My name is Zach Hicks, your resident film nerd over at horseshoehuddle.com. And my partner as always is Jake Arthur, our credentialed sandals on the ground for the site. Again, I’m trying to trying to fix this up to to meet the the weather that’s happening there. You trying to guess my footwear is just a mess. It’s a little bit weird, you know. It’s a little weird, but that’s just who I am as a person at this point. Jake, you guys have to learn to love it here. Uh, but guys, we have our typical training camp coverage show coming your way. We’re talking all about news notes and the quarterback debate, quarterback battle that’s happening in camp. Then we have all offense and all defense. Uh before we get into this quarterback competition though, let’s talk about injuries and news and notes. Uh no new injuries today. Zyra Franklin still the lone injury hold out for C for Colts camp. Uh again, hopefully we can get him back before August, but we’ll see just how long he is on the sideline. And the Colts again remain optimistic about him getting back fairly soon. Couple veteran rest days which I know all of you guys in the comments section absolutely love. Uh so Charvarius Ward, Samson Eval Cox, and Grover Stewart all sat. You guys know my opinion on this. I’m perfectly fine with it. But again, I know I know a lot of you guys don’t love it. Uh, I will say one thing that we can really sparse from this info is these guys who are sitting for veteran rest days probably roster locks on your final 53man rosters. So, I hope you guys have penciled these players in as making the team. Jake, that one’s specifically for you. Uh, letting you know that Moi Cox will be back back on this team this year. Uh, and then one more note you had in here, Jake, was no Jack Wilson today. how Jack Wilson I believe is like the sixth offensive tackle I believe the really massive offensive tackle right right Jake yeah I was getting frustrated this morning because I didn’t know why I wouldn’t be able to see him because he is literally the tallest guy on the team I think they have him listed at 6’11 um I don’t want to speculate but he did get in a couple kuruffles yesterday with Isaiah Land and he was not out there today and then I confirmed all the other guys were veteran rest day so I don’t We’ll we’ll see if Jack Wilson’s out there tomorrow. But yeah, that’s that’s pretty much it for the absences. Yeah. And pretty notable, too, Jack Wilson is uh I I I can’t even ask you like, are you sure you just didn’t miss him because this is like a seven foot man on the tallest dude on the team. Yeah. So, you would probably notice if he was out there or not. Uh so, yeah, we’ll we’ll keep an eye out. Maybe that will be like a release when the Colts make a move in the next couple days or or something like that. We’ll keep an eye out on that. Uh, but let’s get to the quarterbacks, Jake, because through day one and day two, you came on the show post practice and said, “Yeah, both guys were kind of up and down. No real guy has separated. Jones has been a bit more steady, but just kind of meh.” Like on a scale of 1 to 10, he’s been like a five through two days. Richardson a bit more volatile with some highs and lows. Uh, especially yesterday talking about the best throw of camp along with the worst throw of camp. But today, you had it in your postpractice notebook. I saw it from a lot of beat reporters. It seemed like this was Anthony Richardson’s day. Uh I mean the completion percentage numbers in practice were good, but just looking aside that the eye test told you guys Richardson had a pretty good day, right? Yeah, absolutely. And and that’s not to say that he had like a great day, but it was his best day that we’ve seen so far. Like he still had his his plays that he would want back. like uh one one area I’m I’m really starting to think he’s going to struggle at for a bit is like just throwing these simple short out routes. Like when he throws them to his right, they typically go short, but when he throws him to his left, they sail on him. Y So those are things he’s got to work out. Like he can make the throws, but it’s it’s like he’s still figuring out. So he also had one that was almost like an arm punt. I legitimately didn’t know if he was just getting rid of the ball or not, but he was under pressure and just launched it downfield to to Alec Pierce, but it was way uncatchable. Um, but other than that, like what I was most kind of thrilled to see from him is he was taking the checkdowns, he was taking the layups, which is something everyone’s been screaming at him for two years now, is this doesn’t always have to be a chunk pass play every time. Like that’s why you get the horrendous completion percentage. That’s why your average depth of target is like three yards beyond anyone else in the