Top MLB Plays of 7/24! (Lawrence Butler makes outstanding catch!)

3-2 hammered down the right field line. That’s trouble if it gets down fair and it does. Cortez plays it quickly. The throw into second is a good one. Schuman’s tag is there. What a hose job from Cortez. Unleash it. A laser to Schuman. An outfield assist for Cortez. Robs Trel of an extra base hit. Carlos Cortez making an impact immediately. Weak ground ball on the right side. Mayo started to go grab it out of the glove and shoveled by Holiday to get the out. Good retreat by Mayo. Good challenge by Holiday to shovel it off to get the out. When you don’t have somebody who’s played a ton of first base and that’s the situation here with Mayo learning that position over there. I think Charlie just thought that ball was hit to the second baseman Jackson. So then when he started to go over there, he was not going to get there. So, it was good recovery by Mayo to understand that Jackson was going to be able to make that play and that he had to actually get back to cover first base. A little dribbler hugging the line. Backhanded pick by Aras onto first in time to finish the ball game. What a great play by the Gold Glover Raone Aras. A backhand right on top of the chalk. Offbalance throw to first. O’Harn stepping into foul territory. holds the bag to retire. Quan stood slams the door and the Orioles pick up a 4-3 win. That’s as good a play as you’re going to see and he has to throw that ball from foul territory across his body with a fast runner like Quan and on the back end because O’Harn had come in the game for Mayo. You got an experienced first baseman over there. Here’s John Singleton off the end of the bat. Little squiver. Severino bare hand. Strong throw to first. It’s dug out by Curts with the backhand. And Severino fields his position, retiring Singleton in a very close bang bang play. Well, his initial movement off the mound lets you know that he is very aware that Gioella is camped over at shortstop with his heels on the grass. If anybody’s going to make a play, it’s going to be Severino. And that’s it. And he goes to the bare hand, which was his only option. Picks it up and gets it over to Nick Curts. Little looper behind the infield. Can anybody get there? Yeah, Mauricio Duban can. What a play by Mauricio. Didn’t look like he was going to be able to have enough time to get back there, but Mauricio stayed with it for a nice over-the-shoulder catch. Got a long way to go. He was really on an island by himself. Too far for Zack Short to get over there, but Mauricio stays with it and is able to make that play. That would have been frustrating for Alexander if this one would have ended up dropping. Matthews fly ball to center. In comes Butler. Leaves his feet. He slides and he caught the baseball. Severino’s happy about that. And Lawrence Butler makes his third great play in center field on this road trip. It’s one step to the left and then a hard crash towards the ball and he’s able to gobble it up. Come up with it cleanly.
