] Swing and a miss. Struck him out. And a nice inning of work there as he sets him down. One, two, three. Mariners go down quietly there and it remains one- nothing. And we’re back. Now it’s the veteran outfielder Jorge Solair. Jorge Solair. Let’s go. Not even close there. Ball one. Highf fly ball out towards left center. The Rosarena moving under it and he makes the catch and there’s one away. Batting seven catcher now. The catcher up to hit. Logan O’Hap. Chris, he’s definitely going to finish the year with a new careerhigh in homers. We just don’t know how many he’s going to hit quite yet. Sliced hard but foul. Oh, one down. Misses just off the outside edge. I think that was a strike. That’s in there. And it’s one and two. One ball, two strikes. Spoils a two strike pitch. And he’ll see another. One down. Base is empty. And there’s a ball. He’s great hitting the ball the other way. And that pitch did a good job to straighten him up a bit. Mission accomplished. High chopper to third. Williamson whips it across. He’s out. Batting eight, second baseman, Luise Reo. Two down, base is empty. And next for the Angels, Luis Ranifo. That clips the zone. 0 and one. And that one missing inside. A sharp slider on the ground and it goes just foul. It’s a tough pitch, but in terms of the best pitch you’re going to get to hit in the at bat, that fast ball was down enough where no trouble here. puts it away for the out. And that is that. Three up, three down for him. There we play two full. It’s the Angels one and the Mariners nothing. And welcome back to the ballpark. Onto the third inning. Here is the rookie third baseman, Ben Williamson. Anderson back to work. Pitch misses there. Ball one. That one called just inside, I think. And on the mound, he’s trying to get a little bit of an explanation. Doesn’t seem to be too bothered by it, though, but he clearly thought it clipped the corner. Next offering is down low. Two’s to count. [Applause] Turned on, but that’s foul down the third baseline. [Music] [Applause] Tapped softly to the right side. Showel steps on the bag. One up, one down. Batting ninth, second base number two. And now the rookie second baseman, Cole Young. And a foul ball. that one off the mark and it’s one and one and he bunts but that’s a foul ball out to short lays out, but he can’t squeeze it. No throw and he reaches safely. Good job of just putting the ball in play with two strikes. And now let’s see if they force some action with good wheels on the bases. Back to the top of the Seattle order. Here’s the Mariners leadoff man. Runner on the go. Pitch in for a strike. Throw there. Safe. [Music] And there’s a foul ball. Honest. It’s a strike out. Oh, that right there is just a pitcher’s pitch. Tailing away from the hitter. blown away with some good action at the end. You know, even if he gets the bat to that ball, it’s probably just a weak ground ball to the opposite side. Tell you what, that’s a tremendous two-strike pitch. And now it’s Julio Rodriguez. Worked to walk in his first trip to the plate in there for strike one. Runner at second. Two down. We’re here in the top half of inning number three. Next pitch, a slider that misses outside. Nasty back door slider. There’s really nothing you can do with that if you swing at it. So, it’s a good take by him. This one in the air. Ranifo. And that’s the third out. One left for Seattle. They trail here one- nothing. Set for the bottom of the third. The batter now, Kevin Newman. Third baseman, Kevin Newman. This one chopped on the ground but foul. and a foul ball. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Check swing. Now look down to first. No swing. He held up. Carl Dixon with the call there. The one two. Next offering is outside. Still two and two after the foul ball. Let’s go. Swing and a ball lifted in the air. Shallow left field and that’ll fall for a base hit. So now back to the top of the order. Anything but pretty right there, but he’ll take it every time. There are a lot of nicknames people have attached to hits like that. Blooper, flare, duck, snort, lawn dart, etc. But whatever you want to call it, it’s a knock. And those are the ones that’ll make you smile as a hitter just about every time. So in for the Angels, Zack Neto, he led off the bottom of the first with a single and then came in to score. swings here and drives one way left field way back and you can’t forget it. His 16th homer of the year. It’s 3 nothing. He ambushed him right there, Sigy. Yeah, swinging on that first pitch and I think losing one over the fence is exactly what he had in mind as well. [Applause] is a hanger and pitchers typically don’t get away with making a mistake like that. And right there he made him pay. Nolan Showwell the next to hit for the Angels. First pitch and he just misses. You know these Angels doing a good job of simply getting the bat on the ball in this game and the numbers back that up. And here’s a stat for