NFL. It cannot sustain rhythm in a passing game. And drives die easily that way. So to see him do this and to rely on guys who it’s it’s one thing if you throw in to Anthony DJ Montgomery a bunch, right? Guys who aren’t really going to contribute throughout a season, but he’s finding Tyler Warren. you know, he’s going to guy like Josh DS, Michael Pitman Jr., he’s going to guys who he would need to connect with in the season. And it wasn’t it wasn’t always pretty, but he was getting it. He was getting it to where his receiver could catch it and advance the ball, keep the drive moving, keep the rhythm going. And again, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a statline of like eight of 11 passing from him. That is night and day from even what the first two days had been. Um, so it’s like, dude, we know you can go downfield. No problem there. He even said that the other day. He really is trying to be intentional about working on the short stuff and that is what they really, really need from him if he is to was to get onto the field in the regular season to win the starting job. I think that is like the biggest thing they need to see from him. other than like obviously keeping up his high level of preparation and leadership and looking the part of a quarterback behind the scenes, they they need to see some just stability drive to drive. Like it cannot be all just gung-ho boomers. Like there has to be some boring stuff mixed into his game other than incomplete deep passes, you know? Yeah. And and I it’s always good to hear about him getting in a rhythm and just, you know, again, stringing together good throws because we’ve seen moments of him doing that in the NFL, but it typically comes at the very end of games when he’s finally out of his own head. He’s finally able just to play football uh like we know he can. It’s just getting in that quick sand early in games. We need him to just find that rhythm he finds late in games rather than that quicksand that he finds early in games and making these mechanical changes more natural for himself. cuz like you mentioned, you know, he’s still struggling with those out routes. Um I I think that is more mechanical, but again, you can live with some mechanical issues as long as the feeling with him is natural because the more that you think about things, the more that you overcorrect and the more that you just have one bad miss turn into six bad misses in a row instead of it being one bad miss and then moving to the next play. You know, have this be a natural thing. You can have regressions in your natural movement every now and then, but when you have a bad moment and you’re overthinking and it’s not natural and it leads to again just six bad mechanical throws in a row, that’s when we have our issue. And that’s what has happened with Richardson these last couple years. So, it’s good to hear that he was able to find a rhythm, get things going, and hopefully that carries over to the padded practices and over to the preseason. Now, getting to Daniel Jones, though, I saw a lot of talk from beat reporters on social media. some beat reporters who were even pretty high on Daniel Jones coming in this year uh that didn’t have a lot of love. Now you have his completions here at seven of 10 today, but it seems like the eye test today with Daniel Jones wasn’t as good as what the completion percentage numbers look like. How would you describe him looking out there maybe compared to like a Gardenner Mchu last year or Matt Ryan in 2022 or Joe Flacco last year? I guess Gardner Mchu two years ago, Joe Flacco last year. How would you describe how he looked out there today maybe to past veteran quarterbacks that we’ve had here in Indie? Yeah, so I don’t want to take away the fact that he was seven of 10. Like that’s 70% completions. That’s great. Like that’s the bar you should keep during training camp. Um, but we knew he could do the dump offs and the short stuff and all that, but I think when you put context to this, you know, the Colts the first couple days had been working on there was a lot of RPO and run stuff and first and second down stuff that really like caters to him and his skill set. Like quick reads, boom, get rid of the ball right now. He had to go through more reads and stuff today. And again, seven to 10, but I did not think it looked great. Um there were four separate instances where there were comeback routes by the receiver from like five to 10 yards out, you know, seven yards or so. Four times he was late getting it there and the defender was there to blow up the play at the catch point. So what we’re seeing right now is he’s staring down receivers. He’s a little late getting to it and he’s not setting his feet when he throws. Uh it is very reminiscent of Gardenner Menchure. you asked if there was any