What does this mean for the Athletics? Do they have enough “homegrown” fans to fill the seats made vacant by the lack of tourists

  1. Of course they don’t, they aren’t even filling Sutter Health Park on discount night 😂

  2. Only when the Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers are in town….and as always, FJF

  3. If they’re really relying on visiting fan tourism to make up a large portion of their fan attendance. It’s going to be hilarious how that pans out.

Like do they really think they’re going to get thousands of families from Pittsburgh, Kansas City, or Cincinnati to regularly fly the whole family out to Vegas every season, or every other season for the national league teams, get a hotel on the strip, or even Fremont, and get tickets to a game or two, plus whatever they’ll spend in Vegas those days? Like they’ll get a bunch of Dodger and Yankee fans when those teams are in town. But all those other teams I just don’t see it.

And I don’t see them being a hit with the local fans lately in part because John Fisher is an idiot and doesn’t have the wherewithal to win over a market even if he gets gifted a favorable situation.

  4. They will have Marlins like attendance and a Marlins like valuation. FJF will have essentiallty lit about a billion dollars on fire out of pride and stubbornness.

  5. Homegrown fans? Doubtful. Nevada hates Cali and doesn’t want our “crappy teams over there” or Californians for that matter. There are a lot of Californians that have moved there though. Other people will go to the games in Vegas, but probably only when their home team is in town.

  6. I wonder how much gambling fatigue is hurting Vegas.

I never cared for gambling, but didn’t think about it. With the onslaught of sports gambling ads I’ve become aggressively anti gambling. The worst “hobby” a person can have this side of collecting Pops.

  7. Averaging 11k because the Coli was 3/4 full of Boston SFG and yankee fans every year. Damn they pissed me off. Where were my fellow A’s fans whe we had playoff level teams for so many years?

  8. The stadium is going to be more full of other teams fans than Athletics fans. I’m happy we’re getting a baseball team, but we should have got an expansion team. That’s why the Golden Knights are such a success, and why the Raiders flopped.
