So, could the Golden State Warriors be trading away Jonathan Kaminga to the Phoenix Suns this 2025 NBA off seasonason? The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Golden State Warriors receiving Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neal, Nick Richards, and a 2027 first round pick swap from Washington, and the Phoenix Suns receiving Jonathan Kaminga. So, this news or this proposal comes in light of Kaminga pretty much refusing to sign a contract with the Warriors this off season. All signs point towards him and the Warriors never reaching a resolution on a new contract. So, I think his time in Golden State is pretty much as good as done. And I think that if he were to get dished this off seasonason, I think two teams I’d have to keep an eye on. It would of course be the Sacramento Kings at this point, probably the clubhouse leaders to land him. But right behind them, in my opinion, is the Phoenix Suns. So the Suns have made some moves to their team this offseason. They of course traded away Kevin Durant. They brought out Bradley Beal and this team looks quite a bit different uh for 202526. So the back court in this scenario would be a little bit crowded with uh Jaylen Green, Jonathan Kaminga, they of course have Deon Booker, etc. So maybe they’re not the best fit from a basketball perspective, but I think if you want to bring Jonathan Kaminga in and just bank on having some good offense in your back court, perhaps Booker’s playing the one, Green’s playing the two, maybe move Kaminga to the three and that’s kind of your one, two, three uh for next year in Phoenix. Like that could be a pretty good move. Like you bank on a lot of offense, you bank on a lot of youth here too with Kaminga being pretty young as well as Jaylen Green being pretty young and Booker not being that old either. Like the foreseeable future looks pretty bright in Phoenix if you make this deal. Now, from Kaminga’s perspective, I don’t think Phoenix makes a lot of sense in regards to what he’s looking for on the trade market. So, if he were to go to Phoenix, he would of course, in my opinion, play be playing behind Jaylen Green as well as Deon Booker offensively speaking. So, maybe not a preference there, but if he can adapt, if he can buy in, perhaps even, you know, excel’s expectations, he could be the focal point of the offense before you even know it. So, I think Kaminga going to Phoenix does make some sense in that regard. Now, from the Warriors perspective here, I actually like this trade quite a bit. You know, Kaminga is not coming back to the team. It’s been pretty ugly so far. His value still is relatively high. Now, you’re not getting back a superstar player, per se in the form of Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neal, and Nick Richards. And the ceiling for these guys are quite a bit lower than Kaminga’s, but the floor is pretty high. You know what you’re getting in regards to building a team, adding some more depth to the rotation. I think adding players like Grayson Allen, you know, good solid presence. He plays with a chip on his shoulder. I like his energy. Royce O’Neal, a very good 3 and D wing. and Nick Richards. Not the best player offensively speaking, but can bring some value in their front court. Makes a lot of sense if you ask me. Checks a lot of boxes there. Plus, you’re getting back a first round pick swap from Washington. That could be a good pick later on. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m actually going to probably go with the Warriors based on what they’re getting and how their roster is built up. Pretty even trade though.