comparison. This is very Gardner Menchuesque. Now, to his credit, you’re getting a little more downfield action from Daniel, too. He’s more willing to push it downfield, which I asked him about the other day, and he never really seemed to think it was an issue in his game. Um, but yeah, it’s it’s giving Gardner Menchu right now. I’m not going to take away the completion percentage from because the goal of passing the ball is to complete it. But there were some for there were some serious concerns I had after today about what year is this for him? Like six or something like things a veteran probably shouldn’t be doing that we saw like very similar things from Gardenner Mchu. Yeah. And real quick because I know we need to move out of this to the rest of the offense. But again, I said it earlier in this segment that Daniel Jones is kind of like on a scale of 1 to 10, you’re going to get like a fiveish every day. You’re going to get like a baseline of what’s acceptable. And for Richardson, it’s like he’ll teeter above it and teeter below it. Yeah. Do you think that’s kind of how these practices are playing out though, where it’s like, okay, Jones is keeps giving you that steady just of what’s good enough? And it really comes down to what Richardson does in terms of can he get above that baseline or is he going to fall below that baseline? Yeah, it whether it’s fair or not, these guys are kind of graded on a different scale because you already kind of know what to expect from Jones. So, if he goes below that, then you get a little more critical because he’s not often going to get above it. Anthony, you’re just hoping he gets off the floor with with that ranking and gets it a little more consistency, you know, and again, he’s a younger player, so like there’s a lot more room to grow in his game. So, when he starts to scratch those things in practice, you’re more willing to be like, “Oh, yeah, he’s, you know, he’s doing well.” So, got Yeah, these guys aren’t necessarily being considered on on the same scale again, like you have to kind of hold them to a different standard. One, where the stages they’re at in their career, and two, like what their play style is like and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Uh, but yeah, it’s you you have to have a lot of context in how you kind of grade these guys each day. Gotcha. Gotcha. Awesome. Awesome. Speaking of context, guys, we’re going to talk about some of the pass catchers and the guys around these quarterbacks today. Uh, which guys stood out? Uh, including a first round rookie that we’re all very excited about, had a great day, according to Jake and many others that were in attendance today. Have you ever decided at the last minute to head to a ball game with friends or family? I mean, it’s Friday. It’s the weekend now. So, it is day three of camp and the offense is still having some early camp problems that I’m sure is causing these coaches to kind of pull their hair out. For the second day in a row, pre- snap penalties, especially like false starts, they’ve been an issue. Yesterday, there was two of them. Today, there was three. I think they were all with Anthony. Um, so that’s kind of a common thing. wonder if like maybe his cadence is confusing or inconsistent or something. Uh that is like a very minute part of the job to fans that you may not think of, but it’s actually very important like when you’re getting out of the huddle and getting to the play. Guys got to know what to expect just literally from their quarterback’s voice. Um so yeah, it it could be that it’s worth asking about. I mean Shane will talk tomorrow. I don’t want to like say that’s definitely it, but when this penalty is following one guy, you kind of have to wonder. Um, so yeah, that’s stuff they got to get cleaned up. Uh, but now to some positive vibes that I think everyone is going to be pretty pleased to hear. First round pick, tight end Tyler Warren is he’s looking the part, guys. Uh, you know, the the first day there wasn’t really much happening with him, but these last two days he’s really turned it on. Uh, he looked really good in the spring. like he stood out like a man amongst boys was making plays every day. Same thing today. Um and he’s helping make these quarterbacks look good too. Like he is making passes completed that often times had no business being completed from both both quarterbacks. Uh so he he’s been really good. He’s been used most commonly so far as kind of an outlet. Uh it’s like a dump off option. We haven’t seen like all this stuff testing the middle of the field that we know Shane really really wanted. that will come, but right now he’s like a safety blanket on the short stuff. Um, but I’m I’m pretty pumped to see how the rest of his game is going to kind of unfurl here soon. Yeah, that was going