Atlanta Falcons sign SPEEDY PRO BOWL receiver DJ Chark

Atlanta Falcon fans, there are still needs for this team, and Atlanta’s going to keep addressing those needs. Wide receiver is a position that we don’t talk about, but we have talked about it on the show. Y’all go check out uh our training camp battlesh for wide receivers right now up on Smith Sports Machine or you can check it out on A1 Forever. But the Atlanta Falcons add one more receiver to the mix, Mr. DJ Chart, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, and currently Atlanta Falcons, but ended last year, I think, with the Chargers. I think he had a hip injury if I’m not mistaken. Uh, yeah, hip injury, seven games. Former Carolina as well, 2023. Uh, you only he played in 15 games with Carolina, 35 catches, 525, 15 yards a catch, five touchdowns. Uh, but he did have a thousand yard season his second year in Jacksonville. um 73 catches, thousand yards, eight touchdown, very solid numbers. Uh he actually was a pro bowler. So I think this could work out for the Falcons if DJ Char uh comes back because like I said, hip injury is not easy to come back from. Um you talk about flexibility in that hip, having to, you know, cut on routes, all that digging in and, you know, let it, you know, let it rip and he’s he’s a speedster. uh 44 speed coming out of LSU and he was supposed to be uh him and Jameson Williams when they drafted him in 2022. Uh they were supposed to be the onetw punch. U both of those guys are fast but it did not work out like that. Uh as he only played in 11 games, only 30 catches, three touchdowns, a little bit over 500 yards. Uh so the F could get a speedster, a guy with hands. And uh if y’all look at the depth chart right now, as I told y’all, that last spot is uncertain. When you talk about the first six that line up uh on the depth chart, two of those guys are special teams guys. And Cadera Hodgej and Jamal Agnu and also Ray Mloud is a special teams guy. So if you add a veteran to this mix, a guy with speed, um I think it makes him a little bit more versatile. Uh Casey Washington, shout out to him, man. uh signed my flag at uh training camp day one and shout out to Big Low for giving me that. Um Chris Blair who’s a veteran but mainly practice squad. He has came in uh spot started a couple of time. Nick Nash who’s everybody is stoked about. Uh think he has a good chance of making this 53 man roster. Uh so Cad I’m sorry DJ Chart what will he cost? Uh, I think he will be uh similar where he was last year, one year, $3 million, but since he’s coming off a hip injury, could be half that. But if y’all know how much he’s going to make this year, drop it in the comment box and let us know. Uh, but this is a long way from being over because you still have Jesse Matthews, Dylan Drummond, David Seals, Quincy Skinner, and Mai Poke. So, um, wide receiver position is far from over, man. I think they’re going to go through, um, the preseason, see what they can do. Uh but DJ Chart um think they signed him to a deal. Now it’s not guaranteed that he’s going to stick to the 53man roster, but I still think another veteran presence as I’ve been saying uh is needed in this wide receiver room with all these young guys need inexperienced guys and guys that to me are more special teams guys in Jamal Agnu, Corder Hodge, and Ray Mloud even though Ray played very very good last year. Uh, but if we know if Kyle P picks it up, if Darnell Mooney picks it up, somebody’s going to lose catching and I think Ray Mloud would be that guy. But y’all tell me what y’all think about DJ Chart signing with the Atlanta Falcons. Drop those comments, man. Let’s debate. Let’s have fun. Y’all know we do it on Sports Machine. I will holl at y’all soon, man.

Atlanta Falcons add speedy receiver DJ Chark, a former Pro Bowler for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Signed a one year deal with the Falcons, adding to their already full WR room.

  1. If dude can stay healthy with a good quarterback he could revive his career this year. He can make circus catches and can also stretch the field. Great size, speed, and hands. Just gotta throw it to him more than once a game…
