So, this trade definitely is not a blockbuster by any stretch. But for both teams, it actually could accomplish something uh that they’re kind of striving towards in the 2025 26 season. From the Suns’s perspective, it’s not a full-on rebuild, but it’s more of a retool. Uh so, I think that if they’re able to get back some more draft picks, take on some expiring contracts, even in the form of second round draft picks is never a bad thing to have draft capital. At the very least, you have lots of throws to the dart board come draft day. And also too, he could potentially package these up for trades down the road. And they did so in the Kevin Durant trade. They acquired five second round draft picks. So in this deal, they’d be acquiring, you know, two second round draft picks in the future. Maybe you can trade up in the draft if you like a player down the road or you can sell those draft picks off for money. Whatever the case may be, it’s never a bad thing for a rebuilding team or a retooling team in this case to have draft picks. But also too, expiring contracts, the Suns are in a position to take this on uh for next year. the expectations for them is to be decent but not amazing. Like, could they be a playin team? Absolutely. Are they going to be the worst team in the league? Probably not. Uh, so maybe it’s not a terrible idea for the Suns team to take on some uh some expiring contracts to get back some draft capital. So, not a bad move from the Suns in regards to a futuristic perspective. Now, from the Hornets perspective, I actually like this move. Like, relatively speaking, Pat Conetonin, Spencer Denwy, they don’t move the needle. They’re expiring contracts. to attach a couple second round draft picks, uh, which for a team in Charlotte who wants to get rid of draft capital, help acquire assets now and go towards a playoff spot next year, this helps them get there. Like Grayson Allen’s a very solid player. Um, he’s a really solid kind of 3 and D guy. Obviously, we know his history and just sort of a little bit about Grayson Allen in regards to how he plays. He’s a hard player to play against, the type of player that um, teams love to have on the roster. Maybe teams like, you know, don’t like to play against a player like that. So, if he were to go to the Hornets and bring what he brings to the table, this could be a really good fit and potentially get the Hornets back into the playoffs for the first time in a little bit in 2026. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Hornets by acquiring the best player. But as always, leave your thoughts.