to actually be my question for you is have we seen him like winning as a route runner or is a lot of this just sitting in space coming back down from the zone defense behind him? Uh, or what are we really seeing on these routes? I know you said the security blanket, but can you go in more detail on that? Yeah. So, it’s been there’s been some design stuff where like you see him rolling out from like the backfield or like you know I’m talking like from the line and coming out and he is like the intended target like the first read for it. We’re not seeing a lot of like him winning the route downfield yet. They’re using him a lot on the shorter stuff as like a quick outlet. Again, today was really the first day where they were working on first, second, and third down. the playbook was a little more open. The first two days was so much skewed to the quick stuff, the RPOS’s, uh, because they they’ve got to work on that, but they’re starting to broaden things out now. I do think when we get to goal line here eventually, maybe tomorrow, we’ll see. Or like red zone in general, that we’re going to see them try and pit him more in the downfield passing game or just not at the line of scrimmage essentially because a lot of this has been within a few yards of line of scrimmage on the outside has been kind of his his hot zone so far. So, uh that stuff will come soon hopefully. You know, they rave about everything they can do with him, so surely they’re not just going to use him as an outlet, but the quarterback seems super comfortable with him so far. That’s good. That’s good. So, like, I honestly have no issues with him being the safety blanket or an underneath guy. I mean, that’s what Josh DS is, and Josh D’s a fantastic player for this Colts team. Uh, I’m just curious if we can see, you know, if we can see him win as a route runner in that area, if we can see him win, uh, with his athleticism, because in college, a lot of it was schemed up for him and he was great with that. And I think he can be great with that with the Colts, but I do want to see if he’s got a little bit more in his game. It’s still early in training camp, so we’ll get a lot more. But great to hear him getting involved in the Colts having a plan for him super early. Talking about some other younger weapons on this Colts offense, though. Maybe two guys who won’t have the biggest role. But again, they’re showing out in camp just like they did last summer. Ad Mitchell, Anthony Gould. Two rookies from that 2024 class. I saw a lot of people raving about Anthony Gould today. It seems like he’s been uh the star of training camp. I think it was obviously it was in your post practice notes and I think Kevin Bowen as well also said like he looks like he’s stepping up as like a slot receiver for this team. I mean the more the marrier when it comes to receiver depth, but what are we seeing from these two young players, Jake? Yes, they’re they’re kind of on opposite ends of the spectrum right now. Like AD has not yet turned it on. Okay. Uh there’s just been like some sloppy stuff like he’s there’s been a lot of 5050 balls he’s not winning like he’s dropped one or two and I don’t want to pit all this on him because like a lot of it has just been poor quarterback play like when he’s being targeted like just throws that aren’t being put in an ideal spot for him to come down with it. But it’s a lot of stuff we saw during the season like he’s not making making things go his way. You know what I mean? Uh, he’s also been like slipping a lot. Um, which something something with the footwear. I don’t know. Let’s figure it out. It’s the humidity, man. The humidity is getting the ground wet and everyone’s real. It’s awful. Yeah. So, I do expect AD to turn on at some point. Like, when they put the pads on, they start going one-on- ones. Like, he is one of the obvious winners of those drills. Yeah. Uh, so that will help. But, I mean, you obviously want to see it in a team setting with seven on sevens and 11 ons. Uh, so he’s not really turned on yet. But Anthony Gould, back to that point, you know, last summer we saw a lot of him just making plays downfield. Like Joe Flacco loved targeting him downfield and that’s kind of where his bread was buttered. But like KB mentioned, and I think I mentioned it in my notes as well, he is being used this summer in a more traditional slot receiver sense. If it’s not a tight end like Anthony or Daniel Jones are finding him as an outlet or like a quick option out of the slot, he’s getting a lot of short stuff. Like he had that 30 yard catch from Jones on day one, but other than that, like the vast majority of what he has done has been just real quick cleanup stuff, moving the chains, like stuff we see Josh DS do during the regular season. So, uh, good to see them get a I mean some