you, Boo. They’re making contact with more than 85% of the pitches that they’re swinging at. It’s pretty special stuff. Not so good if you’re out there on the mound. That’s off the inside corner. Two balls, no strikes. And another ball. With the big bats coming up and a home run already surrendered, he’s really going to have to execute against these next couple of batters. in for a strike and it’s three and one. Nobody on, nobody out. A pair of runs across in the inning here in the last half of the third and it’s fouled away instead of letting the hitter get his arms extended. Tied them up a little bit. Slightly up, slightly in. And they’ll do it again. [Applause] got him looking and that’s the first out. Nice recovery after giving up the homer. I’m not saying it it wasn’t a strike or you know it was a ball whatever but just the location with that velocity it’s hard enough even if the velocity is not great but that velocity that location tip your cap. Now Trout gets a chance to hit. drove in a run with a sack fly his first time up. Swing and a ball drilled in the air towards right center field. Kenzone makes the grab. Two down. Now batting left fieldielder. And now it’s the Angels cleanup batter. Taylor Ward struck out swinging his first time [Applause] just off the inside edge. That two seam fast ball is usually coupled with a slider away. And when a hitter’s conscious of the pitch in, it’s hard for him to cover middle away. And that’s where a pitcher can really finish off that batter. Next offering is in for a strike. Some activity in the Mariners bullpen. Ryan Woo getting ready to go. Number 67 also getting ready. Clips the corner. One and two. That front door slider such a devastating pitch. You don’t want to get beat by the inside fast ball. So you cheat a little bit and then by the time it gets there, it’s out of the swing plane. That one missed. Really good run. Perhaps a little bit too much on that two seamer. Couldn’t hold the corner. Can’t glove it cleanly. Still able to fire over. This play doesn’t cost him. Inning over. Two-run shot for the Angels this inning. It’s now 3 nothing. It’s Major League Baseball and it’s on the show. Back here at Angel Stadium, here’s the power hitting catcher, Cal Raleigh. Swinging a foul out of play. Well, these Mariners, as this game goes on, have to be more disciplined at the plate. So many of their outs have come from weak contact on pitches they’re chasing outside of the strike zone. You can’t do much of anything with those locations. And that’s been true again today. Caught him looking for the K. Well, just couldn’t pull the trigger on the fast ball right there. And I don’t think he was taking it, thinking it might be a cold ball or anything. I just think he was flat out frozen. Did not expect that location in my opinion. Randy Rosarena up next for the Mariners. And that drops in for a strike. Well, the offense has gotten going and a pitcher wants to go out there, have a real quick inning, get those guys back into the dugout so those bats can stay hot. And as a pitcher, when the hitters are swinging at everything, you feel no need to challenge inside the zone. You just keep working the corners and expanding that strike zone and beyond, and they just keep eating right out of your hand. Wow, that’s a tough call for the hitter, but the pitcher will take that all day long. Not quite in the strike zone, but he found a spot that the umpire is going to, at least for now, allow him to get that call. So, hitters are going to have to make an adjustment, but pitchers are going to learn from those things and really try to exploit him if they can. Stepping in, Jorge Palano, and a first pitch fastball is in for a strike. Well, he’s been incredibly efficient in this one. First pitch strike percentage over 70%. That’s well above league average and that’s what’s allowed him to pitch well up until this point. He swings and fouls one off. [Music] Two down, nobody on. Top half of inning number four. falls. One, two, stays alive. And that one upstairs. Hit in the air. center field. Adele moves under it. He makes the grab and that’ll do it. [Music] So they turn things over to the righty Ryan Woo. Still pretty early in the ball game. So, this bullpen has some work ahead of him. Best case scenario might be if he can come in here and get several quick outs, kind of bridge the gap that starter left for him. Joe Adele getting ready to hit. Struck out swinging his first time. Adele swing and a miss. Strike one. No balls, one strike. outside low and that’s ball one. One-1. That one ripped back there and it’s out of here. He’ll circle the bases. That’s his third home run of the series. And they boost their lead. It’s 4 nothing. [Applause] A breaking ball on the inside part of the plate requires a hitter to stay really square with his mechanics. If you fly open with the press shoulder, there’s no way you keep that ball fair. An outstanding job mechanically. He