Mariners vs. Angels Game Highlights (7/26/25) | MLB Highlights

Anderson in his home starts has pitched a lot better than on the road. Nine starts at home. One and three record, but the RA is good. 3.12 to JP Crawford leading it off. Crawford was 0 for five in the game yesterday. Three balls, two strikes on Crawford again. And the fly ball to left center field should end this eight pitch at bat for Tyler Anderson. Joe Adell makes the catch. That’ll bring up center fielder Julio Rodriguez. and he’s hot as anybody in baseball the last few days. Two home runs in last night’s game, a home run in the opening game of the series, three home runs in the last two nights here in Anaheim. 3-2. Looked like he got in on him a little bit, but Julio fights it off and works a base hit. And now here’s Cal Raleigh, the DH tonight. The stretch and the pitch to Cal swinging a line, driving to left field. That’s going to get down for a base hit. A one hopper out to Taylor Ward. Down to second goes Julio. And that was a rocket. And here come the Mariners. They would love to bunch up a bunch of base hits and score some runs. And here he is, the new first baseman for the Mariners, Josh Naylor. 0 and two. He drops down and Naylor hits a fly ball to center field. It hangs up for Joe Adell. It’s a lot of pitches, but it was worth it. Tyler Anderson puts up a zero. Fish, let me just go back to you on George Kirby because June 8th he struck out 14 angels. So, as a hitter, how what adjustments do you make? That’s how Milwaukee beat him just his last start. They took advantage of hitting the offspe pitch. Swing and a miss. 97 out of the gates from Kirby and he strikes out Neto on three pitches. Here is Trout still one RBI away from 1,000 in his major league career. The 3-2 to Trout check swing. Does he go? It’s a foul tip into the glove of Mitch Garber. And that’s strike three. So behind of the count, George Kirby got it to 32. He strikes out Trout after striking out on three pitches. On the wind up by Kirby, the 1-1 swinging a well- hit ball into right field in toward the corner on the run is Kzone. Reaches out and he makes the catch. braces himself at the top of that short wall in the right field corner. Nice running catch by Dom Canzone and one, two, three. A flash you back to Taylor Ward. His two home runs off George Kirby in his career. Had a pretty good idea what he was able to crush on him, too. They were couple of elevated pitches on him. Trying to get Taylor Ward going at home here. But he hits this one in the air right center field. It’s Rodriguez back for it. He’s out near the wall. It is gone. Taylor Ward has homered for a third time against George Kirby. Well, you throw that out there as far as home runs against Kirby. Does it again the other way. And that’s another fourth seen fast ball. 24th home run. 77 stakes just one away from a careerhigh first home run. Taylor Ward getting it going. Love to see that swing here at home. Here’s the pitch on the way. Swinging a well- hit ball right center field. Julio on the run. reaches out and he makes the catch out in front of the warning track. That ball was blistered in the gap. It was slicing away from Julio and Julio racing into right center field. Makes an outstanding running grab. Here’s Julio. The pitch to him on a 3-1. Well, this is rifled out to left center field. Julio is going bonkers in LA. For the third time in his career, he has homered in three consecutive games. A massive home run by Julio. He does it again. Bedrock in Anaheim. Julio is on fire. He’s tied this game. It is 1-1. He’s on a home run binge. He’s got four in the series. Randio Rosarena will dig in. He’ll face the veteran Tyler Anderson. Swung on. That is club center field. Hammer Adell back. He’s at the track. He’s looking up and this is gone. Over the tall wall in center field, Randy Rosena for the first time in his career. A doubledigit home run month. Number 10 on the month for Rosena. And that smash gives the Mariners a two to one lead. He continues to be redot for the Mariners. Well, he had touched up Tyler Anderson in the previous start. We talked about that. This is the rematch on June 8th. couple of doubles. This time he gets him for a home run. His aim is so good. Finds a Mariner fan in the sea of red. Mentioned it earlier. George Kirby has never walked four batters in a major league game. He’s walked three tonight, tying his careerh high, which he’s done a few times this year. Full count here on