they’re building a backup slot option. I mean I mean I know like if they went to week one again with Josh DS hurt again it’d probably be 80 Mitchell that played but Anthony Gould is like a true slot type of player. Uh so if they needed to use him they could in that role. Plus again he can stretch the field vertically. So uh I really like what I’ve seen from Anthony Gould. I’ve been mentioning it the last couple shows. Like I understand there’s a lot of mouths to feed, but if you can get him involved some way, like I I think it’s going to be beneficial for them. Yeah. I mean, look, we’re going to have an offense with scheme touches for Warren, scheme touches for Mitchell, scheme touches for Downs. What’s one more guy to scheme up some touches for and get some some You can give him an ender round jet sweep, stuff like that. You could do that. Yeah. I mean, you have to get him out there for a couple other snaps so they won’t anticipate it. But yeah, I completely agree. Uh, really quick though before we get out of this. Everyone’s darling, Riley Leonard, you have another note in here. You told us all about his perfect throw downfield that got tipped up to a Laquan Treadwell catch yesterday. Did he have another tipped catch out there today, Jake? It was not tipped, but uh, he was go I think he was rolling out a little bit. Uh, he was targeting Albert Okabunum about 10 yards down the right side, but threw it behind him. This is actually an Okabunam highlight. an elbow. So, he reached behind him because that’s where the ball was and snagged it with one hand. So, you’re gonna Riley Leonard’s gonna have like the best completion percentage and you’re gonna push that out there and it’s all going to be dudes making these crazy. I’ll be obnoxious about it. People want Riley Leonard highlights. I’ll tell you what happened. He has been a part of a couple improbable big plays a couple days in a row. He’s been a part of them. He’s been getting them in the vicinity for guys to make big time plays. I mean, look, as a quarterback, your distributor, even if the pass is behind or or low or whatever, as long as it gets where it needs to go, I guess. But there’s your Riley Leonard update of the day. Coming up, guys, we’re going to transition to the defense where, yes, these quarterbacks had pretty good days in terms of completing the ball, but again, the secondary is just all over the place, so we got to talk about it. And let’s make this fantasy season the best one yet. All right, welcome back every day. Welcome back Zack. We’re going to talk about defense now. And one thing I feel fairly confident in saying is that the defense is probably going to be the more consistent strong suit of the team this year. Uh I think they got some really good players. And again, I mentioned this yesterday. It’s I’m not just saying that it’s a good group because they’re doing well in camp right now. It’s it’s just vindication of like players we already know are good are performing well in in camp. like why would you not think that this is going to go well? Um so I thought this was the first day that Lou kind of showed show showed his cards a little bit more like we’ve heard all off seasonason about how versatile his scheme is all the multiplicity and all that stuff and now that the focus became all three downs and like the playbook got opened up a little bit I thought he threw a little bit more at the offense. Uh, we saw more three safety looks, you know, Rodney Thomas getting out there at the same time as Cam Binham and Nick Cross. Nick Cross creeping up into the box. Uh, saw some some DB blitzes at one point. Uh, just so happens you asked me yesterday if the defensive lineman had been moving around at all. I hadn’t really noticed it, but today JT2 Malo and Taekwon Lewis both were used inside and out. they did a lot of mixing personnel in certain uh certain packages and so maybe that will be a decent part of of the defensive scheme. I know you said he traditionally doesn’t do that a whole lot but now we have seen that he is willing to do it. So starting to see uh Lou get a little more in his bag and show his cards a little bit. Awesome. That’s always great to hear. love uh Lannar Rumo uh just what he does with this defense is just just so fun to watch and it’s going to be really cool to watch with this team as they get into the November December months as this defense figures out kind of the communication and everything on the back end just how good this past defense can be. I think you can be rock solid with the players they have as long as everyone stays healthy. U we have a good question here from Rich. We don’t go to the comments too much but I think this is a good one. Rodney Thomas, I’ve heard some good things about him uh since mini camp, honestly, from from a lot of you guys. And