  1. They’re gonna limp to the end of the season, not resign Tucker and hope that shit works out next year

  2. Belt to ass. We finally get an easy stretch and we start out 1-3. I still think this team has great potential but we need a top of the rotation pitcher

  3. This was not Shota’s day.

Props to McGuire for at least making sure we got some runs.

  4. I was more upset about the Royals game cuz those people put ketchup on hotdogs

  5. I think this week has been a good case for the Cubs really focusing on adding more pitching. Suarez would be nice to have, but between the asking price, Shaw looking competent at the plate again, and the dreadful pitching, he feels like more like a luxury than ever.

And I think I’m at the point where if we’re talking offense, I’m more concerned about Happ than I am Shaw. Outside of a few hot weeks, Happ has been positively awful at the plate. I know he has a no-trade clause, so I’m not saying they should even try to move him, but Shaw is at least hitting the ball with authority, which is more than you can say for Happ.

  6. I thought the Cubs supposedly had one of the easiest remaining schedules in baseball. My fucking ass! They’re 1-3 against sub .500 teams this week

  7. I feel like Imanaga has to be hurt right? He normally has better control than this and isn’t hurling them down the middle.

  8. Ok, that sucked. Some games will be like that. Put it behind you and move on to the next one. We’re still a good team.

  9. Well the white Sox were bound to beat us again one of these days. At least the brewers lost

  10. 5 runs would’ve been good for a win in almost every other shota start on the year so far… Hopefully just a fluke bad game from him and he bounces back next time but the pitching is definitely concerning outside of him. I’d rather have it happen today than in his next start against Milwaukee anyways. Hopefully the rumors about the pushes for Cease or Lugo are true and will come to fruition soon now that the trades are starting up.

  11. We need Tucker to heat back up. He unlocks our offense when he hits well and elevates everyone around him. Also, the Brewers lost, so im gonna just pretend today never happened since we’re pretty much in the same position.

  12. In non-Cubs news, anyone see the game 22 year old rookie for the As Nick Kurtz just had? 6/6, 4 HRs, 6 Rs, 8 RBIs, 19 total bases. Might be the greatest hitting game ever and he’s 22.

  13. The only bright spot about this is that maybe it lights a fire under the FO’s ass to bulk up the pitching.

  14. Wouldn’t mind seeing Tucker produce like a $500M player. Not sure if he’s banged up, but other than April, he’s been meh…..

  15. Has Imanaga thrown to McGuire before? He strikes me as someone who would have a preferred catcher
