Kenneth Grant meets with the media | Miami Dolphins
Zer has really taken you. What has that experience been for you so far? Um, it’s been pretty good to be honest. I mean, you know, he’s challenging me and everything, you know, on the field, off the field. So, I mean, just, you know, be being in a room with a guy like that that, you know, taken a different path for me, but he’s also, you know, excelling in one of the top dogs in this league. So, I mean, he’s doing everything the right way. So, I’m just, you know, just trying to follow on his path. Knowing his contract situation still show. What kind of example does that set for you? Um, it sets a pretty good example because I mean, you know, obviously he wants that contract, but more than that, he wants to be here with with us, you know, co-workers, but ultimately like the brothers, he cares about the interior D line, you know, we got kind of a lot of rooks in there right now. So, he’s kind of taking all of us in his under his wing, you know, Bonito, Matt Dickerson, all those guys that’s been here. So they’re kind of just like, you know, putting in a collective effort of, you know, trying to help us, but also, you know, fend for themselves as well. What’s the biggest difference you found like in the NFL compared to college? Uh, I’ll say in the NFL, you know, practice is much faster, much more intense. You know, sometimes it’s a little shorter, but the the speed of practice and, you know, speed of indie is definitely ramped up for sure. What’s your relationship like with some of the other? It’s pretty good. I think we have a really tight-knit group to be honest. You know, everybody’s, you know, pretty much cool with each other. You know, we hang out a lot outside of the facility along with, you know, inside the facility. Uh we got like or we have like a rookie show coming up, so we’re all like planning and doing stuff like that. So, we got a pretty tight-knit and cool group. about the way coach emphasizes technique. Uh yeah, that’s the that’s the main focus to be honest because what you do in Indie the technique wise you take that to team. So if we could focus on individual and doing the right techniques, you know, take that to team. But you know, if it’s not perfect from him, you’re doing it again. So if you’re on one drill, you might do that drill like six times until you until you get it right because he’s all about perfection. So yeah. any battles with Nia? Oh yeah, we’re we’re battling uh it’s a battle every day to be honest. You know, I mean uh me and coach Clark, we were in there watching film of the walkthroughs. You know, we’re still we’re battling in the walkthrough still even though we’re out not in pads or anything. So, I mean everything, you know, we do everything together. First in the building, last in the building. So, we’re just challenging each other, you know, on the field and off the field. What’s your role in the rookie challenge show? Are you going to sing to the rest of the room? Nah, we got kind of like a little skit coming up, you know, do a funny impression video. So, it’s going to be pretty funny. You do impressions of teammates and veterans? Uh, no. Some of the coaches. Yeah. Are you gonna do Mike? You said, huh? You said, am I going to do Mike? Yeah, for sure. Yeah, for sure. All right. Give us a little something. Uh, I can’t. He’s more of a He’s more of an amped guy, you know, when he comes in the team meeting, he’s music blasting, you know, crunking his head. How cool is it that you know, you and Jon are going to kind of be pushing each other throughout your careers here? I mean, it it it’s very cool, you know, just because we know the standard of, you know, obviously offensive line coach holds him to, but he knows the standard that Clark uh holds of me. So, you know, every rep, every mental rep, every physical rep is going to be a battle. So, we we both know that, but at the end of the day, you know, we’re trying to help each other even though we’re on different sides of the ball. What do you think of how the pass rush can come from different angles with team? Yeah, we we got some dogs up there. I mean, just from the interior, you know, Bonito, Zack, me, you know, Jordan Phillips, all the rookies, uh, in on the edge, that’s that’s crazy. You got Chop, you got, uh, Jayen Phillips, you got, uh, Barley Chub. So, those guys, it was a play yesterday. Both of those guys were in and it was just like a sandwich sack. So, so it was pretty cool. You know, those guys were coming off the edge. Is there anything that surprised you so far this week? Um, I’ll just nah, nothing really surprised me. It’s just another day of practice. Yeah, intense practice. So, I mean, we’re definitely in the building a lot more. You know, Clark Clark holds us to a standard and always be the last one, first one in. So, I mean, just grinding every day. You’re a rookie. You’re going to make mistakes. How do you balance giving yourself grace with trying to best you can be not hard on yourself that balance? Yeah, I mean obviously I want to strive for perfection but you know Clark says you know it’s never as good as it seems but it’s never as bad as it seems. So you know being able to find that balance and find the small things and even the big things to work on. So I mean just always he says you know just you haven’t arrived even though you’re a firstrounder you haven’t arrived. So you’re you’re just like everybody else. So So he holds

Another unbelievable stupid move by GM Chris Grier drafting a DL instead of giving Tua another weapon by drafting TE Tyler Warren at 13. This is absurd and exactly why we are having difficulty winning a Superbowl. Also we should have drafted at 48 CB Shavon Revel Jr instead of moving up we could have also got 98 OT Charles Grant 116 RB Dylan Sampson 135 DL Joshua Farmer 150 TE Mitchell Evans 155 TE Jackson Hawes 235 RB LeQuint Allen
Steal of the draft.