deserves that home run. Jorge Soler up at the plate up the middle and it finds its way through for a hit. Up next for the Angels and next for LA, Logan Ohappy. He has, as they like to say, let me guess, boo. Light tower power. That’s right. Fought off foul. Back up. Back up. [Applause] And there’s a strike on the outside corner. That just misses and count one and two. really good take especially with two strikes. Swings and misses and now one away. Up next for the Luis Renifo gets a chance to hit here. 0 for one so far. [Applause] Oh, and he hit him. That got him. take first. Now batting two on with one out. Kevin Newman the next to hit. Singled and scored his first time. Swing and a ground ball up the middle. The flip to second. Double play. What a quick killing to end the inning. But the Angels add to the lead on this solo blast. It’s now a four nothing ball game. Back after this on the show. We go to the top of the fifth and now the first baseman Luke up the middle and he knocks it down. Not in time. An infield knock to start the inning. Now batting right the batter now Dominic Kzone struck out swinging his first time fast for a strike. Kzone goes 5′ 11 in 27 years old and he was drafted in the eighth round back in 2019. Nobody out. Runner at first. This one popped up. Shanowell and out number one on the grab. Oh, that’s what he’s looking for with the fast ball above the zone. A swing and miss or weak contact. At the plate, Ben Williamson squirts away a little bit. Nice job behind the plate there. Late with the swing there. The base runner at first with one out. Ru takes off. It’s in the dirt. Throw to second. Save Chris. says his wheels were the difference maker on that play. Just got in there. Yeah, with Statcast’s help, we see his top speed on this stolen base. And that’s a big number. I mean, man, he really made his athleticism work for him on that one. Swaying a miss. Two and two now. One out and a runner at second. [Music] out towards right center field and that’ll fall for a base hit. Coming home, he’ll score easily and it’s an RBI single. It’s 4-1. We don’t see this a whole lot anymore where hitters with two strikes are willing to shorten up, tighten up, and try to hit the ball back up the middle other way. He was trying to hit that hole, I believe. Very good at bat with two strikes. So digging in, Cole Young reached on an infield single his first time. Step off throw to first. Williamson back in on a dive [Applause] and a fast ball in there for a strike at 91. [Applause] That’s through there for a strike. [Applause] Headed towards the corner and an automatic double now as it hops the wall in foul ground. And boy, do they catch a break. Otherwise, you’re looking at runners around the bases and probably a run that scores. So, the batting order turns over. JP Crawford gets a chance to hit and that misses and it’s one and0. Traffic on the bases with one already in and we’re in the top of the fifth. [Applause] That one fouled off. [Music] [Applause] Little chopper rolls. Foul. [Applause] clearly trying to stay back a little bit longer for that change up as he fells that fast ball back. Anderson ready to work. Got him. And that’s six Ks for him in this one. Well, I think he was waiting on the change up right there and he got it. It just drifted too far in on him. I think that pitch is just a little more out over the plate. Probably squares it up, but instead he’s going to have to go take a seat. Julio Rodriguez up next for the Mariners. Yeah, don’t need much damage here. Just a base hit. Likely will score two. A change up missing and that is ball one. Second and third. Two down. Swinging a foul back. That’s out of play. Pretty good pitch to take a pass at and a one count. Just not able to square it up. Next offer is in for a strike. Action in the Angels bull nets. The left-hander up and throwing. Burke warming up as well. Swing and a miss and he’s down on strikes. They limit the damage here. So, one run in the inning on this base hit. It’s now 4-1. It’s Major League Baseball on the show. Back in Anaheim, John Shabi with my buddy Chris Singleton and set to get us started. Bottom five, Zack Neto. Zack Neto. And the first pitch misses for ball one. You know, these Angels really impressing me with the quality of their bats in this one. It’s been fun getting a chance to see him go to work. It looked to me like they really wanted to get to the starter early, get him out of the game before he settles in. So, I’d say mission accomplished. Here’s a one-1. Swaging a popup foul out of play off to the right side. That’ll find the stands outside. Two and two. Cuts and misses. It’s a strikeout. Well, that’s the money maker right there. Two strikes. slider down and away from a same side thrower as the hitter. It’s just tough if you’re looking to protect with two strikes and very difficult to lay off. Shell in the box now as he leaves that one up high. Base is empty, one away. Last