again, you’re saying he’s rotating out there with the starters. Has Rodney Thomas kind of shown a little bit bounce back this this off season? I think so. I mean, the the offense isn’t testing it deep, and I think that’s where you you see a lot of his warts come up downfield, so we’ll see how that goes. But, I mean, he made a nice pass break up. I think it was yesterday or today. Um, so like I’ve noticed I’ve noticed really only positive things from him so far. He’s not like super stepping up, but I he’s not been a problem by any means so far. So, I mean, if if he can prove that he is, you know, a player that has utility in this scheme, then I think that’s fine because I think a lot of us were discounting him, me included, and saying, “Okay, who’s the third safety?” Because obviously Rodney Thomas has kind of run out of time. But, I mean, he’s he’s doing well. so far. Maybe he does fit loose scheme. Awesome. That’s great to hear with Rodney Thomas there. Getting to the rest of the defensive backs. So, Charvarious Ward got the veteran rest day. Kenny Moore was back out there. But who were the two starters on the outside alongside Kenny Moore? Uh was it Justin Wallally? Was it Brent? Was it Jones? You have so many defensive backs in the notes here, Jake. I might just let you just just talk about all of them here. Uh but I did want to ask you about what that starting rotation looked like with Charvarius Ward out. Yeah. So, two important questions that we kind of were leading or, you know, ending off with yesterday. Jaylen Jones did finally get into the starting lineup with Ward out. Uh, and then for the third straight day, Justin Wallally was out there with the wands. So, today it was uh Jones, Wall-E, and Kenny Moore. So, I think it’s a threeman race at that outside corner spot there at cornerback, too. I think that’s the way they’re playing it. uh with Wall-E potentially having the inside track, but I think it it seems like now that we have three practices in the books, it’s like a true three-horse race for that outside corner two spot. Yeah, I don’t him being out there with the ones every day, I don’t think is necessarily an indicator that he’s definitely going to start, but I think they want to see as much of him as possible so they can at least make a very educated determination on whether he should start or not. So, yeah, they’re going to Jesus, that’s a big bug. Uh, they’re going to know for sure uh whether they think he should be in the starting lineup or not. If I abruptly get up somewhere, I don’t It went so fast. It was so big. I don’t even know what kind of bug it was on my wall. So, oh gosh. Um, yeah, not just nightmare stuff here. Um, but the DBs did perform well. You know, Jaylen Jones could have used a a big day um kind of getting those starting reps for the first time. Had a couple pass breakups. Um, I had mentioned the four times that Jones was late staring down guys in those comebacks and it just didn’t work. Uh, Jones was able to break up a couple of those. I think it was against Pitman and then one was maybe Dulan. Uh, Wack got him as well and so did uh, Cameron Binham. So, that’s where those four came from. Uh, rookie Hunter Waller I think had a big day. Uh Anthony threw a pass about five pass out to uh Will Mallerie and Wer immediately blew him up. M to Maller’s credit he held on to it, but it was a huge hit and I was a little surprised that the offense didn’t take offense to it, but it was it was the backup. So maybe if it was the starters, they would have had a little more attitude to it. But um and then he came back and broke up another pass later in practice again against Will Mallerie. kind of actually finishing it and and getting the PBU on that one. So, uh, a lot of a lot of big plays from the defensive backs today for sure. Awesome. Awesome. And then getting to the front seven here. You have a couple sacks in the notes, but I do have the one starter question of who was the other linebacker alongside Jaylen Carile today. It was a Mcgrron day. Okay. So, rotation there. It was mostly Mcgrron and Botchi. So I it’s pretty much them like Alvie did at the end of practice get in with the ones into that spot, but we’ve seen so much of Botchi and Mcgrron in that spot since the spring that it’s hard to think that’s not really the plan behind Franklin. Like Franklin is the plan, but behind him, you’re kind of looking to see who is that other Mike going to be if he has to ever miss any time. So I I think they like those guys a lot. Uh the defensive line continued to get after it. I know I reported a few sack or like wouldbe sacks yesterday. Uh Lu had a beautiful rep against Burnhard Ryman. Uh I thought of you immediately because he used the cross chop and he dipped so well and got so much separation on that. Uh got to Daniel Jones. Deorest