And it’s going to start here with a matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Arizona Diamondbacks from PNC Park for the Pittsburgh Pirates. You have Andrew Heeney listed as the starter in this one, while the Arizona Diamondbacks will send out Mel Kelly. And you know, the thing about Mel Kelly is that he is going to be an attractive trade chip for the Arizona Diamondbacks if they choose to, you know, offload some talent at the trade deadline. They’ve already offloaded Josh Naylor. There’s been rumblings of Aayoheno Suarez, Zack Gallon potentially out there. Uh, like I said, Mel Kelly. So, I think Kelly is going to be a decent option if a team can pick him up and maybe this is a good chance for the Diamondbacks to cash in on Kelly’s solid numbers so far this season and be able to get something back for him. And, uh, Kelly, you know, coming off of a strong start, you know, coming out of the All-Star break, six innings, a two-run ball, gave up just three hits. He did struggle with control for the second straight out. and gave up four walks. But I still think this is a decent spot for for Kelly because while the Pittsburgh Pirates were able to sweep the Detroit Tigers after being swept out of the break by the uh by the Chicago White Socks, the fact of the matter is that this is still a Pirates lineup that in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching even. Yes. Including, you know, the Allstar break and, you know, the uh the couple of series so far that have followed about nine 10 game sample size. The Pirates are still third worst in baseball and isolated power. Their team OPS numbers are decent or excuse me, the batting average is decent. The team OPS numbers are fourth worst in baseball and they do have a 25% strikeout rate. So, I think this could be just a good spot for Kelly to, you know, get some momentum going. You know, he’s had some decent numbers on the road this season. You look at Kelly away from Chase Field, a 5-2 record this season, a 3.24 RA, a 209 opponent’s batting average. The extra base hits have been down compared to his numbers at home, but that’s because of how hitter friendly Chase Field can be. On the other side, you got Andrew Heene, who has struggled in a lot of his recent outings. He has given up seven runs in four innings in three of his last five starts. He’s given up six home runs in his last four outings. Just not great numbers for Andrew Heene, who at times was showing, you know, flashes of being maybe a staff ace for the uh for the Pirates, but Heene already faced the uh the Diamondbacks in Chase Field at the uh at the end of May. Five runs allowed on eight hits over five innings of work. He has a 10.24 24 erra in two career starts against the Diamondbacks over the last three seasons. So, a lot of these same Diamondbacks have seen Andrew Heene and have been able to get to him. And I think this is another spot where, you know, the Diamondbacks can do some damage considering the Diamondbacks have had solid numbers against left-handed pitching in the last couple of weeks. So, I’m going to roll with the Diamondbacks in this one on the money line. I just don’t trust the the Pirates here. I don’t trust Andrew Heiny, and I think the the Diamondbacks bullpen can hold it down when all said and done. So, I’m going to roll with the Diamondbacks here, and that’s going to be my free pick.