half of inning number five. And that one clips the corner. just missed. Two balls, one strike. Oh, he doesn’t get the call. And now three balls and a strike. Good spot there, but didn’t get the strike at the knees. and doesn’t seem too convinced by the call out there on the mound as he tries to get a better sense of the umpire strike zone. Come on, Ang. And that’s too high and it’s ball four. Well, that’s a really good take right there. And that’s just mentally prepared knowing that if it’s not on the team, you’re going to take that pitch because you still have one more strike to work with. Not easy to lay off, but he did an excellent job in that plate appearance. Tra stands in here. Tried to hold back his swing there, but went around. Shadow at first. One gone. Good approach right there. You want to get something just a little higher that you can elevate. Stay out of that double play. swing and a miss. Had him out front for the strike out. Way out in front of that inside pitch there. And just exactly the opposite kind of approach that you want with two strikes. You want to let the ball travel. Make sure you recognize it. Try to shorten up so that you can at least put the ball in play. Clearly fooled, but I think even more so. You question the two strike approach. Ward up for the third time here. Watches that one miss. And that misses two and 0. And that one fouled off. Come on, Angel. Swing and a miss. And he was fooled. Two balls, two strikes. Two outs. Chopped left side. Throws across the diamond. That’s out number three. Angels leave one, but they lead it four to one. All set for the top of the six. And now the big time power threat, Cal Raleigh. Anderson back to work. Nasty pitch right there. That’s strike one. [Applause] Line drive. Come on, man. He really turned on that one. absolutely ripped it for third like reflexes down there at the hot corner to bring it down. And here is Randy Roserena for two in this one. And that is downstairs. And that’s ball one. [Music] [Applause] Foul ball. The lefty ready and a 1-1. Swinging a foul straight back. Come on, Angels. Let’s go. Swaging a ball hit out towards left center field and it falls. So they get a man aboard with a one out single. Still able to come through behind in the count right there. These days most outfielders play pretty deep. And I’m not sure if that was a factor there or not, but off the bat you’re thinking it’s going to be a pop out. And it just kind of nestled into that spot where no one was able to get to it. Palano the next to hit takes 41. No strike. Now these guys definitely looking for a big swing of the bat right here. Try to close that gap. But you know, at the very least, if you could find a way to manufacture that run from first, it feels like it’s really important to getting back into this ball game. Pitch misses. Now 2 and 0. Definitely a frustrating day for the offense, but when they look at it, this guy’s had his best stuff. Been painting the corners, working on the edges, and changing speeds. Just a difficult one. on you. Swings through that one for strike one. The Angels leading by three and we’re the top half of the six. [Applause] That one outside and now three and two. Recognized that change up right out of the hand. Just spit on it. Fouled off again and it remains three and two [Applause] and ball four two aboard. Pitch count’s getting up there now and not saying that’s the reason for this walk, but this is the point in the game when every sign of wavering starts to get everyone’s attention. Here comes the manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move for the bullpen. Tyler Anderson won’t go any further tonight. It’s a three-run game and we’ll be back to tell you about the new arm in a minute. Now pitching ready reliever out of the pen, Jose Soraniano. And one thing on him, he’s been really good this season at keeping the ball in the park. Not an easy guy to take deep. Two on, one out. And up next for Seattle, Lukeley, one for two. He’s been such a good hitter with runners in scoring position. Some guys just take it to another level for him right now at the plate. It’s like everyone else is in slow motion and he’s in full speed. That’s inside. Ball one. One out. Runners at first and second. And that’s downstairs. And the count is 2 and 0. Could be some action here on this next pitch. Couple runners on. Probably a challenge pitch coming. [Applause] Two and0 to Cal. Here it comes. Breaking ball through there for a strike. outside. Runners at first and second with one gone. [Music] In the air out towards right center. Adele sizing this one up. Makes the grab for the second out. Now batting right fielder Dominic Kzone. And now for Seattle Dominic zone. Come on. 10 in the dirt. Blocked. A Rosena the lead runner at second. Palanco at first. Two out of the inning. A rope into right and that’s a base hit. A Rosarena flies around third. He’ll score. It’s 42. Well, that gets him