U Darvish is expected to be on the hill here for the Padres’s in this one. Darvish has been out this pretty much this entire season until a couple weeks ago. Uh due to injury, he’s making his fourth start of the season. He’s not looked good at all so far. I think he needs a couple more starts to get into form, but right now this is not the Darbish that we’ve seen throughout his career. when he is on his game, he’s an above average pitcher, but right now he’s below average pitcher. San Diego comes into this game with a losing road record on the year despite having an overall winning record. They’re one of the worst road teams above 500 overall in the season. Uh they are 12 and 20 this year when they go up against teams with 50 plus wins overall and they’re on the road. So 12 and 20, I’m sorry, 12- 23 in this scenario going up against home teams with 50 plus wins this year, which that is who they will take on here as the St. Louis Cardinals come into this game. Cardinals have been very good at home this year actually. In fact, they’ve won over six units this year at home when they play against 50 win teams overall as well, which is the Padres’s. So we’re getting a very good Cardinal team in this situation. They’ve really played above their heads. And what’s make what makes the Cardinals even more enticing in this uh matchup here is Sunny Gray is expected to be on the hill here in this one for the Cardinals. And he has been awesome at home the last couple years. 2.84 RA this year at home compared to the 5.84 on the road. We’ve seen the exact same thing out of Gray last year. 2.79 home erra, 5.20 on the road. So add it all up in this one for Thursday, July 24th.