Ward. Strike three call. It got him on pitch number 10. Nice slider to put down Ward. And there’s one away. Fifth strikeout for George Kirby. Here’s Monata. The pitch swung on. That’s driven to left field. back of Rosarena backpedals well in front of the track, reaches up, makes the catch. That’s a one, two, three inning for George Kirby. He needed that here in the fourth. Tying and go ahead runs in scoring position to start this inning. A chance for the Angels or at the very least love to see that ground ball. Maybe Palano not to get the run home, but also advanced when he throw to third. Two two on the way. Swing and a miss. Strike three. Wade goes down swinging. Kirby needed a strikeout in the worst way and he got it. That strike out number six for George with another chance for a big hit here. Second and third, one out. Fly ball left center field. Hit pretty well. Rodriguez sizes it up. He’s at the wall and he makes the catch right at the edge of the fence. It will tie the game as both runners advance off. He scores and Reno to third. Neto just missed a three-run homer. He ties the game up. Here’s Trout. The pitch on the way to Trout. Swinging a ground ball to third. Right there. Ben Williamson. The toss across in time to get Trout and that’s going to retire the side. Damage control by George Kirby. Here we go to the sixth inning. Brand new ball game. Two to the score as Cal Raleigh will stride to the plate. Wow, that is an absolute missile. Cal Raleigh. The first to 40 in a blink of an eye. Only the seventh catcher ever with a 40 homer season. A vapor trail left behind that one from the Mariners’s allstar catcher Cal Raleigh. My goodness. Cal Raleigh home run royalty. Only the fifth Mariner with a 40 home run season. Junior and Jay Buunner, Nelson Cruz, Alex Rodriguez, and now Cal Raleigh. So there’s one away. And here’s Kzone. It’s been a busy inning. Cal a home run. Mariners three homers. Randy Cal Julio. They have the bases loaded. a one-run lead on the ground into left field for a base hit. A Rose Arena in Naylor on his way home. The ball bobbled a little bit out there. Two-run score. Dom can zone lengthens the lead in the sixth inning. It’s five to2. Here’s the pitch to JP. Swung out. Hard hit off the glove of Brockton. Deflects it to Ren Heatho. Scoops it up. Loses the ball. Everybody’s safe. The Mariners get another run. Palano scores from third. It’s six-2 Mariners. Angels trying to fight back here after the four runs in the top of the six. Mona bats got him in the hand. Monata in pain as that fast ball ran all the way up and in. He’s saying he’s swung. He’s checking to make sure he’s swung or not. Looks like Monata is going to head out. So Newman will be the pinch runner. Thornton is ready in the bullpen. Kirby at 93 pitches. So put Newman at first, Adele at second, Shaunell at third. Bases loaded, one out. Mariners leading six-2. Swing and a miss upstairs. Oh, is out number two. Top of the zone. The strike out. That’s a big one. Seven in the game. It’ll be Reno with two away. He’s going to be fired up if he can get Renhifo here without giving up a run. Is 3-2. He got him. George Kirby unleashes a vicious pitch down and into Renhifo. And he leaves them loaded to get out of the jam. Palanco at second and it brings up Ben Williamson. This shoots through the middle quickly. Palco racing around third base. Adele’s throw is cut off and Ben Williamson drives in. A nice little piece of insurance for the Mariners. They stretch the lead. It’s seven to two. A win tonight for the Mariners. They’d be back by just four games in the division. Carlos Vargas is on to get the final three outs. Ground ball. Palco snares this. Vargas a clean ninth and the Mariners end up cruising to a game three win. A final score of 7-2. George Kirby with the win. He evens his record at five and five historic home runs. Cal Raleigh with his 40th home run of the season. Now only the fifth, the Mariner to hit 40 or more home runs in a

  1. Julio now up to 12 Home Runs at Angel Stadium with an OPS over 1.200. Cal continues his historic season become the first primary catcher to go 40-10 on HR and SB. Horrible job from the Umpires in this series so far, but we've taken 2 and have a chance at making it 3 of 4 tomorrow. Need Logan Gilbert to show up and pitch well and the offense to keep rolling like this.

  3. Iโ€™m liking the way 1-6 and 9 with Cole Young looks in the lineup now with Naylor added. And we still have a solid farm system.