a little closer in this one. That’s a good sound coming off the bat, man. And as he connected out front and ripped it into the outfield, that’s one of those swings where you just don’t even feel the ball hit the barrel. That’s a pure stroke. So, two outs with runners on the corners. Digging in Ben Williamson. RBI knock for him last time. Now, a chance to drive in another run. And the first offering is not close. Swinging a ground ball and that chance handled gets it to first. That ends the inning and stops things from getting out of hand. But they pick up one run on the RBI single. It’s now 42. You’re watching Major League Baseball exclusively on the show. And we’re back. Bottom of the sixth inning. Stepping in the long ball threat. Joe Adele Adele. That is upstairs for ball one. Outside corner. There’s the strike. Yeah, that’s fouled off. Swing and a miss. struck him out. He’s notched four strikeouts now. So up next, Jorge Solair, right fielder Jorge. Pitch misses. Ball one. Is there a little wrinkle to that? I think there was. Yeah. Little slider action. Foul ball. Still a one and two count. One down. Base is empty. Strike three and that’s two in a row. Definitely made him chase a little bit out of his own right there. I don’t think that’s a strike if he takes it. Pretty textbook pitching. Get ahead in the count. Get the guy in the box on his heels and then force him to chase your pitch where he doesn’t have much of a chance to do any damage. Oh, in the box here. Lets that one go for a ball. Right through there for a strike. Two down, nobody on here in the bottom of the sixth in the dirt. Two balls, two strikes on the ground. And that’s just foul. [Music] Two down. Nobody on spoils that one and it remains two and two. Fouled off and they’ll do it again. Good battle here. About to be the eighth pitch of the at bat. battling here as he fouls it away. Good eye in that spot. Wow, this guy’s really battling up there as if his run is the game-winning run. I love his tenacity. And a foul ball. He stays alive. Five foul balls in this at bat so far and these two are going headto head. You can see the crowd. They’re starting to get into it a little bit more and more each pitch even though there hasn’t been a ball in play yet. Got him swinging and he strikes out the side here in the six. Angels go down one, two, three as they can’t add to their 4-2 lead. And welcome back to the ballpark. Top of inning number seven. Now it’s the second baseman, Cole Young. just missed. That one finds the corner and the count one and one. Now a screamer into the outfield. Adele hauls it in and there’s one away. Now batting short stop JP. Here’s the shortstop at the plate. JP Crawford 0 for three with two strikeouts and a ground out. First pitch and that’s in for a strike. And the swing miss, man. 90 on the slider right there. That’s a hard one. That’s a low end fast ball for some pitchers. The shorts stop takes a ball. One ball, two strikes. Chopper to second. Gets it to first. They get him, but it was pretty close. That play won’t be trending on social media later on, but it’s still important to execute it to perfection. This game is a lot harder than it looks, partner. So, two down now. And here is Julio Rodriguez. [Applause] And first offering is fouled off. Two outs. No one. That one the other way. Balls it in to in the inning. Mariners are down in order. They trail it here four to2. [Music] Now pitching number 23 gets the ball now. Just trying to keep this one close here. And this is where a bullpen can give their players a chance to fight back into the game. And now it’s the switch in second baseman Luis Ranifo. He’s 0 for one. First pitch just misses. Just missed. Well, usually a high level of confidence when you’re facing a young pitcher out there on the mound. In this situation, ahead 200, he’s put himself in a really good spot. Sharp grounder that’s through for a base hit and the leadoff man aboard. Now batting third baseman Kevin Kevin Newman the next to hit for the Angels. Here comes the pitch. There goes the runner from first. Swing and a miss. Safe and Zack with a stolen base. Next offering is in for a strike. He’s clearly out there throwing pitchers pitches in this situation. First base is open. He walks him. No big deal. Rehifo at second with nobody out. Let’s go. Here’s the O2. That’s foul off to the right side. Keeps the AB going. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] The O2 on the ground to third. Williamson and one away in the bottom of the seventh. Deceptive slider right there. Stayed in the tunnel a long time. Got that hitter out front, rolled over, put it on the ground. Zack Neto. And now the short stop. Zack Neto. His two-run homer back in the third. Was an important swing of the bat in this one. Yeah, there’s no doubt he helped set the tone fairly early and certainly part of the reason why they’ve got the lead right now. Close [Music] but called a ball and it’s one and0. That’s a strike. Next pitch is outside. Ground ball to the right side. Takes it to the bag. Steps on first and it’s out number two. Now batting first base Nolan Shadowwell the next to hit for the Angels. And that’s off the inside edge. And that’s ball one. Two outs and a runner at third here in the bottom of the seven. That’s too low. And that’s ball two. Q ball. No strike. to the right side. Young sends it to first. That’s the inning. Angels strand one, but they still lead this one four-2. Welcome back. And a new arm on the mound to start the eighth. Reed for the Angels. This softball has been really good against left-handed hitters. Reed. [Applause] And now here is Cal Raleigh. He’s one of the best players in the game. That one down the line. and foul ball. Ground ball left side throw not in time. It’s an unlikely infield single. It doesn’t really matter where you are in the lineup. Your job is to get on base and try to start a rally if you’re leading off an inning. So an infield single does the job right there. Now we’ll see if they can make something happen. So now it’s the fourhole hitter Randy Roserena. One for three. Delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95. No ball, one strike with a tying run at the plate. And we’re in the top of the eighth. That one is absolutely belted. Out of here. That should get the dugout going. His second home run of the series. And we have a tie ball game. It’s 44. Big- time players don’t shy away from these spots. He knew he could change the game and that’s exactly what he just did. [Applause] Looks like this guy was looking out over the plate, but he was ready to turn on the inside. Fast ball. So direct to the pitch. Absolutely blasted out of this ballpark. So it’s all tied up thanks to the home run. Jorge Palano now at the plate and that’s in for a strike. 01 and a pop off right side. territory. One away. Good hard fast ball up in the zone right there. They look really good coming in, but so hard to get on top of as a hitter. And here’s the first baseman, Luke. [Applause] and delivers outside. Line drive. That’s a base hit. So, the go-ahead run is on base with a knock. Always feels amazing getting a job done when the team needs you to come through. It’s just bigger than your own individual stats. So impressive that he didn’t get tied up or jammed on that pitch inside. Instead, good quick hands allowed him to get the barrel to it. Just shoot it up the middle of the field for that knock. And now a chance to maybe get creative on offense with good speed on first. Here comes a skipper out of the dugout and he’s ready to make the move. Reed Deetmers is done and it’s a tie ball game as he heads for the dugout. Back with a new arm after a quick break. Brock Burke on a pitch here. Well, he struggled quite a bit. So, this is another opportunity to get on the right track. He’s given up more than one hit per any pitch so far this season. Go ahead run on base. And stepping in for the Mariners, Dominic Canzone. [Applause] and fouled off. One away, tie game. Go ahead run stands at first. Now snap throw to first. Dives back in safely. [Applause] Big swing and a miss with two strikes. May see some movement over there at first base. Trying to stay out of the double play right here and one and two. Way to lay off that pitch down. One away. Tie game. Go ahead run stands at first. [Applause] gets a piece and stays alive. [Applause] Runner on the goal. Knocks that one away. And we’ll do it again. Breaking ball in there. Got him looking. Now two away. Well, big strike out right there. And maybe a little controversial with the call. I think he got a little bit of favor on the mound. No question about it. It’s not exactly what you want to see in a big spot like that. And I’m sure there’s some chirping going on from the dugout making it clear that wasn’t his best call behind the plate today. Now Ben Williamson swing and a miss. It’s on one strike. [Music] [Applause] Tied at four. And that one fouled off. [Music] Run around to go. Highf fly ball right field. Solair gets under it. Drops into the glove and that’s the third out. Two come in on this Seattle homer. It’s now tied 4-4. Back here at Angel Stadium out of the bottom of the eighth. Here’s Mike Trout. He is quite an athlete. I mean, you look around the other sports, basketball, football, you feel like he could thrive in one of those sports, too. In there for a strike at the top of the zone. Late in the game, everyone gets a little tighter. Way to get ahead on a really good hitter right there. This one popped up. Foul ground first base side. And there’s one down. Now batting left fielder Taylor Ward. And the batter now Taylor Ward. Just missed. Well, a mistake right here could untie this ball game. If you’re the pitcher out there, you just want to be a little more cautious. [Applause] [Music] center field. Rodriguez under this one. Brings it in. And there’s two down. Up next