Buckner came in for one. Uh Gallamore has been I mean he’s going to be the backup free tech, but he you’ve seen him with the ones, the twos, the threes. Uh he got to Riley Leonard today for a sack with the the third team. So uh those guys were out there getting productive. I like that two of those three sacks were from interior defensive linemen, though. That’s a good sign. That is a very good sign. And and Jake, we are over the 31 minute mark, so I think we’ve run out of time to talk about special teams. No, no, no. because we’re all out of time. All out. Well, I have a very important musing that you might actually like outside of the kicking game. But first, I’ll I’ll mention it. Uh the kicking game really got started today and it didn’t really get started well, I’ll tell you. Um so, Spencer Shrader was four of six today. Uh he had makes from 34, 37, 42, and 45. His two misses were from 53 yards. Uh Maddox Trujillo was three of five. uh he made him from 34 37 and 45 and he missed from 42 and 53. This now comes the part where you will be interested because this is nerdy. So punt team stuff. Um I always like to keep track of who’s getting reps at the the punt protector uh which is the player who’s actually like calling the the play calling the cadence and getting the ball back to the punter. Um that was uh Daniel Scott and Rodney Thomas. So Daniel Scott, that made me feel like they might have their new Trevor Denbo. H we’ll see on that. That’s that’s interesting. Daniel Scott and Okay, he took the vast majority of those pump protector snaps today. So Daniel Scott there u and then again Ronnie Thomas was the other one. If you are a wide receiver or cornerback, you probably got snaps at gunner today, but the the first two were Ashton Doulan and Tyler Goodson. Oh, okay. Good. Yeah, Goodson showed some things last year as a gunner and and as as a kick cover guy. That’s interesting. How many teams do you think have a running back as their gunner? Probably not. He was the only one that it was otherwise it was all corners and wide receivers. That’s it. Yeah, he really put himself into that conversation. Look, Tyler Goodson, big shout out to Tyler Goodson here. I know this is late in the show, but I need to make yourself like non-expendable. Like make yourself keep give teams a reason. Spider update. I see it right now. It’s not I’m not enjoying this. We’re about to jump off, guys. But again, shout out to Tyler Goodson for making himself a player that’s hard to cut by working so hard on special teams the last couple years. Uh but guys, that is all we have for today in our postpractice coverage. We’ll be back here again tomorrow postpractice. Yes, tomorrow. which means like the show will probably be at like 8:00, 9:00 at night. It’s a 4:00er. It’s going to be a late one. I get everyone being jaded and/or out on AR but Iâd much rather have him do well than to have to go through a rebuild.
AR!!! LETS GO KID! I pray this kid silences the critics.
On AD Mitchell: it's hard to catch footballs with itty-bitty alligator arms…
It's really weird having the defensive secondary be the best position group of the Colts…
We still acting like Riley Leonard isnt better than AR lmao
I'm glad he's saying the right stuff now. Some short game would be pretty sweet.
What about some Jason Bean highlights instead of Leonard
Hope AR can pull it together and keep it going.
At least Jones seems consistent. Thought it would improve after three years, but not looking forward to one out of five balls sailing on us if AR does start. Not fun watching if we're never sure where the ball is going to go on each play.
That throw he over threw AP was also over Juju Brentâs
Roster spot or not, ârest daysâ after one or two days points to me laziness. These are supposed to be professionals and prepared for Summer exertion. Unless one is ill, EVERYONE should be ALWAYS giving their utmost and not slacking off. Just another problem with management that they put up with this.
Jake, youâre scaring us with your observations of Jones. I would expect timing issues with learning receivers, but fundamentals problems for a 6th year QB portends for a struggling season. Hopefully things will work these flaws out.
If AR wins, then that means he actually made progress and the Colts will be in the playoffs. If DJ wins, then that means another Minshew-like season and missing the playoffs by 1 0r 2 games. đ
Itâs been done before in this league that great defenses (with questionable offenses) have generated playoff capable teams (not necessarily Super Bowl competitors).
Indy and Jaxonville will be battling for 2nd in the division at 7 wins being a major accomplishment. This isnât opening day of baseball lol where you might think your team has a chance. GL and keep praying
Pads on next week, so we will see more
