  1. I love it when they extend homegrown talent, but dude is almost 32. Plenty of players remain good well past that age but if they can get one or more solid young pitching prospects for Ward+, then you do it.

  2. You would think that their recent history of extending mid players (Fletcher, Stassi, Upton) would make people think twice about extending a 32 year-old with streaky tendencies. But I guess we never learn.

  3. nah. trade him while his value is as high as it will ever be. let’s save the extensions for younger guys (neto, o’hoppe, schanuel, adell all options to extend imo)

  4. He’s 31 and the angels aren’t winning shit anytime soon. That’s a terrible idea. Please don’t ever be a general manager.

  5. Yall, we don’t just win with young players. A mix of few veteran players, especially the homegrown ones, is just as important to a successful organization. Not to forget, he’s been very healthy (except when drilled by a pitch) and considering his play style, i think we can expect him to be available at least 80% of the time even at older age. I say we should extend him for like a 5-yr 75m deal if he is willing to take it. He might get paid a better aav if FA. Stop this stupid trade ward talk. Respect our man.

  6. Ward is our RBI leader, I’d say at least keep him through 2026 unless they get astronomical value for him.