for the Angels. Center fielder Joe Adele. The next to hit for the Angels. He’s already homered in this game. [Applause] First pitch doesn’t find the zone. Two down, nobody on here. The bottom half of the eighth inning. That one finds the zone. And the count one and one. That one found hard the other way. two down on bows it off. Still one and two. Fights it off. You’ll see another. Two outs. keeps the attack going with a foul ball [Applause] and that one hammered. Rodriguez drop step going back onto the track and he makes the catch. It’s the ninth and we are tied. Back in Anaheim, we go to the ninth. And now Cole Young. [Music] Burke back to work and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter. And I know you want to be patient as a hitter, but you got to be ready to jump on the first thing straight. And he got one right there, but got the bat on his shoulder. Popped up to the left into foul ground. He’s under it. One up, one down. Now that short stop, JP Crawford. JP Crawford will hit next. [Applause] swings through that one out in front that time. Going to really need to hang in there with that front side against this left-handed breaking ball. Highfly ball and that one curling foul down the right side. [Applause] The O2 gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. All tied up. You’re in the top of the ninth. The shorts stop. Takes the ball. This guy’s a fun guy to watch taking at bat. He just battles up there. He doesn’t take a pitch off at all. Makes it so difficult on the pitchers out there. You can tell they get frustrated with how long it takes to put him away. Way high looking. He’s got to be frustrated with that call. Well, he’s going to have some thinking to do when he leaves the ballpark after this one. That was his third strike out and this one looking obviously. So, he’s been a little overmatched. He’s got to find a way just to be more competitive up there at the plate. And up next for Seattle, Julio Rodriguez. That’s a strike across the top of the zone. [Music] [Applause] Lifted in the air right center field. Adele going after it. Brings it in for the third out. So they go quietly there. 678 scheduled to start the bottom of the ninth and we are tied 4-4. And we’re back. We head to the bottom of the ninth. So in now for the Angels Jorge Solair. first pitch and he just misses. Meanwhile, activity in the bullpen. Trent Thornton up and loosening in the pen. Munoz, a hard throwing right-hander up as well. [Applause] Close but called the ball. And now two and 0. Homeplayed umpires trying to tighten things up a little bit. swings through that one. Two balls, one strike. [Music] [Applause] Pretty easy to give up on that pitch right there. Started on the edge of the plate with the spin. You know it’s going to finish well off the plate. [Applause] [Applause] on the ground to the left and it’s just fouled. That was close. 44 in the ninth in there. Sets him down on strikes. That was pretty nasty. Now batting Logan Ohappy the next to hit for the Angels. 0 for three in this one. Well, one swing’s a lot easier than getting two or three hits to win this ball game. You better believe he’s going to be all in to hit the ball over the fence somewhere in the air right field. Kenzone going back on this one. Two down. Now batting second base. Here’s the second baseman, Luis Ringo. First pitch misses. 10. [Applause] Just missed. misses inside and that’s ball three. Kevin Newman in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here. That one finds the zone and the count is three and one. That’s ball four. Tried another sinker but couldn’t find a zone. Now batting third. Angels making a move for a pinch hitter. Yawan Monata. The winning run on base for him. [Applause] That one in the dirt and that is ball one. [Applause] Trying to send this to extra innings. That misses. Two balls, no strikes. downstairs to Marcata. Well, I would expect in this three-0 count, you’re taking all the way. See if they’ll walk you. Zack Netto would be next if they can extend the inning. And he’s homered already, so I’m sure he’d love a chance to do some more damage here. And there’s the automatic. fouls one away and now three and two. Great RBI spot here. Just got to stay focused on the pitch. The runner will be in motion, so something in the gap should definitely score it. 32 on the way. Oh, this one’s blasted high and deep. It’s on its way. Out of here. Okay, that one’s got to feel good. And they walk it off. Hitting a walk-off homer is the kind of thing you dream about growing up. You’re in the backyard. You’re creating the most pressure packed scenario and what do you do? You come through with the big swing. Well, he was living a childhood moment right there. Nice swing in the bat. Nice win for the team. And this one ends with a final score of six to four. For Chris Singleton and our entire outstanding crew here at MLB the show, I’m John Shami saying so long. Heat. Heat.
